Today I’m going to be taking a look at this product currently up for preorder from KADOKAWA…
Tohka Yatogami!★

A 1/7th scale figure of Tohka Yatogami based on an illustration from the Tsunako Art Book -Converves- released on the 25th February 2016! The figure captures her seated on a cat tower while enjoying her favorite kinako bread while wearing cat ears and sexy lingerie!

If you display her together with the similar 1/7th scale Kurumi Tokisaki figure released in March 2018 you can capture even more of the cat cafe illustration from the artbook!

The second figure based on an illustration from the Date A Live Tsunako Art Book -Conserves-!

Sexy lingerie and cute cat ears in a lovely innocent looking pose munching on some of her favorite kinako bread! A lovely scale figure of Tohka Yatogami!

She is posed seated upon a pink cat tower, just about to bite into the delicious looking bread!! ( ･ㅂ･)و ̑̑

The frilly lingerie is sculpted and painted to give it a very thin, soft looking appearance! The various creases in the fabric also create a lovely realistic look!

The figure mentioned in her release text that she looks great displayed with is this kitty figure of Kurumi, also with a cat tower!

Anyway, let’s get back to Tohka Yatogami!

As I mentioned earlier, she has cute cat ears… but I also want to point out that she also has a cute tail as well! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

▲ The way she is holding the bread with her right hand is also rather cat-like!

Plus she is also wearing a red collar! ♪

▲ The belt, golden latch and smooth skin make for a lovely contrast of textures!

Also take a closer look at the paintwork of her skin!

The colors of her skin feature various different shades, from a slightly more red areas to the much more pale areas. This not only brings out the lovely smooth look of her skin but also captures its warmth! (*´ェ`*)

▲ The ribbons tied on her ankles and the slight little bump of the bone on her foot! Such lovely detail!

Her lovely long hair tied up quite high has also been sculpted with lovely detail, and even features a slight gradient toward the tips! Even though her hair is very long it also has a very soft and airy feel to it!

Gwendolyn: Winged Maiden Warrior (Valkyrie) from the epic RPG released by Altus and Vanillaware “Odin Sphere Leifthrasir”!
Daughter of Demon Lord Odin, king of the great northern land Ragnanival, and princess in her own right, this figure depicts Gwendolyn as a valkyrie flying over the battlefield.
Based on an illustration featured as the cover for a foreign gaming publication, she glides effortlessly on elegant azure wings, with a powerful posture that has yet to suffer a single blow.
Careful consideration has been given to recreate the colors in the original illustration as closely as possible.
To suspend and support her soaring through the heavens, the stand was created in the image of a “psypher skill” seen in-game. Her feathers, stand, spear, and other portions feature a clear material, exquisitely capturing the light to exude the fairytale-like ambiance of the game.

The feathers that seem to have gently alighted on the stand as well those on her outstretched wings feature a clear material, giving a light and soft impression to this impressively sized figure.

Based of an illustration featured on the cover of a foreign gaming magazine, it captures both her dynamic pose as well as the delicate nuance and vibrance of the colors used.

There’s so much going on to admire here – the harsh metallic look of her armor, the translucent fabric of her arm covers, her smooth and silky skin… ヽ(*´∀｀)ノ

And none of the details on the front of the beautiful bustier style dress she’s wearing have been skimped.

▲Each and every pleat of the ruffle is completely unique… this is an amazing level of detail… !

Though she’s posed in a powerful stance, as if dealing a blow to an enemy, there’s still a dance-like grace to it.

Schwi (No Game No Life -Zero-)

The star of today’s blog is… !

And today we’ll be taking a look at the

1/8 scale figure Schwi!☆

From the anime movie “No Game No Life -Zero-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of the ex-machina girl, Schwi! The figure is based on the illustration from the film that featured Schwi with a part of her body destroyed, gazing out into the distance with a wistful look in her eyes.

The battered appearance of the huge weapon on her right arm and all the other mechanical details of her design have been intricately sculpted, with careful paintwork to recreate the original as faithfully as possible.

In contrast to the mechanical parts, her skin looks pale and soft with some burnt areas caused by the damage to her body – the figure melds the organic and mechanical parts of her design together with beautiful detail. Be sure to add her to your collection and enjoy the frank expression of the ex-machina that wanted to know what it meant to have a human heart.

