Nendoroid Yuno

Back in April we had the…
Resale & Product Request Polls!

010
You can see the results at this address, but unfortunately only in Japanese!
http://goodsmile10th.jp/sousenkyo/

I want to thank everyone who took part in the polls! It was a special project to celebrate GSC’s 10th anniversary, and we bring back as many of the popular choices as possible.

On the other hand, we also want to make new figures that were requested… one of the most popular requests was this one!
002
From Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb:
Nendoroid Yuno!

From the popular anime now onto it’s forth season, ‘Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb’ comes a Nendoroid of the main character, Yuno! You can recreate a number of scenes from all the opening themes up to now, as well as various other scenes!

She was first seen back at the Summer WonFes, and I know fans have been waiting for her ever since!!

Seen she was so high up in the results of the polls, I’ve received a ton of emails asking about when she was going to be announced… I’m glad I can finally have her debut on the blog!

Just look how cute she is!!

Ume-sensei is also included! He is also cute in his own way! 😛
003
This is how she looks from the back!

Yuno’s soft-looking hair and simple yet lovely uniform look great from the back! It’s like the figure just jumped right out of the actual series – she has that same relaxing atmosphere about her!
004
Yuno holding onto her sketchbook!

Using these special set of arms you can recreate this pose from the first season’s opening theme! I also posed her leaning forward just a little bit, which I think adds even more cuteness to the pose!!

Plus you also get the extra cute of Ume-sensei by her side… it’s almost too much cuteness at once! 😛
005
Yuno sketching with her pencil!

She comes with a sketchbook and a special left hand part to hold it, and together with the included pencil allows you to pose her sketching like this!

Bent arms are included for both the left and right arms, and both the shoulders and upper arms are on an axis. This means that you can open out the arms to various degrees, giving you even more options when trying to strike a pose!
006
A smiling face and some bread!

Just by looking at this expression I think I can get all the energy I need to get through the day! Both the expression and the bread once again come from one of the opening themes of the series!

Oh, and Ume-sensei has a ball-joint in his neck making him posable as well!
007
Her third expression is blank!

We’ve seen this on Nendoroids in the past – the idea is that you can choose which expression you want! A set of stickers is included for you to pick the expression you think suits her best!

I decided to use the sticker on the bottom left for this photo – it’s an expression really suited to Ume-sensei’s works!
008
Displayed with Nendoroid Madoka!

Ume-sensei was responsible for the Hidamari manga, as well as the character designs in Madoka, so these two characters are actually linked together! This time Yuno is using the expression found on the upper right of the stickers!

For those who are wondering about whether or not her expressions will be switchable with other characters – it looks like it should work! We’ll have to see how the final product comes out after production though – no promises yet!
002

Plus… 009
Miyako-chan is also on her way soon!!

I know this is one set of Nendoroids I want to collect now… 😛

I also can’t wait to see the final colored version of her… and find out what optional parts she’ll come with!! As soon as I know more I’ll let everyone know!
But that’s all for today!
I hope to see you all again tomorrow!! (・∀・)ノ゛

Nendoroid Hoshikuzu Witch Meruru

001
It’s got to the time of year when GSC receives a whole bunch of end-of-year gifts! A big thank you to all the fellow companies that have sent us some goodies!!

The general affairs department sent a mail through to all the staff to come through to the snack table, and while I was there I found something rather interesting…

Just look at this strange looking trophy! Σ(゜∀゜ )

Yep! It’s actually part of the prototype that we’ll be taking a look at today!
002
From ‘Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai’:
Nendoroid Hoshikuzu Witch Meruru!

With a second season on the way, ‘Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai’ is still as popular as ever – as is the anime series which features within it, ‘Hoshikuzu Witch Meruru’ and from that series within a series comes a Nendoroid of the magical girl, Meruru! You can display Meruru in poses ranging from epic battle scenes to cute magical girl poses – however you think she looks best!!

