While I was looking through all the pictures on my camera I came across this one, but I’m sure I never took it!

Anyway, in this blurry photo you can see the WEB team and the advertising team. GSC’s advertising department doesn’t have any men in it – it’s filled with girls!

Today we’ll be taking a look at a figure from last week’s WonHobby News Watch:

Nendoroid Saber : Zero Ver.!

From the popular anime series ‘Fate/Zero’ comes a Nendoroid of Saber wearing the black suit she is well known for in this series. She even comes with a Nendoroid-sized version of the motorbike she used while fighting Rider, the Saber Motored Cuirassier!

You’d think that with such an amazing extra she wouldn’t come with much else, but she comes with lots of other extras too!!

Zero Saber is wearing a simple black suit, so she needs some extras to spice her up a bit! We’ll take a look at these other extras a little later!

This is how she looks from the back!

This version of Saber has a lovely ponytail that suits her so nicely in the suit! The prototype also features a ball joint in the ponytail which allows you to move her hair in any direction you like for some dynamic poses!

The detail on the bike is incredible!

It’s absolutely tiny, but even so the tires and engine are still very detailed! The painting on the cowl is the perfect silver color. Normally mechanical things done at this size have a strange feeling to them, but Saber’s bike has come out wonderfully!

Saber can even ride on the bike!

Nendoroids of course have a really big body and a much smaller body, so it was very difficult to get the balance of the bike right for a Nendoroid! But through a bit of trial and error I think that balance has come out just fine!

Vrooom!!

I can just hear the engine when I look at her riding like this! At first it might look quite hard to pose her on the bike, but she actually fits on very neatly – the legs fit on perfectly. With the arm stand holding her in place and her hands on the handle bars she is very stable as well!

I personally love the extra fringe and suit parts which give a much more dynamic feeling to poses!! They are so much fun to play with!!

She also has a serious expression!

Saber is well known for remaining cool under pressure and this expression captures that perfectly! It looks just the expression she glared down Caster with!

This is a special Saber made to commemorate TYPE-MOON’s 10th anniversary:
Nendoroid Saber : 10th ANNIVERSARY Edition!

It’s the same as the previously released Nendoroid Saber: Super Movable Edition, however it features a metallic effect on her armor which makes it look much shinier! Just as before she comes with a load of optional parts including a smiling face, angry face and a tantrum face as expressions and three different sword options – Excalibur, Caliburn and Invisible Air!

As mentioned on WonHobby News Watch, the metallic effect is rather difficult to apply!

It might be difficult, but it is certainly worth it in the end – just look at how shiny her gauntlets are!! Plus it is not only her armor, the swords have also been given the metallic treatment! This special version of Saber will be on sale at this year’s TYPE-MOON Fes and will also be available at the GOOD SMILE ONLINE SHOP.

ClariS’ first official book, ‘Collection’ has been announced!
The official book will be going on sale from the 14th September 2012! ClariS debuted in 2012 as the ‘Middle School Idol Unit’, and since April have since become the ‘High School Idol Unit’ – from their first single, ‘irony’ to their first album ‘BIRTHDAY’ they have now released a total of 20 songs!
　
Plus, ‘Nendoroid Petite: ClariS Set – Naisho no Hanashi Ver. is also included with the book!

This is the third set of ClariS Nendoroids, following on from the ‘irony Ver.’ and ‘Connect Ver.’, and just like the previous versions it comes with a stand that allows you to display them on top of the ‘Naisho no Hanashi’ CD. If you’re a fan of the girls then don’t miss out!

Lots of products and prototypes to check…!

There is one prototype that I can’t wait to show everyone, it has come out so cute! I’ll be able to show everyone soon!!

Today it’s time for a much-needed prototype review!

Good Smile is moving offices on the 29th June, but I’ll be getting through as many reviews before then as possible! I’ve already contacted the planning team to ask to keep the prototypes until the move!

Nendoroid Petite : 

THE IDOLM@STER2 Stage 02!

From the popular idol simulation game, THE IDOL@STER2 comes another set of cute figures to join the first set! This time along the set includes Miki Hoshii, Iori Minase, Yukiho Hagiwara, Azusa Miura, Ami Futami and Hibiki Ganaha all in their stage outfits!

