Last Post for 2014 ★ Thank you so much for a great year!

Good day to you all.

Kaho-tan, here!  (＠gsc_kahotan)  And even though I eat plenty of sweets as it is, I’m afraid of looking at the scale for the next few days.

But as they say, you grow a bit more with each passing year!  (Be that in width.)

Well then, today is the very last post of 2014!  (｀・ω・´)

I’d like to thank you all for reading the Kaho-tan blog this year!

We’ll do something a bit different than last year, and finish off this year’s blog with the interview of 3 certain individuals.

We’ll take a look back at the top ranking blog entries and best selling products next year!

So, on to the first interviewee!

Here he is, supporting Good Smile’s very first domestic factory (Lucky Factory), and with a magnificently husky voice!


【Tori-Bird】（Lucky Factory, GSC Manufacturing Dept.）

 

1　Please share with us again your thoughts on being stationed at Lucky Factory!
Up until now, figure production was entrusted entirely to Chinese factories.  We want to thoroughly manage the manufacturing process, to continue making a consistent finished product – we do have a lot of assurance in our factories now, but we’ve also begun to realize that there are technological constraints.  In order to continue making figures in the future, we’ve got to be able to control every aspect of the manufacturing process.  In addition to understanding the costs and turnover time, we must also continue improving product quality.  The talk of Lucky Factory couldn’t have come at a better time, and I immediately asked to be transferred.In order to prove myself to the people at Good Smile who trusted me with the position, as well as to everyone who has high hopes for the domestic factory, I promise to put all I’ve got into creating products you can be proud of!

Tori-bird：

I’m always take things seriously! lol

But it’s also due to the fact that I have to talk in front of so many people recently!

Of course, taking something on like this means you have to do be diligent about a myriad of things.

Tori-Bird has such a smooth way with words that at the Factory Grand Opening live webcast, someone made the comment, “Is he some TV personality!?”

And though I wish I could have his eloquence, I hope I can learn something from him as a senpai.  (whispers)

 

Let’s move on to the next question.

 

２　Lucky Factory has finally opened!  What’s it like there now?Though we continue to train people for the production of our very first product, the speed at which the factory workers gain skill is a total surprise!Gradation painting in particular is incredibly difficult, so I thought it would be an uphill battle, but even people who had never touched an airbrush before in their life can now beautifully execute brushwork.  We only have about 40 people, which is still on the low side, but they continue to exchange ideas on how to improve product quality, so it’s a very passionate atmosphere.

That’s for sure!

I met all of the workers at the Factory Grand Opening, and they were all like, “We’re all in this together, to make this a factory from the ground up!”  A sense unity and mutual understanding seemed to come naturally to them. ε=(｡・д・｡)

 

Tori-Bird：

The factory manager, Mr. Kakuda, and Haryu and I may form the core, but all of the factory workers are out there putting in a lot of effort, too, so there’s this feeling that we’re all working hard together, which makes me quite happy.

Now for one final question. (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

 

3　It looks like you’ll have a challenging year ahead of you, but what hopes do you have for 2015? First off, I want to make sure that Nendoroid Sakura Miku: Bloomed in Japan ships out in March without a hitch.  This will be the very first product manufactured in Japan, so we’re finalizing the production schedule to make sure that everyone can have a product they’ll be satisfied with.

Next up they’ll be manufacturing the figma Horse (Chestnut), and figma Horse (White), but future items are already in consideration and underway.  I hope that Lucky Factory products arrive with a standard of quality enough to be recognized as a brand in their own right this year!

Based on the idea that “no matter where you are in the world, you always see the same moon,” every factory established by Good Smile up until this point has had the word “moon” in it.  (Even our domestic factory – the “Tsuki” in “Rakutsuki” Lucky Factory is this very moon.)

Even if we’re separated by great distances, “We want to distribute superior products around the world, and bring smiles to as many people as possible.”  This core principle has never changed. (｀・ω・´)

We hope you’re looking forward to what’s in store at Lucky Factory, too!

And with Wonder Festival rapidly approaching, there seems to be something special in the works that involves Lucky Factory, too… !!

Moving on to our next subject!

The second person we’d like to share a few words with is this person, (in conversation style rather than Q&A) ♪

Head of the company that boasts such notorious members as Nitohei Kaneko and IG Sakai, it’s the President of Max Factory!

 

【Max Watanabe】（President and CEO of Max Factory）

【1st Topic】What kind of year was this for you?

 

I suppose this was a year we were able to release a lot of figma.  As for statues, we had quite a few challenging ones, including Yamato Kai: Heavy Armament Ver. but despite all that hard work, there were still a few complaints about how things have gotten so expensive…  And handling that concern will be a priority for us next year.

 

Kaho：　You also invested a lot of work into the development of Dougram and other plastic models this year.

As far as plastic models are concerned, yes.  As one who’s also known as a “Modeling Superstar,” you could say it’s my passion.  I think our projects now are ones where you can use the modifiers “at last” and “long awaited!”

Kaho：　Would you say that the addition of Taishou Shimizu (@shimizu_mxf)  (from the plastic model field) to Max Factory was a significant contributing factor?

From kit development all the way to after care, substantially moving along product planning, he definitely has a lot of pride in his work.  And as a comprehensive hobby manufacturer, we want to slowly expand into other fields via our products.  We have a long and close relationship with the plastic model field, and based on that we wish for this to be one of mainstays moving forward.

Kaho：Would you say that you laid the foundation for that mainstay this year?

To be honest, I’d that still lies ahead of us.  Even among plastic models there are various categories, but for now we’re just focusing on lineups.  Some from this series, some from that – that’s how we’re moving forward.  But our very first series, the “Fang of the Sun Dougram” series was well received, which gave us momentum.  Nonetheless, I still think we have a long way to go.  We’re currently developing a product for release at Wonder Festival next year, so I’d say that we’re continuing to move forward one step at a time, building our lineup.

Kaho： Aside from the company, how was the year for you personally?

I think you could say that I built way too many models!  I really threw myself into it – and though this kind of bleeds into next year, I hope to cut down a bit in 2015.  We had the Dougram of course, but as I made a lot of appearances in hobby publications this year, and it seems that I’m known even more widely as “That old guy who likes plastic models”…  But even so, I plan to tone it down a bit next year!　

