Nendoroid Mega Man

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

August is already coming to an end! I can already feel Autumn coming on and I’m sure it’s going to be hard to decide on what to wear soon..

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Mega Man!

Originally created in 1987 the Mega Man series has captured the hearts of gamers for many years, and now Mega Man, the robot who fights for a peaceful world, is joining the Nendoroids! He comes with a variety of optional parts including effect parts for both his standard and charged Mega Buster attacks as well as an E Tank to save him when things look rough!

He also comes with three different expression parts including his standard expression, an expression with clenched teeth for more combat orientated poses as well as the expression for whenever he takes damage! You can easily recreate classic the classic jumping poses or even pose him taking damage! Enjoy the Mega Man universe in your Nendoroid collection by adding the Blue Bomber to your collection!

Ooooohh!! (´□｀｡)

Originally built as a helper robot by Dr. Light, Mega Man was converted into a fighting robot in order to fights against Dr.Wily and his plans to conquer the world! Now he is joining the Nendoroid series as well!! ☆

Everything that makes Mega Man the Blue Bomber that we all know and love has been faithfully shrunk down into Nendoroid size! The little details all over his body are really something to look at, and his blue body and characteristic eyes have are all unmistakable!

△ Even the soles of his feet have little details!

As you can see from the photo above,

He comes with effect parts to shoot his Mega Buster! (●´ω｀●)

This pose makes use of his expression with clenched teeth to display him in the heat of battle!! I think he’s going to need a stronger weapon to defeat this boss though…!

So let’s give him his charged Mega Buster!! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

△ He even has his other hand supporting the shot!

For those who don’t know Mega Man that well, this stronger shot is when you charge you attack, while the previous smaller shots are weaker but can easily be chained together, which is why you see a link of three shots!

The charged shot is much larger and rounder and of course does much more damage!!

It’s quite interesting to note the differences between the two parts! ♪

A special stand that allows you to match the height of the Mega Buster to your pose is also included! (｀・ω・´)ゞ Plus, he also comes with an E Tank to heal up when the battles start to get a little harder!! っ(*´Д｀)=з

△ Always make sure you have a spare in boss battles!

The optional parts allow for various memorable scenes from the game, but he also comes with various arm and leg parts that allow for even more nostalgic poses! You could just picture the 8-bit versions beside him! (/ω＼)

Not only does he come with arm and leg parts for this pose, he even comes with a damaged expression part to pose him as if he has just taken some damage!! It almost feels like I’m actually playing the game again!! ♡

Nendoroid Kirby

Kirby was easily one of my favorite characters in Super Smash Bros! I was always really good at killing myself!!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Kirby!☆ 

From the popular game series ‘Kirby’s Dream Land’ comes a Nendoroid of Kirby himself! The Nendoroid makes use of a number of magnets for posing, making his movements smooth, natural and easy to pose!

He also comes with four different expressions parts including his standard smiling face, a more serious face, an expression with his mouth wide open to display his using the inhaling ability as well as an expanded expression to show him filled up after inhaling!

A collection of optional parts are also included, such as parts that allow you to display him using the Copy Abilities ‘Sword’, ‘Fire’ and ‘Star Rod’. All sorts of optional parts to recreate your favorite scenes from the game in Nendoroid size!

The simple yet adorable round pink form of Dream Land’s Kirby is joining the Nendoroid series!!

It’s like a little pink ball of fluff with little red feet that fits nearly into the size of your palm! Everything that makes Kirby himself has been faithfully kept in place!! Even from the back his lovely rounded form looks perfect and even has a little spot for a Nendoroid stand to connect in! (・∀・)

His arms and legs are connected with magnets and the inside of the body is filled with iron allowing them to be connected all over the body!

