Today I’m going to be taking a look at… Ruler/Jeanne d’Arc!★
From the popular smartphone game “Fate/Grand Order” comes a 1/7th scale figure of the Ruler servant, Jeanne d’Arc! She is posed dashing forward in a courageous pose with her massive flag in hand ready to lead her team to victory, while also capturing her pure and noble appearance as a saint. The figure has been intricately sculpted to capture the illustration of Jeanne as faithfully as possible in figure form!

The Ruler servant who led a victory in the hundred year war, “Jeanne d’Arc” has been transformed into a magnificent 1/7th scale figure!
In her hands she holds her Noble Phantasm, “Luminosité Eternelle” in hand with a confident look as she charges forward into battle! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟヽ 三 ﾉﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ
If you look at her from the side, it feels a bit like you are running into battle beside her!
The entire figure has a really dynamic look to it, including the smaller details such as her sleeves and the accessories on her head armor!
Personally I really love the little peek you get at her bare skin when you look up the sleeves!
Let’s take a closer look at her facial expression! The open mouth shouting out in battle together with the sharp eyes make her look ready for combat!

While her upper body is mostly covered up, down by her skirt she is showing off a lot more skin as her skirt twirls around her…
In fact she is quite unarmored from the waist down! (Not that that’s a bad thing!)

From the popular anime series “YURI!!! on ICE” comes a Nendoroid of the “Russian Fairy”, Yuri Plisetsky wearing a casual outfit! He comes with two face plates including a standard sullen expression as well as the smiling face when he gave Yuri his Katsudon Pirozhki.
Optional parts include his smartphone as well as his beloved cat Potya, he also comes with an alternate lower body part to display him with his leg up in the air in a dropkick pose in order to capture the more delinquent side of his personality! The hood part unfortunately can’t be removed, but instead that means that from the back the cute round form of the hood has been faithfully preserved! ♪

I want to change my work desk into a kotatsu! The cold weather here in Japan has been continuing for quite awhile now – I hope everyone is keeping warm!
Today I’m going to be taking a look at… Nendoroid Snow Miku: Crane Priestess Ver.!☆
2018 marks the 9th anniversary of Snow Miku, and the 2018 design was once again selected by fans through online votes between a selection of outfits all submitted to piapro by fans! This year the theme was “Animals of Winter Hokkaido”, and the winning Snow Miku design was this version based on a red-crowned crane illustrated by Taichadon! The illustration has now been converted into this adorable Nendoroid!
The hood can be attached and removed for a different look, and she comes with three different face plates including a standard expression, a wistful smiling face as well as a prayer face with closed eyes and a touch of lipstick. Optional parts include a kagura bell and folding fan to pose her performing traditional dances! A cypress stand to place the tools on as well as kneeling parts are also included to display her in prayer, and a crane made from ice is also included for her to hold in her hands.
In addition, a large base featuring a paved road and torii archway is also included to bring out the temple atmosphere, and she comes with a broom to display her cleaning the temple grounds! The snow on the base can even be removed for even more display opportunities! Enjoy the relaxed Snow Miku priestess in all sorts of adorable Nendoroid poses!

A clear box covered in snowflakes with a special wrapping in the centre!! The red and white design with the decorative cord make for a very elegant package!

Snow Miku is a character designed to enliven the Winter of Hokkaido. She was originally created due to a snow sculpture of Hatsune Miku made at the 2010 Sapporo Snow Festival, and has been a part of the ‘SNOW MIKU’ festival in Hokkaido every year since. The 2018 theme for Snow Miku is ‘Animals of the Winter Hokkaido’.