A total of 7 to collect including one secret character!

Each single figure will cost 500JPY, but just like the first set there will also be a larger box containing 8 figures.

The outfits are the same as Stage 01 -the outfit is called ‘Pink Diamond’ in the game! Miki is showing off her lovely body and hips!

The slightly older idols of IDOLM@STER 2! I personally think Azusa looks much better with her hair like this! It’s so cute!

Ami’s twin sister was in Stage 01, so now you can display the two of them together! The diamonds along Hibiki’s pants are less than a millimeter in size – as always the Nendoroid Petites are going to cause a lot of trouble for the manufacturing team! 😛

Wow! They came out wonderfully – even the small small gold areas on the outfits have been painted perfectly! Wonderful!

Of course you can tell which ones are the prototypes because they all have larger bases at the moment. But seeing all the idols together like this is really a lovely sight!

“Berserk : Golden Age Arc II -The Battle for Doldrey” is in cinemas from the 23rd June!

In other words it starts tomorrow! Akiyama-san managed to use his charms to get hold of one of the gorgeous pamphlets that will be on sale at cinemas early – you can see Yukipo is very interested in it! It has a beautiful cover with a golden foil logo! I think displaying this beside the figmas would look wonderful!

The production team has been sneaking me info like this to make sure I don’t miss anything for the blog. Generally speaking once the prototypes have been sent to China they don’t come back, so I have to get the photos before they make their journey.

Nendoroid Petite: Fate/hollow ataraxia!

We all know about the popular Fate/Zero anime that will be airing again this season, but these characters are from the Fate/stay Night fan disc, Fate/hollow ataraxia!

The set includes Saber, Rin Tohsaka, Sakura Matou and Rider all wearing maid outfits, along with figures of Caren, Taiga Fujimura, Bazett, Leysritt, Stheno and more!

There are a total of 12 figures including one secret character!  (`･ω･´)ゞ

Nendo Petites may be small, but that by no means they are not detailed and balanced just as well as other figures! There are even some characters that have never been figures before in this set!

Saber and Rin in maid outfits!

In Fate/hollow ataraxia they appear like this for a fairly short amount of time, but even that short amount of time was enough to get figure versions of them wearing these outfits!

They are posed in a cute Nendoroid-sized versions of the poses they took in the game – Rin’s is just so adorable!

Sakura and Rider in maid outfits!

I know we’ve kept Sakura fans waiting for a long time, but we finally have Sakura joining the set in a very cute pose and outfit! I think her outfit is my favorite of all of them – the headband is super detailed!

Illya and Taiga from the minigame!

The adorable Illya in bloomers!! I think there were lots of fans who wanted these two to join the Fate/stay night series. They are both posed with their one hand in the air in a lovely energetic pose!

Bazett & Dark Saber!

Bazett has a very sexy body-line, and the detail on her suit is incredible! Dark Saber beside her is just as amazing, holding the Dark Excalibur in her right hand!

Leysritt & Caren Ortensia!

Of all the figures in the line-up, I think these two bring the most to the set!

Leysritt’s axe has an incredibly detailed pattern on it which looks fantastic – even the connecting joints have been carefully sculpted along the axe!

Beside her is Caren with her hat removed – you can see it attached in the group photo above!! Also… she has a very sexy reverse side… you’ll get a little look at it in the next picture if you look carefully! 😛

A secret character and Stheno!

I believe this is the very first time Steno has even joined the figure world! (Definitely the first for Good Smile, at least) That stubborn expression staring ahead is so cute!!

Plus there is a secret character included with the set… you’ll have to wait and see who it is!

You can also switch around the outfits!

Rin always has that energetic look about her, so I thought the bloomers would suit her well – what do you think?  The prototypes and the actual products also have slightly different sizes for the joints, so I had to be super careful while playing around like this… I don’t think they would be very pleased with me if I broke the prototypes just before sending them out to China. 😛

Otanaka expressed his love for Idolmaster during the WonFes Broadcast!

For those who didn’t watch, he introduced the Nendoroid Petite Idolmaster figures on the live broadcast!

