Nendoroid Minami Kawashima

Time to take a look at the first master figure of the month!

There are so many things on Oda-P’s desk that I really can’t display on the blog… it’s dangerous there! 😛

Anyways, today we’ll be taking a look at this figure!

From “Moshi Koukou Yakyuu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no “Management” o Yondara” …

Nendoroid Minami Kawashima!

There is also an anime of “Mushidora” that aired on NHK!
The original novel was apparently the 2010 No.1 bestseller with 2500000 copies sold! Plus there is also a movie planned for the future – it’s definitely a title to keep your eyes on!

Apparently the design for her character was based off AKB48’s Minami Minegishi!

Anyway, let’s get onto the Nendoroid!

Her first expression is a smiling face!
Her bag with a bent left arm are also included as optional parts!

This allows you to recreate the illustration used on the front cover of the book. There are also different shoulder parts included to pose the arms in more directions!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her ponytail with little parts sticking up have all been shrunk down into adorable Nendoroid form! The ponytail is also fitted with a joint allowing you to move it around for even more subtle poses!

Next up, a determined face!

She has more details drawn into her eyes compared to other Nendoroids, which really makes her eyes stand out. That pouty face is also so cute!

It wouldn’t be Mushidora without the book…

The book, for those who don’t know, is a business related book written by a guy named Drucker. It explains things like ‘what is an organization’, and ‘what is management’. Those kind of things. Manami takes over the management of the baseball club so she starts learning from it!

The famous ‘crying face’!

This face is really something! Definitely one that will pull on the hearts of fans of the series!

The baseball club needs a metal bat!

Yet another part the series just has to have! An extra right arm and shoulder are also included to recreate this scene of her hitting a ball!

Those clothes are so adorable too!

What a wonderful picture! I think more than anything else it caters to my personal tastes, but it’s still a great picture! 😛

I spy Take-chan playing with a master figure! (･∀･)ﾉ

And completely unrelated, both Take-chan and I both have the same taste in manga… yay!

But let’s head onto today’s figure preview!

From Valkyria Chronicles 3:
Nendoroid Imuka!

Valkyria Chronicles 3 is a PSP game, and Imuka was one of the ‘Nameless’, a group made up mostly of criminals and trouble-makers – however she is the ace of that team, and is now here as a Nendoroid!

She is the second Nendo from Valkyria Chronicles, following on from Nendoroid Riela!

This is how she looks from the back!

As you can see her weapon, ‘Vár’ is taller than her! 😛
This is the biggest weapon in Nendoroid history! It’s huge!!

Parts of her armor have a metallic glint!

We often see the shiny painting effect of Nendoroids but this is actually a different kind of glint that is normally only used on scale figures – Imuka is the first Nendoroid to have it!

Her first extra expression is an angry face!

It can be used either to recreate a battle scene… or more likely to display her with Nendoroid Riela! 😛
By the way, as you can see Imuka uses her huge weapon in just one hand! It looks so cute!

She can also hold it with two hands!
It just needs a change of hand parts!

She also comes with different shoulder parts which let her pull her arms back further behind her.

You can even pose her reloading!

It has this little gimmick as well, even though it’s Nendoroid size! 😛

As you can see here, the lever is horizontal

And then…

If you pull the lever up the reloading area opens up! This is definitely a bonus for the fans!

Val is actually made from 3D Data!
There are parts you can see are super detailed, which could never be done by hand!

Other Nendoroids can hold Val too!

As expected, it looks great on other Nendoroids that fight, like BRS!
Plus the expression is exchangeable with others as well! (There might be some that it won’t work with though…)
Imuka is really beautiful so the face gives a mature look to anyone you put it on!

Nendoroid Madoka Kaname

I introduced this little cutie on Twitter, a blog, and on live broadcast last week!

But today we get a closer look!

As always, Oda-P put the master figure together in no time at all!

From Puella Magi Madoka Magica, comes…

Nendoroid Madoka Kaname!