By using magnets to connect his arms and legs you can move them all around the body for fun and interesting poses while still keeping his characteristic round appearance! The areas around his eyes and mouth don’t allow the hands and legs to be connected, but you can attach them anywhere else on the body! ★

He also comes with a number of optional parts and expressions and the combination of these parts and the movable arms and legs allow for all sorts of poses from the game! Let’s see what kind of scenes we can recreate!! (*´Д｀)=з

– Inhaling Expression – 

Recreate Kirby’s signature ability to inhale things and enemies to copy their abilities!!

It simply would not be Kirby without including this expression! The mouth is even curved inward to really make it look like things can be sucked inside!!!

△ You won’t get any special powers by inhaling me, Kirby!!

 

– Expanded Expression –

*nom nom* (๑´H`๑) *nom nom*

This is for when he sucks something in and keeps it there!!

The inhaling expression was really cute, but I think the puffy look of this expression is even cuter to me!! ♥︎ As he is a PVC figure he is obviously made from solid plastic, yet somehow when I look at this round puffy form I can’t help but think he’ll be soft to the touch when I press my finger into him!!

The way I’ve posed his arms and legs in the last two photos shows you can pose him jumping through the air with ease as well! It can also be seen as hovering from Super Smash Bros! By the way, the expressions are swapped out by replacing the front half of his face! The back half stays the same! It’s kind of like a capsule toy that opens up in the middle! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

– Serious Expression + Sword –

The ‘Sword’ ability that gives Kirby a fighting chance!

Together with the confident looking expression on his face he really looks ready for a fight now!! Not to mention that the cute green hat with a yellow pompom on the end is also included – it also attaches securely by the magnets!! ♪

 

– Serious Expression + Fire –

Kirby can also fight with flames!!

When he inhales an enemy that uses fire attacks he can copy the ability which can be used for all sorts of things!! ★

The flame effect parts even come with their own little stand!!
This allows you to match the height of the flame to whatever height Kirby’s mouth is at!! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

The flame crown on his head also makes use of some translucent parts that make the flames look really pretty and wavy all the way up to the top!!  ε=(｡・д・｡)

△These flame crown also connects to the body with magnets!

 

– Smiling Expression + Star Rod –

The rod that powers the Fountain of Dreams!

A key item seen in many of the titles in the series!! With a shiny look to the star on top and the candy cane-like red and white rod… it really looks like it has jumped right out of the game!! It also looks kind of tasty!!  (/ω＼)

By the way, he comes with an alternate hand that has a little hole in it that allows him to hold items like so! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

△ The sword is held in the same way!

As you can see, not only do you get the adorable Kirby in Nendoroid size… you can also recreate all sorts of his Copy Abilities which are all so cute as well!! (´□｀｡)

It really is as if he just jumped out the game!! Be sure to add the adorable Kirby to your collection! ♡

Nendoroid Shoyo Hinata: & Nendoroid Tobio Kageyama: Karasuno High School Volleyball Club’s Jersey Ver.

I was always terrible at serving during PE classes back at school. Everyone kept cheering me on but I never really got it right…

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at two products…

Nendoroid Shoyo Hinata: Karasuno High School Volleyball Club’s Jersey Ver. &
Nendoroid Tobio Kageyama: Karasuno High School Volleyball Club’s Jersey Ver.

From ‘Haikyu!!’, the popular volleyball manga series with a second anime series on the way, comes a Nendoroid of Tobio Kageyama wearing his Karasuno High School Volleyball Club Jersey! He comes with a smiling expression overflowing with confidence.The rather unique way they wear their jackets has been faithfully preserved, and Hinata also comes with some meat buns and the bag he uses when going to the volleyball club as optional parts.  Kageyama comes with some ‘GunGun’ Milk and the bag he uses when going to the volleyball club as optional parts. Be sure to display him with Nendoroid Shoyo Hinata: Karasuno High School Volleyball Club’s Jersey Ver. which will be available at the same time!

The first year Haikyu!! boys strongest duo are back again as Nendoroids, this time wearing their volleyball jerseys!

Not only is it a little more compact, but you also open it in an all new way!! Here is a GIF that should give you an idea of how the box opens up!! 

