I previously showed just a single shot on twitter, but today all the parts are together for us to take a look at!

Shuukan Hajimete no Miku Hatsune Miku is a weekly 4-panel manga that is currently being serialized in Weekly Young Jump. It features a Miku with a rather different expression to normal!

There are actually a lot of lovely little stories in the first volume, so do check it out! It’s also super cute!

This is how she looks from the back!

Miku looks great from any angle, but the back is definitely well known by fans! This version of Miku has slightly thinner twin tails that also have a lovely gradient to them!

A confident expression and mike stand!

She also comes with a bent arm and bent leg for both left and right sides, letting you pose her in confident poses like this one!

A kicking pose with a Achop face!!

All the expressions feature the blank white eyes that the series is known for! It somehow adds a whole different kind of cuteness to the figure!

The mike stand can stand on its own!

You can have her hold it, or place it on the ground like this! I must say that this Nendoroid is very easy to get into all sorts of poses – after playing with it for just a short while I was able to get her into just the poses I wanted. It really feels like she just jumped out of the manga for me to play with!!

“Achop!!”

The scene where Miku-chan is stopping the balls from a pitching machine with her bare hands!! She shouts out “Achop!” as she does so! It’s so adorable!!! She comes with shoulder parts that let her put her hands out in front of her like this.

A shopping bag and ice cream!

Those who have seen a particular video will know these two particular items all too well! This is the Miku from the video, Mukashimukashi no Kyou no Boku!

Plus! Soon after… she will trip and drop her ice cream… which will need…

A depressed expression and sitting parts!

Just look at the way her arms are crossed! She really looks so upset and depressed all at once!! Once she is released, I want to go to take photos down at one of Matsudo’s river beds to recreate the scenes from the video!!

She also comes with a cardboard box!

This is to recreate a scene from the manga! If you don’t know where, you better check out the manga! 😛 The fine details like the hand-written words all over the box and even the fragile label have all been carefully recreated in Nendoroid form!

This time the production team is off to China for quite a long stay, but even so, samples still stop by for us!

Today we’ll be taking a look at this lovely figma that managed to sneak into the offices!

The third part of the Cheerful JAPAN! project:

This was the Cheerful JAPAN! product announced back in July! Everyone who ordered should have their’s delivered around the 29th November.

The damage that has occurred during the March 11 quake in the Touhoku region is astounding, and in order to get over the destruction caused there is a lot that needs to be done, and lots of support that needs to be given. Good Smile Company has formed a support group named ‘Cheerful Japan’ which will strive to support the relief efforts for as long as possible. For at least 1 year we be releasing charity products among other efforts to raise donation money for the cause. To everyone who supports the Cheerful Japan movement – thank you, and know that your money is going where it is needed!

This pose also makes use of the hands that grab onto the mike! I’m really proud of my poses in this photography, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did…

A singing face and a mike stand!

Just as with the Nendoroid, the figma also comes with this lovely expression!! It’s great to be able to create a kind of singing atmosphere with the pose as well.

You can either just put the mike stand on the ground or let her hold it like this! Here we have an acrobatic Miku singing her songs!

She also comes with two leeks!

I remember being amazed at the quality of these leeks back when the first figma was released – I’m just as impressed this time around as well! You can pose her with both, or just one – it’s up to you!

As expected of Max Factory’s wonderful quality! The figure looks almost identical to the illustration!! The illustration has a loli feeling to it that has been converted into figure form wonderfully! I can’t wait to take more photos! (`･ω･´)ゞ

Well of course she is! It’s Kanzaki’s Miku-san!!

Aaah!! I wish she was real so I could touch those squishy looking cheeks! Even the transparent looking eyes have been perfectly recreated on the figure version!

Look at that exquisite hair color!

Max Factory obviously worked on the hair color was obviously worked on until it was absolutely perfect! I just can’t explain how much I love the airy look and lovely coloring on the hair! Plus that lovely transparent feeling! It’s all so beautiful!!

The fluttering skirt also shouldn’t be overlooked!

It’s not really an overly active pose, but just like the illustration, the smallest areas like the fluttering of the skirt still have a lovely dynamic feeling to them!! Small things like this are really what makes the figure come together in the end! The subtle little pattern on her boots are also a lovely little bonus to notice!

A close-up on the keyboard!