Meeru, Meru, Meru, Meru, Me~ ♪

The planning of the figure was by Phat Company, but is being released by Good Smile Company! It’s A Nendoroid of the lovely Meruru-chan from Kirino’s favorite anime series!
003
This is how she looks from the back!

Meruru is the magical girl transformation of the elementary school student, Meru Akahoshi! She’s so very cute!! I love how her twintails curl around at the ends!

She also has so many little accessories that look great – her backpack is fitted with boosters and she can also be posed holding her magic wand!
004
A cute chibi face for when she takes a hit!

This expression features in the opening theme I linked above (very briefly!), and based on that, this pose is trying to recreate the scene where she is fighting some kind of tentacle monster!

It’s also a very useful expression for a lot of poses other than battle scenes, it has a nice comical feeling to it for some really cute poses!
005
Shooting hearts with a winking face! ♪

Meruru’s ultimate attack shoots out a bunch of hearts toward her enemy, and this pose allows you to display her ready to fire! A special set of arms is included specially for this pose.

The mysterious Comet-kun that gave her magical girl powers is also included! ヽ(゚∀゚)ノ

Meruru herself has a pink heart-shaped stand, while Comet-kun comes with his very own circular stand of the same color! They are nicely coordinated to ensure it doesn’t look strange to have them displayed together!
006
Nendoroid Kirino is really excited!

You can see she is holding the Hoshikuzu Witch Meruru DVD! Having these two displayed together is a little surreal, but with figures you can create these dream meetings! 😛

Meruru also comes with a hand in the ‘peace’ pose for her signature pose!
007
She can also become a trophy!

This was such a great idea!!

You can recreate the ‘Nendoroid Hoshikuzu Witch Meruru’ trophy that was the prize for the cosplay competition in the series!

You can choose to pose her as a normal Nendoroid or instead as a trophy for a contest – the choice is all yours!

Nendoroid Kirito

001
Ooh! It’s a healing potion! Σ(゚∀゚ )

Edako from the production team is holding a small bottle filled with an orange liquid… it’s so tiny! I’ll happily help myself to recover some HP though!!
002
From ‘Sword Art Online’:
Nendoroid Kirito!

From the anime series ‘Sword Art Online’ comes a Nendoroid of the fastest swordsman and member of the Progressers, Kirito! He also comes with all sorts of optional parts to help you recreate the world of Sword Art Online!

The second Nendoroid from SAO following on from Nendoroid Asuna!

Now you’ll be able to display the two of them together flirting around with each other, fighting alongside each other or however else you want to see them together!

Unfortunately the Nendoroid Asuna prototype has been sent off to China, so I wasn’t able to use her for these photos! Darn!
003
This is how she looks from the back!

Kirito is of course the only character with the ‘Dual Blades’ unique skill, so he has two swords on his back! That said, you can also remove one of the scabbards and instead pose him using a single blade, if you prefer!

To the right you can see the S-class ingredient ‘Ragout Rabbit’

The plump looking area around the rabbit’s neck looks lovely! 😛
004
His favorite sword, Elucidator!

Kirito is also known as the fastest swordsman in the Progressers, so of course he comes with his black sword! He also comes with a bent left arm and a bent left leg, which allows you to recreate this famous pose from the key visual!

We once again have the Ragout Rabbit on the left… but this time he is completely out of focus!! (((;゜Д゜)))
005
Elucidator: Clear Ver.!

This is included to allow you to display him while is he is using his skills! It’s completely separate from the previous version, and is made to look like it’s glowing with light! He also comes with a bent arm for the right arm, so you really have a lot of options while trying to get the pose you want!

It appears the Ragout Rabbit is quite impressed with Kirito’s glowing sword!!
006
Dark Repulser is also included!

This allows you to pose him with both blades for his ‘Dual Blades’ skill! He also comes with this expression which works nicely for combat scenes! You can make some really nice dynamic poses which suit his ‘Fastest Swordsman’ title!

The Ragout Rabbit better start running if he doesn’t want to be eaten! 😛
007
The swords can be removed from both scabbards!