It kind of folds out! I quite like this kind of packaging!! I hope everyone finds it as appealing as I did…! Moving on…. here we have the blister packs inside! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Rather Simple! But simple isn’t always bad! Not only is it lighter on the wallet, but there are still all sorts of ways to enjoy these two!!

Let’s start by taking a look at the optional parts and outfits! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

△ Kageyama with Gungun Milk and Hinata with Meat Buns!! They look so happy!!
The optional parts and the way they are wearing their jerseys really bring out the differences in their personality!

This is how they look from the back!

You can see the ‘Karasuno High School Volleyball Club’ written on their backs! <○><○>

You can see from the sculpt and paintwork that their bags are each made from different material! Kageyama’s has a glossy, enamel appearance while Hinata’s has a more matte appearance! 

Also, you can swap out the parts between them as well as their alternate Nendoroid versions allowing for a different set of poses for them to take! For example…

These make use of the super excited expressions included with Nendoroid Shoyo Hinata and Nendoroid Tobio Kageyama! (●´ω｀●) 

While they are certainly lovely on their own, displaying the two of them together allows for even more fun!! By the way, the Kageyama above makes use of Hinata’s hand but the bent arm part! You can mix things up for all sorts of different situations!

Nendoroid Shokudaikiri Mitsutada

Thanks to everyone who tuned into the live broadcast earlier! Without further ado, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Shokudaikiri Mitsutada

From the popular browser game ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the sword always trying to show off his real potential, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada! He comes with three expressions including his standard rebellious expression, a serious combat expression as well as a troubled expression to show him worrying about not being as quite as cool as he wants to be.His sword can be displayed both sheathed and drawn, and he can easily take a variety of action poses to show off his abilities! Be sure to add Shokudaikiri Mitsutada to your collection!

He definitely looks cool to me!!

ORANGE ROUGE’s latest release is the fifth Nendoroid from Touken Ranbu, the rather fashionable sword wielded by none other than Date Masamune – Shokudaikiri Mitsutada!★

His awesome suit-like outfit with black gloves and an eye patch have all been shrunk down into Nendoroid size! He looks amazing!!

Even though his outfit contains a lot of black, the paintwork clearly separates different textures and shades for lovely detail!  (｀・ω・´)ゞ

The colors of the outfit definitely have a rather dark appearance to them, quite in contrast with the last Touken Ranbu Nendoroid, Tsurumaru! Also note the details on all the accessories of the outfit! The intricate ties, golden buttons and armoured areas… there is so much to see!

As you can see in the above photo, you can also pose him with his sword drawn! He looks ready for combat now! I think one of my best things about Shokudaikiri is his gentle-mannered persona which really comes thorough in his expression here!

As with the previous Touken Nendoroids, Shokudaikiri will also comes with a round base featuring his sword emblem! ♪

△ His emblem is really cool!!

Anyway! Now that we’ve seen his gentle expression…

We need to also see what he looks like in combat!

Those sharp eyes have already seen through his enemy’s next move…!

The expression really captures his fighting spirit with those eyes and his clenched teeth!

A very different feeling to the gentle look from the first expression! ♫

Anyway, let’s move onto his third expression…

A troubled expression!

Ooooooooooh!! (´□｀｡)

Suddenly he doesn’t look so ready for combat any more! This one is a much more everyday kind of expression! ★

Plus the way he’s scratching his cheek makes him look even more troubled… 

This expression was created based on Shokudaikiri’s line from the game, “Hmm, I guess that was pretty lame…”! It’s one of those expressions that can be used in so many different ways!

Be sure to add him to add the cool sword to your Nendoroid collection!

When posing him holding the sword in his hand you need to slip the hand through the grip, but when doing so I recommend holding onto the thicker handle part of the sword to prevent the sword from bending or snapping!

If you’re having trouble connecting parts together, try warming them up with something like a hair dryer and they’ll slip into place easier!!  ⇒More Details

One character that fits perfectly with the Bon Lantern Festival is Hozuki!! He looks so lovely even in Nendoroid form that no matter what photos I take of him they always come out looking amazing! This one was one of my favorites to take! ♪ The lights around him make use of actual dried ‘hozuki’ (Winter cherries).