The texture even changes between the buttons and the keyboard! Such fine detail!! I must say that her hand also looks so soft and touchable here… (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

The keyboard can be removed!

Though that alone seemed kind of lonely, so I gave her some leeks to hold! 😛 The leeks come with figma Miku, and are not included with this figure. I needed double-sided tape to keep them in place!

There might be some of you that may be wondering this… but it really was a nail-biting start right from the entrance for all of us!

Wondering whether our Miku 2011 SUPER GT will be able to take gold in the final race!

Let’s take a quick look at how amazing this race is – for each race, the higher you rank in, the more points you receive. The only problem is, the more points you have, the more of a handicap you receive in the following race. There are 8 races each year, and the team with the most points at the end will be the champions for that year. Our Miku has managed to pull first place positions twice this year, so it was all up in the air as to whether or not she would be able to take the champion title for this year’s series.

An overview of the race course!

The cars obviously all drive along the blue line on this map. As I only ever really play the games I thought the course seemed fairly small – but it really isn’t – it actually covers a huge amount of space!

First off we went to the area shown in purple!

The seats just at the finish line!

Hmmm… these seem like very high quality seats that should be used for the most dedicated fans… and here I am as a complete amateur. The seat even had ‘VIP’ written on it… I’m so sorry everyone who wanted these seats! xD

But I promise that I’ll be cheering as much as I possibly can!

Miku is also here to cheer on!

It was cloudy with little drizzles of rain the whole morning. It was also rather humid and not really the best weather for an event like this… but looking at the Miku car’s track record, rainy days always gave her the upper edge!

If the rain allows Miku to win, then I’ll gladly pray for even more rain! 😛

Next up we moved on to the pit area!

The pit is where all the cars for the race are held! (I think… :P)

It looks so close on the map, but it was quite far to walk!

It must have taken about 10 minutes to walk from the seats before down to the pit area. (You need to go underground, so some of that is also climbing up and down…)

It makes me wonder how long it would take to walk around the entire course… :O

This is the behind the pit area!

Very close to the pit is this tent where all the people involved can watch how the race is progressing. All the personal sponsors of the Miku car are also all written up here for everyone to see!! A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the sponsorship!

The tires have not yet been put on, and all sorts of parts still seem to be missing. The mechanics are really trying to make sure that there are no problems, so Miku can race in her very best condition! Just look at the serious expression on the mechanic’s face!

The front area of the pit!

I must say that the pit area is a lot smaller than I expected…! In such a tiny area the mechanics have to work without error as fast as possible… the pressure must be really intense. It also really shows that the race is also a lot about teamwork as well.

During the pit walk time, you can walk around the pit areas and take a closer look at your favorite cars.

The left side of this photo is filled with people because each team’s race queens are all lined up and everyone is free to take photos! The three Racing Miku Supporters were super popular!!

It was actually really hard to even move around… so many people can to take a look at the Miku car! I hope that all this support will give Miku the power she needs to win!

In the preliminary yesterday, Miku placed first giving her pole position for this race!

Pole position allows Miku to be in the very front position of the race. In the photo you’ll see a few other cars in front of her as well, but they are GT500 cars. Miku is a GT300, and is in front of all the other GT300 cars.

Miku is unbelievably fast!!!

I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to get a clear shot of the Miku car during the race because it was moving too quickly! I’m glad some of the pictures managed to come out nicely… 😛

The red car behind Miku at the moment is #11 – Miku’s rival car who also has a shot at the championship with this race! Don’t lose Miku! You can do it!

Miku Hatsune: Love is War ver.

Yesterday was Miku’s 4th Birthday!

Happy belated birthday, Miku!

It’s very fitting that this figure would be announced so close to her birthday!

From the popular song composed by ryo and produced by supercell with illustrations by Shirou Miwa, ‘Love is War,’ is this lovely 1/8th scale figure of Miku Hatsune! Her long flowing hair is blowing up behind her, her skirt is also flying up in the wind as she holds a megaphone in her one hand and leans over the edge of a railing, shouting out about her love! It’s a beautiful and dynamic pose that recreates Shirou Miwa’s original illustration perfectly!

If you’re too lazy to go read that article, here is a quick summary:

There is a big base version and a small base version!

The left is the deluxe (DX) version, while the one on the right is the standard version. Obviously Miku is included with both stands, with the deluxe version going for 14000JPY and the standard version going for 8800JPY. The article above focuses on the DX version, and this article will focus on the standard version!