 

 

【2nd Topic】figFIX debuted this year? What was the idea behind it… ?

 

The idea behind it…  there were so many elements that spurned the birth of the figFIX, to go into details would take forever… lol  But one of the reasons I mentioned earlier, which is the price of “static” figures.  With the continued cheapening of the Japanese Yen, production costs suddenly rose, and it’s impossible foresee how long it will continue.

 

Kaho：　But if that’s the case, then there’s still the possibility for static figures to become less and less attainable.

We’ve got to eliminate that concern, and offer them at an affordable price, but we also want to have a statue series with remarkable quality and high collect-ability now more than ever!  And it’s the vibe we’ve been getting from fans, too.  This has been in production for a while, but it’s only now coming to light.

 

Kaho：　There really are all kinds of people getting into figures nowadays, too.

We’ve always put a lot of thought into people who are so-called “light-users,” so to be honest, we’ve never solely made products for core fans.  This especially goes for fully-assembled and painted products, like scale figures and figma – we make things that people can enjoy and play with today that will still be there tomorrow, so I don’t think we’re losing focus on that core concept at all.

Kaho：　Does that apply to plastic models as well?

That’s a good question.  We try to make them so that they assemble quickly and easily, but if that doesn’t appeal to some I hope they at least like the box art.  Of course, there’s also a well-established group of people who take plastic models to the extreme, and we want to have a product that they’ll enjoy, too!

Kaho：　Would you say that figFIX is a mainly product for figma fans?

I would say just that – it’s a product for figma fans to take home and look at and collect dust.  I want them to say, “It’s so cute even if it isn’t poseable!”  I want them to have poses that a figma can’t do, to manifest the beauty of a statue but at an affordable price – and therein is the merit of the figFIX.  We know there were customers out there saying, “I’ve really been wanting this,” and I hope we’ve been able to strike a chord with them.

Kaho：　I’m sure they’re looking forward to where you take this series next year!

This is ultimately a product for the customer; it’s up to them to decide, but we here at Max Factory are really committed to it and want to continue!

【3rd Topic】What do you think next year holds in store? 

 

With the figFIX and plastic models, I think we’re able to show everyone products that were a bit out of the ordinary this year, but we want to continue in this direction moving forward, offering slightly different products as well as product categories.  I think in 2015 we’ll have people saying, “I had no idea you could do that!” with the products we have in store, so please stay tuned!
As for me personally, I think I want to do everything I can to cooperate with and support Lucky Factory in Tottori Prefecture.  This is one project that absolutely cannot fail, so I want to do my part and lend them all my energy.  More saying that it’s “Made in Japan,” showing the world that we can make these products at this this price, and with this level of quality is something that we as a manufacturer want to say with unwavering confidence.  Even domestically, manufacturing requires a high level of attention and is hard work.  Which is exactly why I want as much a hand in it as possible.Who knows – I may even be in Tottori myself next year! lol

 

I never really have the opportunity to speak much with Mr. Max, so I really enjoyed the conversation!

【Takanori Aki】（Good Smile Company President and CEO）

【1st Topic】What kind of year was this for you?

 

A pretty uneventful one!

 

Kaho　：　Really?!


The figure industry has been undergoing a gradual shift since sometime last year.  For example, people aren’t after this-and-that a figure, but now they want “something with extra features.”  We ourselves have united with animation teams, and thought up various experiments we can try together, and have taken a new look at the industry to figure out the best way to move forward.  Maybe you could say that we’re still in preparation, or that we’re going into preservation mode.  So there wasn’t really a lot of output this year – doesn’t that make it rather boring?

 

Kaho：　But we had so many new projects this year… !

“Let’s establish a domestic factory!”  “Let’s try the Red Bull Air Race!”  I told you about these projects, right?  We really wanted to do something that was totally original and unique, but none of these things have reached fruition… Even the factory won’t release any products until next spring, and the Red Bull Air Race is next May.  That feels like a long way off.

Kaho：　I guess you could say that most of these things won’t be realized until 2015.

Yes, exactly!  This is related to what I was talking about earlier, we’ve recently crossed the bounds of the figure world, and have increased our friends in the animation world via USP (Ultra Super Pictures).  We joined forces with various teams this year, so I guess you could say it was a year of beginnings.  And through the blessings of all these new friends, many of those projects are about to take off.

Kaho：　I guess you could say you have more people at your side, watching your back?

I would.  And thanks to these associates, we’re able to conduct trial projects on a large scale.  Some projects that have been underway for many years are finally becoming a reality.  Talking to everybody and taking a look at what’s out there in the world, I think we’re about to head out and say, “Alright, this is it!”  And I think this year was one of those years where we laid the groundwork.

 

Kaho：　I get the feeling that more and more projects are on the move!

What would you say the year was like for you personally?

I really went so many different places this year… I think I traveled farther and met more people than ever before.

Kaho：　There were quite a few stretches where you were out of the office!

In Japan and all over the world.  But I think the people I met will play a big factor in what to come next year and the year after that.  And of course, I also visited the factory in Tottori!

【2nd Topic】Lucky Factory in Tottori Prefecture is officially open… !

 

 

We said we’d establish a domestic factory, and we did it!  It really was a profound moment for me.  And the impact the Tottori Regional Governor had on me was surprising, too – lol!

 

Kaho：　I was there with him on the live webcast, but he was even more enthusiastic than the rumors!

Maybe you can say it’s something of the local color, but you really get the sense that people there are good people.  I participated in the factory staff interview process, and everyone was earnest and hardworking.  It’s just one more thing that lets me khow Tottori was the right choice.

Kaho：　I think that Factory Manager Kakuda, as well as Tori-Bird and Haryu all adjusted to the move very quickly.

The surrounding environment and people there have all been very kind to them, but all of them are extremely positive minded!  Especially Kakuda – he’s been involved the establishment of many factories, so he’s reliable.  I think we have some great people on board.

Kaho：　I think everyone at Oshiage wants to work together with those at Tottori do the absolute best we can!