You can also pose him with just one removed, so you can mix and match depending on how many swords you want him to have on him. But there is a lot more to enjoy than just his swords – just look at the detail on his black outfit or the paintwork on his shoes! I’m certain fans will be very happy with this one!
008
Save the party with a healing potion!

Now the size seems to fit just right! There is a tab on the potion that allows you to place it in Kirito’s hand – it holds in place very nicely!
009
But it was too late for the potion!!

A despaired expression for when he loses his party members!! (゚Д゚)

Seeing the potion lying at his feet just adds to the effect – it’s such a sad looking scene! Poor Kirito!

Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 5: Mixing Colors, Base Colors and Eyebrows!

Nendoroid Painting, Day 5!

goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version

It’s been three weeks since I was last here! Σ(゚Д゚;)

This was just a series I started on a whim, but it’s actually become very popular with people in the figure industry and serious hobby fans! I was quite surprised at the response, but also very happy!

You can find the previous posts in the series here:
Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 4: Preparing to Apply Color
Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 3: Continuing to Paint the Eye Borders
Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 2: Painting the Eye Border
Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 1: Basic Knowledge & Tools of the Trade

If you missed out or forgot what happened in the past (like me…), then feel free to go back and read them!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
There have been some changes since I was last here!

There is a new light stand, and someone placed some wrapping over the figure and paints! I’m not sure who was responsible, but I’m very grateful! Thank you!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
This is where we ended last time!

I had just filled in the whites of the eyes. Basically as you work through the different parts of the expression, you simply need to follow this process!
Paint with enamel paint
Clean up messy areas with enamel thinner
‘Save’ with lacquer clear.

When you look at it like that it looks quite simple, but it’s a lot of hard work!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Now I’ll be working on the iris!

I’ll be using the very lightest color you can see in the iris – the area at the bottom where the red arrow is pointing. First I’ll need to mix up this color!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
I’ll be using these three colors!

White, green and blue – the three colors of Miku!! I make use of these ear-bud shaped rods to get the right amount of paint into the trays!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Hmm… I think that’s about right?

I think I might have a bit too much green… I haven’t actually mixed any white into this yet though, I’ll do that last.

I’ve learnt myself that you want to get a good feel for the color before adjusting the brightness, so I mix the other colors till I think the color looks good, then add in the white.
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Mixed together! It looks a bit too blue now…

If it’s too blue, I just need to add in a bit more green! You just need to continue mixing colors until you think it looks right – once the blue and green look right I’ll move into the white in the same manner!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Color mixing complete!

Now I’ve ended up with way too much paint… this is what happens when you keep mixing more and more paint to try and get the color right… 😛

I guess too much is better than too little in the end! Getting the right color actually takes a lot more time than you think…

I also put a little dab on the eye to see if it looked right!!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Then something terrible happened…

I applied some enamel thinner to remove the test dab of paint, and the white of the eye came off as well!!

I forgot to ‘save’ after painting on the white!!!

This photo was taken after I had reapplied the white… I’m so hopeless. Those who don’t quite understand what I mean by ‘saving’ with lacquer paint, be sure to check the previous articles where I explain in a bit more detail!
Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 4: Preparing to Apply Color

The main reason I forgot that I hadn’t saved is that professionals actually paint both the white of the eye and the iris before they apply the lacquer to save. I was hoping to be just as good as them and completely forgot when I tried to wipe away my test color…

The reason you can’t just ‘save’ as many times as you like with the clear lacquer, is that the layer gets thicker each time and it won’t look nice after too many coats.

Of course, if you don’t save between the two parts you have to ensure you don’t mix the white and the iris colors! (((゚Д゚)))

You’d have to erase everything and repaint both the white and the iris every time you made a mistake. If I had to do that I’d never finish this blog, so I think I’ll just save at each stage! 😛
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
This time I painted lacquer over to save the white…

Then I tried to paint on the iris once again!

I think the color has come out quite nicely! Maybe I should have added a bit more white to make it a little lighter… but I think it’s good enough for me, so I’m going to move on ahead!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Comparison time… and something doesn’t feel right!

