Hizamaru (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

I feel like going to visit Kyoto again… I need to go at least once more before the end of the year! Today I’m going to be taking a look at the…
1/8th Scale Hizamaru!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Hizamaru based on his standard standing illustration from the game. His slim, fit build, powerful looking stance and iconic hair style have all been captured as faithfully as possible in figure form. The figure can be enjoyed from any angle you please and is filled with details that bring out Hizamaru’s charm. Be sure to add him to your collection!

“I am Hizamaru, a treasure of the Minamoto family. Have you seen my brother around?”

The sword known as a priceless treasure to the Minamoto family, Hizamaru, has been transformed into a scale figure! His asymmetrical light green hair, stylish outfit and elegant appearance has all been captured so perfectly!!

The back of the figure also looks amazing!

The tight fitting outfit shows off his fit and slim body!

You’ll notice there are also a couple of creases at the bottom of his shirt for a little bot of realism, but if you look a little higher up you’ll notice there are little to no creases up higher as he holds out his chest in confidence! It also brings out his fit physique! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

The sword he holds in his left hand is attached to his side with metal fixtures that are so very intricate!

Areas like this you don’t normally notice when looking at him from the front, but even so the details of the metal parts and the ties have been so beautifully sculpted! Be sure to take a look all over the figure once he joins your collection! (∩・∀・)∩

The accessories of his outfit on his chest and around his shoulders have also been included in lovely detail! ★

▲ The different layers of his outfit, the gradient on the tassel… so much to see!

The ties of his armor on the back of his legs and even the fasteners of his boots all look amazing!

▲ The little bows and the creases in his pants! So intricate! (´□｀｡)

His hairstyle is rather unique in the way it flows out to the sides, but the sculpt has carefully taken this into account to ensure that no matter what angle you look from the flow of his hair still looks nice and natural! ♪

Speaking of his hair, the original illustration had the front section of his hair is see-through, and this has been captured on the figure with the use of translucent parts…

However, in order to keep the figure from looking too strange the transparency has been kept to a lower degree than on the illustration, so you can’t quite make out his entire right eye through the hair. (/ω＼)

That said, if you change the angle you will see that the eye has still been faithfully included on the design! If you want to see both his eyes simply find an angle that allows it!

▲ I personally quite like looking up at him from a lower angle like this!

Also note the way that each and every one of his fingers has been sculpted with a different nuance that make them look so strong and manly! The fingers on the Touken Ranbu figures always look so amazing to me!

He really is one of those figures that really changes depending on the angle you choose to look from, so I hope that everyone will enjoy looking for the angle they like best once he arrives in their collection! Not to mention that you can slide your finger along all these beautiful details for yourself!!

Nendoroid Juzumaru Tsunetsugu (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

The changes in temperature between the last few days here in Japan has been huge! We’re getting to that season where it is hard to wake up and get out of your nice warm bed in the morning!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at a product currently up for preorder…
Nendoroid Juzumaru Tsunetsugu!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a Nendoroid of Juzumaru Tsunetsugu, one of the Five Great Swords! He comes with three face plates including a standard face, a combat face as well as a smiling expression based on the anniversary illustration from the game.

His sword can be displayed both sheathed or drawn and he comes a string of prayer beads and other parts allowing you to display him in various different situations. Be sure to add him to your collection!

The second of the Five Great Swords to join the Nendoroid series, Juzumaru Tsunetsugu!

The amount of detail that has been put into the gradient and sculpt of each of the beads as well as their glossy appearance is simply outstanding! ヽ(*´∀｀)ノ

All of the Touken Ranbu Nendoroids have been very carefully sculpted to capture as much detail as possible in chibi size, but Juzumaru is possibly on a completely different level in terms of detail!

▲ The gradient of his hair is also beautiful!

The flow of hair has also been captured very nicely with the sculpt, and if we look behind the hair you can see the details of his outfit from the back, which is not something you normally get much opportunity to see on Juzumaru!