Speaking of working together, we’re receiving the assistance of all kinds of manufacturers at Lucky Factory.  They even interviewed factory workers with us.  And are instructing them in various manufacturing techniques.

Kaho：　Even in the interviews… !  You don’t say!

When we said Good Smile will make a domestic factory, some said, “Whoa!”  But I think others said, “Can you really do it?”  Of course we can do it.  We have allies we can depend on (manufacturers who have been with us for a long time).  Knowing that we’re not in this alone is reassuring, even if being in the figure industry is a challenge… Even if there are pressures, I think one of our greatest strengths is turning that into a drive to work harder.

Kaho：　It’s like everyone has a hand in creating Lucky Factory… I look forward to what the future holds in store!

I do, too.  For one thing, at Lucky Factory we’re incorporating all of the know-how acquired from Chinese figure manufacturing, but what I’m really looking forward to is what happens after that.

Kaho：　By which you mean… ?

Figuring it out as we go along.  There will probably be things that we realize for the first time ever manufacturing in Japan, and we may find that other aspects are more difficult.  Some of this may be influenced by the start of a new year, but while preparing for manufacture and making all the last adjustments, we’re moving forward into actual production.  Some of it may be a fumble at first, but because this is Lucky Factory I want it to be simply the best, most advanced place it can be.

【3rd Topic】What do you think 2015 has in store?

 

All sorts of things we’ve been preparing are about to make their way into the world, so I hope it goes well.  Most of these things are totally new, so there are unknown variables, but we still want to pitch at full strength.  We’ll be happy if they’re received well, but if it doesn’t work out we’ll try again.  So many people have gotten involved in these projects, and for their sake we’ll make no compromises.  And even though we’ll probably try all sorts of new things next year, we still have even more new projects to undertake.  I invite you all to sit back and enjoy the show!

Kaho：　It all starts with Wonder Festival!  We’re going to have all sorts of new developments in store!

“Nice work, Admiral!” Paying a Visit to the Popular “Mamiya Sweets Cafe!”

Good day to you all.

Kaho-tan here (＠gsc_kahotan), and I just can’t wait to watch Home Alone.

I want to eat ice cream to my heart’s content just like Kevin does in the movie… !

Moving on!  Today I was deployed out into the holiday decked streets to visit the “Kantai Collection -KanColle-” collaboration cafe that’s being held at the GOOD SMILE x animate Cafe – “Mamiya Sweets Cafe!”  Here’s the full report!

I love how she can say the most despicable things with a cute face♥︎

 

First we’ll take a look at the entrance!

There’s snow piling up here and there! ε=(｡・д・｡)

You get a sense for staff’s playfulness and attention to detail right from the entrance♪

And as you walk in, a hand-drawn Mamiya and Irako are there to greet you♥︎

Rensouhou-chan’s lifebuoy wreath is so cute, too!  

It’s even decorated with a “Zekamashi” bunny-ear styled hairband… ! (*Ze-ka ma-shi ➡ Ka-ze shi-ma!)

Oh, one more thing before I forget!

So, we went right to our seats and got to orderingヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

There’s an exclusive menu, featuring items that were created with special consideration for each KanColle character’s history!!!

Let’s take a look at the food!!

They all look so delicious…! (Drools) 

Out of all the KanColle girls, Suwabe especially likes Kumano, so she went for the “Kumano Steak.”

I had a really hard time deciding, but as I could detect the scent of a delicious curry wafting over from a nearby table, I ordered the “Kongo Sisters’ Curry,” and since this is a sweets cafe after all, I went for the dessert with the most volume and ordered the “Irako Set,” too (σ・∀・)σ

Now let’s take a look at the drinks!

Suwabe ordered the “Yuubari’s Various Effort Melon Soda,” an unusual combination of melon syrup, soda, and melon ice cream, and being a fan of the enemy fleet, I ordered the “Wo-Class Black Sesame Soy Milk.”♥

And as it was cold outside, a “KanKolle Art Latte” to warm up!

…Oh, dear… We really did order a lot… (This happens every time)

When you’re ready to order, you use the sheet that’s on the table, putting tally marks to indicate how many of each item you want to order, and then call over a staff member.

Don’t worry, the waitress will read off everything you’ve ordered to make sure there aren’t any mistakes. φ(．． )

The paper napkin holder is so Christmas-y☆

By the way – The waitstaff will bring you your first glass of water, but from there on out it’s self-serve! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Look for the Natago wall scroll in the self-service area to find your way!

 

Right next to it is the staff door leading to the kitchen…  but it says “critical hit!”

It’s on the service trays, too…!

They’ve covered every little nook and cranny!  I love it!

Though I can’t provide an image to accompany this description, every single table is covered in adorable decorations, so when you go to visit be sure to check it out! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

Since this “Kamiya Sweets Cafe” is a collaboration event, every menu item you order comes with a prize!

And that prize is one of 18 different KanColle coasters♡

They’re handed out at random, so you can wait in anticipation of which girl you’ll get! (/ω＼)

Getting excited about who it might be, I took a look around the shop until my drink arrived!

 

All the wall scrolls and illustrations look so cute hanging on the walls. ♥︎

Oh!  And the first image in this post is a Christmas tree in front of the stage, with Mamiya and Irako cut-outs! ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ

To the left and right of the stage are display cases, showing off Good Smile Company’s newest figures as well as ones that are already on sale.

There’s also a “Junhyou Laughing Beer Mug” for sale at the corner, but if you order a draft beer it will be served in the glass, which will be more fun♥︎

While I was busy doing this and that, the drinks arrived!

 

And each one of them came with a random coaster!

Each coaster features not one but two girls♪  I like the sound of that! (whispers)

The “Wo-Class Black Sesame Soy Milk” was delicious, with lightly sweetened whipped cream, richly fragrant black sesame, and mild soy milk blending to create the perfect flavor.  (gulp, gulp!)

How about yours Suwabe?

What does the “Yuubari’s Various Effort Melon Soda” taste like!?

(・∀・) This is a true melon soda…!  The refreshing taste of the melon syrup and soda water provides the perfect compliment to the creamy melon ice cream.

