Nendoroid Mega Man X: Full Armor

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

I noticed that the students have all switched from Summer to Winter uniforms. It’s really starting to feel more like Winter is coming now! The school culture festivals will also be starting soon! Just thinking about it brings back so many memories!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at a figure that will be up for preorder from next week!

Nendoroid Mega Man X: Full Armor!

From ‘Mega Man X’ comes a Nendoroid of the Maverick Hunter X with all of his upgrades complete! Optional parts include his X-Buster with the standard shot, charged shot as well as his upgraded ‘Spiral Crush Buster’ shot! He even comes with parts to recreate the secret ‘Hadouken’ pose from the game!

The Nendoroid comes with both a standard expression as well as a combat expression to switch between. His legs are also specially articulated allowing you to pose him in the dashing pose and jumping pose from the game!

The Maverick Hunter who fights for peace!

The Maverick Hunter X who fights alongside his partner to maintain peace in the world and protect humans and Reploids alike from Maverick Reploids is joining the Nendoroids! ☆

The sharp, mechanical appearance of his armor together with the round human-like appearance of X himself have been faithfully preserved and the X-Buster hand is ready to take down any Mavericks that pose a threat to peace! The rather serious yet passionate look on his face has also been faithfully included! Lovely details that bring X to life in Nendoroid size!

To think that the first Mega Man Nendoroid was No.556… and yet the most recently announced Nendoroid Chris Redfield is already at No.681! Time is really flying by!!! You’ll have to wait until next week to see what number Nendoroid Mega Man X: Full Armor will be! ♪

Anyway, let’s get back to X!! (∩・∀・)∩

△ Jumping Pose △ 

Even the details of the soles of his feet have been faithfully sculpted and painted onto the design! Plus the shoulders, upper arms, wrists and knees are all fitted with joints allowing for action poses like this jumping pose right out of the game!

He also comes with bent arm parts which you can swap out to recreate various scenes and make original poses as well!

△ Dashing Pose △

The Nendoroid stand can easily hold up X in a forward-bent posture allowing you to somewhat recreate the dashing pose from the game as well!

Plus due to the fact this his feet are flat you can also pose him without a stand at all if you are careful about the balance! Take a look at the very first photo of the blog for an example! ヽ(●´Д｀●)ﾉ

In addition, X also comes with three different effect parts!!

The coloring and shape of all the effect parts has been carefully adjusted to faithfully represent the attacks from in game! ε=(｡・д・｡)

By the way… the name of the fully charged shot from the upgraded arm armor is apparently the ‘Spiral Crush Buster‘! How many of you knew that before reading this blog?

Last but no least… you can also pose him using the secret move from the first game!

You can also use the Hadouken parts as a smaller version of the standard charged up shot if you pose it with the X-Buster instead!

Lou Zhenhua (Chaos Dragon)

Today’s Main Feature!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at this figure already up for preorder…

Lou Zhenhua!

From the anime series ‘Chaos Dragon’ comes a 1/8th scale figure of the master assassin that will eliminate any target given – Lou Zhenhua! The figure is based on an original illustration by Shimadoriru, the original character designer for the series.

Lou Zhenhua has been placed in a captivating pose, with the finer details of her design all faithfully captured in figure form! The enchanted sword ‘Qisha Tianling’ that she refers to as her Lord is included for her to hold, and the figure’s base features a large skeletal head to bring out the atmosphere of the series in high quality for fans to enjoy by their side!

The assassin so skilled that it is said that nobody in the dark side of the world does not know her name – Lou Zhenhua is getting a lovely 1/8th scale figure! She is posed in a dynamic pose holding the enchanted sword ‘Qisha Tianling’ which she refers to as her Lord! ♡

Her lavish, bewitching smile with a hint of madness together, sexy outfit and the detail on her beloved sword all come together to create a figure that captures everything about Lou Zhenhua beautifully in figure form!

This is how she looks from the back! ヽ(*´Д｀*)ﾉ

The impressive curves of her hips and legs can be seen through the gaps, and the large hood she wears has such intricate creases and shadows to maintain a realistic appearance! ♪

The gentle sculpt of her sleeves blowing about in the wind and dynamic look of her figure all the way down to her finger tips is such a pleasure to look at! This angle also shows just the right amount of skin on the legs to be sexy but not too showy! (*´ェ`*)

But that said, looking from a lower angle shows just how bold her choice of outfit is! It’s also a show to how confident she is in her skill as there is clearly not much need for armor!

This photo really takes things as close as they can get! You’ll have to add her to your collection to see any more!! (/ω＼)

If you choose to turn your head upward though, you’ll find another rather pleasant view!

So perfectly shaped… and almost gravity-defying!!

The strap that holds the coffin on to her back comes in-between the cleavage making them even more prominent! Plus if you look close… you can kind of make out the exact shape of the body underneath that outfit!!!