I wished, to live together…

Highly skilled in combat and heavily armed, we proudly present this scale figure of the ex-machina girl Schwi.

Modeled after the memorable “No Game No Life -Zero” key visual, even portions not visible in the illustration have been crafted with scrupulous detail!

Including a certain ring on her left hand!

The unique color transitions in her hair have of course been carefully detailed, and a clear material has been used for the wings to give them a slight glimmer – with the same color blue you can find in her hair! ( ´>ω<`)

Her human-like flesh has a sexy pinkish hue, while the mechanical portions look painfully brutal… !

The contrast of the two creates a delight for the eyes! ((´д`●))三((●´д`))

A clear material has been painted with different colors on either side, to intentionally create a more subtle shimmering effect.

To properly express each and every burn wound and gauging cut, you can see a remnant of the heat generated when the blow was dealt… !

▲Especially on the right side – you can almost hear that sizzling crackle… !

The way she’s seated flat on the ground gives a sense of “calm,” while the way her hair billows as if dancing in the wind creates “movement.” (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

▲I think you get a better sense of that movement seeing her from all 360 degrees… !

Be sure to get a good look at her expression, too!  (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

At a glance, it seems as if she’s gazing skyward with abandon, but from the front it looks as if she’s staring at something straight ahead in determination… !

Even now I feel like she could mutter something in that cute voice from her haplessly parted lips… I’m hesitant to say I like it but… it has this mysterious innocence about it, together with steadfast resolve… but regardless, I can’t look away… (/ω＼)

If you add her to your collection, please take the time to carefully appreciate all of the details!

The base incorporates the colors seen in the illustration background, so it too is captured in the figure!

The surface of the base is quite rough, like the surface of a devastated planet.

Her thigh, damaged calf, and rugged terrain… The contrast of all the different textures is a thing of beauty ε=(｡・д・｡)

While the figure definitely invokes the emotion of the movie, it’s also a testament to beautiful craftsmanship and artisan paintwork – we certainly hope you’ll add it to your collection!

Juzumaru Tsunetsugu

His gentle, relaxed and yet powerful appearance has been captured in intricate detail, with his iconic long hair sculpted with great care to capture each and every strand as faithfully as possible, together with meticulous paintwork to preserve the unique gradient. Be sure to add him your tour collection!

We reviewed this figure on our live webcast last month, but let’s take another look here on the blog (∩・∀・)∩

The cape draped over his shoulders faithfully captures the elaborate pattern seen in game!

▲The pattern is drawn in white paint on top of a white material, for a crisp an elegant look that’s not too showy ♪

It also features the lotus motif seen on his sword as well as his gloves.

The look of various materials, such as the hilt/sheath, gloves, and prayer beads, have been created not only through the sculpture process, but also by the gloss or matte texture of the paint.

Let’s turn him around for a look at the back ε=(｡・д・｡)

The intricate way his hair is bound and complex way it’s layered add a lot of volume to the figure, but the meticulous way in which the color gradates is truly… amazing!

▲The bangs framing his face are lighter as well, capturing that near translucent aspect of the illustration.

The raging swell of the center portion that transitions from white to gray, and those layering chunks of hair deserve special attention! (´□｀｡)

The slight spaces (gaps) between those ribbons of hair allow for a sense of volume without any clumpiness, invoking a light and airy look.

And be sure to check out those prayer beads!

((´д`●))三((●´д`))

The prayer beads feature the same kind of color gradation as his hair, but if you take a close look you’ll see that each an every bead more or less has a unique color – talk about details!

And the way his tightly sealed lips are sculpted create a slightly different expression depending on the angle.  (っ’ω’)っ))


For example, this angle is slightly youthful and endearing… !

While this angle looks elegant and compassionate… !

And from this angle, he looks focused on sharpening his nerves, and a bit difficult to approach… !

With eyes closed as if in prayer, it’s difficult to know the inner workings of his mind, but when you add Juzumaru Tsunetsugu to your collection be sure to carefully examine him from all sides (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

One of my personal favorite details are the hands!!

I just really love the position of his fingers… (/ω＼)

Each finger is crafted with perfect amount of nuance, so you get the sense of deliberateness…  Do you know what I mean?  It’s as if they’re captured in mid-motion, frozen forever in a moment of time.