The creases on his outfit around the bends of his body have also been captured very nicely! The more you look the more little details you see!! ( ･ㅂ･)و ̑̑

▲You can see a little gap of bare skin between his cuffs and gloves!

Anyway, let’s move on and take a look at his different face plates! The first we have is the standard expression that I’ve included from the start, but he also comes with two different alternate options! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

His second face plate is a combat expression!

This confident pose together with a powerful looking expression! You can just see his eyebrows peeking through his long hair which show he is putting much more force into this expression!

His sword is included both sheathed and drawn allowing for various different display options! – from scenes from the game to all original scenes! ♪

Plus as you may have noticed, he comes with two different strings of prayer beads! Simply select the one that better suits your pose! ε=(｡・д・｡)

Moving on to his third face plate…

A pure and gentle smiling face!

This expression is based on an illustration that was drawn for the game’s release celebrations! He even comes complete with the flower that was in the original illustration!

Even though his eyes are always closed, the different in the position of the eyes, the mouth and the eyebrows make for such a different impression!

In addition, just like all the previously released Touken Ranbu Nendoroids, he comes with a special round base… but as his hair is so big he also comes with a special extension part that can support him completely! (∩・∀・)∩

Izuminokami Kanesada (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

Today’s Main Feature!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the figure made in collaboration between Sentinel and ORANGE ROUGE…

The 1/8th Scale Figure…
Izuminokami Kanesada!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Izuminokami Kanesada based on his standard standing illustration from the game! His calm and confident expression that can be seen through his beautiful long black hair, his beautiful red and gold kimono and all the other details of Izuminokami’s design have been faithfully preserved on the figure, creating an item filled with charm for fans to enjoy by their side! Be sure to add him to your collection!

The way the various layers of his outfit have been sculpted also looks amazing, the the textures of the different parts of the outfit have all been painted separately! ♪

The boots peeking out at the bottom even have a shiny leather-like finish!

The way it has been sculpted also hows how nice and firm the boots are!

The area around his hips is also packed with details!

Next let’s take a closer look at his facial expression! The impression you get from the figure differs quite vastly depending on whether you match his gaze or instead have him looking to the side! You’ll need to play around with some angles until he fits best in your collection! ♪

Nendoroid Okanehira (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

Hello everyone! Chan-shuu (@gscs_hirase) from the GSC planing team here!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at ORANGE ROUGE’s…
Nendoroid Okanehira!

From the popular browser and smartphone game ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the Bizen sword, Okanehira! He comes with three face plates including a standard face, a combat face as well as a smiling expression based on his “Naturally” line from the game. His sword can be displayed both sheathed or drawn allowing you to recreate various scenes from the game. Be sure to add him to your collection!

“There are some that say that I am in fact the most beautiful sword!”

Okanehira is a Bizen sword just like Nendoroid Uguisumaru who was also recently announced! He is also the 20th character to join the Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- Nendoroid series!! There are still many other characters in the works, so look out for more soon!! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Anyway, let’s take a closer look at Okanehira…

▼ His lovely red hair…

The sharp tips of his hair have carefully painted to have the shades match the tips making for a very faithful rendition in Nendoroid size! the grey eyes peeling out from the hair also look so clear and confident!

The first thing I want to draw your attention to is the use of reds for the armor and cords all over the outfit that bring out such a lovely contrast with the blacks. The little golden details of the emblem and belts have also been carefully painted and make for a lovely accent! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

The figure went through various iterations to ensure that no matter what angle you chose to look from, the figure would always keep Okanehira’s shape in tact!

The sword can be placed sheathed at his side like above, but can also be removed like below!

▼Let’s move on to some combat scenes!

*His right arm parts were being slightly adjusted, so this photo is from the GSC site.

His second face plate is an expression more suited to combat, with sharp eyes and gritted teeth! Here is is posed with one leg out to the side and the other bent as if just about to make his next move!