Thanks to the really compelling show he put on, it was not hard to crown him MVP of the live broadcast! I can just remember him shouting, ‘Just trust me!!’ – it was really convincing. 😛

It’s actually Mami! Unfortunately her head parts were being used when I was taking pictures, so I’m patiently waiting for them to finish up with them. I hope it’s soon!

I’m sure that competent producers will be happy to purchase a whole box of them without any complaints!

This set will be the first set of Nendoroid Petites to come in a box with eight figures!

I’m sure many of you know, but all the previous boxes of Nendoroid Petites always contained twelve figures, but the box for these will only include eight figures – making it cheaper as well!

Each figure is 500JPY, and one box will 4000JPY!

Even as small Nendoroid Petites, you can really tell the idols have grown up a little bit! Those who have played the game will know that the outfit used on these figures is the ‘Pink Diamond’ outfit!

Yayoi Takatsuki & Takane Shijou!

Compared to the previous Idolmaster Petite Nendoroids, the outfits have really reached a whole new level of detail! The gold paint used on parts of each outfit is really beautiful! (although it’s also a nightmare for the production team!)

Mami’s prototype is now ready! ━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━!!!!
She really looks very confident in that pose! I love it! In contrast, Chihaya is in a much more gracious pose, which looks just as good! You can pose them on your desk for your very own personal live performance!

Time to play around a bit!

Mixing around some of the parts with the Nendoroid Petite Madoka Magica which are now on sale! Just by exchanging the head parts, you can create a very interesting scene like this one!

The sizes look a little bit off, but that’s just the difference between a prototype and the final figure. The final versions always come out a little smaller than the original prototypes they are based on.

Nendoroid Petite: Racing Miku 2011 Ver.

GSR’s Yama-chan, who was on Friday’s live broadcast!

Although his real name is actually Tsukamoto. 😛 The reason he ended up being called Yama-chan is that apparently because he looked very similar to another person named Yama-chan, so the name ended up sticking for him as well. Apparently he also has some royal blood running though his veins… 😛

But anyway! Today we’ll be looking at this prototype figure!

Nendoroid Petite: Racing Miku 2011 Ver.!

From the Miku GT Project and in commemoration of the 2011 championship victory, Miku, Rin and Luka are all being released as Nendoroid Petite figures in a set of three to stand in cute poses on the winner’s podium!

The winner’s podium is also included! (`･ω･´)ゞ

Oooh! Nice work!! Although I do ponder why the tires of the car have been removed! 😛 Also great work to the sculptor who managed to create such lovely figures from Yama-chan’s illustration!

This is how they look from the back!

As usual, I’m fairly certain the Nendo Petite series is going to bring tears to those in the production team! Look at the intricate details!! Just look at the tiny details on the hem of the skirt… I made a quick measurement of it and all three lines came to about 1mm.

The podium here currently uses brass wires to secure the Nendos in place, but the final product will make use of the usual Nendo Petite rods that hold them up.

A pull-back Miku GT Car is also included!

A pull-back car is one of those cars you pull backwards so that it can drive forward! The actual car on the final version will be a completely white car – but there will be decals included for you to create your own Miku GT car!

The normal stands are also included!

You can choose if you want to use the podium or the normal stands. That also means you can put other Nendo Petites on the podium if you like!

Miku also comes with optional parts!!

A different expression as well as different arm parts! The expression is a much more serious looking one, and the arm part stretches her arm out to recreate the key visual pose! The more serious looking Miku is still so cute though!!

They are so tiny, but still so intricate!

Rin’s trophy and Luka’s champagne both make use of lovely clear parts! Even as tiny Nendo Petites the effort has still gone in to make them perfect! The trophy Rin is holding is the series championship trophy – the exact same design as the real one, but this one measures just 2.5cm! 😛

Tokyo Game Show 2011 @ The Makuhari Messe!

There have been so many events at the Makuhari Messe recently, that I’ve finally managed to memorize the route from the station to the event hall I’ll never get lost again now! But that doesn’t help the fact that it’s so unbearably hot!! As you can see, I went to the once-a-year Tokyo Game Show event this year on a hot and sunny Monday!

Arrival at the Sega booth!

“H-huh? There aren’t many people here…?”