She is the main heroine from the show Puella Magi Madoka Magica!

This is how she looks from the back!

She’s so cute! No matter which angle you look from she’s so cute!! As always, the twin tails are fitted with joints for even more posability! It’s nice to be able the change the hair a little bit!

And of course…

QB is also included!

Just look at the quality!! It’s the perfect rendition of QB! The little feet and everything are just perfect… even his puffy tail!

But there is even more to this QB! Σ（ﾟ∀ﾟ*）

His neck and tail are both posable!

The neck is on a ball joint and can be posed in all sorts of different ways, and the cute little tail has a joint that lets it wags so realistically! You can recreate all the wonderful QB scenes now!

Another QB is also included!

These head parts can also be exchanged with the other body, allowing for a number of different possibilities for the little white devil.

Plus you can make wonderful poses for Madoka!

This one makes use of two bend arms and a bent leg! You might have seen this pose before…

Isn’t QB’s expression just adorable? ^^
It’s amazing how close the Nendoroid version manages to recreate the illustration! Even down to the legs in the right position!

Anyway, enough about QB… let’s get back onto Madoka!

Aww, she is still cute even when she is angry!

A bow and arrow of light!

The bow and arrow Madoka uses in the latter of the series is included as an optional part! The arrow is made of clear plastic to make it look like it really is an arrow of light! Of course the hands to hold the bow are also included!

She also comes with a scribble face!

It is a rather unique face, isn’t it! The inspiration for this one actually came from this!

It’s an expression to recreate Madoka’s drawings of herself! xD

She is from the popular manga being serialized in Dengeki Daimaou – GUNSLINGER GIRL.

Apologies for the long wait!!
This was first displayed at WonFes some 2 years ago… and after a lot of fine tuning she is finally here!

This is the original illustration!

The black and white contrast is beautiful! It’s the illustration that was used for the 9th volume of Gunslinger Girl!

This is how she looks from the back!

She is wearing the tight-fitting coat that suits her so nicely! Isn’t it great that we can finally see the back of the illustration as well? The world of figures has many bonuses!!

It wouldn’t be Gunslinger Girls without the guns!

Triela stares ahead ready for anything while holding her gun closely! The actual Gunslinger Girl storyline is a bit of a sad story where these girls are made to fight, and I think the expression captured here shows both a bit of sadness as well as a kind of determination… it’s just the perfect expression for the series!

The gun is of course super-detailed!

Even the back end has careful stitching on the leather, and a slightly worn look to it. It also looks really heavy! 😛

Knees!

Normally this is about where I would attack from a lower angle, but I just couldn’t do that to the lovely Triela. (I even feel bad taking this photo of her….)

But the sculpting of those knees is incredible! They look so cute and lady-like!! They must be the absolute best knees I have ever seen on a figure!

Twin-tails!

Triela is well known for her long blond, twin-tailed hair! They are sculpted with lots of twists which give them a very dynamic feeling as if they’re blowing in the wind… I love sculpting like this!

Her coat and boots!

Triela is one of the more mature character in the corporation, and these boots really are there to prove that! The coat also has that slight ‘fluttering’ feeling to it which adds the dynamic feeling the hair gave.

A stand made to look like stone paving!

A nice stand that brings out the world of Gunslinger Girl!

Nendoroid Mayuri Shiina

Today I’ll be taking a look at a figure from an anime that’s currently airing!

From Steins;Gate, it’s…

Nendoroid Mayuri Shiina!

The figure is actually based on the original game that was made by Nitroplus and 5pb, but as I’m sure most of you now it’s also currently airing as an anime series! It’s the #1 must-watch from this season in my opinion!

This is of course the second Nendoroid from the Steins;Gate series, following on from Kurisu!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her cute, short hairstyle looks perfect in Nendoroid form! You can also just see the short jeans she is wearing underneath her one-piece – it adds a nice touch to her character.