▼ The shoulder armor can also be freely moved around!

▲ The armor on his right shoulder features a ball joint which allows for many more posing opportunities while wielding the sword! Here is an example of how it can be moved around!

Just look at the confidence in that smile! He comes with folded arms to bring out that cocky look even more!

Urashima Kotetsu (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

Today’s Main Feature!

I just realized we are already in August! I have hardly done anything Summer-like this Summer except maybe eating some shaved ice! I can’t believe how much time flies!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at an item that will be up for preorder from tomorrow, the 1/8th scale figure…

Urashima Kotetsu!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Urashima Kotetsu based on his standard standing illustration from the game!
His spirited smile, the intricate wave patterns on his kimono, his tied up bright orange hair and the rigid armor that covers various parts of his body have all been captured as faithfully as possible for fans to enjoy Urashima Kotetsu by their side. Be sure to add him to your collection!

“Urashima Kotetsu, heading into battle!”

The wakizashi, Urashima Kotetsu is joining the Touken Ranbu 1/8th scale figure series! The figure is based on his standard pose from the game and captures his spirited personality so perfectly in figure form! (*´꒳`*)

His bright orange hair has been sculpted in amazing detail!

The flowing look of his outfit and the glossy and heavy look of the armor contrast really nicely, with the difference in textures captured with different paints!

The area around his belly button is filled with so much details, just look at all the different textures and colors around that area! (´□｀｡)

▲ The brown cord even has the vertical lines from the original design!

Plus just look at his innocent smile!

Also note that his abs and upper arm are all sculpted with a powerful look you would expect of a Touken Danshi!

Plus if you look from a lower angle…

You can see the way his outfit has been sculpted around the appearance of his tones abs with the ups and downs of the sculpt! Details like this never cease to amaze me!!

Plus, speaking of details…

Look at the intricate pattern on the collar area of his outfit!!!

Most people will probably look at the adorable Kamekichi on his shoulder first, but when you look even close and realise that this pattern is actually sculpted onto the figure… that’s when you realize how absolutely amazing the detail is on this figure!

When we take a look from the back! (*´∀｀*)

Taking a peek from a lower angle allows you to see that even the bow underneath his outfit has been sculpted to keep the realism of the figure as best as possible!

Enjoy his amazingly detailed outfit and playful personality with the figure by your side!!

Nendoroid Uguisumaru (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

Hello everyone! Long time no see! Chan-shuu from Good Smile Company’s planning team here! (@gscs_hirase)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at this item currently up for preorder…
Nendoroid Uguisumaru!

From the popular browser and smartphone game ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the Bizen sword, Uguisumaru! He comes with three face plates including a standard face, a combat face as well as a smiling expression based on his “sometimes it’s good to take it easy” line from the game.

His sword can be displayed both sheathed or drawn allowing you to recreate various scenes from the game, and he also comes with parts that were seen in the 1st anniversary celebration illustration. Be sure to add him to your collection!

“Okanehira thinks too much of the ‘Five Great Swords’ title.”

A Nendoroid of the the Bizen sword, Uguisumaru and the 19th Nendoroid to join the Touken Ranbu series!! We’re almost at the big number 20!

▼ First up, a look at his hair!

You may notice that the hair over his right eye actually makes use of slightly translucent parts! It’s a little hard to see in the light, but if we darken the room and shine a light on him…

You can see the bottom of the hair has a slightly see-through look to it and you can just make out the skin color beneath the hair! This is in order to capture the original illustration as faithfully as possible!

▼ Next a look at his outfit!

The green bracer and mostly black outfit give him a very stylish look! The white belt also creates a lovely contrast! The crest on his chest is rather tiny but still has such amazing detail!