Miku Hatsune: Love is War ver.

This here is the standard version!

A quick look will tell you the base is definitely a lot simpler and smaller – but it still keeps the same taste as the original illustration! In fact… the base on the standard version is pretty big itself, just compared to the deluxe version it looks quite small 😛 The Miku in both versions is identical.

Here you can see the standard base!

There are no longer speakers all over the place, and the area to stand on is more of 1/6th of a circle compared to the half on the deluxe version. But even though it is smaller, it’s just as detailed!

Don’t worry!

The floor part and steel tower can both be removed!

Obviously it’ll lose a bit of it’s charm without them, but you have to do what you have to do to fit her in, right? 😛

It’s amazing how heavy it looks… even though it’s just PVC… what a great paint job! Just as wonderful a job as on the DX version!

Miku-san from the front!

I seem to focus on the base so much some people might almost forget about the main part of the figure! 😛 Here is Miku posed on the base in her dynamic pose with her long twin-tails flying out behind her. It also has the same wonderful contrast! Definitely one of my best Miku figures ever!

A grated floor and rusted look!

This is one part I’ve really come to like!! It really builds a nice atmosphere for the figure. It’s the little things like this that make fans like me super happy!

Miku Hatsune: Love is War ver. DX

Tasshi! What are you doing!?

You’re not allowed to check things like that!

I might be giving him a bad name, but Tasshi is actually responsible for the painting on this incredible figure!

On another note – I have no space on my desk thanks to this figure! But at least I’ll finally get to take a close look at this figure – I know lots of you have been waiting for it as well!

Miku Hatsune: Love is War ver.!

From the popular song composed by ryo and produced by supercell with illustrations by Shirou Miwa, ‘Love is War,’ is this lovely 1/8th scale figure of Miku Hatsune! Her long flowing hair is blowing up behind her, her skirt is also flying up in the wind as she holds a megaphone in her one hand and leans over the edge of a railing, shouting out about her love! It’s a beautiful and dynamic pose that recreates Shirou Miwa’s original illustration perfectly!

First let me say…

It’s incredible!

Everything from the sculpting to painting – it’s all absolutely stunning!

As you can see, the base is the biggest ever! 😛

“Whoa! Hold on a sec! There is no way I’ll have space for that thing!”

…for all those worrying about that – worry not!

There will be two different sizes available for purchase!

It’s bigger than my monitor! 😛 But it’s not just big – the base is also at an unbelievable level of quality! It really looks like it was cast out of metal!!

Today I’ll be reviewing the deluxe version!

Personally I’d definitely recommend getting this one if you have the space!

Miku Hatsune: Love is War ver. DX

This big speaker base was seen the the ‘Love is War’ PV illustration. It looked really impressive as in illustration, but as a figure you can really get a feel for its massive presence!

If you sum them up, there are in fact a total of nine speakers on the base!

This is how it looks from above!

As you can see the actual area Miku stands on is a semi-circle – the entire circle isn’t a part of the figure, but the center of the base is not cut off at all. I don’t think it’d look half as nice if the center piece had been cut in half as well. 😛

Alright, let’s move onto the actual Miku figure!
Look at her wonderful expression!

It’s a perfect recreation of Miwa-san’s original illustration!

The contrast looks so beautiful! The pink and the green come out so nicely with to emphasize parts of the illustration! The figure is made to look exactly like the illustration, so fans of Miwa’s work should definitely enjoy it!

A look at her wonderful outfit!

I love the way everything seem to be flapping around! And look at that belly-button!!! She has a nice tight waist-line while flows down to her hip-line, which is just as gorgeous!

Her long flowing twin-tails!

Miku’s hair is definitely one of the highlights of this figure. A large amount of gradient painting is used to help recreate the contrast experienced in the original illustration. The twirling together of blue and green really looks great together!

This is how it looks from another angle!

Those huge speakers together with Miku! You really get a feel for just how big the speakers are when you compare them to the size of Miku. 😛

This is how she looks from the back!

I couldn’t put her whole body in because of… well… because of the way her skirt if blowing up 😛 You have to see that part for yourself! She really does have a nice body – just look at that sexy looking back!

Let’s try a low angle!

The stand really compliments Miku’s colors so nicely, creating an all-in-all gorgeous figure! Normally I don’t do low-angle shots like this as they will often make figures look a bit strange, but this is one figure that really looks absolutely incredible no matter what angle you look at her from!