I meant to buy a black coffee but somehow ended up with both milk and sugar. I love sweet things and I love hot drinks… but I don’t like mixing the two!!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Himouto! Umaru-chan Trading Figures!

Kirie Motoba

Even her ‘ahoge’ sticking-up hair is included on the figure! ε=(｡・д・｡)

I occasionally come down with an illness that makes me want to eat far too much meat. It’s hitting me right now, but in a special version that makes we want to eat hamburgers urgently…!

But anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at a product that went up for preorder today…

Metamoroid wooser!☆

From the anime series ‘wooser’s hand-to-mouth life: phantasmagoric arc’ comes a transforming figure of the mysterious yellow creature himself – wooser!
The strange round form that is wooser can transform into Rin mode, with Rin wearing a cute magical girl costume to boot! A magic wand and a stack of money are also included to display with them. The figure is partially articulated in either mode, allowing for all sorts of different situations to enjoy!

Sun Priestess Tamayorihime

Hello fellow readers of Kahotan Blog and nice to meet you! My name is Akane Eiseihei (@akane_mxf) and I am a member of Max Factory’s planning team!

While Kahotan was away on Summer vacation I wrote up this blog which was published on the Japanese blog, but now that the preorder deadline has been extended a little there is some time to add a translated version to the English side, so here we go! Sorry for the delay!

I don’t think Kahotan realized just how silly she was to leave the blog to me! Who knows what kind of silly things will end up in this blog while I am in control! Today I’m going to be taking a look at this WonHobby Selection item that is currently up for preorder!

Sun Priestess Tamayorihime!

From ‘selector infected WIXOSS’, the anime based on the popular trading card game ‘WIXOSS’ comes a full-scale figure of the level 4 LRIG, Sun Priestess Tamayorihime. Tamayorihime’s cute, innocent and playful appearance has been faithfully recreated in figure form. The floating appearance from the card along with the halos positioned around her have also been carefully preserved, creating a figure that looks as if she has jumped right out of the card to join your collection!
Tama has just jumped right off the card and into the world of figures!!

Take a nice close look at her!!

Such an amazing dynamic pose, not to mention the amazing floating feeling!!

This is the card that the figure was based on – as you can see the figure is completely faithful to the original illustration!

“Tama… she came out of the card for… me…”

This is your chance to become a Selector and aim to be an Eternal Girl!! At least, that’s the way I feel when I look at the figure – it really draws you right into the series as Tama is right there beside you!! Plus as Tama-chan is a LRIG and her actual height is only about 30cm… that also means that this is a full scale figure! The actual size of Tama will be on display beside you!!

By the way, her size when compared to normal scale figures would place her around the 1/7th scale size!

The figure also allows you to see her from the back!

To preserve the floating appearance and still keep her nice and stable, the stand makes use of a clear acrylic pillar!

The official photos don’t include many shots of her from the back, but that is by no means that she doesn’t look great from behind as well!

Just look at the sculpt of those fluttering sleeves and flowing hair…!!

Not to mention all the smooth skin that you can see in the openings of her outfit! I promise you this IS a figure! If you touch the skin it won’t be as soft as it looks!! 

Whilst I love illustrations as much as anyone else, there is definitely so much more texture and shape now that you can see her as a completely three dimensional figure! You always needed to imagine the shape and curves of her back and body with the illustration, but now they are right there for you to see! Or even feel!

My personal best things about the figure are her smooth, slim body as well as the little teases you can get while looking around at the gaps of her clothes! Can you see them?! Can’t you?!

The curves of her thighs are also magnificent…!

But let’s not forget that this is Tama-chan that has grown to Level 4!!

Have definitely grown to level 4 too!! 

If you look really close at her hips you’ll notice you can just see the faint outlines of her bones as they push on the skin due to her posing! That somehow gets me really excited!! By the way, the sculptor for this figure is none other than Shining Wizard @ Sawatika – a sculptor said to have no equal when it comes to adding the little details like these!!