Uguisumaru’s iconic spiky hair looks great from the back as well, with each of the tufts of hair carefully sculpted and positioned! This was actually one of the most difficult parts to get right on the Nendoroid! (´∀｀；)

The sword is sheathed on his hips and includes semi-glossy gold parts which add a nice touch to the black and matches with his outfit nicely! ♪

▼ Switch to a Combat Pose!

He comes with a combat expression with clenched teeth and a sharp gaze, and he can also be posed with his sword drawn and held in his left hand! ♪

Here I attempted to pose him in the moment before he switches from single-handed to two-handed wielding! From this angle you can see that his right eye is actually closed for this expression! Even though it is covered by his hair the entire expression is always faithfully included! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

Nikkari Aoe (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
The 1/8th Scale Nikkari Aoe!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Nikkari Aoe based on his standard standing illustration from the game! His charming facial expression, white cloak and long hair blowing in the wind have all been captured in careful detail to capture the mysterious Aoe in figure form. The sculpt has captured Aoe’s character in beautiful detail and he is ready to stand by your side, so be sure to add him to your collection!

“Oh? Are you interested in me?”

The famous sword said to even be able to cut through ghosts, Nikkari Aoe is being transformed into a handsome scale figure!

The large white cloak he has draped over his shoulder makes use of translucent parts to faithfully capture the see-through look from the original illustration!

▲ He looks great from the back too! ♪

Note that the armored parts of his outfit have a shiny glossy finish, while the belt and other areas have a semi-matte finish to give them that leathery appearance!

Plus just look at all the creases in his outfit! They have all been sculpted in such intricate detail – the way they are done really make it look like the clothes are being “worn”, if you know what I mean. You can really imagine the body underneath the clothes thanks to the way they are creased. (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

His beautiful long hair has also been carefully preserved, with the unique colors recreated with a gentle gradient effect! ♡

▲ The ponytail blowing about behind him… so very beautiful!

The soft appearance of the white fabric has also been preserved through the sculpt – the gentle outline and coloring make it appear to have a soft and thin texture! ★

▲ Long legs with a positioned crease in the center of the pants for style!

The figure was sculpted by Max Factory’s Nanako!

The first time I saw the figure I thought it had to be Nanako!

Thanks to everyone who tuned into today’s ORANGE ROUGE live stream! Today I’m going to be taking a look at the 1/8th scale…
Mikazuki Munechika: Awakened Ver.!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Mikazuki Munechika based on his “Awakened” appearance.

The powerful impact of his pose together with the gorgeous details of his outfit have all been captured in careful detail, with the intricate golden patterns woven into his dark blue kimono faithfully included on the figure. The vivid gradient of the kimono as also been preserved to fully capture Mikazuki’s charm, and can be enjoyed from any angle you please. Mikazuki Munechika is said to be the most beautiful of the Five Great Swords, so be sure to add his beauty to your collection!

The most beautiful of the Five Great Swords, Mikazuki Munechika is back once again as a 1/8th scale figure, this time in his “Awakened” version!

The figure was shown as a prototype back during the 2017 Winter Wonder Festival, and now it is finally ready to go up for preorder! ヽ(*´Д｀*)ﾉ

This is how he looks from the back!

The twist in his hips and the movement of the outfit together with the twist have all been captured beautifully! (∩・∀・)∩

Just like the previously released Mikazuki Munechika, this version also includes the intricate patterns and prints of the outfit!

This design is easily one of the most detailed designs that our manufacturing team have ever had to deal with, but it comes out looking so beautiful and the way the light reflects against it brings out the glossy look o the fabric, as well as the creases that form from the dynamic poses! ((´д`●))三((●´д`))

The contrast between “Still” and “Dynamic”!

This time around the figure is based on Mikazuki’s Awakened appearance that he takes when unleashing a powerful attack in combat! The composed and confident look on his face captures his gallant character so beautifully!

The dirt and tears in his outfit from the battle have also been preserved on the figure!

▲ The “dirty” look has been captured so perfectly!