Let’s move onto the optional parts…
First her hat, which can of course be removed!

Aww, she is so cute!! Seeing her like this makes me hear Kana Hanazawa’s voice over and over in my head… it’s so cute!

She also comes with a load of extra arm parts to play with!
First – an upward bent right arm!
If you think you’ve seen this pose before it’s very possible – it’s based on a pose she takes in the game!

A cheerful smiling face!

Even the eyebrows from huke’s original character design have been perfectly Nendorofied! Yay!

Plus a different set of bent arms!
This was yet another pose from the game! In fact, she did this one all the time!

Her other expression is a worried face!

Mayuri’s best food in the world! She also comes with a fork and a hands to hold it!

She also comes with a banana!

It’s rather appropriate that she comes with so many optional parts that involve food… ^^;

Just like Kurisu, she also has a cellphone!

When it comes to the Steins;Gate universe, this is one item that every character just has to have! It has a completely different color and shape to Kurisu’s cellphone!

Nendoroid Haru-chan

Sping! The season of cherry blossoms!

Today we’ll be taking a look at a figure who knows Spring better than anyone!
…and she will be going on sale very soon!

Nendoroid Haru-chan!

A Nendoroid of the ‘goddess of Spring’ that helps out when telling the weather on NHK TV’s ‘Newswatch 9′, as well as a character in NHK Online’s 4-panel web comic, “Haru-chan’s Weather Trivia’!

Simply put – she is a moe personification of Spring!

She comes with some interesting looking expressions as well as a ton of optional parts to play with! A carp streamer the same size as Haru-chan herself is even included… and some extra lower body parts that allow her to sit down… there is a load of fun to be had with this Nendoroid! 😀

Her blouse is fluttering in the wind… the perfect example of Spring! She makes use of one of the arm-type stands which stand her up very nice and securely!

By the way… this is the first publicly displayed image of the back of the carp streamer. 😛

Let’s move onto the optional parts!

An ideal pose for the Spring season!

I love it when I have a sample figure rather than the master figure… I can pose it without worrying so much! It’s so much more fun!

An adorable worried face!

Spring is well known for it’s thunderstorms in Japan, and this is the same expression that Haru-chan would have when reporting a Spring thunderstorm! Isn’t she just adorable!?

She also comes with ruffled hair and a rain wand!
During the thunderstorms the wind blows really hard and causes your hair to end up like this… the expression really suits the hair!

The carp streamer, and her… pet?

This is the little white kitty wanders around in Haru-chan’s room! Even his little tail is posable! Apparently the official name in of the pet actually includes the question mark… so it’s name is in fact ‘Pet?’.

You can also see she has ‘sitting parts’ and a ‘newspaper sword’!
These parts let you pose Haru-chan like this, riding the carp steamer valiantly!

The carp steamer actually caused quite a lot of trouble while being made… I think there was even some crying involved with the production team. Apparently each of the scales needed to be painted on one-by-one… I hope you survived, factory workers!

She also has a masked face!

This of course makes it look like poor Haru-chan has caught a cold…
Plus it looks hilarious on other characters!

Nendoroid Racing Miku 2011 ver.

This is GSR’s Yama-chan!

It’s quite hard to start a conversation with him at first, but once you get to know him he is a very nice guy! He has helped me out a lot at the register during events before! Thank you, Yama-chan!

Plus he has brought me a new figure to play with!
What a loveable soul…! I’ll have to get him something next time!

Today we’ll be taking a look at….
Nendoroid Racing Miku 2011 ver. !

Racing Miku is a character based off the original Miku that was created specially for the GT Project – and now she is joining the Nendoroid world again with a new design dubbed the ‘2011 ver’!

It’s the third design of Racing Miku so far!
This version was illustrated by YuiichiMurakami!

This is how she looks from the back!

The way that her design keeps changing is a lot of fun! I think the highlight of this version is the beautiful gradient in the hair…

We’ve used clear plastic to recreate the effect on the Nendoroid!