The paintwork is also outstanding!

Take a second to look at the clothes she is wearing. While it’s mostly just a while outfit the various shades and highlights all over and slight use of yellows and blues create something that definitely isn’t just a slap of white paint – the attention to details and lighting is very carefully considered!

Plus even the feather accessories in her hair cast shadows which have clearly been depicted by intricate paintwork! They say transferring illustrations into figures is not an easy task, but this figure is an example that it can be done with a good balance of sculpt and paintwork!!

I really have to say this figure is a masterpiece! You will love her once she joins your collection!! Make sure you don’t miss out!

August 2015 Twitter Header Image!!

The theme this time around is ‘Summer‘!

As usual I have received an amazing number of entries which have all been a pleasure to look though!! It was amazing how people managed to capture Summer in so many different ways – many of which were even taken indoors and still definitely had a Summer charm to them!  Just looking though them made me feel like I was on Summer Holiday!! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

A big thank you to everyone who sent in photos this time around! It was, as usual, very difficult to select just one to use as my header image, but as some of you may have already seen on Twitter I have selected this photo by IKKI.F as my header for this month!!

Miku-san wearing a yukata with a lovely smile on her face. I tried to make effective use of light, positioning and composition to create a unique photo. Compared to my normal inability to take photos, this one came out miraculously well!。

The warm lighting and the way she is slightly covering her face as if a little embarrassed is so lovely! The kitty on the road is also a lovely little touch! The photo as a whole really captures the spirit of a ‘Japanese Summer’ so nicely! I wish I could have had a Summer date like this!!

As usual, I received all sorts of photos from around the world, so thank you to everyone who send in a picture or message! I unfortunately can’t show everything on the blog, but I will showing as many as possible by splitting the August messages into two parts – this being the first! The next part will come later!

School swimsuits suited these two from Kodomo no Jikan so perfectly that I had to take a photo! ♪

School had entered Summer holidays, but I came by to swim and took some photos! I wanted to include Mimi-chan as well, but the swimsuit parts don’t quite match up with her bust size very well… so I decided to leave it at these two! ^^;

Summer outing in Singapore with Sinon

Took this at Marina Barrage,it’s pretty hot in Singapore but it’s windy too, Sinon seems to enjoy the weather. Wanna join along?

I wasn’t able to get her at WonFes, but by Snow Miku finally arrived in July!

The seasons don’t quite match up with a field of sunflowers in the background, but seen she herself has a lot of flowery accessories I think she still fits in nicely!

Menma in Paradise

Summer means hitting the beach, enjoying the sea and most importantly the scenery! Photo is taken during sunrise at a Jetty to Jerejak Island, on Penang Island, Malaysia.

The shining sky and sea! Menma stands on the beach on in the Summer and somehow kind of looks to be life-sized! The blue colors throughout the photo really create a lovely atmosphere as well!

Nendoroid Koujaku

Today’s main feature…

Today I’m going to be taking a look at ORANGE ROUGE’s newest member who has his birthday today…

Nendoroid Koujaku!

From the popular PC game ‘DRAMAtical Murder’ comes a Nendoroid of Aoba’s childhood friend, Koujaku! He comes with three expressions including his standard expression, a content smile as well as a blushing, embarrassed expression. The unique appearance of his kimono from the gradient coloring to the patterns that adorn it have been faithfully shrunk down to Nendoroid size.His sword has been included in both its sheathed form and drawn form for you to choose from, and he also includes alternate hand parts that allow you to display him grasping Nendoroid Aoba’s hands. His AllMate ‘Beni’ is of course also included to display by his side! Be sure to add the empathic Koujaku to your collection!

Ooooooohh!! (´□｀｡)

Apologies for the wait since his announcement! The reliable leader of the Benishigure who also works as a hairdresser, Koujaku is finally joining the Nendoroids!