I can already see that the overall shape of the eye looks different!
They look all bent out of shape!!

I want to fix it!!

But I can’t change things now that I’ve saved with the lacquer layer!

Nooooooo!!! 🙁
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
These are the… eyebrows?

I thought maybe it was just looking a bit strange because there weren’t any eyebrows yet, so I quickly drew on some rough ones.

I’m using the same color for the eyebrows as I did for the base color of the iris, but I’m told that the actual Nendoroid Miku uses a slightly darker version of the color used for her hair!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Making adjustments with the fringe!

The eyebrows are not only made to be symmetrical, but also need to be adjusted to match up nicely with the fringe. Miku’s fringe in particular has different lengths which makes these changes even more important – the eyebrows can look very different once you attach the fringe! Although, I guess you could also say all of that about the eyes as well 😛

I’ve received a lot of mail from readers that said that it would be easier to make a single eye in Illustrator, flip that around and then print them out as decals. In the case of mass-production in China, the eyes are are done as stamp printing and thus are done with something like Illustrator – but when it comes to the prototype, they are always done separately. They are never simply mirrored across – that just ensures that the detail lives up to our standards!
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
Eyebrows completed!

Alright… I still think the eyes are a little skew, but it’s definitely making progress!! Let me try and put it all together now….
goodsmile company Mikatan's Blog English Version
It’s even worse than I thought!!

W-What is this?! It’s not even remotely cute!! It’s not Miku at all!!

I think if I showed this to everyone now you’d all lose your motivation… so I’ll save it for the end…。ヽ(゚∀゚)ノ

Just when I thought it was starting to go well, I was actually quite wrong… make that very wrong! I guess this is the difference between an amateur and a professional. 😛

Anyway, next time I’ll be working on the shadows on the white of the eye as well as the pupils! I think I’ll be able to complete this series in the next two posts or so, so I hope you’ll all enjoy what is to come and read through to the end!
But that’s all for today!
I hope to see you all again next week!! (・∀・)ノ゛

Nendoroid Petite: Uta no Prince-sama Maji LOVE 1000%

001
Santa Claus suddenly arrived at the GSC Offices! Σ(゚Д゚;)

But that’s weird… I’m sure he didn’t have those glasses and the mustache when I saw him yesterday… but anyway…

We also have Ayupan from the sales team supporting him from the back! I’m sorry, but I needed someone to take up the embarrassing role! 😛
002
Anyway, today I’ll be playing with a product that was released quite awhile ago, which has been a great hit with Ayupan and many other girls! I really have a tough time saying no to fellow girls when they request something…

Nendoroid Petite:
Uta no Prince-sama Maji LOVE 1000%!

From the popular anime series, “Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%’ comes a set of the princes to join the adorable Nendoroid Petite series of figures!

The set contains Otoya Ittoki, Masato Hijirikawa and Natsuki Shinomiya from A-class as well as Tokiya Ichinose, Ren Jinguuji and Syo Kurusu from S-class, all wearing their Saotome Academy uniforms. There is also a secret character to look out for! Each of the characters is posed in a way that really brings out their personality so you can keep the princes by your side whenever you like! ♪

They come in a box of 8 random figures!

You won’t know which character is in which box… but one will cost you just ¥500! You can also get a full box for ¥4000!

As always, let’s see who I manage to get first!

I’m hoping for… Hijirikawa-sama!! Come on, come on!!
003
My first random pick… Masato Hijirikawa!

Oooh!! I was actually lucky enough to get him on the very first try!!

It must be fate…!

I suppose in terms of the blog, pulling the one I wanted the most first isn’t the best thing, but I think my love for Hijirikawa-sama managed to let me pull him first!! That’s got to be it!! Yay!!
004
My second one… Natsuki Shinomiya!

Nacchan!! ━━━━━(゜∀゜)━━━━━!!!!

What a nice, gentle expression and an beautiful gradient on his hair that looks great! He has his one hand up in the air… is he trying to greet someone or something?
005
Otoya Ittoki and Tokiya Ichinose!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – they look absolutely amazing!!