Her hair, skirt and hair accessories all have a transparent effect to them just like in the original illustration. Even the patterns on her skirt have been carefully painted in!

Right, let’s start taking a look at the optional parts!
A closed parasol and a bent left arm!

Racing Miku is of course a race queen – she has to have a parasol!! Wouldn’t you love to see Miku like this on the track?

An open parasol, and an outstretched left arm!

Racing Miku is a race queen! She has to able to open her parasol!! Plus it looks great – even the inside of the parasol is incredibly detailed!

She obviously also comes with the arms and hands to hold the parasol!

The parasol has a nice pattern on the top!

It features a silhouette of Racing Miku along with the logo! I really think this is going to be one Nendoroid to be remembered!

(At least, that’s the setting I’ve created for her :P)

At the moment it’s still a master figure so I’m not sure how well the expressions will be able to swap with other Nendos… but I hope they can!

Is being sold as a charity product in order to help those affected by the earthquake in Eastern Japan.

Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner! Cherry Blossom Ver!
I’ve already received some mail relating to the Spring season, so here they are!

I was headed out shopping when I opened up my window and noticed there was some snow! I headed out to the shops with Yui and my camera and found some cherry blossoms trying their hardest to bloom through the snow… the blossoms might have been a little chilly, but they were still just as beautiful as ever! (*´ー｀*)

Attached to this message you’ll find a little picture I took on my cellphone of some cherry blossoms. I had a Nendo Petite with me as well as my cellphone camera and they were just calling out for me to take a photo… (｀・ω・´)
I don’t think the blossoms are blooming all over the country just yet, and it might be a little harder than normal this year due to the earthquake… but I still hope you’ll do the Spring photos again this year!

There are some places that are holding off with going to see the cherry blossoms in light of recent events, but personally I think cherry blossoms are really important at a time like this. They are always there blooming for us no matter what the circumstances are!

If you can find the time on a day with good weather, consider taking your favorite Nendoroid down for a visit to see the blossoms and take some pictures! I’d love to have some more Nendoroid Cherry Blossom pictures to show!

1/8th Scale Tsubasa Hanekawa

Time to find out who guessed correctly…!

I’m sure many of you knew exactly who it was… she was even displayed during WonFes! (`･ω･´)ゞ

The 4th figure in the 1/8th scale Bakemonogatari series: 、

Tsubasa Hanekawa!

The previous figures from the series include Hitagi Senjougahara, Nadeko Sengoku and Suruga Kanbaru. Now the ‘girl enchanted by the cat’, Tsubasa Hanekawa is set to join them!

First you need to take a look at this picture…

The pose is again based on a DVD jacket image!

This is the front jacket of the 4th volume of the DVD/BD series, ‘Tsubasa Cat’. As always, you can see how incredibly close the figure is to the original illustration! That downward gaze is beautiful!

Let’s take a look from another side!

Keeping with the previous figures in the series, all the small extra parts and the stand are all beautifully detailed.

The school desk and chair, plus her shoe, show this off nicely!

The desk and chair are in fact made from 3D data, so they are disturbingly similar to a real table and chair! We’ll take a closer look at them at a later stage!

Now from another angle!

You can finally see the other sides of the illustration that were never visible before… such is the power of figures!! This picture was taken at a slightly higher angle than the illustration was at.

I have to say that the way she is sitting on the table on her knees creates a really sexy pose!!

Turn her a little bit clockwise!

These photos really give Tsubasa a nice mature feeling. It’s amazing how much she changes with just a little change in the angle of the picture!

She really is beautiful!

Her big shiny eyes look amazing on the figure, and the round glasses only add to her charm!

Alright, now it’s time onto some more risque photos!

First up… her finger tips!

Figures from anime often follow the ‘no wrinkle’ method to create a more anime-style look, but Tsubasa’s hands have a nice realistic touch to them. I also love the way her pinky is slightly apart from the other fingers!

