Nendoroid Nymph

Aki-san leaning forward on the table during a meeting!
What could be so important that it would warrant him climbing on the desk??

And next to him I see a master figure’s box!

Last week I didn’t get to play with a single figure, but this week I’ll be be taking a look at a lot to make up!

Starting off with this one!

Nendoroid Nymph!

From the popular anime that is about to hit the cinemas with ‘Sora no Otoshimono’ comes a Nendoroid of the Electronic Warfare Angeloid, Type Beta – Nymph.

The second Nendoroid from the series, following on from last month’s Ikaros!

And what a wonderfully lascivious outfit she is wearing!!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her wings are made from clear blue plastic, and just like Nendoroid Ikaros, they can move up and down!

Also take note of the tiny little slits at the bottom of her mantle – such fine detail!

The mantle can be removed!

No other Nendoroid has had so many slits is such revealing places…

I’m not going to show you more than this – you’ll have to check yourself!

Mikatan blog has a magical barrier blocking any photos under skirts!

She comes with an upset expression!

Nymph is well known for her sudden mood changes, so this had to be included – the bright red cheeks trying to hide her embarrassment are so adorable!

That bent right arm suits the expression so well!

Was anyone wondering where the wings went for this photo? Did you think I forgot to attach them?! Don’t be silly, there is no way I’d forget! 😛

She also comes with her cut wings!

Nymph’s wings were cut off by a harpy in the first season, so this allows you to recreate her after that time! To include extra options like this… once again we are seeing Take-chan’s love for the series that me makes figures of!

A different bent right arm!

This one allows you to recreate this pose with her hand placed near her mouth, giving you another option when displaying her in tsundere mode!

But seriously… that expression is just too cute!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)

Of course she also comes with this expression!

A chibi face, potato chips and arms to hold them!

Nymph was always carrying those around with her and munching on them! Just looking at her like this makes me feel all happy inside!

Nendoroid Yuyuko Saigyouji

But anywho! Let’s move onto today’s figure!

The 8th Nendoroid from the Touhou Series:

Nendoroid Yuyuko Saigyouji!

She is the master of Hakugyokuro, the Netherworld Tower, from the popular doujin series of games by Shangai Alice – the Touhou Project!

She has the power to control spirits!
Which as you can see, are included for her – using beautiful clear plastic for a more ghostly effect!

This is how the packaging looks!

The spirits and hat take up a load of space, but as you can see she also comes with a load of other extras! At the bottom of the blister pack you’ll find two see-through stands for the spirits – they can go missing very easily so watch out for them when unpacking the box!

As with all the previous Touhou Nendoroids – the stand has a print of the a motif based around the character, but Yuyuko makes use of one of the arm-type stands – it works nicely for her as it means you can pose her floating through the air!

Right, let’s move on to the optional parts!

First up, a contemptuous face!

The eyes look so much more focused and serious on this face, it’s a wonderful change!

Plus in her right hand is a closed folding fan!
The hand part holding it can be removed, so you can use it with the other arms as well!

Plus she also comes with an open folding fan!

Which just like the closed one can be used with any of her arms.

After playing around with her for a little you’ll realize just how well made she is!! Σ（・∀・）
Just look at the coloring and design on her kimono – it’s absolutely beautiful! Plus she is a load of fun to play with!

She also comes with an innocent smile!

She looks so happy! I also like her eyebrows – they’re kind of thicker than other characters which gives a nice fresh feeling!

She also comes with alternate shoulder parts!

These are so that she can extend her arms out horizontally – they are included with the intention of recreating one of the official images which has both her arms our straight, but of course you can also display her with just one out like above!

She can even hold the butterfly spirits!

For this pose, a ‘butterfly holding’ hand is included!
Obviously you can switch the hands and arms around for all sorts of interesting poses as well – be sure to try and come up with your own!

Ah, by the way – you can see Yuyuko is holding another butterfly in her right hand here, but I’m actually using double-sided tape for that one. I think she’d look good holding an onigiri as well. ^^;

Cheerful JAPAN! Part 2: Nendoroid Puchitto Rock Shooter: Support Ver!

