I’m being watched!!

Talk about an intense gaze! The review of this figure is already a little late and I’ve still got a pile of work to get through… but I’ll take some time right now to have a quick look at her for the blog!

From the Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku:
1/8th Scale Mikudayo!

The popular Mikudayo character costume based on ‘Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku’ was first transformed into a Nendoroid, and now is also on her way to becoming a 20cm tall 1/8th scale vinyl figure as well! The hair section on the figure even makes use of the same texture as the original for a truly realistic rendition of the costume!

She’s so big!! (((ﾟДﾟ)))

This version of Mikudayo is an amazing 1/8th scale! Even the Nendoroid size had an incredible presence… this version is much bigger, and even closer to being just like the real thing!

This is how she looks from the back!

The slightly tilted pose is lovely! It really makes it look just like the actual character costume – those of you who have seen the actual costume will realize how similar they are!!

This will help give you an idea as to how big Dayo-san is. She stands 20cm tall!

I took this photo trying to pose Dayo-san patting Miku on the head… it almost looks like she’s attacking her instead though!

Her hair has a soft texture!

To recreate the feel of the original costume, the hair is all soft and has a similar texture to the original costume. The soft fluffy feeling is very similar to the ‘Sylvanian Families’ series of animal toys – basically very short hairs that feel wonderful to the touch! It’s such a relaxing feeling! （´∀｀）

Note the creases in her clothes!

You might not have expected such detailed close-ups for this review… but it is a 1/8th scale figure after all! She deserves the same attention as any other 1/8th scale review! 😛

All the small details that make Dayo-san special can be seen – from the tight looking clothes at the chest area down to the floppy looking jagged edges of her blouse!

Her long boots!

I think one of the main factors that makes Dayo-san who she is, is the odd sense of imbalance between the top and bottom half of her body! Her legs actually look unexpectedly thin!

I also only just realized… but you can even see the creases on her arms!! Attention to the smallest of details is the Good Smile way! 😛

Some ‘Pop Candy’ is included!

As an optional part, the ‘Mikudayo x Fujiya’ collaboration product, ‘Pop Candy’ is also included! This is also included with Nendoroid Mikudayo… I look forward to displaying both the big and small version of her together, both in the same pose!

Holding some real Pop Candy!

The FamilyMart x Hatsune Miku project started today, so I decided to grab some Mikudayo Pop Candy and have her hold the real thing instead!! It’s actually quite an appropriate size – although I am holding it in place with double-sided tape. 😛

Doesn’t she look happy now that she has some real Pop Candy? If Dayo-san is happy, then I’m happy too!!

She’s humongous!! I think this picture gives you quite a good idea of her size… she’s easily bigger than a small dog. If you take part in the lottery, be sure to be ready to carry this home with you! 😛

The packaging is pretty much identical to the original Nendoroid packaging, just the logo and catchphrases on the side have been altered to include the ‘Jumbo’ size! If you’re lucky enough to win her you’ll be able to enjoy this special size Miku Nendoroid whenever you like! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

Comparing sizes with Nendoroid Miku!

This size definitely gives her a very stark presence… although a somewhat different kind of presence to Dayo-san though. I think she’s a great size to leave in your entrance hall, similar to the larger threeA products or the soft vinyl Kyubey! (What is it that makes big products good for the entrance hall? :P)

She makes use of a U-shaped stand that connects at the neck. There are also supports for her twintails so even in spite of her size she stands up very stably!

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Santa Ver.

A Nendoroid based on one of Sega’s DIVA modules! It’s simply amazing how cute Miku looks dressed up in a Santa costume!!

I love the fact that her Santa hat has two little holes for her hair – it’s like the hat was specially designed for her!

This is how the packaging looks!

She comes with two different facial expressions, bent arms and a number of optional parts to bring about the Christmas spirit! Even as a lottery draw prize she comes with so many different options to enjoy!

I’d love to have something this cute bring my Christmas presents! Her body fits into the chimney neatly for cute poses like this – just look at her little hands holding onto the sides!!!

Her hat can also be removed!

It’s quite strange seeing Miku without her hair accessories, it gives her quite a fresh feeling! She also comes with a bag full of presents which she can hold over her shoulder!

Although… I think Miku-san herself is the real present 😛

A wonderful set of three Nendoroid Petites!

I can hardly believe this is a C Prize!! There are no alternate parts or anything, but the details on each of them is spectacular!

Such intricate paintwork and sculpting!

The seem to have the same details as full-sized Nendoroids even though they’re so tiny! It’s amazing!

Even the reverse side is also so detailed… just look at how amazing the area around Rin’s hips look!! I would be more than happy to get these in the draw… I think I’d even hope to get them! 😛

There are two different types of cushion – the one on the left is the Hobby Shop Version and the one on the right is the FamilyMart Version! The FamilyMart version is based on the Nikuman that were sold at FamilyMart over the Summer!