 

With his hair and costume tousled in the wind, you also get a sense of “movement” from the sculpture, but with the additional subtleties expressed in his fingertips there’s an added sense of realism to the figure!ヽ(*´∀｀)ノ

Mythra (Xenoblade Chronicles 2)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the 1/7th scale…
Mythra!★

From the Nintendo Switch game “Xenoblade Chronicles 2” comes a 1/7th scale figure of Mythra, the alternate form of the legendary blade Pyra! The highly detailed original design by character designer Masatsugu Saito has been faithfully converted into a figure to capture Mythra’s powerful yet beautiful appearance for fans to enjoy by their side! She is designed to be displayed together with the previously announced figure of Pyra – display them together and have their swords crossing for an epic joint pose!

A highly detailed figure of the other form of the legendary Blade!

From “Xenoblade Chronicles 2” comes a 1/7th scale figure of Rex’s partner – the legendary blade known as the “Holy Grail”, Mythra!

In her hand she holds her huge sword which is captured through the use of translucent parts allowing the light to shine through it in a beautiful way!

Her iconic outfit has also been very intricately detailed! 

The golden bronze parts of the outfit make use of a metallic pain, and the green areas that glowed in the series are captured with pearl paintwork for a similar appearance! (∩・∀・)∩

In addition, the entire outfit has a slightly glossy finish which contrasts against the bare skin showing on the figure so nicely!! ♪

Her hair also makes use of a pearl paint, which gives it a brilliant shine that changes depending on the angle you choose to look from! ☆

▲ The sculpt of her hair as it flows down is also stunning! (*´ｪ`*)

Even if we take a look at behind her hair… 

The details of her outfit are faithfully included on the design even in areas that are normally not visible on the figure! You really can enjoy Mythra from absolutely any angle you please! ヾ(o´∀｀o)ﾉ

Let’s take a closer look at her face!

She has such a cute and confident smile on her face that contrasts the difference between her and Pyra’s personalities perfectly.

Looking right into her eyes is definitely cute, but I also quite enjoyed this angle! It makes her look a little bit younger and more playful! ((´д`●))三((●´д`))

Today I’m going to be taking a look at this item that went up for preorder earlier today – the 1/8th scale…
Imanotsurugi!

From the popular browser and smartphone game “Touken Ranbu -ONLINE-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Imanotsurugi, based on his standard standing illustration from the game.

His sweet facial expression, iconic hairstyle blowing about in the wind, the brilliant red of his outfit and the gentle look of his stride are all captured in intricate detail to create a figure of Imanotsurugi that fans will be proud to add to their collection! Be sure to add him to your collection!

His long hair blowing about in the wind, his elegant appearance, the details of his beautiful armor and the strings tied all around his outfit have all been captured in amazing detail!

He has been sculpted in his standard illustration pose with one foot forward and the other back as if gently walking along! It’s a rather simple pose, but it has a lot of motion to it that really makes him feel right there beside you!

This product was actually first a product during Max Factory’s in-office contest by sculptor Nanako! It was so well received that we decided to transform it into a full release!

Anyway, let’s take a closer look! ♪

This close up look gives you a good look at his gentle smile and his lovely dark red eyes! He has such a cheerful look about him that really makes me feel all happy inside too!!

Now let’s take a look at the details of his outfit! ε=(｡・д・｡)

The short sword at his side has all the patterns and details included on the design, and all the various strings that decorate his outfit are also faithfully included!

The creases on his hakama are definitely visible, but are fairly moderate in order to capture the slightly harder material! You really get a good feel for the different textures of his outfit due to the careful work that has been put into the sculpt!

▲  Even the straps of his sandals are lovely and detailed!

The front part of his hair also makes use of a very slightly translucent material in order to capture that see-though look from the original illustration!

In order to keep the figure looking good from any angle, it’s not quite as transparent as it was on the original illustration, but it definitely is noticeable! I also love peeking at his other eye through this little gap in his hair!

Another area that I love is his cute little hands!

You can see he is putting force into stretching out each of those little fingers!

▲ The slightly squishy curve from this angle looks great! (・∀・)

Akari Kawamoto (March Comes in Like a Lion)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at a figure that should have been announced last month; the 1/7th scale…
Akari Kawamoto!