In the new offices, the production team are located on the 6th floor while everyone else is on the 2nd floor. It’s a lot of effort to visit one and other! 😛

Although, there are treasures to be found there, so if needed I’d even dance up to the 6th floor! ^^

Anywho, today they brought me a new master figure to play with!

Nendoroid Puchitto Rock Shooter:
Support ver.

As you may have guessed from the “Support Ver” in her name, this is this month’s Cheerful Japan! product!

The damage that has occurred during the March 11 quake in the Touhoku region is astounding, and in order to get over the destruction caused there is a lot that needs to be done, and lots of support that needs to be given. Good Smile Company has formed a support group named ‘Cheerful Japan’ which will strive to support the relief efforts for as long as possible. For at least 1 year we be releasing charity products among other efforts to raise donation money for the cause. To everyone who supports the Cheerful Japan movement – thank you, and know that your money is going where it is needed!

To support the relief efforts up North, we will be announcing a charity product every month on the 11th, starting with this month and continuing for a year!

The second month brings us Nendoroid Puchitto Rock Shooter: Support Ver!

She is a character from the browser game on NicoNico Douga titled ‘Puchitto Rock Shooter’ – a spin off of Black Rock Shooter!

This is how she looks from the back!

She is wearing a lovely orange cheerleader’s outfit!

It’s the perfect outfit for a cheerleader – it shows off her body nicely, and her twin tailed hair adds an even cuter feeling by having the two sides at different lengths!

The flame on her eye can of course be removed!

The character design for this character is CHAN x CO, who has become quite famous in the Nendoroid world now! She also designed the cheerleader outfit!

I love the way her stomach sticks out like that!
That sleek body line is absolutely beautiful!

Let’s move on to the optional parts!

Blue pompons and hands to hold them!

Blue pompons to suit her blue flame and eyes! The shape of the ponpoms is the same as the ones used for Support Miku, so they should look good displayed together.

However everything was sculpted from scratch!

The staff from planning to production are all determined to bring the best of quality for the Cheerful JAPAN! series!

A bent leg for poses like this!

It really gives a dynamic feeling, like she is really waving the ponpoms up and down! I really love this picture, it’s so cute! 😛

She also comes with an upset face!

She looks so angry… yet it’s still so cute!!!!! xD
The way her mouth is all circular is just like CHAN x CO’s illustration – perfect!

A support flag and arm to hold it!

The flag has a nice big ‘Cheerful JAPAN!’ logo on it and can be held using a special arm! She’ll be waving the flag in hopes of bringing more hopes to those in Japan!

The body can be used for other Nendoroids!

As you can see the colors suit Nendoroid Gumako really nicely! As a side note – there will be more figures wearing the Cheerful JAPAN! cheerleader outfits in the future – but the designs will all differ slightly, allowing you to find the ideal one for you!

Switch bodies with Nendoroid BRS!

The ribbons in her hair can be removed! You can even put them on the normal BRS Nendoroid (left) – but you’ll need to change the joints around.

IMAGEEPOCH will be releasing this outfit on the JRPG Official Site from the 16th June – free of charge!

Nendoroid Totori

Mori from the planning department looks so refreshed with his new hair cut!

I must say that the two Nendoroids in the background as well as that strange green mask are definitely grabbing my attention… but today’s review is of course not about them, it’s about the Nendoroid in Mori’s hands!

Nendoroid Totori!

Totori is from the popular role-playing game “Atelier Totori: Alchemist of Arland 2” – her full name is actually Totoria Helmont, the young alchemist who is traveling the world in search of her missing mother.

A figure of Meru Kishida’s beautiful illustration! ((ﾟДﾟ))

The beautiful translucent color from the illustration has been preserved by using clear plastic parts!

This is how the packaging looks!

As you can see it is loaded with loads of extras for us to take a look at! Be careful when you open it up that none of the small parts bounce out and go missing!

This is how she looks from the back!

She makes use of the arm stand, which connects into her hair rather than her back. A part of the hair can be removed allowing you to replace it with a version without the hole for the arm – in case you want to display her without the stand.