Not to mention how very cute they are!! The gold lining of the blazers came out so nicely, and the paintwork on small things like the belt buckle and armband is simply outstanding! They really came out beautifully, and I know I’ll be happy to keep them by my side for many years to come!
006
Syo Kurusu and Ren Jinguuji!

When I showed the prototypes many people wrote in to let us know that Ren’s bracelet was missing – that has been corrected on the final product! It is something that really means a lot to him – he just wouldn’t be the same without it!

These two also both have very detailed outfits that fans can enjoy every inch of!
007
The secret character is… Cecil Aijima!

I know many of the fans were able to predict who the secret character was going to be. Good Smile hasn’t really released many products for the female audience in the past, and certainly not many with darker skin like this!

Plus just look at that amazing pose!! Just by looking at the figure, I can hear him speaking inside my head! 😛

http://www.animate.co.jp/shop/

But this blog isn’t quite over yet!

We’re also going to take a look at how the animate stores are displaying the Nendo Petites!! (*゜∀゜*)

Oooh! This should be interesting! I’ve actually gone to a couple of animate stores myself and taken a look at how they’ve had the figures on display – today we’re going to take a look at two stores in particular!
010
animate Shinjuku!

They’ve made a nice big display up near the 1st floor staircase so that everyone can see it on the way past! The way the boxes are all stacked up is really impressive too!!
011
A lovely diorama in the middle!!

Amazing! I also got a comment from one of the staff members, so let me post it for everyone to read!

We decided to make a diorama around the Nendoroid display case in order to bring out the atmosphere of the Utapuri setting. The Princes are all wearing their school uniforms in the Nendo Petite series, so we decided to base the diorama around the so-called ‘Stylish Hometime’ scene from the opening of the anime. We really tried as best possible to fit the diorama around the size of the products to make it seem like they fit in nicely!

It was quite a lot of work, but I teamed up with other staff members and we worked together passing out advice and help, eventually managing to complete it! I myself am a huge fan of the Uta no Prince-sama series, so creating the diorama as a part of work was actually quite an honor, and I hope it will catch the attention of people in the store so that the series can grow even more. I hope our display will inspire lots of fans to grab some Princes for themselves!

009
It was… handmade?!

A true show of your love for the series! I wish I had been able to introduce these figures to everyone with such enthusiasm!! There was also one other comment, which was also quite amazing!

We wanted to create a sort of 3D feeling which meant we really had to consider the positioning of the figures quite carefully. In particular, it was quite difficult to get Ren to fit in with a pose that still had him with his elbow on the handrail – but in the end I was very happy with the final result!

Next time I visit the Shinjuku store I want someone to introduce me to everyone who worked on this display! I need to thank them in person!!
012
animate Fukuoka Tenjin!

Ooh! A really impressive display with so many boxes piled up!! The big poster at the back is also up nice and high so people can see it from far away!!
013
The Princes wrapped as a present!!

Isn’t it lovely!!! The heart shape is just perfect!

Normally you’d see figures like these on display on shelves or on desks, but it’s very interesting to see something different like this for a change! Although I think a big part of it is also that because the figures are aimed at the female audience, my fellow girls all get a chance to put their expression to the test to make the displays look wonderful! Just looking at this display makes me feel all happy inside!

That brings my two store highlights to an end! (`・ω・´)b

These photos were actually sent to me just after the Nendoroid Petites were released, so the layout might have changed a bit by now… but I’m certain they are still well worth the visit!

Anyway, that’s all for today!
I hope to see you all again tomorrow!! (・∀・)ノ

Nendoroid Frau Koujiro

001
It would seem that Shuu-chan from the planning team (who has just cut his hair), seems to be really excited about this particular prototype! If it’s that amazing then I can’t want to see it too!!
004
From Robotics;Notes:
Nendoroid Frau Koujiro!

From the popular anime series ‘Robotics;Notes’ comes a Nendoroid of the beautiful, genius programmer who speaks Internet slang as if it where her native language, Frau Koujiro! She comes with everything you need to display her in the pose you think suits her best!