The amount of dirt and tears of the outfit on areas that were never visible on the original illustration have all been carefully considered based on the front appearance!

The way the tears and dirt have been included on the figure establish the situation and tell a story as to how the fight has gone down!

▲The cut into his chest and the tear in his outfit where he was cut… the scrapes on his arm… just looking at them make you realise how heated the battle has been!

While I love figures for their artistic beauty, I also love having them set in a situation like this so that you can think about their character and background as you look at the beautiful figure! ★

Mikazuki Munechika: Awakened Ver. has been sculpted by Sato!

This is the same sculptor that has brought us previous Touken Ranbu scale figures such as Yamatonokami Yasusada and Okurikara! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”

This figure is rather different to the previous Touken Ranbu scale figures as the Awakening version is a more focused on a look in combat, but there is still a very refined and graceful look to Mikazuki’s stance and sculpt!

They often say that a good sword fight is just as beautiful as a dance, but looking at this figure was the first time that I thought that may actually be true!

The stance, the way his clothes flow around him, and the movement captured in his feet all show off his fighting prowess! The details on the accessories of his outfit together with his hair blowing in the wind as he moves around are also all so perfect!!

The figure captures both the rough side of combat together with the elegance of Mikazuki for beautiful contrast with such amazing attention to detail!!

Below are some of the points of the figure that really stood out to me!

– Feet –

The tips of his toes clearly have so much strength put into them capturing the tension of the battle and also causing the tabi to come with a very uneven sculpt. The hakama he is wearing also has a beautifully soft look to it as it swirls around with his motion!

Also note the motion and details included on the tassels!

– From the Back–

As I had just mentioned, the motion of the tassels is incredible, and from the back they look even more amazing as they flick around together with the flapping motion of the blue flap.

If you look close you’ll even notice that the reverse side of the flap even has the pattern and the back-stitching of the tassels! One of the best things about figures is that you can see all the areas that were never visible on the original illustration – simply pick the any angle you wish!!

– Body –

The bare skin Mikazuki is showing from his right shoulder down to his waist looks so impressive in so many different ways! Just look at those abs and pectoral muscles! (/ω＼)

Mikazuki may be known as a character that takes things at his own pace, but looking at this figure you can certainly see he is ready to fight with the best of the sword boys!

Also note the thickness of his gloves! You can see the point the end at his elbows there is a sudden drop in thickness to reveal his toned arms!

– Facial Expression –

Last but not least: His gallant facial expression!

Those sharp eyes and shouting mouth with his lips and teeth all sculpted so amazingly!! It’s certainly a different impression to the previous Mikazuki, but still a very important part of his character!! I’m so glad I can look at it so close up now!! (｀；ω；´)

Also note those beautiful crescent moons in his pupils!! Looking right into his eyes like this is probably my favorite way to look at the figure!! ♡

There is really far too much to look at with a figure like this! I hope I managed to capture at least most of his charm for everyone! Be sure to take a nice close look from all sorts of different angles once he joins your collection!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the 1/8th scale…
Heshikiri Hasebe!

From the popular browser and smartphone game ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-‘ comes a 1/8th scale figure of Heshikiri Hasebe based on his standard standing illustration from the game! While he has gentle smile on his face he still retains a calm and composed look, and his deep purple western-style outfit has been faithfully preserved down to the finest of details. The figure is overflowing with charm and will be proud stand by your side, so be sure to add him to your collection!

The sword who is loyal to his master and will obey any order without hesitation: Heshikiri Hasebe is joining the 1/8th scale Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- figures!

His painted prototype was revealed at the last Wonder Festival, but he is now finally come to the point where preorders are just around the corner!

Since WonFes the sculpt and paintwork have been even more refined to bring out his cool and composed appearance beautifully on the figure!! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Heshikiri Hasebe’s characteristic outfit and accessories have all been faithfully transformed into figure form. That deep royal purple makes him look so stunning!