The design this time around was based on this illustration by Taichadon! The illustration also features on the back of the packaging! ε-(o´ω｀o)
It’s quite a different style of packaging to standard Nendoroids! ☆
Remove the center label to reveal Miku covered in snowflakes!
As you can see there are all sorts of optional parts! The blister pack comes with two different layers in order to fit them all in! ♥

As you may or may not have noticed, she also comes with a rather special round base that allows her to easily be displayed on this paved area! ☆
Using this base you can pose with in all sorts of poses without ruining the atmosphere with a full-sized Nendoroid base!
As with most Miku’s you can balance the Nendoroid on her hair, but I would recommend you make use of the base both to keep your figure safe as well as have a more dynamic and stable pose!(∩・∀・)∩
The sleeves of her outfit are based on the appearance of a red-crowned crane, the Hokkaido animal that this design was based around! ☆
As usual, Rabbit Yukine is also included to be posed together with her!

He also comes with an alternate sitting body for different poses! Miku herself also comes with many more other parts that bring out the “priestess” side of her design, including a cypress stand, kagura bell and folding fan! Obviously it’s not really made from ice, but makes use of a translucent material to capture that icy appearance! Even though it is even smaller than Rabbit Yukine, the attention to detail is lovely! ♪
You can even pose Snow Miku holding the crane like this! Simply find the pose that you think suits her the best!!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at this item from Phat! Company: Jibril: Great War Ver.!★
From the anime movie “No Game No Life Zero” comes an alternate version of the 1/7th scale figure of the youngest of the Flügel, Jibril! This “Grand War Ver.” features all new parts including a new facial expression and a scythe which bring out the more ruthless side of Jibril from the past.
A miniature figure of Jibril’s self-proclaimed older sister Azriel is also included to display together with her! The various parts of the figure can also be exchanged with the previously released /7th scale figure of Jibril, allowing for even more possible display options!

An alternate scale figure of the most powerful of the Flügel, Jibril!
This figure is similar to the previously released 1/7th scale figure Jibril, but captures the more ruthless side of her from the past with all an all new expression and parts! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”
In addition the the more obvious changes, the overall color scheme has also been altered to bring out her darker side for this version of the figure, which is based more on her appearance from the recent film instead of the more gentle appearance of the anime series. The large scythe and dark wings are both new additions to this version and both feature semi-translucent edges that let the light through for a stunning appearance!

From the anime series ‘KONO SUBARASHII SEKAI NI SYUKUFUKU WO! 2’ comes a Nendoroid of the wizard with delusions of grandeur and an affinity to the Explosion spell – Megumin! This time around she is wearing the school uniform that featured in the flashback scene from episode two of the anime series!
She comes with three face plates including a winking expression, the confident expression she had when her younger sister complimented her as well as a desperate chewing expression. Today I’m going to be taking a look at this figure from Phat! Company… Lancer/Kiyohime!
From the popular smartphone game “Fate/Grand Order” comes a scale figure of the Lancer servant, Kiyohime! The figure is based on her Stage One illustration which features a unique outfit which blends a swimsuit and kimono together.
In her hand she holds her impressive lance, and all the details of the lance, swimsuit and yukata have been carefully sculpted to capture her design in figure form as faithfully as possible for fans to enjoy by their side. Even in a swimsuit, Kiyohime is ready to stand by her master’s side with a smile – be sure to add her to your collection!

The Yandere Lancer servant that lives in love, Kiyohime, has been transformed into a 1/7th scale figure! ♪

My personal favorite three parts are as follows!
First up is this angle!
The lovely ups and downs of her shoulders and shoulder blades! Not to mention that heavy feeling of the kimono has it weighs itself down, and the little peek at her ear in-between in hair!!
From this angle you can also tell that the hair makes use of an ever so slightly translucent look! ♪
Next up we have… ((´д`●))三((●´д`))
These lovely knees!!
The sculpt is one thing, but the way the paint also adds a shadow to the knees really makes them come out looking so cute!! It also gives you a feel for just how tight her tights are! ♪
Last but not least we have her facial expression! (∩・∀・)∩
The slight blush on her cheeks as she looks at her master with a gentle smile! Plus there is something about her eyes that brings out that yandere-like feeling too!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at this 1/8th scale figure of… Warspite!
From the popular browser game “Kantai Collection -KanColle-” comes a 1/8th scale figure of the second Queen Elizabeth-class battleship, Warspite! The figure is based on the illustration of her that featured in the Kanmusu Catalogue Vol.3, which captures her in a majestic standing pose complete with her impressive ship parts.
The ship parts have been sculpted in intricate detail, and can be placed closer or further apart depending on how you wish to display her. The turrets are also all articulated allowing you to place them at the angle that you think suits best. A figure worthy of the name “The Grand Old Lady” – be sure to add her to your fleet!
“My name is Warspite, the second Queen Elizabeth-class battleship.”
The second Queen Elizabeth-class battleship, Warspite is joining the KanColle scale figure fleet!! Her lovely long blond hair and cute hairstyle have been captured carefully on both the front and back! ♪
Plus the impressive ship parts are huge!!
The turret batteries, planks on the deck, cranes and everything else have all been sculpted in such careful detail!! ε-(o´ω｀o)