From the popular anime “March Comes in Like a Lion” comes a figure of the eldest of the three sisters that live in Sangatsu town, Akari Kawamoto! The figure is based on an original illustration by character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama (SHAFT), and has been carefully supervised by the original author of the series, Chica Umino!

The cable knitting of her sweater has been captured with 3D sculptwork for an amazingly realistic appearance. The sculpt and paintwork of the figure has been carefully tuned to capture the atmosphere of the series as faithfully as possible, with Akari posed as if gently chatting with Rei Kiriyama on the way home from shopping. The dress with flowery patterns for a cute retro appearance has been beautifully captured on the figure, and it also has a swaying movement to give the figure a more dynamic appearance as if gently blowing in the wind! ♪

Her apple print bag has also been captured in lovely detail! You can even see there are items inside by the way the sides bulge out slightly!

I also love the way her hand has been sculpted! It’s not the most showy looking hand ever, but it has a soft and gentle look to it that really suits her character perfectly!

The overall pose has her leaning over slighting while looking down! You will have to imagine who she is looking down at!! (*´꒳`*)

Another thing that is absolutely amazing to look at on the figure is the amount of detail on her sweater!!

The intricate pattern has been captured with perfect attention to detail thanks to the use of 3D sculpting techniques!

The photos don’t do it justice! It looks so amazing!!

The layered sticking around her shoulders, the way the fabric twists to fit her body and posture… it’s really hard to believe that this is made from hard PVC and is not as soft as it looks! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

The details of the stitching is one thing, but the slack and creases added to that make it simply outstanding! Be sure to slide your finger along the little ups and downs of the stitching once she joins your collection!

The figure is based on this original illustration which was done by the character design for the “March Comes in Like a Lion” character designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama! It was illustrated especially for the figure! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”

In addition to that, every stage of the sculpting and paintwork of the figure was carefully supervised by the original author of the series, Chica Umino!

Avenger/Jeanne d’Arc (Alter): Dress Ver. (Fate/Grand Order)

We’re already at the end of March! We have new graduates joining the GSC ranks from next week!!

But anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Avenger/Jeanne d’Arc (Alter): Dress Ver.!

From the popular smartphone game “Fate/Grand Order” comes a scale figure of the Avenger class servant, Jeanne d’Arc (Alter)! The figure is based on the illustration of her in a dress seen during the Subspecies Singularity I: Isolated Demonic Realm: Shinjuku storyline during FGO Project 1.5: Epic of Remnant. The impressive volume of her long flowing hair and the details and texture of her corsage have all been captured as faithfully as possible!

The dress itself makes use of pearl and metallic paints to recreate a light, silken appearance. Even the details of her bare skin visible through the gaps in her hair have been carefully detailed, giving her a much softer demeanor compared to her normal armored appearance. Be sure to add her to your collection and dance by her side as her Master!

A stunning figure of Jeanne d’Arc (Alter) dressed in the purple dress that featured in the FGO Project 1.5 Subspecies Singularity I: Isolated Demonic Realm: Shinjuku story arc! ★

The incredible volume of her hair has been captured as faithfully as possible, and her dress features a lovely blend of pearl and metallic paintwork! ε-(o´ω｀o)

The various parts of the figure all come together for amazing impact, but looking at the smaller details of the twirling dress or hair accessory makes you realize just how detailed the figure really is!(‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

I love her confident yet sultry expression!!

Her tight dress has lots of gaps making for a rather sexy design that really shows off her beautiful curves!

▲ The shoulder blades and spine are clearly visible on her mostly bare back!

The dress has a very seductive look to it, with the area around her belly button sculpted with multiple creases allowing you to easily make out the shape of her body on the other side of the fabric!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at these two items from REVOLVE…

Kashu Kiyomitsu: Uchiban ver. &
Yamatonokami Yasusada: Uchiban ver.!

The swords used by the Shisengumi’s Okita Souji, Kashu Kiyomitsu and Yamatonokami Yasusada both wearing their Uchiban outfits!

The figures are both based on the teaser image that was released for season one of the Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- anime series, and captures the two swords in lovely detail! Let’s take a closer look at each of them! ((´д`●))三((●´д`))

Kashu Kiyomitsu: Uchiban ver.!