The first play of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F on the PS3!? Tune in for the latest information!

Sega has been hard at work preparing the PS3 version of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F for today!

The first live play-test in the world!

This is going to be a lot of fun!! Plus I also hear we’ll have someone from Famitsu at the broadcast as well!!

Maybe I’ll be picked to be the very first person to test the game, that would be incredible! This really isn’t the right time to be a host of a the show, I want to be the tester!! There will be a ton of brand new information too, so if you’re a fan of the game don’t forget to tune in!

– FamilyMart Time –  

This Winter there will be another FamilyMart x Hatsune Miku Project! A detailed campaign report!

In Summer the FamilyMart x Hatsune Miku projecy was a huge sensation! I ended up going to FamilyMart much more often myself… 😛

Perhaps that means we’ll be finding out what special food, snacks and goods will be coming to FamilyMart this Winter?!

Ooh! This is also super exiting!! The specials they had on during Summer were wonderful! I wonder if Miku Dayo’s food of choice will be making appearance…?

In Summer we helped out the Miku Lottery with a 1/8th scale FamilyMart Miku and Nendoroid FamilyMart Miku, but this Winter we’ve decided to create a full GSC lottery instead!

Send in Your Catch Phrase Ideas for Nendoroid Sakura Miku’s Packaging!

She is currently in mass-production in order to get her to everyone, and I promise she’ll be arriving at your doorstep looking just as adorable as ever!

The packaging and box design is also currently in development, but haven’t you ever wondered who comes up with the catch phrases at the sides of the ‘window’ on the Nendoroid figure boxes?
It’s normally the job of the head planner!
Awhile back the design team used to be the ones who thought them up, but I think it makes much more sense for the planner who knows all about the product to come up with the text instead! Although there are also times that the publishers request something specific to be placed there too.
I think having the catch phrase right there on the front of the box is a great way to bring someone’s attention to a specific figure among all the different products that are lined up on the shelves.
But this time… Σ(ﾟωﾟ*)

We’re requesting catch phrase ideas for Sakura Miku’s box from the fans!!
We’re going to be collecting together all the lovely ideas that all of you can come up with, and use the best ones on the final packaging for Sakura Miku! It’s the very first time we’ve run a project like this for a Nendoroid, it’s quite exiting to see what is going to come up!
Those who come up with the phrases we end up using will receive Nendoroid Sakura Miku for free!!
We’ll also put your name on the box!! However… unfortunately we’re only going to be able to accept entries in Japanese!

We’re looking for two different phrases!
The first is the left phrase on the front of the box, which must include “action figure”, and 13 other characters. The second is the right phrase on the front, which is completely up to you, but can only be 25 characters long.
They should be phrases that make you think of Sakura Miku!

It’s been three months since we first saw this Nendoroid on display at WonFes, and the prototype has finally been completed for me to review on the blog!!

From Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku:
Nendoroid Miku Dayo!

From ‘Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku’ comes a Nendoroid of the conspicuous character based on Hatsune Miku, Miku Dayo! Her flappy twin-tails that became ever-popular at events have been faithfully recreated in Nendoroid size, and even move about in the same way as the original costume!


I’m sure there are a couple of you that are wondering who the heck this is… let me create a quick summary of how she was created!

(1) Sega made the ‘Project mirai’ game, featuring Nendoroid Vocaloids!
(2) A life-size Nendoroid Miku costume was made to promote the game!
(3) Everyone felt the costume didn’t quite feel like the real Miku!
(4) The costume Miku became her own character, Miku Dayo!
(5) Miku Dayo is made into a Nendoroid, completing the cycle!

That about sums it up! Those of you who are hearing about this for the first time may find it quite hard to believe, but this strange version of Miku has become loved just after appearing at a few events!

Those of you who have seen the actual costume that created Miku Dayo will know just how amazing of a rendition this is!

The way her neck is all sunken down and covered by her head, the flappy twin-tails, the really long boots and the wrinkles on her back are all special characteristics that had to be reproduced on the Nendoroid! 😛

Both the costume and the Nendoroid can move in all sorts of ways, including her flappy twin-tails! I tried to create a running pose for this photo! (`･ω･´)

She comes with ball joints in her shoulders for a wider variety of arm poses compared to normal Nendoroids!

Thanks to that, you can pose her with her arms almost completely horizontal like this, or have them straight in front of her like the photo before this one! It’s kind of like just her arms were given the fully-posable ‘edition’ series treatment.

The reasoning behind it was of course to allow you to pose the Nendoroid in the same poses that the original costume takes!

Phew, that was a close one, I nearly gave it away… Dayo-san would have been so angry with me!! The optional parts will be announced shortly!