After that I was like – hey, let me try it!  The melon soda flavor was as melon-y as an actual melon.  (Excuse my lack of vocabulary.)

If you’re wondering what that tastes like, I hope you’ll try it ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ

Just as the latte with the anchor art floating on top had warmed me up…  the food arrived!

This is the “Kongo Sisters’ Curry!”♪

To my delight, Kirishima and Haruna were on the coaster prize!!

Just as I was thinking that must mean today is my lucky day (not really), I realized that the coaster that came with Suwabe’s “Kumano Steak” also had Kirishima and Haruna!!

 

Just as you’d expect from something that’s handed out at random, but I still got a kick out of how it was contrary to my expectations!

In addition to the all the food and things on display, this is one more thing you can enjoy at the cafe ♪

Now let’s review how it tasted!

“Kongo Sisters’ Curry”

It wasn’t all that hot, but the spices were delicious!

And the chicken on top of the curry was very filling.

As there was plenty of rice on the plate, I’d also recommend this dish to anyone who’s in the mood for a big meal!

“Kumano Steak”　

Even more meat than I was anticipating!

And you can really taste how juicy it is☆

The sauce was also tasty so I finished all bread and vegetables that came with it, nearly licking my plate clean ♪


Just as we were reminiscing about how delicious it was and how full we were… the waitstaff asked if they should bring over dessert! 

We had completely forgotten!　Σ(･ω･ﾉ)ﾉ！

So last but not least, Suwabe and I became dessert buddies to finally try the “Irako Monaka Set!”

As you can see, it was super cute and fancy! (´□｀｡)♡

By mere coincidence, the coaster that came with it featured Akashi, whose hair color was the same color as the heart-shaped monaka!

There was whipped cream spread on the bottom of the monaka and waffle cup, to prevent them from sliding off of the plate…!  What work of art… !

The green tea ice cream inside the waffle cup was slightly sweet, so we gobbled it right up!  Isn’t it mysterious that there’s always room for dessert!

The red bean paste and rice dumpling monaka and the berries and whipped cream monaka tasted completely different, adding to the variety.

You could eat it all by yourself, or share it with that (those?) someone (someones?) special!

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the cafe!

Christmas Day is finally upon us!

My family actually celebrated yesterday, so Christmas for me is already over!

However, it looks like things are just only starting to begin elsewhere in the world! (Gazes into the distance)

Well…

Prior to this, we solicited “2014 Winter Header Image” entries via Kaho’s Post Office!

And we received a whole lot of entries!

I made an announcement today via Twitter as well, but the Christmas themed header that I’ll be using both today and tomorrow will be this photo by Luka! ♪

There’s nothing more wintery than Christmas! Rin-chan once again wanted to wait up to meet Santa this year, but it looks like sleep got the better of her…

 

That’s just too adorable!! ε=(｡・д・｡)

And the Nendoroid Dress-Up Pajamas were just perfect for this situation♥︎

But that’s not all!

From the day after Christmas, I’ll be using this photo by Leonoph as the header image.

On my way to the Winter Wonder Festival in February of this year, I took a photo of this special attack.

 

Even with her pouty face, Snow Miku is just so cute♥︎

There was a big snow storm that Wonder Festival… I hope the weather is better next year…!

All of the photos we received were truly spectacular, so narrowing it down to these few entries was really hard work…!

It very rarely snows in Chiba Prefecture, so realizing that this was my chance I ran outside and got to shooting. 

But naturally, since it was snowing outside, it was so cold that my shutter hand was shivering – lol.

I’d also like to thank Miku for holding up in the cold weather as my model.

Kaho-tan here (＠gsc_kahotan), and I’m in a bit of a mad panic that the year’s almost over.

I can’t hide my surprise after noticing that there’s only one more Sunday left…!

Well, it’s time to move on!  Today we’ll be taking a look at the product announced on today’s live broadcast…

“Nendroid Tomoyo Daidouji”♥︎

 

From the manga masterpiece ‘Cardcaptor Sakura’ comes a Nendoroid of Sakura-chan’s best friend, Tomoyo Daidouji! She comes with three expressions including her standard expression, a sweet smiling expression, and an expression with sparking eyes for when she talks about Sakura-chan! Her video camera is also included for her to capture Sakura-chan’s every movement!Tomoyo has been sculpted wearing her Tomoeda Elementary School uniform with her hat included, which can also used with Nendoroid Kinomoto Sakura to display her in her school uniform! Be sure to add this cute little Tomoyo to your collection!

Her luscious hair and soft gaze that seems to envelop, holding her trusty video cam as to not let one precious moment with Sakura-chan slip away ♡

Sakura’s most dear and trusted friend Tomoyo Daidouji has become even more small and cute♪

I can’t tell you how excited I am to see a girl I admire as much as Tomoyo transformed into a Nendoroid like this…!  (said with profound emotion)

The way everything about Tomoyo exudes grace, the way she’s so thoughtful of others, and the way she wishes for absolutely nothing but Sakura’s happiness…

I read the manga when I was in the 6h grade, but it wasn’t until I was a adult that I was able to fully understand what Tomoyo meant by letting the one you love find true happiness even if it doesn’t involve you.

Of course, there’s also that more glittery side of “Cardcaptor Sakura,” with magic and cute costumes, but for me it was also the first manga to teach me some life lessons.

Even when I re-read it, I can’t put it down for a second!  On the contrary, now that I’m older I can understand why Xiao Long acts the way he does!  And I can’t wait to read it again!

Whoops, looks like I got king of carried away there… ヽ(;´ω｀)ノ

In addition to her standard expression, Tomoyo just wouldn’t be complete without this expression right here!

That’s right!

A sweet smiling expression♡

With a look like that on her face, it’s got to be either Sakura or Kero-chan that she’s filming… !

And seeing her smile like this is most certainly adorable, but for some reason it’s also so calming.

It has some sort of mysterious power over me, like an magic spell.

Somewhere inside of all that cuteness, I hope you also get a sense of her dependability.

In addition, a removable hat from her school uniform is also included!

The hat is the most vital part of the Tomoeda Elementary School Uniform! (At least to me.)