Indeed – but that’s because this is still before the event had actually started! The staff is just checking everything is ready for the crowds! I’m actually here to bring a special Nendoroid Petite to the Sega stage!

Project DIVA extend!

Following on the from the hit PSP game ‘Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- 2nd’ comes extend which adds more to the system as well as adds new songs and modules! I’ve been playing the original for quite some time!! （(Although I’m still yet to finish the last level on extreme mode…)

Project mirai!

Today my focus is on this title!

Sega have made a 3DS game using the Vocaloid Nendoroids!! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ *゜・。+ *゜・

This is… this is incredible! I’ve been watching the Nendoroids ever since #00, and to think I’ll be able to see them dancing and singing inside a game is just incredible!

Normally I’m a bit reclusive, but I decided to be courageous and ask the staff! Even though they were so busy with preparations they were happy to let me try it out! Yay!

This is actually the first time I’ve used a 3DS too!
Just seeing Miku on the screen was incredible… but then when I actually played…

The game is really fun! And the Miku-san dancing in the back is so adorable!

The game is also a music game similar to DIVA, but it does have it’s differences and is fun in a whole new way! Plus it has Nendoroid Miku-san dancing in the background!! It’s really hard to decide whether I should concentrate on the game or rather on the Miku dancing!! 😛

This is 3DS Miku-san!

It’s a pity I can’t get the 3D effect to work over the camera, but she is of course in full 3D in the game! You can always simply turn it off through if the 3D effects make you uncomfortable.

All the characters modelling has gone though Good Smile to get the real Nendoroid designs into the game!

The main people at GSC working on it were myself and Gakkun from the production team! They really look like the real Nendoroids!

Sega really showed what they are capable of when it comes to 3D modelling! I’m really impressed! The Nendoroid cuteness really comes through perfectly!

The crowds were quite exited about the upcoming Vita! I really wanted to try it myself, but the queues were just too long for me to wait in… what a pity!

I just didn’t have the HP and MP to wade through those waves of people… just by going to the Kurohyo booth I got a status ailment that prevented me from going any further. 😛

Apparently this years Tokyo Game Show reached the most visitors ever! The game industry just seems to be getting stronger by the day!

Normally I can grab figures before they head off to China, but sometimes the timing just doesn’t work out… luckily I got them just in time this time around!

From the movie ‘Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st’ comes a set of two Nendoroid petites – one of Nanoha Takamachi and the other of Fate Testarossa, both posed in a cute scene from the sunny seaside!

Summer may be coming to an end now… but let me just say one thing…
Swimsuits are great in any season!!

This is how the look from the back!

Nanoha and Fate are holding hands along the beach! The points where their hair comes out are all fitted with joints so you can pose the hair around in any position you like!

A floating tube is included as an extra!

You can either just leave it by their side as part of the base, or you you have one of them wear it like this! It has a shiny paint job that really makes it look like a real miniature tube!

You have to have a beach ball at the beach!

The ball is meant to just sit on the base so it wouldn’t quite stay in her hand – but I just used some double-sided tape to keep it in place! The prototype figures of both Fate and Nanoha are both poseable at the thighs as well! Assuming that goes through to the final product, you’ll be able to make lovely poses like this one!

They can try on each others swimsuits!

One of the great things about Nendoroid Petites is the ability to switch around heads with other Nendoroid Petites! It doesn’t really matter what these two wear though, they’ll always be adorable!

The colors seems to match her so perfectly that I just had to try! You can try it out with your favorite Petite Nendo characters as well!

ClariS is an idol unit consisting of two middle school girls – Clara and Alice! A little while back the anime music magazine ‘Risuani!’ included a CD of some of ClariS’ music, and soon after they had a major debut into the idol world!

This is how they look from the back!

We’ve never been able to see the back of their adorable little avatars – this is the wonderful part about figures! Clara’s wavy hair and Alice’s long straight hair both look adorable in Nendoroid form!

Currently, no real photos of ClariS have been revealed!

The two girls are always represented by famous illustrator’s renditions of them…  Hiro Kanzaki, Ume Aoki and Meru Kishida have all illustrated the ClariS duo, but we’ve never seen what they really look like!