The long hair that covers his right eye, his intricate yet beautiful red kimono, gentle eyes and just overflowing manliness have all been beautifully transformed into Nendoroid size! (/ω＼)

Just look at details of his outfit!! <○><○>

The bottom of the kimono not only has a lovely gradient effect, but also has all the flower patterns faithfully printed on at the bottom even in Nendoroid size!

The details of his hairpin and sword are also absolutely stunning!! ♪

Plus the sword is also included unsheathed as a separate part, so you can pose him showing off his strength and vigour with his sword drawn! ♡

Plus as you probably realized from the above he comes with alternate arm parts that allow you to choose between placing his arm inside the kimono, or instead through the sleeve! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

The pose with his arm inside the kimono is definitely how many fans known him so it simply had to be included, but he still comes with standard arm parts for all sorts of other posing options! The short tied up bit of hair over his shoulder is also fitted with a joint allowing you to match it with your poses! ♪

Let’s take a closer look for more detail…!

All the strings, ornaments his sash and even the prayer beads on his wrists… they’re all separately painted! The strings and kimono itself make use of a flat paint while the various baubles and ornaments have a glossy paint to create a shining appearance that really looks amazing! The prayer beads have a pearl paint applied to them which also looks fantastic!! ( ；∀；)

Of all the characters in DRAMAtical Murder, Koujaku’s outfit probably has the most intricate details! We’ve really done as best we can keeping his charms even when shrunk down to Nendoroid size, changing the paint colors and type even for smaller details like like the ornaments… not to mention the prints at the bottom of his kimono! We hope to create the same level of detail on the final product… I’m sure all will go well!

I personally love the way the one finger on his right hand is slightly lifted!! (*´Д｀)=з

Just that slight change makes me think he was just thinking about something that caused him to put strength into his arm… it adds more to his manly character!! I don’t know if everyone will fell this way, but it really catches my attention for some reason…!

Anyway, let’s move on to another part included with Koujaku…

His sparrow AllMate ‘Beni’!! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Even the cute geta sandals on his talons have been carefully sculpted!! If you balance him carefully you can even pose him in places like this!

His neck can also be moved from left to right for slightly different nuances!

Just having him nearby in any pose makes it instantly seem more colorful! ♡

By the way, even though his face is covered by his hair, the details of the expression including his other eye and the tattoos on his face are faithfully included! Be sure to take a look once he is in your collection! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Anyway, let’s move on to his other expression parts, starting off with his…
Lovely smiling expression! ☆

I’m pretty sure if anyone ever met me with a smile like this I would fall for them in a second!! Of course posing him smiling together with Aoba is great, but even just posing him alone looking upward makes for such a lovely smile to look down upon whenever you’re feeling down!

Onto his third and final expression…!

An embarrassed expression!

Note that there is an ever so slight blush in his cheeks!!

You can see he is trying really hard to hide his embarrassment and keep his confident expression!! Koujaku’s embarrassed expression is a rather rare sight… but with the Nendoroid you can enjoy it whenever you like! (・∀・)

It allows you to create scenes like this…!

Parts to hold hands with Nendoroid Aoba!!

Holding hands just like when they were younger! As you can also see in the photo (although it got a little cut off), Koujaku’s base is a longer, rectangular base! It’s the exact size of two Nendoroid bases placed together! ε=(｡・д・｡)

This allows for easy posing together with the other characters!!

You choose to display him with Aoba like above, or perhaps instead with Nendoroid Noiz in a scene like below… or with any other Nendoroid! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

They look like they are provoking someone by showing off how unconcerned they are!!

Their personalities never really got along at first, but as Nendoroids they seem quite happy beside each other! Even from the back it looks like they are having an interesting conversation with each other! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

As you can see above, you can also have Koujaku hold the sword in it’s scabbard! The hole it uses to connect to his back will be visible on the sword though!

Also note the pouch and tied up sash of his kimono! The attention to detail never ceases to amaze me!! ♪

Enjoy all the details of his outfit and various sides of his personality!