Just like Sakura’s hat, it features magnets for a no-nonsense perfect fit!♪

Another thing I want you to check out is her front hair portion… ＜○＞＜○＞

Do you see is…  Yes, that’s right!

She also has a front hair  portion with a headband, for when she isn’t wearing her hat!

If you equip the hat while she has her front bangs with the hair band on, the headband will stick out in front of the hat, due to the Nendoroid design.

I wanted to avoid that… !

But at the same time I wouldn’t settle for a Tomoyo without a headband… !

So in the end, we’ve included 2 different front hair portions (´□｀｡)

This really was nothing more than me being selfish…  But I hope you’ll all forgive me!

By the way, we intend to have the side section of her hair made with a flexible material, so she’ll be easy to pose even when she’s holding her video camera.

And believe it or not, the preview screen portion on her video camera opens and closes, and even has the screen detail ー(σ・∀・)σ

Here you can see it open, but you can also close it like in the very first picture in this post, so have fun (●´ω｀●)

Oh, Oh!  And, and, and…

The third and final expression you’ve been waiting for is… !

a “Starry Eyed Face!” ♥︎

We based this design on Tomoyo’s expression as she tells Sakura-chan how cute she is!

To see that sparkle in her eyes as she talks is just too cute!  You’re just too cute, Tomoyo-chan!!

Here she is as she looks on at Sakura with video camera in hand♪

Tomoyo stands by Sakura’s side with the camera rolling, even during battles, lending Sakura more courage…!

Tomoyo is always smiling so demurely, but seeing her indulge like this is something you won’t want to miss (*´Д｀)=з

In other words, you can pair her with Nendoroid Sakura Kinomoto, on sale now, for even more “Cardcaptor Sakura” fun ♡

Here you can see Tomoyo quietly watching over Sakura as she runs into Yukito and gets all dreamy☆

And on top of that, there’s one more way super fun way for her to play with Sakura-chan that I definitely want you to try…!

For some reason I just couldn’t stop thinking about how it would look for Sakura to be in her school uniform…
So we’ve also included a special attachment part for the hat to enable Nedoroid Kinomoto Sakura to wear Nendoroid Tomoyo Daidouji’s Tomoeda Elementary school uniform hat! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

There’s a special black band portion on the hat for each figure, so no matter which one of them is wearing it, it’s a perfect fit!

 

You will have to borrow the school uniform body from Tomoyo, for now, but I hope you’re all looking forward to a school uniform version of Sakura so they can be in uniform together.

The uniform’s characteristic pointed collar and school emblem on the sleeve, the hem of her white skirt and ribbon on her hat fluttering in the breeze ♪

I think it’s sort of difficult to appreciate with Tomoyo’s long and flowing hair, but the uniform preserves every bit of cuteness in the original in SD Nendoroid style!

I hope you’ll all take some time to appreciate how well her uniform is made once you’ve taken her home (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

“Deploying for Battle Next Week!” Nendoroid Kirishima ♪

Good day to you all!

It’s me, Kaho-tan! (＠gsc_kahotan)
Did I ever tell you that I love girls with glasses?

And for this very reason, even now I fondly remember interviewing at an optometrist after graduating from university… !

Moving on – today we’ll be taking a look at

Nendoroid Kirishima!

 

From the popular browser game ‘Kantai Collection -KanColle-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the 4th Kongo-class battleship, Kirishima! She comes with both a microphone and a megaphone to represent her famous ‘mike check’ introduction line from the game!Various shooting effect parts are also included to chase down her enemies, and once she has caught up she also comes with punching effect parts for some close combat! Type 3 Shell’s are also included, along with the bullets inside the shells for even more effect! Last but not least, she also comes with a sofa to display her relaxing at tea time with her sisters!

 

OOOOOMMMMMMGGGGGG(*´Д｀)=з

The youngest of the 4 Kongo-Class sisters – Kirishima is so cute and chibi!

Black hair, short cut, glasses – easily her 3 best features brought forth in all their majesty in Nendoroid form♥︎

And the shrine maiden style attire worn by all the sisters is simply perfect as well!

Alright, let’s spin her around for a peek from behind… |oﾟдﾟ）

Just like Hiei, her armament has an “x-shaped arm” design for a wide range of movement.

And at the base at each of the 4 arms is a Nendoroid joint, allowing for vertical, horizontal, diagonal, and pretty much any kind of movement φ(．． )

The artillery portions pivot on an axle, so you can spin them around to aim in any direction!

Now let’s take a look at her accessories!

“How’s the volume…? Check, check, 1,2 …. Alright, let’s go.“

This is Kirishima, after all!  So she wouldn’t be complete without a microphone to recreate her mic-check pose!

Imagine that the armament behind her is speakers, and she looks kind of like a TV announcer, doesn’t she… !

On top of that!  In addition to the mic, we’ve also added one of these! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

A megaphone★

If you equip it together with her gallant expression, you can have Kirishima acting as the “brains of the battleships,” giving orders to the fleet ♡

Kirishima is sure to prefer the voice projection of the megaphone over the microphone as well… !

But, you can also give that valiant stance a 180… (｀・ω・´)

 

If you combine her distressed half-damaged expression together with her munitions and guns ablaze, you have Kirishima in the midst of heated battle!

She looks so brave, I love it… !  (Kaho’s inner voice)

And depending on the angle, it could look like she’s about to throw the anti-aircraft shells clutched in her hands (*ﾟｰﾟ*)

That’s not all!  Just as all of you were keen to notice, the anti-aircraft shells of course

have mid-explosion versions included as well!

When moving into offensive mode, it seems more like a battlefield scene ♪

 

(・∀・) “And speaking of special effects, check this out!”

 

I know this is sudden and all, but allow me to introduce Planning Director Kyojin!

 

(・∀・) “Inspired by the actual history of the Kirishima, which on a few occasions was used as a weapon itself to ram other ships in battle, I decided to include this punching effect part!”

…Very feminine (very physical)!

A close combat version using the recoil from her cannons to pack that extra punch…  all I can say is I should have known(/ω＼)

 

(・∀・) “Of all the Kan-Colle girls, isn’t Shimakiri the only one that could come with a punch effect?”