The base of the figure is just as impressive as the figure itself, with a pile of heavy-looking skulls piled up creating a surface for Lou Zhenhua to stand upon! The touch and cracked appearance of the skulls as been preserved on the figure so beautifully! (´□｀｡)

You can see the skulls have been changed over the ages with slight changes in color tone and chips and cracks all over the design! The texture of the various different parts such as the teeth are also made to look different from a paintwork perspective to create such a realistic appearance!

It’s such a waste to call this a ‘base’! It’s a work of art itself!!

Those aggressive eyes and excited smile… the expression is both cute and strangely frightening at the same time! It’s wonderful!! ♥

But her expression isn’t the only one that caught my eye! The blank, vacant eyes of the skulls on the base are also amazing! If a little scary! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

Plus just look at the intricate detail put into her enchanted sword – ‘Qisha Tianling’ 

The red of the sword matches up with the coffin on her back and her outfit with the golden guard making a lovely accent! ★

Minami Nitta: Sleeping Little Devil Ver. (THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS)

The end of this month is Halloween!! I’ve been having dreams of running into beautiful girls like the one below on Halloween night!

 Today I’m going to be taking a look at… (ΦωΦ)

Minami Nitta: Sleeping Little Devil Ver.

“Come now… let’s have some wonderful dreams.”

From the idol production game ‘THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS’ comes a 1/7th scale figure of Minami Nitta. The figure is based on the ‘Sleeping Little Devil’ version of Minami and faithfully captures her pose and outfit of the card after special training!

Enjoy the sexy outfit as well as her shy yet gently smiling expression from any angle you choose! The top of her shoulders also makes use of translucent parts to recreate the see-through appearance of her outfit! Be sure to add this devilish version of Minami to your collection!

Let me start off by saying… THANK YOU MAX FACTORY!!!

Ever since the unpainted prototype of this figure was announced I have been waiting patiently for the final version in the hopes that I could take photos of her and introduce her on the blog!! I was so happy when I got the go ahead! It is such an honor!!

So without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the amazing sculpting and paintwork that fits the title of ‘Little Devil’ so perfectly!!

▼ Just look at this cute yet captivating beauty!!

The facial expression, pose, outfit… everything about the composition of the figure provokes all five… if not all six of the human senses!!

Looking from the side you can see the tail coming out from the gaps of her skirt and winding around her arm creating such a captivating pose!

How could anyone remain calm staring into the eyes of this slightly blushing expression together with such a sexy pose!! I know I can’t!!! ( ;∀;)

But it’s not just the expression and the pose, also take a look at the amazing details and colors of her outfit!!

It’s no exaggeration to say that it really brings out all of the Minami’s charm to the maximum!!

To think that the shy Minami would wear such a sexy pair of shoes is more than enough to put a little smile on my face…

▼ The zips all over the design look amazing!

You can find zips on her chest, skirt and knee-high socks! The fact that some of them are zipped down allow for more of her bare skin to show bringing out a more sensuous feel to the figure!

▼ Outfit has see-through shoulders!

I love the use of semi-transparent parts on figures to create effects like this! They bring out that mysterious beauty effect so nicely! The frills of her skirt and the tips of her arm covers also make use of the same transparent parts to add to the work of art!

▼ Not just sexy, but also so cute!!

The heart-shaped earrings, braided hair tied up with little ribbons and a heart surrounding the devil horns… amazing attention to detail that brings out the cute elements to her design beautifully!

The wings that you could see peeking out from the back even on the original illustration have been faithfully preserved on the figure! The heels also look fantastic from the back!

Djeeta: Idol Ver. (Granblue Fantasy)

Today’s Main Feature!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at Phat!’s latest product…

Djeeta: Idol Ver.!

From the popular smartphone game ‘Granblue Fantasy’ comes a figure of Djeeta dressed up in the popular idol outfit she wore during the 2015 April Fools’ event!

The gorgeous outfit, cute pose and lovely smile all come together to bring out the idol in Djeeta! You may have only seen this version of her on April Fools’ day, but now you can add her to your collection to enjoy her live performance whenever you please!

“Come now… let’s go to that beautiful, shining stage!”

The adorable idol version of Djeeta that was originally made as an April Fool’s joke is going to be released as a 1/7th scale figure!! Her outfit filled with frills and a cute chequered design together with all all the detailed little accessories have all been faithfully included on the figure’s design! ♡

The factory is going to have their work cut out for them!

The cute puff sleeves, sewing lines along her blouse and the frills on her collar… everything about the outfit is so beautifully kept in tact for the figure! (*´ｪ`*)

The bunched up look of her socks capture the material they are made from so realistically! It’s hard to think that they will be hard to the touch!! ♪

The shoes also have a metallic look to them which contrasts with the soft looking socks and bow that ties the whole shoe together so nicely!!