The second Robotics;Notes Nendoroid, following on from Akiho!

Frau is in fact very popular with quite a few Good Smile employees, and they all agree that she looks really adorable as a Nendoroid!
003
This is how she looks from the back!

She is wearing the same uniform as Nendoroid Akiho, but don’t think her body is the exact same sculpt – there are lots of differences when you compare the two! The difference in the way the clothes are fluttering around is the most obvious, but the entire body was sculpted separately from Akiho’s!
010
Recreate poses from the game!

A lovely pose with her arms lightly folded and one hand resting on her cheek!

You can also recreate the famous game poses with Nendoroid Akiho… it might be quite fun to swap the parts around and place them in each other’s poses! Shuu-chan really thought of so many interesting things to do while working on these Nendos! 😛
005
An expression for her infamous laugh!

Such a unique expression, and yet it’s so perfect for Frau! Frau shows off her otaku hobbies mostly through her net slang, but she actually has another interest too…
006
Boy’s Love Doujinshi!

The title of the doujinshi is ‘The Crying Prince’ – you can even make out the logo!! The design of this is based on an illustration of Frau from a magazine!

Even the front cover illustration which features two men getting up close has been faithfully recreated in Nendoroid size! 😛
007
Her Poke-com and some Pockii!

You can display her looking up some information on Twipo (something similar to Twitter) by having her hold the Poke-com in her right hand. The grade of the Poke-com is different to Akiho’s, which you can tell by the different coloring!

Plus, she also comes with one of her favorite ‘Pockii’ snacks to munch on!
008
A half-asleep expression and alternate hair parts!

Oooh! This is just amazing! She’s so adorable!! Although to be honest, as far as the actual series goes, we never see Frau in her uniform without her twin-tails tied up… but then why exactly have these parts been included? Well…

You’ll be able to change her outfit with an AR application!! (`・ω・´)

More details about this will be coming soon, so look forward to it!
009
Her beloved Gunvarrel plushie!

Just look at the detailed paintwork of the plushie! Not to mention it even has articulated arms, legs and neck! There is also a tab on Gunvarrel’s left hand that lets you display him being held in Frau’s arms!

She comes with three expression parts, an alternate hair style and this plushie! There are so many possible variations to display that I’m sure fans will be very pleased with!

1/8th Scale Mikudayo

001
I’m being watched!!

Talk about an intense gaze! The review of this figure is already a little late and I’ve still got a pile of work to get through… but I’ll take some time right now to have a quick look at her for the blog!
002
From the Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku:
1/8th Scale Mikudayo!

The popular Mikudayo character costume based on ‘Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku’ was first transformed into a Nendoroid, and now is also on her way to becoming a 20cm tall 1/8th scale vinyl figure as well! The hair section on the figure even makes use of the same texture as the original for a truly realistic rendition of the costume!

She’s so big!! (((゚Д゚)))

This version of Mikudayo is an amazing 1/8th scale! Even the Nendoroid size had an incredible presence… this version is much bigger, and even closer to being just like the real thing!
003
This is how she looks from the back!

The slightly tilted pose is lovely! It really makes it look just like the actual character costume – those of you who have seen the actual costume will realize how similar they are!!
004
Displayed with Nendoroid Miku-san!

This will help give you an idea as to how big Dayo-san is. She stands 20cm tall!

I took this photo trying to pose Dayo-san patting Miku on the head… it almost looks like she’s attacking her instead though!
005
Her hair has a soft texture!

To recreate the feel of the original costume, the hair is all soft and has a similar texture to the original costume. The soft fluffy feeling is very similar to the ‘Sylvanian Families’ series of animal toys – basically very short hairs that feel wonderful to the touch! It’s such a relaxing feeling! (´∀`)
008
Note the creases in her clothes!

You might not have expected such detailed close-ups for this review… but it is a 1/8th scale figure after all! She deserves the same attention as any other 1/8th scale review! 😛

All the small details that make Dayo-san special can be seen – from the tight looking clothes at the chest area down to the floppy looking jagged edges of her blouse!
009
Her long boots!