Let’s move onto the optional parts!

A crying face, plus red and blue test tubes!

This crying face was used in one of the key illustrations for the game – and you can even recreate the same pose from the illustration. (If you do a Google search for ‘トトリのアトリエ‘ it’ll be the second picture that pops up). The red and blue test tubes also make use of clear plastic for a really nice and detailed-looking effect!

An energetic smiling face!

That is one expression just packed with happiness!! Just by looking at it I feel like I can get through anything….

Plus the flask in her right hand has measurements on it!

Unfortunately they’re on the other side of this photo – but do take a closer look if you decide to grab her!

She also comes with some ‘flamm’!

This is an item that you made using alchemy in the game – it’s something like a bomb. She also comes with right arms that stretch out horizontally as above!

You can use these arms with the flask to recreate yet another one of the game’s key illustrations!

When her arms are out like that it gives a kind of dynamic feeling to the figure! It’s so nice to have so many useful optional parts to play with!

But we’re not done yet…

Sitting parts plus a different ribbon!

She comes with a whole extra lower body to place her in a sitting pose like this one – she also comes with a different ribbon for her back to suit the sitting pose!

Magical Girl transformation!

As with most Nendoroids – the expressions and parts can be switched around for some more fun! Pick your favorite Nendoroid and give them a little makeover – as you can see her headband can also be removed! (although the two parts of it are stuck together).

Help Decide on the Design for the 2012 Nendoroid Snow Miku!

We’re fast approaching the halfway mark of the year… and WonFes is only 2 months away!

The 2012 Snow Miku

Costume Design Contest!

We’ll pick one design to be used for next year’s Sapporo Snow Festival Snow Miku!

But, there is a bit of a theme that needs to be followed…

‘A 2012 Nendoroid Snow Miku Outfit that makes use of gems/jewels resembling snow or ice!’
Ooh! That seems like it’ll bring in lots of gorgeous designs!

So, in order to get some creative thoughts going I found a little blue jewel and let the previous Snow Miku hold it!

We won’t be able to use real jewels in the 2012 Snow Miku…
But we’ll make them look as realistic as possible!

Well, I say ‘we’, but the real hard work will come from the Good Smile production team… but I’ll be there to cheer them on! Thanks as always guys!

I believe this is the first time we’ll be putting jewels or gems into the design of a Nendoroid!

Snow Miku is known to bring lots of interesting challenges to the team, but it’s always a lot of fun to work on! (albeit a lot of trouble for the production team :P)

“Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai” Anime & Nendoroid Announcement!

The ‘Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai’ novels!!

Also known by it’s official nickname ‘Wa ga nai’, the novel is written by Yomi Hirasawa and illustrated by Buriki!

The novel series has just passed it’s 200 thousand sales mark – it’s hugely popular at the moment!! If you do a search for ‘Wa ga nai’ (well… “はがない” in Japanese) in twitter, you’ll see just how popular it is by the speed that the timeline updates – it’s incredible!

This is the 6th volume, which was released this month!

Ooh! There are indeed two!

The left is a special edition with a drama CD included, the right is the normal version!

The front cover of the special edition features an illustration of Sena while the normal version has Yozora – fans of the series will want to grab both just for that!

Although I’m sure many of you already knew, as it was announced on the 18th of May in Asahi and Yomiuri newspapers. ^^;

Yep, really!

The planning for the figures is to be done by Otakana, who has been dying to do figures from the series – when the anime announcement was made he jumped at the chance and is now super happy that there will be figures! 😛

Nendoroid Ikaros

But you’re welcome to carry on… as soon as I’ve had a chance to play with her!

Thus today I’ll be taking a look at this adorable little Nendoroid that was on display at the Good Smile 10th anniversary party!

Nendoroid Ikaros!

She is Battle Angeloid Type Alpha from the anime series ‘Sora no Otoshimono’, which is getting a film version very soon!