The staff shaped like a mast that she holds has also been sculpted with amazing attention to detail!! ☆

The large turrets on the sides are also articulated allowing you to place them in any angle that suits your collection!

To contrast the cold metallic look of her ship parts, we can look to her lovely warm and soft looking skin!!

Her impressive bust and unique outfit look great from above, but looking from a lower angle is just as impressive!
▲ Each and everyone of her fingernails has been carefully painted! ♪
Even though Warspite has a rather compelling body, there is something about her design that makes her look so elegant at the same time! She has such a regal appearance!
The design of the figure is based on an illustration from the Kanmusu Catalogue Vol.3 which really did feature her in a very majestic pose!
Here is one of my favorite details on the figure!! ☆
The creases in her socks just under the knees!! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ
There is something about this crease that really makes it feel like these socks are being “worn”. It adds a lovely realistic aspect to the figure!!
I think most people will first focus on the huge ship parts, and her impressive bust and other details above her hips, but there is actually a lot of really impressive details on her legs and feet that need to be seen as well!!

Plus, although it is a little hard to see in the photo, if you look close you can see the tension in her Achilles tendon from using high heels!!

Back in primary school sticker books were really popular, so seeing a huge set of stickers come out of the envelope is more than enough to get me excited!
There are a total of seven different stickers, each one representing some of the new challenges that GSC is currently undertaking! ♪

A brand new idea coming to the Nendoroid world soon!
This plan was first revealed at Wonder Festival 2017 (Summer) – a new project that will combine the world of dolls and Nendoroids! Stay tuned for more info!!

GSC’s First Doll Brand: Harmonia bloom! ☆
The dolls were just on display at Doll Show 52 Winter in Asakusa! The character doll of Hagumi Hanamoto has already been announced and preorder stock is selling out fast!
A new 5-minute anime airing from this month on TOKYO MX and BS Fuji! The project is a collaboration effort between GSC and TOKYO MX! It is also being shown on various streaming services, so be sure to take a look! (More Details Here!）
◆Hatsune Miku Illustration Contest Winner◆
The Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary Figure Project!
This illustration by Pomu was selected as the winner, and thus till be transformed into a scale figure by GSC! The amount of detail on the dress and her hair are sure to make for an absolutely amazing figure! Stay tuned for updates!! ε=(｡・д・｡)
A life-size replica of the famous sword! The head planner has also told me that there will be more to the sword than just its appearance! Look forward to more updates!!

( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ Let’s get right into it! How was the start of 2017?!
Time has just flown by, and yet there were so many things going on that the Winter Wonder Festival feels like it was around five years ago. We ran the “Good Smile Clinic” for the first time, announced all sorts of new figure projects and much more, making a nice start to the year.
We also had just started the Grand Summoner’s game… which admittedly had a lot of trouble at the start and taught us some valuable lessons about how to manage and run a game like that. It was very interesting to be dealing with the players of the game as well as the team running things as we strived to improve the game. It’s already so nostalgic to me!

( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ Nostalgic? How so?
Yep! As it was a new challenge for us there were all new things to worry about and deal with – the same goes for all the new figure and anime projects we are currently working on, but it really made me realize how important it is to sometimes sit down and concentrate on a project. Replay the game over and over and fix anything that doesn’t feel right and keep working at it until we can please the fans as best possible; no matter how many tries it may take…
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ You also seemed to be going on a lot of overseas trips this year!
I took part in a lot of overseas events and really got the feel that the overseas market is expanding this year. A lot of the things that are popular in Japan now become popular with fandoms overseas at almost exactly the same time. I also once again realized that we really do have fans all over the world, which is such a wonderful feeling. In the past I’ve often just felt that being at the event and being told “thanks for coming” was enough, but it’s got to the point that we need to start treating our overseas fans with more care, and catering to their requests and wants as a separate section.
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ The popular OVERWATCH series is a good example of that!
Yep. We are very grateful to be able to work with popular series such as this and reach a whole new market with our figures. This also opens up a lot of new options for companies related to us such as USP (Ultra Super Pictures) and more. I feel that this the start of the year featured a lot of thinking and decision making that led to more opportunities toward the end of the year and even further into the future
（ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ In April we celebrated Max Factory’s 4th Anniversary!
If Max Factory had never existed, Good Smile Company may never have even entered the hobby world. We actually entered the industry as a kind of support to them, and before we knew it GSC had become a company that completed focused on figures and the hobby world. Thinking back on it all is actually a really emotional thing to me. I can hardly believe that GSC has been around for 16 years now.
To think that the only Japanese pilot would come in first place in not only the home race, but the entire championship made for a very exciting season!! The event was packed with fans that had a very special energy that really built up to his victory! While it hasn’t yet been decided if the event will take place in Japan next year I personally would love to see it come back every year. This was a very different challenge for us, and it takes a lot of hard work, but seeing everyone enjoy themselves at the event is always worth it.
（ ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ Into July! WonFes! But… I believe you were at a race overseas at the time!
That’s right. I missed out on the Summer WonFes to attend the Spa 24 Hours race where we really felt the pressure of the overseas teams!! That said, GSC announced many interesting new projects at Summer WonFes!
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ The Nendoroid dolls are one way to customize Nendoroids, but we also started a rather interesting service earlier this year as well!
The Nendoroid Face Maker! Nendoroids have always had the ability to swap faces between characters, but we wanted someway to allow fans even more options when customizing their Nendoroids. Thus this project was born!
We really went a little too far with this one! But the company has built an environment that allows everyone to try out new challenges like this one – we’ll have to wait and see how it pans out!
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ huke’s collaboration with Masaki Apsy on a new plastic model project is also another project to look forward to!
huke x Apsy x GSC. A connection between figures and plastic models that honestly will be a very interesting project! I’m not sure if it will be more popular with figure fans or plastic model fans, but we’ll have to see! This has been a very fun item from conception all the way to where we are now. I can’t wait to reveal more info to everyone!

( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ On the 31st August, Hatsune Miku celebrated her 10th anniversary!
We’ve been releasing 10 years of Miku figures and even now they remain as popular as ever. This new 10th anniversary figure was made with the utmost figure to show our thanks to the virtual idol! The sculpt work really is on an incredible level, and I wish more people could take a look at the figure in person! The way each and every one of the strands of her hair have been put together… it’s something that should be so common for me to see, but this figure is just something else! Looking at it makes me think it looks more like a CG model than a figure.
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ I also thought it felt very different when taking pictures for the blog!
Personally when looking at figures, the things that I feel are most important are a clean sculpt, accuracy and reproducibility. While I know there are many countries make figures with amazing details when sculpting, but I feel Japan is the forerunner when making and mass producing them and I feel that this particular figure is a perfect example of that. Thankfully we also have lots of people at GSC that take these sculpts and then make sure they move onto the next step in just as high quality.
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ The next step?
An example that comes to mind is the recent figure of Shiro. I remember looking at the prototype and thinking the amount of detail was almost too high for mass production…
But when the sample came in from the factory, it was almost identical to the prototype. I was stunned. The factory even commented that if they receive something with such precise detail then they have to work equally hard to put out the same quality!
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ Into the Winter! The final face for the GSR team!
Thanks to everyone’s support, we managed to take the champion title for the first time in three years! This year was the AMG 50th anniversary, Yokohama Tires 100th anniversary and Miku’s 10th anniversary, so it was the perfect memorial year to make a victory! We have also already announced the new Racing Miku design for 2018, illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki!
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ Anyway, let’s step away from work for a bit. Is there anything else you were interested in this year?
Hmm… just the other day you may have seen there was a Kizuna Ai YouTube Video that I featured in. Ever since then I’ve been quite interested in looking at various YouTuber’s videos. The way they edit the talks and bring out that “YouTuber” feel almost makes it feel like there are unwritten rules to making videos on YouTube now, which is quite interesting. After watching a couple of different YouTubers I think I’ve started to understand why people become so addicted to watching these videos.
Also, I really enjoyed the Little Witch Academia anime series! To think that the series started as a single short film at Anime Mirai and managed to come all the way to become a full animated series. It has a very special place in my heart, and it has only come this far thanks to the support from all the fans!
Plus we have finally started getting things going with the second season of Thunderbolt Fantasy over in Taiwan. There was also a special movie edition that was in some theatres near the end of the year. I really am excited to see where the series goes from here on out.
I want to make myself useful to hobby and anime fans all over the world!
( ｶωｶ)ﾉﾞ Make yourself… useful?
Up until now we have always had our hands full planning items with mostly aimed at Japan, but we have managed to build up an environment that can start catering to more now. There are many opportunities for fans all around the world to see our products and learn about figures, and I think it’s an important time for us to start looking at the overseas market together with the Japanese market.
For example, there are some items that cannot be sold by us in Japan due to licensing issues but we can sell exclusively to overseas markets, and there are also certain series that have a lot more popularity in the West that we need to look into more – simply put, we need to start planning products aimed at overseas markets.
I know there are lots of fans of all sorts of different series out there, and I want to present our figures to those fans in a way that they can be satisfied and proud to own items from their favorite series, no matter if they are in Japan or in any other country in the world. That is how I want to be useful to the fans.

Today I’m going to take a closer look at the Nendoroid in celebration!!!
From the masterpiece romance visual novel “CLANNAD” comes a Nendoroid of the main heroine, Nagisa Furukawa! She comes with three face plates including a gentle standard expression, a bashful embarrassed expression and a heart-warming smile.
Optional parts include the green dango from the great dango family as well as some anpan and the amazing rainbow bread from her family’s bakery! Recreate your favorite scenes from the game and enjoy the adorable Nagisa by your side whenever you like!
“If it’s possible… I’d like to remake the Drama Club.”
From perhaps the most well-known of all the games made by Key, “CLANNAD”, comes a Nendoroid of the heroine, Nagisa Furukawa!! Ever since I joined Good Smile Company many years back I’ve always hoped I’d one day get the chance to create a Nendoroid of Nagisa… I’m so happy that the day has finally come!! ★

The slight wavy look in her hair is actually included in the sculpt to capture her original standing illustration from the game as faithfully as possible! If you look close you’ll also see the red hairpin at the side!

Her eyebrows are bent slightly downward look but her eyes have a bit of an upward gaze for a very adorable look! Her unique hairstyle has also been faithfully captured, and the sticking-up parts of her hair are attached with a joint allowing them to be moved around for different nuances!

Note the detail of the anpan, including the packet it is in as well as the little poppy seeds sprinkled on top!

The mysterious bread baked by Nagisa’s mother Sanae is included with the Nendoroid!! The bread makes use of a metallic green base with multiple layers of different colors on top to recreate the rainbow effect! Note that the rainbow effect may differ slightly on each product, but we will do our best to keep them as faithful to the prototype as possible! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

This pose is intended to recreate the opening theme scene from the second season of the anime! She only appeared like this for a second in the opening theme, but the pose was so iconic to me that I simply had to include it as a part of the Nendoroid!