It’s almost like a forbidden image to have both of them in the same photo… but it gives you a good feel for the differences. ^^;

I think Miku Dayo will have a load of fun playing with other Nendoroids and figures… I also hope that the colorful background will be included as the cardboard mat in the back of the packaging!

Support Regarding Nendoroid Snow Miku: Fluffy Coat Ver.

A quick message for everyone who reads the blog…

Thank you for your continued support of Good Smile Company products!

We have already sent a mail out to everyone who purchased Nendoroid Snow Miku: Fluffy Coat Ver. regarding the defects that occurred in production. Along with all the delays that occurred, there were still defects to come through, and I wish to apologize for all the problems this product has caused to our customers.

As mentioned on the GSC site, we will be taking the following actions to help remedy this problem.

– Defects on the mike stand, shovel parts, twintail joints and hair ribbon –

At the end of September, a mike stand/shovel part set, two twintail joints and a hair ribbon will be sent to everyone who ordered this product from the GSC Online Shop.

These will be sent to everyone who ordered Miku, whether you experienced defects or not. We will send you an email to inform you as soon as these replacements are sent.

…is Miku’s 5th year anniversary!

Congratulations Miku-san!! I hope that your next year brings you even more lovely fans!!As usual, I even grabbed a cake to celebrate! Every year I’ve got a cake to celebrate, but this year there is a little gift to Miku as well!

This special figure was officially announced on the GSC website today! (`･ω･´)

Nendoroid Sakura Miku!

It’s Miku wearing an adorable pink outfit created with the image of cherry blossoms! The design is based on an illustration by Putidevil, which has been converted into Nendoroid form with careful attention to the meticulous use of color in the illustration! Now everyone can enjoy their Spring with Sakura Miku by their side!

A while back I did an article introducing her to everyone, but she has gone through a number of improvements since then!

Even the smallest details are really adorable – I’ll be taking a look at them along with the various optional parts! (ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

This is how she looks from the back!

The cherry decoration is absolutely lovely! The shiny effect makes them look really delicious too! The reverse side of the headset, which wasn’t even visible in the original illustration, has also been beautifully sculpted!

While you can’t see it here yet, the stand is planned to be a standard Nendoroid arm-type stand.

Beautiful cherry blossom on her hair!

There are pink and white blossom prints, and the white ones have a stunning white gradient applied to them! I can’t imagine how much stamp printing each one of these will take to produce…

Also to match Putidevi’s illustration, the edges of the sleeves have been changed to be more rounded!

She also comes with a crying expression!

This expression makes it seem like Miku is sad that the blossoms are falling from the trees… it’s so cute that it was actually hard for me to switch to a different expression after putting this one on!

The cherry blossom flower in her hand is also included!
You can even switch hand parts and let other characters hold it, if you’d like!

A normal headset and cherry hair accessories!

This allows you to display Sakura Miku exactly the way she looked when she was first released as a charm! The headset and accessories are not the same part though – you can mix and match between the parts you saw above and create the exact Sakura Miku that you like! Just take a look at the upcoming photos, you’ll see some different combinations of the various parts!

… I’m sure a couple of you are thinking that! There is a very good chance of that, as this expression  comes straight from one of Putidevil’s illustrations!!

Sakura Miku enjoying a rice cake!!

She is sitting on a tower of cushions enjoying a delicious rice cake wrapped in a cherry blossom leaf! The illustration was originally done by Putidevil at the Sakura Miku café that was held at the Akihabara GSC Tetsujin Café!

The sculptor, Maruhige, even made the cushions able to be piled up like this to completely recreate the illustration!

A cherry blossom pedestal is included!

How exactly Miku will stand while on this pedestal is still under consideration, but just balancing her on it for now looks wonderful! An adorable cherry blossom fairy!! 😛

The pedestal makes use of clear parts as well as a gradient effect!

This is show it looks from the side!

Sakura Miku might not come with quite as many extra parts as other Nendoroids nowadays (although that’s not to say she comes with too few…), but a huge amount of effort has been put into Sakura Miku herself! A lot more work has gone into perfecting the Nendoroid itself compared to normal Nendoroids, and I think that shows just by looking at the detail you can see in this photo!

Unfortunately it does also mean the price is a little bit higher than a normal Nendoroid, but I’m confident that everyone who grabs her will be more than satisfied with their purchase!

Those who ordered Snow Miku online should be receiving their Snow Mikus very shortly! Once again, we are very sorry for all the delays!!

The contrast between the ‘Winter’ and ‘Spring’ colors makes for a very lovely scene! I think displaying the two of them together is ideal!

Nendoroid Petite x Mini 4WD Racing Miku:

A collaboration between Nendoroid Petite and Tamiya’s Mini 4WD which has just had it’s 30th anniversary! They are produced by Dengeki Hobby Magazine and the first car will be based off the Hatsune Miku GT Project’s mascot character, Racing Miku!