The other side of the speakers!

It looks like a real speaker has just been shrunk down to figure size!! For those who are interested – the base is made using 3D data! It really is a perfect example of what amazing things can be done with 3D data sculpting!

Even inside the speakers there is a texture!
The inside of the speakers uses coloring similar to Miku’s – it all works together very nicely! The texture is not just painted on, it’s actually there when you feel it as well! I think this must be the first ever figure with a base that goes into such detail… it’s simply outstanding!

Another look at the DX ver.’s base!

Based on the monitor and keyboard in the background you should get a fell for just how big it is! Plus I’m sure you can see that even though it’s big, that by no means the quality will be bad. I know I’ve already said it, but I’ll say it again – I definitely recommend getting this version if you can! It’s incredible!

Nendoroid Miku Hatsune: Append Ver.

The GSC offices after last week’s events!

Yep, it’s a bit messy. 😛

A big thank you to everyone who visited us at Anisummer or CharaHobby over the weekend – as well as everyone who watched the live broadcast!

Noe let’s take a look at one of the figures that was on display at CharaHobby!

Nendoroid Miku Hatsune: Append Ver.!

Miku Append is the new version of Miku that was created from the additional library pack ‘Miku Append’, and is now getting the Nendoroid treatment by sculptor Asai Masaki.

Indeed it is! A special base designed using a combination of black and clear plastic just for Append Miku.

Plus the base has a little gimmick built in!
We’ll take a look at that at the very end of the blog!

This is how she looks from the back!

Append Miku is just as sexy as a Nendoroid, but has a nice cute side to her as well! The way her hair is made using a gradient on clear plastic is absolutely stunning!!

Let’s take a look at the optional parts!

First up is her smiling face!

Generally speaking Append Miku is supposed to have a ‘cool’ feeling about her, but you can always transform her into a cute smiling Miku with parts like this!

She also comes with an outstretched arms!
The photo above only uses the left arm, but she in fact has one for her right arm as well!

A calm expression with closed eyes!

It’s a very mature looking face – not something you see very often on Nendoroids! But that’s just what Append Miku is here for – a change from the normal!

She also has two bent arms to cover her hears!
Append Miku is well known for this pose of her covering her ears -doesn’t it look sexy? Even though it’s a Nendoroid! 😛

Mix up the different arm bits a little!

With one bent arm and one outstretched arm you can make a lovely pose like this one! She also has her hips bent to the side a bit – the armored bits around her hips don’t get in the way at all for poses!

You can of course pose her like that as well!

Awakened Mode!! (`･ω･´)

The little flap on her stomach is also of course included for this pose!! It uses a whole bunch of extra parts as well! – Five of them in fact!

　Awakened Hip Parts (Little wing things are attached!)
　Awakened Cord (A cord coming out of her back!)

All of those are included just for the awakened pose! It’s almost another complete Nendoroid! 😛

You can also see the base has changed quite considerably!
If you take off the black top you can do mid air poses!
Now it looks just like the 1/8th scale Append Miku’s stand – in Nendoroid form!

Plus!

The base also includes LED lights!!

Oooh! They’re so pretty! Append Miku already has a nice transparent feeling to her, so the lighting works really nicely for her! We haven’t had LED lights on a Nendoroid since Nendoroid Drossel – definitely the first time it’s been on a base of a Nendoroid.I hear that this year’s Snow Miku might also make use of LEDs! :O

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

1/8 Scale Miku Hatsune: Lat-type Ver.!

It’s a figure of Miku based on a popular 3D CG model of her from MikuMikuDance – The Lat-type model! All the small things that make up the popular model have been carefully sculpted into the figure – her large headphones, the red ring on her arm and even the checkered wallet chain at her waist!

That skirt is so close… so very close…. Lat-type Miku’s left foot is also posed slightly in the air! She comes with a clear rod to support the leg.

The design is simple, but very detailed!

While normal Miku has a headset, Lat-type Miku has headphones! I must say I’ve always wondered why girls wearing headphones is so popular, but I must say it’s cute here!

The hair accessories around her twintails make use of clear plastic!
It gives a very nice transparent feeling to them!

The 1/8th scale original Miku has just been on resale, so now you have no excuse to not display the two together!

But that’s a different base!?