Those are… big…!

And completely unrelated, but the wrinkles in her clothes are also really impressive!

My personal favorite shot!

Everything just adds up to such a sexy pose… from the missing right shoe to the slightly opened up legs… plus the hand holding her skirt down….

It’s what you’d see if she was in front of you on the stairs or escalator! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

If you try hard enough you might even get to see a little bit more!! 😛

The cellphone she used in the series!

Of course it even comes with the kitty strap attached. Just look at the detail!

Cat ear parts are also included!

They simply replace her normal fringe part – so you can pick whichever version you prefer! The cats on the desk are the cats included with figma Aya Kagura: School Uniform version. You can add them in for an even cuter effect!!

Tsubasa-nee with no glasses!

Ooh… she looks even more mature now! You can also remove the glasses on the normal hair – so the choice is really entirely up to you.

Which means you can have cat ears with glasses too!!

This figure series really does put a lot of work into the extra and stand!

This time the stand is a table and desk…

Just look at the quality!

It really looks like it’s made out of wood! There is no way this was hand painted!

But then… how was it painted…?

It’s printed on with a printer!

This new printer can print directly onto figures!
Unfortunately if the area is too thick or has too many curves it won’t work nicely… but for things like the chair above, it’s perfect!

Nendoroid Nemu Asakura

Today I’ll be taking a look at:

Nendoroid Nemu Asakura!

Nemu is the main heroine in the romance adventure game ‘D.C ~Da. Capo~’, which was recently also released on PSP!

This is how the packaging looks!

A total of three expressions. (･∀･)ﾉ

She also comes with the Da Capo mascot ‘Utamaru’ and a bunch of extra arm parts!

This is how she looks from the back!

The trademark yellow ribbon in her hair can be moved backwards and forwards!

As you can see, Nemu makes use of the popular ‘arm-type’ stand!

Onto the optional parts!

A bent left arm, a pointing hand and her school bag!

This set of parts recreates the atmosphere of Nemu heading toward school! She also comes with the D.C. mascot, Utamaru…. and even though he is absolutely tiny, his neck is still posable!

A blushing, smiling face!

It’s a little boastful for me to say it… but I really think I got this posing and photo perfect! Don’t you think it looks adorable?!
This pose also uses a different bent left arm, which creates a nice embarrassed looking pose like this one! You can also pose her combing her hand through her hair by twisting the left arm upwards!

The AFTER BANANA Face!

This is the face Nemu has in the mini game called ‘AFTER BANANA’. This is an expression for the fans! ^^

It also suits other characters quite well!

It’s finally Spring!!

April is here, which means a new anime season is upon us!

I got the chance to visit the dubbing session for the upcoming anime ‘DOG DAYS’, which is made by the same team that did Lyrical Nanoha!

Animation is done by Seven Arcs with original work and scenario created by Masaki Tsuzuki! It’s the perfect team for a great anime!

Not to mention that I even managed to get some comments from some of the cast!

While playing your characters, what parts of the characters have you found the most interesting?

Miyano
Shinku is a 13 year old middle school student, but when I’m voicing him I was told I should worry less about the age and should focus more on speaking with spirit. He has a really strong will and it’s conveyed through his words very nicely.Personally I also like the fact that he is portrayed as a real ‘hero’ should be. When something needs to be done, he does it, and he has the typical hero characteristic of wanting to protect others. I think that straight appeal as a hero is a great point to him.

On the other hand, he is also a little clumsy, and has his fair share of scenes such as bumping into Eclair or peeping in on the princess while she is bathing, or accidentally ripping Eclair’s clothes…. on that end that clumsiness is fairly fun as well. All in all I’m certain he is a character everyone will enjoy watching!

Horie
Millhi-chan has a very pure and gentle personality which I find very cute. Whenever the team wins a battle she sometimes bursts out in song, which I think is a very appealing part of her character. I’m sure if there was a concert for her she would be singing for everyone.