Clara focuses more on the pink!

She has her one hand to her  hip in a very adorable looking pose!! Her shoulders do of course have joints in them,  so you can lift her hands up a bit if you like.

While Alice focuses more on the blue!

As you can see, her hat and legs are posed to mirror Clara’s figure! The paint work on them is also incredibly detailed – I think the production team are going to have quite a job getting them mass produced! 😛 The little ribbons on their gloves are so tiny, yet so detailed – and the stripes on the skirts look so nice!

I’ve been wanting to review these for absolutely ages now, so I’m going to cover each figure one by one – there are a few more images than usual, so be prepared! 😛

Let’s start with the Puella Magi versions!

For those who don’t know, you can either buy single Nendoroid Petites for 500JPY, or you can buy a box set of twelve instead!

This Puella Magi Madoka Magica set comes with 10 figures as well as one secret figure to collect!
Five of those are the figures you see here – all in their Puella Magi outfits.

As always, I’m absolutely amazed at how detailed the work is on such tiny figures…

Right, let’s take a quick look at each of them!

Madoka Kaname! (Puella Magi)

Madoka in her adorable magical girl outfit featuring that lovely frilly skirt! Tiny parts like the ribbons on her dress, complicated shoes and lines on her skirt must have been very difficult to sculpt so tiny! QB is also super tiny and hanging off her arm – also super cute! ^^

Sayaka Miki! (Puella Magi)

There are actually a lot of Goodsmile staff members that really love Sayaka!! I believe that this Nendo Petite of her is the first figure that has featured her in her Puella Magi outfit. I personally really like the trailing cape behind her as well as the pose! It’s such a pleasure to look at!

Homura Akemi! (Puella Magi)

Homuhomu taking a sidelong glance as she looks as stunning as ever! Of course the Soul Gem on her left hand is there as well! (It has a diameter of about 1.5mm!)

Mami Tomoe! (Puella Magi)

Her outfit and twirled hair all looks great in Nendo Petite form! It’s really incredible how well her hair accessory came out as well – it’s so tiny, but it looks identical to the one from the anime! Her skirt is also really nicely done – I kept having to retake photos as each time I did the new picture looked even better!

And by the way, whilst I’m sure Madoka fans will have noticed already…

Kyouko Sakura!(Puella Magi)

We would never leave her out of the line-up! It also seems like she is the one and only that comes holding a weapon! Her ponytail is fitted with a joint so you can move it left and right as well.

Moving on, the girls in their uniforms!

Well, except for Kyouko, seen she doesn’t wear a uniform – but she comes in her casual clothes! These five combined with the five above make up the ten figures in the set – then there is still one secret extra which you’ll have to find yourself!  (To be honest, I’ve never even seen it! :P) A lot of work has been put into these five as well though – even the hair on them has been changed so they are not the same as the Puella Magi versions of the girls!

Madoka Kaname! (School Uniform)

Once again QB is included with Madoka – this time being held by her with both arms – he is so cute!! You don’t see Madoka smiling when wearing her school uniform all that often, but smiles always look good on girls, don’t they? ^^

Sayaka Miki! (School Uniform)

Plus as an added bonus, this version of Sayaka comes with a little sitting version of QB!  You have to remember that all these images are making them look much bigger than they really are – when you see just how tiny this QB is you’ll be amazed! 😛

Homura Akemi! (School Uniform)

Homuhomu with her braided hair and red-framed glasses! I absolutely love this pose with her hand near her mouth and an embarrassed smile on her face! I hope all Homuhomu fans will be able to get their hands on the Puella Magi version as well as this version and display them together!

Mami Tomoe! (School Uniform)

A very fitting expression and pose for the mature Mami-san! It’s strange how charming she looks even as a Nendo Petite. I’m not sure why, but she also has a very unique feeling to her with this pose, it feels very fresh to look at!

Kyouko Sakura! (Casual Clothes)

Kyouko comes in her hotpants and jacket instead of a school uniform like the others! The little peek at her belly button and even the delicious looking bar of something in her hands are all shrunk down to Nendo Petite size! Plus that expression is so ideal for Kyouko that it’s almost scary… in a great way of course!!