The different textures of her skin, the socks and the shoe are such a pleasure to look at!! ♡

Plus just look at her lovely body! The perfect body for an aspiring idol!

Personally I love the sculpting and shadows of the area around her knees from this angle! 

The legs aren’t too thin either, they have a nice sensual, touchable feeling about them that creates such lovely curves! (*´Д｀*)

Plus this cute idol wink with glossy lips!

I’m probably focusing too much on the things that stand out to me personally… but this is just one of those figures! It has so much to enjoy that you can’t help but point out the parts that stand out the most to you!!

You can also of course enjoy her from the back which was never even visible on the original illustration!! ♪

▲Cutting things a little close with a bit of a low angle!

The figure also gives amazing detail to areas that you can’t normally see straight from the front!

The creases on the shirt beneath the blue overcoat has been very intricately detailed… as are some other areas that aren’t quite visible in these photos!! Be sure to take a look from all sorts of angles once she joins your collection!!

The pose has her hips twisted a bit, which you can tell by all the creases in the outfit which add a lovely dynamic feeling to the figure! It’s one of those figures that looks good from all sorts of angles, so you’ll have to experiment a bit to find the angle that suits your collection best!

The figure is sculpted by Phat’s iTANDi!

Kahotan Post Office: Autumn & Figures 2016 Edition – Part 2

Autumn and Figures!♡

There are so many things that can be associated with Autumn! Foods, sports, art, weather… I got photos that represented all of them and more and every single photo was such a pleasure to look at! It’s also fun to see which figures everyone chooses to use with the theme, as well as the composition of each photo! As always a huge thank you to everyone who sent in photos!!

The red of Nadeko’s eyes match up with the red spider lily so beautifully!! Nadeko Sengoku: Medusa Ver.‘s cute smile with a somewhat twisted aspect to it comes out so nicely with this background! Absolutely stunning! I also love that you can see her legs peeking through the gaps of the flowers!! (´□｀｡)

1/10 Scale Miniature Dioramas

Hi everyone! Suwabe (@gsc_suwabe)  from the Corporate Planning Division here! Today I’m going to be taking a look at some items that went up for sale at the GOODSMILE ONLINE SHOP today! Unfortunately they are only available in Japan at the moment though!

1/10 Scale Doll House!▼

These products are made by a company called COUNTRY WOOD GARDEN, and a selection of their products are now available on the Japanese GOODSMILE ONLINE SHOP! The reason for this is that the items are 1/10th scale which makes them a lovely size for figma figures!! ♪

Simple is best with these standard rooms that really are just like a doll house for figmas! You can see that the size is perfect to display figma inside! They can also be put together very easily! You just need to connect the various parts together!

Nendoroid Chris Redfield (Resident Evil)

The long nights of Autumn are perfect for staying up late to play games! I wanted to play a certain game that’s been quite popular lately but I don’t even own a PS4 yet! I guess it’s time to consider investing in one!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Chris Redfield!

From the popular game series that reached its 20th anniversary in 2016, ‘Resident Evil’ comes a Nendoroid of Chris Redfield! The figure is based on the first generation of Resident Evil, and faithfully captures that fresh charm of Chris’s character in Nendoroid size! Optional parts include a handgun and knife as well as a rocket launcher as weapons. The rocket launcher also includes firing effect parts which can be attached and removed allowing for various different poses.

He comes with both a straight face as well as a strained face plate for more pressing combat scenes. Both face plates have a more defined bridge of the nose as a new endeavor to create more of a masculine appearance for male Nendoroids. The elbows are fitted with joints allowing you to freely pose Chris with his knife or handgun at the ready.

If you stand him carefully you can even pose him in the poses he got into when you sometimes lost control of the character! Plus as a first edition bonus, the Nendoroid base will includes the 20th anniversary logo making it a perfect commemorative item to remember the series by! Be sure to add him to your collection!

From one of the most classic survival horror games of all time ‘Resident Evil’ comes Nendoroid of the character that always finds his way out of the most desperate situations – Chris Redfield!

He holds a huge rocket launcher by his side dressed up in his Lagoon City S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) uniform, and has a tough, clear expression on his face that captures the reliable point man in all his glory!

Foreign words are so difficult to read!! (Which is the main reason I decided to major in Japanese history instead of world history!)

Autumn and Figures!

Even though we are already a few days into October I’m still wearing short sleeves most of the time! But the mornings and evenings are definitely starting to cool down now which means I think we’re properly into Autumn now! (/ω＼)

That said, I’ve been in Autumn for ages thanks to everyone’s lovely Autumn themed photos! Every photo that got delivered to my email made me feel Autumn was another step closer!! A big thanks to everyone who sent in photos!!! Today I’m going to be taking a look at some of them!