▲ The outfit fits him so nicely! It makes him look so ascetic!

The pose is based on his standard illustration from the game and captures that calm, composed and perhaps somewhat stoic appearance together with a nice dynamic feeling that really makes it seem like he is walking forward!

It’s quite hard to put into words, but even though the sculpt captures the soft flow of the fabric as it billows around him, the heavy pull down of the overcoat has also been captured so nicely!

The sculptor this time around was Kohirou! Amazing work that captures the outfit, armor and sword perfectly…

This goes for all of the Touken Ranbu scale figures so far, but there really is something so special about them that makes them really stand out and bring about their own atmosphere even as a figure! It really feels like Heshikiri Hasebe is right beside you!!

It’s just a figure but it’s as if he could be breathing… there is something about him that makes him look so alive!

Also note the thick appearance of his gloves! ♪

Be sure to take a nice close look at each of his little fingers once he joins your collection! ヽ(●´Д｀●)ﾉ

Next let’s take a look at his shoes!!

The leather shoes are not only sculpted beautifully, but the shiny appearance of the leather has been preserved with the paintwork to bring out the texture of the leather!

The way his pants slightly cover the top of the shoes with creases where the shoes match up also show the careful attention to detail! ★

Time for a closer look at his face!!

Those eyes…!

Those eyes capture his loyalty and the line from that I started with the blog with so well: “Leave it to me. I shall provide only the best possible results.”

▲ Those confident eyes and eyebrows look great! ♪

The expression not only makes him look determined and loyal, but the fact that it is also a smile captures his more gentle demeanour as well! I would be so happy to be Heshikiri’s master and have this confident smile to cheer me on each and every day!!

There is still a lot more I want to say, but I’m going to have to leave it at this for now!

I will be taking a much closer look at the figure together with his head planner next week on a love broadcast, so I do hope everyone will tune in to get a closer look!!

Nendoroid Izuminokami Kanesada (Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at ORANGE ROUGE‘s…
Nendoroid Izuminokami Kanesada!!

From the popular browser and smartphone game ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the awesome and powerful sword Izuminokami Kanesada! He comes with three face plates including a standard expression, a combat expression as well as a smiling expression that fits many of his lines from the game!

His sword can be displayed both sheathed or drawn allowing you to recreate various scenes from the game!! Be sure to add him to your collection together with Nendoroid Horikawa Kunihiro who will be available for preorder at the same time!

“I am Izuminokami Kanesada! I am awesome, powerful and recently one of the most popular swords!”

The sword said to be used by Hijikata Toshizou, the vice-commander of Shinsengumi! Izuminokami Kanesada is joining the Nendoroids!! This is the sixth uchigatana to join the Nendoroid Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- series! The alternating white-blue horizontal stripes on his haori jacket show his association with the Shinsengumi, and also contrasts so nicely with the deep red kimono he is wearing!

From the front his hair already looks magnificent, but from the back you can see all the way down to the tips which really show off just how much volume his hair has!! The red string that ties to two sides together in the middle has also been faithfully included, giving a little touch of cuteness to the manly Izuminokami! (*´ω｀*)

He has rather fancy earrings and although they are tiny in Nendoroid size that have been carefully sculpted to look just as they do in his original designs! The covers on the back of his hand and the various shapes and patterns on the tassets and area around his hips are also amazingly intricate!

This really is challenging the limits of the amount of detail we can put onto Nendoroids! Such tiny little details are often omitted from the Nendoroid designs, but Izuminokami is too awesome to not include as much as possible!!

▲This allows for more dynamic poses!

Normally the haori sticks directly to the shape of his body, but this movement allows you to pose him with it fluttering around him which can make for some really epic poses that suit an epic character! The kanji on the back of the hoari reads ‘Truth’ – a symbol of the shinsengumi!

His combat expression has gritted teeth and one eye shut! He looks to be having quite a rough battle!