Oh, right!  Kirishima is one of the 4 Kongo sisters, so…

Doesn’t that mean she’ll come with one really big accessory like Nendoroid Kongo  and Nendoroid Hiei …!?

(・∀・) “Of course she will!  Here it is!!”

No way, is that a sofa!!! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

 

(・∀・) “The seat portion slides forward, so you can insert the flowing cloth portions on the back of her costume inside the gap.”

So that’s how it works! Inserting the back layers of her costume into the gap acts a a support to make her sit firmly in place on the sofa (*´Д｀)=з

(・∀・) “As the back layers of her costume are fixed in place, I think this design allows for the end user to enjoy more stress-free posing. “

And if she were to join Kongo and Heiei, their tea party would become even more extravagant… !

And it seems that “Nendoroid Haruna,” who will complete the sisters, is going to come with so many amazing accessories, too – I know we all can’t help but wait with baited breath!

 

(・∀・) “We discussed this a bit during the live broadcast, but the reason that Shimakiri was released after Hiei is because… We haven’t quite finished designing Haruna yet… !”

 

That really speaks of Admiral Kyoji’s passion!  Don’t you think!  Σ(･ω･ﾉ)ﾉ

 

(・∀・) “Unfortunately, that is the case.  I’m sure a lot of people were really concerned about it, but we all know it’s in good hands!  And she’s in development as we speak!”

I’m really looking forward to the day when all 4 Kongo sisters can be together ♪

(・∀・) “One last thing!  We’ve made Shimakiri’s trademark glasses so that you can take them off. “

To think – you can finally see what she looks like without her glasses!

This is a rare glimpse seldom seen ＜○＞＜○＞

(・∀・) “And in addition to the glasses with lenses that you see here, we also plan to include glasses that are just the frames!  You’ll probably find different purposes for each, so we hope you’ll just roll with it and have fun.”

With so many accessories that really show off her personality, enjoy putting her in all sorts of situations!

Vita: Swimsuit ver.

I left my scarf at home today and am rather depressed about it. I just know the way home is going to be freezing without it!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at Gift’s 1/4th scale… ♪

Vita: Swimsuit ver.☆

From ‘Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A’s’ comes a figure of Vita wearing a cute bikini! Be sure to display her with the previously released Nanoha Takamachi: Swimsuit Ver., Fate Testarossa: Swimsuit Ver. and Hayate Yagami: Swimsuit Ver.!

Oooooooooooohhhh!! ヽ(´ω｀*)ノ

Known as the ‘Crimson Iron Rider’ as well as the ‘Knight of the Iron Hammer’, Vita is joining the 1/4th scale collection of Nanoha swimsuit figures!! 

Her Armed Device, the ‘Black Iron Count’ Graf Eisen held in one hand, with a watermelon in the other! The figure’s pose is brazen with confidence, reflecting Vita’s personality beautifully! ♪

Her outfit is filled with frills  and the combination of black edges to the red makes sure the colors aren’t too vivid!

This is the 4th figure in Gift’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha swimsuit series! ♥︎

Anyway, let’s get back to Vita!

This is how she looks from the back!!

All the ups and downs along her back and hips together with the area that joins the thighs to her bottom are all amazingly sculpted! She has a rather slender body, but it still has a nice touchable feeling to it!! 

This area really caught my attention while taking photos!

Look at the details on her stomach!

Not to mention that she is a lovely 1/4th scale, which means a nice long body to run your fingers along and feel all the intricate little bumps!

She also has an expression overflowing with confidence, ready to take on the world! It captures her personality so nicely!  (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

 It’s a little heard to see here, but her moe fang has been faithfully included! ♪

Her healthy looking legs are also a lovely sight! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

Her body has such a youthful appearance to it!

She definitely has a very different build to the other character that have been released from the series, adding a whole new kind of charm to the collection! I can’t wait to display her together with the other characters! ε=(｡・д・｡)

Her thick braided hair has also been beautifully sculpted! ♥︎

Her soft skin contrasts with the shiny, hard appearance of the watermelon – they have been painted differently to show the difference in textures! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

You’ll have to wait until she is in your collection before you can feel the difference for yourself though!

If I was to pick one thing to have with my curry, it would be cheese! I have however never tried a soft-boiled egg which I hear is rather good… I’ll give it a try next time!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Tobio Kageyama!

From the popular anime and manga series ‘Haikyu!!’ comes a Nendoroid of Karasuno High volleyball club’s ‘Natural Setter’ – Tobio Kageyama! He comes with three expressions including his standard face, a broken expression and a thrilled expression.

Optional parts include a volleyball, net parts and a special Nendoroid base in the image of a volleyball court. He also comes with ‘Quick Toss’ effect parts and a crown – parts that just had to be included with Kageyama! Be sure to display him with the previously announced Nendoroid Shoyo Hinata to recreate the unstoppable pair in action!

Hyahoooooooo!!! ヽ(・ω・。)ノ

The calm and collected setter who is always keeping a sharp eye on all points of the court, Kageyama-kun!! ♪

He is wearing his Karasuno High volleyball team jersey, with a confident look on his face even as a Nendoroid!

He comes with parts to hold a volleyball at his side just like Hinata did!

Another special option part included with him…

An item that marks him as ‘King of the Court’…

A crown part!! (*´Д｀)=з

I really like this part, it’s rather special! The combination of the expression and the crown really make him look all serious and important! ♪

You can also use this expression together with the various included arm parts to recreate the action on the volleyball court!

Kageyama’s toss, accurate no matter where he is!

Kageyama also features a Nendoroid joint in his stomach area allowing for slightly more poses than normal!

His pin-point accuracy essential to his combination with the speedy Hinata!

The included effect parts also allow to show just how much power there is!! He also comes with net parts and a special Nendoroid stand made in the image of a volleyball court to really bring out the atmosphere of the series! The net parts combine with Hinata’s to make a full net!

He also comes with a bent arm parts which allow you to create completely original poses too! (●´ω｀●)

I made this pose as a kind of “Just leave it to me” pose!

Posing him together with Nendoroid Shoyo Hinata really makes it easy to bring out a story with the Nendoroids!