The first and second photo are of cosmos flowers, one of the most recognizable Autumn flowers! The third and fourth were taken last year when I went to Nakajima Park in Sapporo to see the Autumn leaves. You can enjoy the leaves from late October to early November in Sapporo – I highly recommend it!

Cosmos fields are beautiful put have a somewhat fleeting feeling about them… they do capture the Autumn scenery beautifully though! The second photo with the lovely Autumn leaves as well as the reflection of them is also beautiful! DIY Nendoroid Repairs Part 1: Removing Broken Joints

Hello everyone, my name is Arizono (@gsc_arizono), a member of GSC’s manufacturing team!

I’m sure there are many of you who have had the experience of your Nendoroid figures breaking at some point or another! Whether you were just playing around and it broke or perhaps you knocked it off the shelf while cleaning… there are many different reasons those precious members of your collection can break, and it’s always so difficult to remove the broken parts from the figure!

However! Today I’m going to be showing you how to remove those broken joints and replace one of the most common parts that break on Nendoroids…
DIY Nendoroid Repairs: Removing Broken Joints!

▲ The most common way joints break!

Today we are going to be removing this broken joint!

Please note that this blog is simply introducing a method to fix the joints! If you choose to try and repair a Nendoroid using this method you do so at your own risk! 

You will need the following four items to preform the extraction!

↑ The first photo shows a pin vise, pliers and an eye bolt.
The second photo is a standard hair dryer!

Be careful not to injure yourself with the pin vise or eye bolt!

“What exactly is a pin vice?”

There might be some of you that may not be familiar with this particular tool. It’s also sometimes known as a miniature drill or twist drill and is a useful, fairly inexpensive tool for anyone who works with small scale miniatures and models! We will be using a 1mm pin vice for this particular removal!

“What about an… eye bolt?”

An eye bolt is a bolt with a loop at one end. They have a shape a bit like a question mark and are normally used to create a hold to suspend ropes or cables from!

“Where am I supposed to find these things? How much will they cost me?”

These items can be found in any hardware stores as well as cheaper stores such as ¥100 stores or $1 stores depending on the area you live in! They are normally very affordable tools and are handy to have around for all sorts of repairs! If you do a little bit of research you should be able to find a store selling them at a very fair price! In addition, if you can’t find the exact tools above, similar tools that you have around the house should also do the trick!

Anyway, with the tools out of the way, let’s get started with the actual removal!

First we need to remove the broken joint from the body!

1) Open a small hole using the pin vice.

2) Screw the eye bolt into the hole you have made

Try to keep the bolt as straight as possible to avoid any unnecessary damage!

3) Warm up the eye bolt with the hair dryer.

Heating up PVC which is what most figures are made from makes the plastic much softer allowing you to safely and effectively remove the broken joint! Do be careful not to burn yourself with the hair dryer while doing this!

4) After about 20 seconds of heat,
gently pull on the eye bolt, and the joint should come loose!

*First make sure the eye bolt isn’t too hot to the touch!*

Joint Removed!

The first step of our repair process is now complete!

Next we need to remove the broken half in the neck!

1) Warm up the neck joint part with the hair dryer.

2) Grab the round part with pliers and pull!

Joint Removed!

But there is actually a second option for removing this side of the broken joint!

The alternate method makes use of this hole in the neck part of a Nendoroid!


Just like in the first option, first warm up the neck parts…

Then use an eye bolt or similar thin item to push through this hole!

Simply choose the method that suits you better!

Note that there are some products that don’t have the hole in the neck joint, in which case you will have to go with option one!

This example had the breakage with the round joint stuck in the neck section, but the break can also just as easily happen the other way around – in that case you simply need to switch the tools around and pull the two broken halves out in the same way!

Once you have successfully pulled the broken joint out you need to find yourself one of these!

Spare Neck Joint!

A spare joint is almost always included with each Nendoroid!

You’ll normally find it in the same package as the base and stand! Simply replace the joint with the spare and…

Fixed!

We have our Nendoroid back to normal!!

The next time you drop your Nendoroid or bend it too hard in the wrong direction, be sure to try out removing and replacing the joint with these simple steps!! m(_ _)m

This was my first ever attempt at the repair and it when through without any problems!!

Next in this series, we will be looking at how to get rid of unwanted dirt and marks on your Nendoroids!

The Prism Star outfits that shines during their performances on the Prism Show stage has been carefully converted into Nendoroid size.

Such a refined smile from the prodigy who excels at writing songs that attract so many fans!

His guitar is also included in such lovely detail along with a little guitar pick!! The tied up part on the back of his hair is a separate part that can be moved around for slightly different nuances too!

– The Idol of the Streets –

Nendoroid Co-de Kaduki Nishina

That playful winking expression captures his personality so perfectly!

The energetic pose that gives a little peek at his belly button is cute, but at the same time his masculine features have also been nicely preserved on the Nendoroid design! (；ω；)