Lat-type Miku comes with a 2nd base that matches the original 1/8th Scale Miku’s base! What a wonderful extra!! The poses are also just like mirror images of each other, so they really look good together!

The glasses can be used for all sorts of things!

They’re even the perfect size for Nendo petites! 😛 She actually comes with two pairs, so you are free to play around with them! Red-framed glasses AND school uniforms! Too much cute at once! xD

Cheerful Japan feat. Hatsune Miku: Illustration Contest

GSC is currently running the Cheerful JAPAN! Project!

– Cheerful JAPAN! –

Good Smile Company has formed a support group of a few companies named ‘Cheerful Japan!’ which will strive to support the relief efforts for the 2011 Touhoku earthquake and tsunami for as long as possible. For at least one year we be releasing charity products on the 11th of each month to raise donation money for the cause, in hopes that Japan can recover as soon as possible.

This month’s charity product is Nendo Ren & Len: Cheerful ver!, who are pictured above!

Nendoroid Miku Support Messages!

Hi everyone!

It’s Monday, and already August! WonFes has come to an end, but Good Smile is already well on it’s way with preparations for Chara-Hobby and Anisama which are coming at the end of this month!

Our advertising teams are working hard for the events, and as soon as more info is known it’ll be up on the GSC site!

In a blog not too long ago, I asked you all for your Miku messages!

I wanted to collect images of people’s messages they wrote on the transparent sticker that came with Support Miku!

Support Miku was a product released to support the relief efforts in Eastern Japan, and I hope that in some way the proceeds have managed to make a difference in the lives of those in the disaster areas. I’m also certain these messages will bring a smile to some faces!

I’m always reading your blog, so I decided to send through my support message! It’s not a great picture, but I hope the message reaches all those in the disaster areas, including my friend in Hachinohe. I’m sure that Miku’s smile will be able to bring a smile to everyone in Japan.

This support message comes from Oumigawa Station in Niigata Prefecture. This is one of the many places that was badly affected by the Chuoetsu offshore earthquake four years ago. (The uneven looking cliffs to the left are one of the few remaining traces of the quake.) The station was a complete mess after the quake – covered in sand and dirt, but now it’s back up and running just as well as ever. I’m certain that Eastern Japan will be able to recover just as well as this – it definitely affected more areas, but over time it will recover and be better than ever!

The earthquake this time around really was horrific. I live in Tokyo, and can’t believe that such tragedy was happening so close to me. I was wondering what I could possibly do to help a little, and then heard about this Support version of Miku. To be able to grab a Nendoroid and still be helping out where help is needed was great. Thanks so much for the opportunity, GSC! I have sent through my support message photo as a thank you to GSC as well as a thought to those in the disaster areas. “Even if we’re apart, we’re always one. As soon as you asked for messages, I took the next morning to take a picture of mine with the sunrise. “Even if the world looks bleak today, always remember that tomorrow is another day”, based on that philosophy, I decided to take a picture with the sunset as soon as possible.

My Support ver. Miku got delivered the other day, so I decided to display her with HMO Miku – I’m sure the two of them together can get through any hardships! 😛

My parents live in the 20km radius around the nuclear plant that is always featuring on TV, and thus have been moved to a city called Tomioka. I am living in Ibaraki prefecture, so I didn’t get hit by the disaster too badly myself, but my parents have had to rent out a new apartment. I went to visit them not too long ago, and all they had to say was ‘I’m really not sure if we can keep living here…”

I don’t want to abandon the place where I grew up! I’m sure that one day we will all be able to return! Good luck, Fukushima and Tomioka!

Sorry for the cellphone picture – I decided to use my hand as a base for the photo to go along with the message on the flag – “Let’s all hold hands and work together!” Holding onto others hands really is a nice warm feeling in times of trouble. I hope that the troubles in the disaster areas are improving each day, and that all will be back to normal as soon as possible!!

We’re finally into the rainy season which means summer is officially here!
A lot of Eastern Japan is still trying hard to conserve electricity, but I do hope everyone is still keeping safe and looking after their health!

I’m sure there are still thousands of people that are suffering from the effects of the horrendous earthquake. I thought long and hard about what kind of photo I could send through with the hope that it might bring a smile to their faces, and eventually decided on this one. My mother does flower arranging as a hobby, so I borrowed the flowers from her – I hope they will help make people throughout Japan be happier with smiles on their faces!