These photos have all been done with his standard expression… but let’s move onto his next expression! (｀・д´・；)

“What are you so scared of…?”

“I can’t think of anything scarier than a ball being served into my head…”

An expression to recreate that famous scene! Remembering scenes like this from the show makes me want to go on and on about the series!! (/ω＼)

But for now, let’s move onto his third expression which looks great displayed with Hinata…!

His victory expression!!! ☆

Posing the two of them together with their victory expressions really creates a scene filled with passion!! ♪

Not to mention just how rare Kageyama-kun’s smile is!

Just looking at him makes me excited as well! Fist bump!!

There really are all sorts of ways to play with Nendoroids!! 

If you don’t want to do it yourself, you can always have the two high five together instead!! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

The fact that Hinata is slightly smaller than Kageyama-kun is also a nice touch! Everything is considered when planning the Nendoroids! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

Haikyu!! is one of those series that I’m constantly waiting for the next episode… and in that same sense I really hope the Nendo series continues!!

Nendoroid Marika Tachibana

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

The only place I’ve ever been to in the Kyushu region is Miyazaki. I’d really like to try all the famous foods in the area some time!
Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Marika Tachibana!

From the romantic comedy anime series ‘Nisekoi’ comes a Nendoroid of one of the story’s heroines, Marika Tachibana! She comes with two different smiling expressions, an embarrassed expression and a winking expression!

The important ‘Promise Key’ from the series is also included, and you can enjoy all sorts of your favorite scenes from the series in Nendoroid size – from provocative scenes to her blushing at the main character’s gentle words.

Oooooooooooohhhh!! ヽ(´ω｀*)ノ

At long last the fourth heroine from the popular ‘Nisekoi’ is joining the Nendoroids! Marika Tachibana, also known as ‘Mari’ is always filled with positive, optimistic energy… which comes out in the Nendoroid beautifully!

Marika certainly has a very special personality, but the part I really want to point out first…

Is this lovely expression!!

A cute smile with her tongue sticking out!

That playful side of her personality when she is making fun of Raku is captured with this expression nicely!

I think I’d be happy with just this expression, but we’re only just getting started! Let’s take a look at what else she comes with!

This is how she looks from the back! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

The bundles of her hair are quite intricately separated at the back, faithfully keeping to her original design!

Parts of the hair are made from a soft material, making sure they don’t get in the way of posing her shoulders and arms in various ways! Her lovely sailor-type school uniform with a yellow bandana has also been sculpted in lovely detail for fans to enjoy! (｡・д・｡)

The flower in her hair has also been sculpted and painted to look exactly like it did in the series!

The flower even has a slight gradient applied to it to better bring out the flowery appearance! <○><○>

(・∀・) “Let’s take a look at her other expressions and optional parts!” 

We’re joined by the figure’s planner, Yassan!

(・∀・) “Along with the expressions you’ve already shown, she also comes with this charming expression!”

An elegant winking face! (/ω＼。)

(・∀・) “If you pose her with your hand up to her mouth like this, it makes it look like she is giggling to bring out a pose that really suits her!”

The smile shows off some confidence, but also has a very cute side to it! ♥︎

By the way, her skirt looks longer compared to the other girls…?

(・∀・) “It is! The sculpting of the creases in the long skirt also make it look a bit like the skirt is wrapping around her legs!”

Even in Nendoroid size things like the length of the skirt are very carefully considered! ♪

(・∀・) “Moving on… expression number three!”

“W-What do you mean?! I don’t…”

She’s so adorable!! (*´Д｀)♡♡

(・∀・) “As with all the previous Nendoroids in the series, she also comes with an embarrassed expression!”

It’s amazing how much of each of their personality’s comes out in the embarrassed expression!

The difference between Mari’s expressions is quite impressive!
They’re all so different, but all so delicious!  *nom* (○´ㅂ`○) *nom*

(・∀・) “She also comes with four different expression parts, making it slightly more than most Nendoroids! She is well known to cycle between expressions as a character, so it only seemed fair! Simply pick the expression that shows the side of Marika you like best!” 

Wait a second… four different expressions?!
We’ve only seen three! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

(・∀・) “That’s right! Here is the fourth and final expression… a beaming smile!”

Her smile is so bright and happy!! 

From the mischievous face to a winking face… an embarrassed face and now this amazing smile – there are so many sides of Mari that you can recreate in Nendoroid form! I’m sure this last expression is staring right in the direction of Raku! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

But… what is that shiny thing around her neck?

(・∀・) “Marika also comes with the ‘Promise Key’ from the series!” 

A completely different shape to the one included with Chitoge!

(・∀・) “Once Marika is released, all four of the main heroines in the series will be available as Nendoroids! With the second season of the anime on the way as well, fans have more than enough to look forward to!”

Nendoroid Noiz & Twitter Header Banner Change!

I spent my whole weekend battling the cold front!
It’s only a matter of time until gloves and earmuffs are needed…!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Noiz!

 

From the popular PC game ‘DRAMAtical Murder’ comes a Nendoroid of the genius Rhymer, Noiz! He comes with three expressions including his standard calm expression and a provocative smile.

His cube-type ‘ALL-MATE’ Usagimodoki is included in two different sizes for all sorts of posing options. His optional parts also allow you to pose him sitting down, or without his hat – simply select the pose that you think suits him best!

Oooooooooooohhhhhhh!!! ヽ(´ω｀*)ノ

From the popular game ‘DRAMAtical Murder’ comes an adorable Nendoroid of the ‘Rhymer’ who excels at computers and hacking, Noiz! 

Everything that captures his unique look and personality has been carefully preserved on the Nendoroid – from the trademark pin on his hat to the relaxed yet sharp gaze in his eyes. It’s an amazing balance of cute and cool that fits Noiz so nicely!! ♪

This is actually the second Nendoroid from the game, following on from the previously released Nendoroid Aoba! 

This is how he looks from the back! ☆

The details and patterns on his hat and other little accessories are lovely! The lime green and dark blue colors that make up his outfit look just like they did in the game!! ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ

(・∀・) “We took the separation of colors to the utmost limits for this Nendoroid!”