She has a lot of bare skin – quite rare for Nendos!!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her huge white angel wings are fitted with little joints which let them move up and down. The ribbons floating around her hair have also been sculpted ever so cutely!

Her shoulder armor can be removed!

Oooh! This way you can enjoy even more beautiful bare skin!! The blank expression on her face is also so perfectly suited to her personality – it’s so cute!

Let’s take a look at her other expressions!

First up is the chibi face!

The chibi versions of all the characters are definitely an important part of the Sora no Otoshimono series – and this expression lets you recreate the expression used by the chibi Ikaros!

She also comes with chibi wings!

She also comes with… a watermelon!

Watermelons are Ikaros absolute favorite food, so the Nendoroid just had to have one too! She even comes with arm parts that allow her to hug it like she always did in the series!

Uranus Queen Mode!

The combat mode of Ikaros from the final episode is also included!
The wings of this version are made from clear plastic with a very slight gradiant effect – they’re very pretty! You can replace them with the normal wings whenever you wish!

Plus that expressionless red-eyed face!

The ultimate weapon, APOLLON!

Look at the incredible sculpting done on this extra! It’s made using 3D data, so it has absolutely perfect symmetry left and right – it really looks amazing!

Arms to hold it are also of course included!

It can also shoot leeks! 😛

By just switching the hand parts you can let any other Nendoroid hold it as well!

Nendoroid Prince

I have been waiting for this!!

I really have been waiting for this day for so long! I’ve been a huge fan of Togashi’s works for ages, and now one of his works is being Nendorized!

Time to have some fun with a long awaited Nendoroid!

Nendoroid Prince!

With it’s recent anime conversion, the series ‘Level E’ has become more well known – and from that series comes a Nendoroid the genius first prince of the planet Dogura, simply known as ‘Prince’!

This is the very first figure of him!

If anyone reading this blog thinks they have a mindset even close to mine, then trust me… just grab this one!

There might also be some fans who are thinking they want a figma as well (like me), but at least this is a start! We finally have him in figure form! Don’t miss this figure of him or you might never get the chance to have a figure of him! If you’re a fan of the series you won’t be disappointed!

This is how he looks from the back!

His long wavy blond hair looks great in Nendoroid form!

The Nendoroid doesn’t come with a load of little items to play with, but instead comes with a huge amount of extra parts for different poses – Prince is very well known to over-exaggerate on his poses a bit, so it’s great for him to have the parts to do so! Let’s take a look at some of the poses you can make!

First up is his acting face!

The same expression he would always give when people made him out as the bad guy!

He also has bent arms to hold his hands to his cheeks!

Next up is the plotting face!

A fairly serious expression ideal for when he is coming up with his next prank! You can tell just how cunning he is by looking at the expressions that come with the Nendoroid! ^^;

A bent right arm lets you pose him with his hand to his mouth as well!

Those are the three expressions, let’s move onto the optional parts!

A cat and arms to hold it!

It’s the kitty that he saved from the car! He can hold onto it tightly and keep it safe now! The kitty connects onto the right arm, so you can replace the left arm with a different one and still keep the kitty.

And last but not least!

A chair, sitting parts and a book!

All the parts to recreate Prince sitting cross-legged on his chair while reading a book! Plus he even has the coffee cup resting on his knee!

Fans of the show may or may not have realized, but this is…

Which was inside Yukitaka’s room… somewhat illegally. ^^;

A look from another angle!

It’s probably quite hard to get a Nendoroid to sit cross-legged like that, but it actually looks really great! You could even recreate Yukitaka’s room using the ‘House’ playset sold by Phat! Company!

Switch some parts around with other Nendoroids too!

This sunglasses from from Nendoroid HMO Miku! If only I had a hat as well then it would have been perfect!

Nendoroid Hideyoshi Kinoshita

Tsukki still hasn’t come back… (´・ω・`)

Heavy Bramble is going to play with a Summon today!

Don’t worry Heavy Bramble – Tsukki will be coming back later today! Sorry for always using your desk when you’re away Tsukki! 😛

Anyway, today we’ll be playing with this figure!

Nendoroid Hideyoshi Kinoshita!