From the anime series “Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru-” come a scale figure of the sword used by the Shisengumi’s Okita Souji, Kashu Kiyomitsu dressed in his uchiban outfit! The design captures Kashu’s cool and composed strength while also bringing out the everyday life feeling from the Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- series!

His charming facial expression, silky black hair and flexible fingers have all been sculpted with careful detail creating a figure filled with highlights for fans to enjoy by their side. Be sure to add the charming Kashu to your collection!

Kashu’s confident look has been sculpted all the way to his intricate little fingertips, and the figure also captures his charming looks. The details of his outfit and hair are also not to be missed!

The sculpt of his body is one thing, but the details put into the “weight” of the clothes and the various creases caused by the ties and angle of his body have also been captured beautifully.

Yamatonokami Yasusada: Uchiban ver.!

From the anime series “Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru-” come a scale figure of the sword used by the Shisengumi’s Okita Souji, Yamatonokami Yasusada dressed in his uchiban outfit! The design captures Yamatonokami’s design as faithfully as possible while also bringing out the everyday life feeling from the Touken Ranbu -Hanamaru- series!His refreshing facial expression with his sash held in his mouth, his supple looking arms and other details have all been sculpted with careful detail creating a figure filled with highlights for fans to enjoy by their side. Be sure to add the gentle Yamatonokami to your collection.

Yamatonokami Yasusada’s calm and gentle appearance is so relaxing to have by your side!! The everyday look of him tying up the sash creates such a beautiful picture!! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

Just like Kashu, the details of the creases all over his outfit have been captured with amazingly intricate detail! ★

The loose feel of the sash as it hangs from his mouth, the overall trustworthy look of his character and those masculine looking hands have all been included in such lovely detail!

His ponytail has also been captured perfectly!

Chika Takami: Blu-ray Jacket Ver. (LoveLive!Sunshine!!)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the first “With Fans!” product…
Chika Takami: Blu-ray Jacket Ver.!

The first in the “With Fans!” series of figures is LoveLive!Sunshine!!’s Aquors member Chika Takami! She has been sculpted in 1/7th scale based on the illustration that was used as a jacket illustration for the Blu-ray release of the series! She has a lovely cheerful smile on her face as she dashes along a beach.

The figure captures all the details of the original illustration as faithfully as possible, but also allows you to see all the angles that were never visible on the illustration! Be sure to enjoy the intricately detailed figure in your collection and look forward to more releases from WithFans! coming soon!

The first in a series of figures of the Aqours members based on the respective Blu-ray jacket illustrations!

The dynamic posing of the jacket illustration certainly was not one of the easiest poses to convert into figure form, but Chika has been captured in lovely detail from all sorts of different angles! ♪

The dazzling smile on her face as she dashes along the beach captures Chika’s cheerful and energetic personality so nicely!

Just looking at her makes me crack a smile as well!

Although you can’t see it from the front angle, her school bag is also included in amazing detail and even features the cute strap! ♥

Her Summer uniform has been sculpted with care to preserve the fabric-like appearance with creases that capture the motion of her body. Her soft, healthy looking skin has also been captured in lovely detail!

▲ I personally love the curve of  her arm between her elbow and wrist!

Let’s take a little step back and take a look at what exactly “With Fans!” is!

“With Fans!” is a new series of products designed to create the goods that fans desire!

We are bringing together Bandai Visual’s series and the artisans at Good Smile Company to make the dreams of fans all over the world come true!

In other words, it’s a new product label brought to you by Bandai Visual and Good Smile Company, and this is the first of many products! The second product has in fact already been revealed and was even on display at a fan meeting last weekend: You Watanabe: Blu-ray Jacket Ver. (∩・∀・)∩

But anyway, lets get back to Chika Takami: Blu-ray Ver.! ♪

The figure also has a lovely base that captures the atmosphere of the beach from the Blu-ray cover, with a splash in the water as she jumps up out of the water!!

Also take note of the trademark ribbon and braid of her hair on one side and the four-lead clover hairpin on the other side, all sculpted and painted with great care to capture the most iconic parts of her character!

From this angle you can also see the movement that is captured by the sculpt of the headphone cable as well as the red scarf part of her uniform!

The motion also means that her shirt is blowing about giving a lovely peek at her belly button and also her back! (・∀・)ｲｲ!!

It’s a figure that captures all of Chika-chan’s charm for fans to enjoy from any angle they please! ♥