We’re joined by the figure’s planner, Ohno-shi!

(・∀・) “Aoba also had a very intricate set of paintwork on his outfit, and we wanted to ensure Noiz’s lived up to that same level of quality. Various parts of his outfit feature pin point details too – like the shiny paintwork on the badge, or the paintwork of the sharply sculpted studs on his arms! Each and every part of his outfit was very carefully considered!”

The fluffy looking parts of his hat also look like they really should be soft to the touch! Not to mention the little details on the badges and tie on his chest! Even his shoes are sculpted in lovely detail even in Nendoroid size! (●´ω｀●)

Let’s take a look at his next expression part!

A grinning smile, ready to take on anyone!

What a lovely expression it is! ☆

(・∀・) “Noiz’s eyes were definitely where we spent the most time! We wanted to keep the chibi look of the Nendoroid series, but at the same time we needed to match them on the different expression parts. We tried all sorts of different options, and eventually settled on these eyes – they’re cute, but they definitely still have that Noiz confidence in them as well!”

As, in other words if the eyes on the standard expression were too sharp, then they would end up looking rather strange on this expression! Nendoroid expression can change an unbelievable amount just by changing the size and positioning of the eyes! They really need to be considered carefully to really match up with the character, but still keep the chibi Nendoroid look!  (/ω＼)

(・∀・) “I’m sure fans will enjoy this confident smile though!” 

Hey! His hat is missing!! <○><○>

(・∀・) “That’s right! He comes with alternate hair and head parts that allow you to display him without his hat!”

Oooh! Lovely!! (*´Д｀)=з

His hair has a rather gentle coloring to it underneath the hat! Not to mention the details of the earrings all over his hears!!

(・∀・) “We couldn’t quite include every single earring on the Nendoroid… but we discussed with the publisher which should be left on the Nendoroid! It still keeps that heavily pierced feeling of Noiz, without breaking down the Nendoroid look!”

It’s great to have a publisher willing to help out on decisions like that! He looks great!!

Moving onto his final expression parts…

Hyahooooooooooooo!!! (´□｀｡)

He looks rather stressed out… as if clicking his tongue in annoyance!

How can an expression like this still look so adorable?! ★

This expression also captures Noiz’s personality nicely! By the way… why wasn’t the name of the third expression in the product introduction text?

(・∀・) “This expression can really be used in so many different ways, it was too hard to name! It could be a sulking face, an embarrassed face or just an annoyed face!”  

Now that you mention it! I guess that’s true!!
It can be used in all sorts of ways!

(・∀・) “He also comes with some rather special parts!”

Oooh! Sitting parts!! (･ω･ﾉ)ﾉ！

(・∀・) “The special parts let you pose him sitting with one leg up in his classic pose!” 

Definitely a sitting pose that would only ever be found with a male character! Lovely! ♥︎

Even though it’s the same expression as before, it definitely looks more like an embarrassed expression this time around! 

(・∀・) “There really are a load of different possibilities for that final expression! Plus in case you missed it… Noiz also comes with a large Usagimodoki which he is using as a chair here! He could be seen throwing it in the forth photo as well if you were paying attention!” 

Usagimodoki  actually appeared a lot in the photos above if you were playing attention! He also comes with a smaller size version as well!

Noiz doesn’t come with computer parts, but if you use some that come with other Nendoroids… 

*Makes use of parts from Nendoroid Akari Yomatsuri!

You can recreate scenes from the game just like this!! ♪

(・∀・) “If you play around with the optional parts you can create some very different atmospheres between the two as well!”

Nendoroid Archer: Super Movable Edition

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

One day I want to say that I’m good at all housework though it really is nothing more than a dream at this point! At the very least I think I can say that I’m not that bad… although I’m  terrible at cleaning up… and I am not looking forward to the Year End cleaning at all… _:(´ཀ`」 ∠):_

Today I’m going to take a look at a figure that went up for preorder today!

Nendoroid Archer: Super Movable Edition

From the popular anime ‘Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]’ comes a fully articulated Nendoroid of the servant that made a contract with Rin Tohsaka during the 5th Holy Grail War, ‘Archer’!　He comes with both a standard expression ready for battle, as well as a shouting expression.

His twin swords ‘Kanshou’ and ‘Bakuya’ are both included for close combat, and his bow is included for long range combat! You can even pose him firing Caladbolg II from the bow! Enjoy all sorts of scenes from the show!

Oooooooooohhhhhh!!! ヽ(´ω｀*)ノ

His beautiful white hair and contrasting dark skin, which all goes so well with his red outfit! The mysterious servant who wields twin blades and is skilled in close combat and housework… Archer is joining the Nendoroids!♪

His unique outfit and its smaller details such as the belt around his waist and legs have all been sculpted in great detail!

The black part of his outfit has a bit of a tortoise shell pattern!

His twin swords ‘Kanshou’ and ‘Bakuya’ also look lovely in Nendoroid size!

His sleeves are in two parts allowing for slightly different nuances to poses!

The creases on the overcoat are also beautifully sculpted, making sure he looks great even from the back! (●´ω｀●)

Another thing you may or may not have noticed is that Archer is a part of the ‘Edition’ series of Nendoroids – that means that he is a fully articulated Nendoroid!

There is in fact another Edition Nendoroid currently up for order as well – Nendoroid Batman: Heroes Edition! Orders close later this month, so don’t miss out! ☆

These fully articulated Nendoroids make it much easier to strike action poses, meaning that you can recreate many more of Archer’s epic scenes from the series! You can also create your own original combat scenes with ease! (σ・∀・)σ

Anyway, let’s take a look at his optional parts!
Starting with something any ‘Archer’ should have…

A Nendoroid-sized bow and arrow! ヽ(*´∀｀*)ﾉ

If you pose him looking downward it makes him look like he is aiming down below at something!

He also comes with the drill-shaped Caladbolg II which means you can pose him firing that instead! A shouting face is also included!

Archer’s calm and collected expression suits his character perfectly, but sometimes it’s nice to see him let loose too! (´□｀｡)

Plus, you can display him with the previously released Nendoroid Rin Tohsaka to bring out the Fate universe even more! ♪