He is one of the characters from the comedy anime ‘Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu’ – one of the students in the 2nd year F class.

The 2nd Year F-Class: 47 guys, 2 girls and 1 Hideyoshi!

Apparently Hideyoshi is a gender in itself!

This is how the packaging looks!

With just one glance it might look like there are not that many parts – but there are quite a few! It includes his summon, parts that let him sit down, as well as a total of three expressions along with other parts! Station Yamada was in charge of this product – you can feel his love for the series!

Let’s take a closer look at the optional parts!

First up is his summon!

Along with an expression used for summoning! You can’t have Bakatest without these parts – you can use them to recreate the famous summoning scenes!

Plus the summon is incredibly detailed!

It’s about the size of a little charm – apparently making such tiny characters is really difficult!

You can even rotate the summon’s head!

This is the classroom seating arrangements for the F-class – the lowest grades in the school. Of course Good Smile’s sculpting is A-class, however! 😛

The details on the mandarin box are inredible!

Another expression – a worn out face!

A truly wonderful expression to play with! It lets you recreate a number of scenes from the anime!

If you’re not sure – make sure you go watch the last episode of the first season! As far as I can think it’s the first Nendoroid that comes with such unique extras like a box and drawing board.

The figure has actually been displayed at a couple of events already, but now it is finally being released as the first figure in a series of products – those of you who were at the 10th birthday will already know, but that series is…

The damage that has occurred during the March 11 quake in the Touhoku region is astounding, and in order to get over the destruction caused there is a lot that needs to be done, and lots of support that needs to be given. Good Smile Company has formed a support group named ‘Cheerful Japan’ which will strive to support the relief efforts for as long as possible. For at least 1 year we be releasing charity products among other efforts to raise donation money for the cause. To everyone who supports the Cheerful Japan movement – thank you, and know that your money is going where it is needed!

To support the relief efforts up North, we will be announcing a charity product every month on the 11th, starting with this month and continuing for a year!

Gumako’s Secrets

　・ She was once a show girl for ‘GSC Udon’ at a udon shop in Matsudo.
　・ She had a side job working as an announcement giver for GSC.
　・ The things on her head are ‘udon’.
　・ She gives depressed people some of the udon to cheer them up.

　　 She sometimes eats them herself too.

Gumako once ran out of energy and collapsed only to be saved by the owner of an udon shop. She then realized the power that udon has at cheering people up and giving them energy, and named that ‘Udon Power’.

The GSC Site on April 1st 2008!

Gumako was born as an April Fool’s joke!

Even through she was only there for one day, she was very well received and has now become GSC’s mascot character! A lot of people have been asking for a figure of her, and it has finally come!

Plus it’s the first in the ‘Cheerful JAPAN !’ series! Gumako!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her wears a pure white outfit, boots and gloves. It’s a very simple design, but it still looks great! The little orange stripes are also a nice cute touch – the Good Smile color!

The Udon on her head are also posable!

As with all Nendoroids she also comes with optional parts!

First, a bent arm and bent leg!

You can make cute poses like this one by using these parts! Plus just look at those puffy sleeves… they’re adorable!

She comes with an udon face!

This is the first time we’ve seen this expression!

Definitely an expression with a unique feeling about it!! Just by looking at it I feel a little relaxed and happier! I think this might be love!

The reason it’s called an Udon face is because she has it when eating udon… which means she also comes with…

Udon, chopsticks and arms to hold them!

It shows you just how happy she is when eating udon!

This is what she calls, ‘Udon Power’!!

You can’t really see that well in the photo, but the quality is really astounding! I’m certain the sculptor must also make the food models you always see outside shops!

That’s all the bonus parts for Gumako, but as an extra bonus…
She also comes with a mini-GSC Seijin Mascot!

You see this mascot all over GSC things, so he has been included in Nendoroid Petite size! His two arms (tentacles?) are also fitted with joints for some posing!

Gumako is flying!

This is the BRS Chan x CO face! It’s still undergoing a few changes, so it might change, but at the moment she is very compatible with other expressions!