Guys who love figures and cars can now combine their two hobbies into one! The race during the live broadcast was a promotion for this collaboration!

The Mini 4Ds are made with the ‘Astute Open Top’ concept design!
A Nendoroid Petite can fit comfortably into the driver’s seat and drive it themselves! The hands and the wheel will be a single part, so you don’t need to worry about Miku falling out either!

This is how it looks from the back! The colors are done to make the Mini 4WD look much like a racing car, which I think both Nendoroid and Mini 4WD fans will enjoy!

The version on the left is a standard Open Top model!

It makes use of a black and red for a very slick feeling (which I like just as much!). But the coloring used for the Racing Miku car is amazingly cute! By the way, the black car here was put together by me!!

And the result… my car stopped half way!

Guts took a look at my car and apparently I hadn’t put the switch on completely… definitely an amateur’s mistake! I didn’t expect to win the race, but to not even finish was rather disappointing!

This is how it looks from the bottom!

That green color is definitely a Miku color!! As a whole the car makes use of pink, green, white and some blue! You just need to get hold of some diagonal pliers and it only about half an hour to put together!

Special stickers are also included for the Mini 4WD!

According to Oda-P, if you put the stickers on the car goes faster! You can place whichever stickers you like wherever you like to create your very own original Mini 4WD!

This was the final race of the night!
Oda-P was on the left, Narisawa was in the middle and MC Guts was on the right! It was a contest between the three different companies!

I’m sorry I can’t show you the full video!

The cars really were so incredibly fast, it was hard to keep your eyes on them!! As expected from the final race, there were no cars running off the track or stopping at any point in the race!

Just look at all the comments he received from viewers!! 😛 Just watching the race was absolutely spectacular! It really goes to show that you’re never too old to have some fun!

Tamiya is currently developing a product that will let Nendo Petites ride and Mini 4WD!

These images are all development images which they allowed me to use on the blog! Mini 4WDs go incredibly fast so they need to ensure the Nendoroid Petite doesn’t fly out while the car is going!

The beer in Summer really is delicious. I’m not really the kind of person who drinks a lot of beer, but in the Summer I sometimes treat myself to some!

However, MEIKO actually has a champagne bottle in her hand as well! This is actually optional parts to the figure we’ll be taking a look at today!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her long twin tails are made from clear parts for a lovely transparent effect! The further down it goes, the more transparent it becomes!

The small details on the headset and hair accessories are also a perfect rendition of the original illustration!

She can hold the parasol!

A very cute pose if I do say so myself! It’s rather easy to place her into very nice poses, which is great for a Racing Queen. There is very little to get in the way of poses, so you’re free to move her around however you like!

A closed parasol is also included!

In the image above I’ve attached it to her open hand using some double-sided tape, but you can also put it in her other hand just like the open parasol.

She comes with the smiling face, and this winking face!

The winking face looks a little mischievous, which I think is adorable!!

Waving the checkered flag!

Definitely a great part to build the atmosphere of a race! <ost people think of the checkered flag as being white and black, but this one is based on GAN’s illustration which had a pink and white flag! I think the pink has a nice feminate feeling about it, which is great for a cute Racing Queen like Miku!

The winner’s champagne bottle!

The GT300 class races are about half-way through now and at present the Miku car is in 6th place and the Project mirai car is in 11th place! Let’s hope they can reach the top and swing the champagne bottle around just like this!

I was trying to make the image look as if MEIKO thought it was a waste of champagne, but it looks more like Miku is spraying it all over her now. xD It’s amazing how well alcohol seems to go with MEIKO! 😛

The posing is identical to the previously released 1/8th scale Miku figure, but those who go to FamilyMart often will feel quite close to home seeing her in this uniform! I wish Miku would really serve me next time I go to FamilyMart!!

The lines and logo all look just like the real thing! The shirt and tie on the inside also look great!

Her white skirt has such a fresh feeling!

The black top and white skirt contrast so nicely! It also has a nice summer-time feeling to it which suits Miku nicely! The normal Miku also normally has shiny futuristic boots, but Family Miku’s boots are matte coated instead – they look so smooth to the touch!

This is a Nendoroid of Miku wearing the same FamilyMart uniform! She also comes with a couple of optional parts to play with! The standard pose is designed to look like Miku is welcoming you into the store – isn’t she adorable!

Slightly more simple than the standard Nendoroids, but she still comes with a small set of extras to enjoy, including some bent arms, straight arms and folded arms for a couple of different poses!

The little mark on her sleeve was taken from the actual data provided to us from FamilyMart! Even the small details like that have made their way onto the Nendoroid!

Everyone loves the Family Chicken that comes from FamilyMart, so it only suits that Miku should have some to enjoy as well! You can pose her eating it herself like this, or instead pose her handing it over to you – whichever you’d prefer!