I think one of the main factors that makes Dayo-san who she is, is the odd sense of imbalance between the top and bottom half of her body! Her legs actually look unexpectedly thin!

I also only just realized… but you can even see the creases on her arms!! Attention to the smallest of details is the Good Smile way! 😛

Some ‘Pop Candy’ is included!

As an optional part, the ‘Mikudayo x Fujiya’ collaboration product, ‘Pop Candy’ is also included! This is also included with Nendoroid Mikudayo… I look forward to displaying both the big and small version of her together, both in the same pose!

Holding some real Pop Candy!

The FamilyMart x Hatsune Miku project started today, so I decided to grab some Mikudayo Pop Candy and have her hold the real thing instead!! It’s actually quite an appropriate size – although I am holding it in place with double-sided tape. 😛

Doesn’t she look happy now that she has some real Pop Candy? If Dayo-san is happy, then I’m happy too!!

The Good Smile Lottery: Hatsune Miku 2012 Winter Ver. Starts Tomorrow from 10AM!

The Good Smile Lottery: Hatsune Miku 2012 Winter Ver.!

001

It begins tomorrow at 10AM!

You can try your luck at any FamilyMart stores across Japan!

The very first Good Smile Lottery… even I am prepared to jump between FamilyMart stores! I’m sure most of you have already seen the line-up of lottery items from the live broadcast or website, but I’m going to take a quick look at them on the blog too!

For each 800JPY draw, you’ll get one of the following products!
002

– A Prize –

Nendoroid Plus: Jumbo Hatsune Miku

She’s humongous!! I think this picture gives you quite a good idea of her size… she’s easily bigger than a small dog. If you take part in the lottery, be sure to be ready to carry this home with you! 😛

The packaging is pretty much identical to the original Nendoroid packaging, just the logo and catchphrases on the side have been altered to include the ‘Jumbo’ size! If you’re lucky enough to win her you’ll be able to enjoy this special size Miku Nendoroid whenever you like! (*゚∀゚)=3

003

Comparing sizes with Nendoroid Miku!

This size definitely gives her a very stark presence… although a somewhat different kind of presence to Dayo-san though. I think she’s a great size to leave in your entrance hall, similar to the larger threeA products or the soft vinyl Kyubey! (What is it that makes big products good for the entrance hall? :P)

She makes use of a U-shaped stand that connects at the neck. There are also supports for her twintails so even in spite of her size she stands up very stably!

– B Prize –

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Santa Ver.

A Nendoroid based on one of Sega’s DIVA modules! It’s simply amazing how cute Miku looks dressed up in a Santa costume!!

I love the fact that her Santa hat has two little holes for her hair – it’s like the hat was specially designed for her!
015
This is how the packaging looks!

She comes with two different facial expressions, bent arms and a number of optional parts to bring about the Christmas spirit! Even as a lottery draw prize she comes with so many different options to enjoy!
005Miku-san climbing out the chimney!

I’d love to have something this cute bring my Christmas presents! Her body fits into the chimney neatly for cute poses like this – just look at her little hands holding onto the sides!!!
004
Her hat can also be removed!

It’s quite strange seeing Miku without her hair accessories, it gives her quite a fresh feeling! She also comes with a bag full of presents which she can hold over her shoulder!

Although… I think Miku-san herself is the real present 😛

007– C Prize –

Nendoroid Petite:
Miku, Rin & Len Append Set

A wonderful set of three Nendoroid Petites!

I can hardly believe this is a C Prize!! There are no alternate parts or anything, but the details on each of them is spectacular!
008
Such intricate paintwork and sculpting!

The seem to have the same details as full-sized Nendoroids even though they’re so tiny! It’s amazing!
009
This is how they look from the back!

Even the reverse side is also so detailed… just look at how amazing the area around Rin’s hips look!! I would be more than happy to get these in the draw… I think I’d even hope to get them! 😛

010– D Prize –

Hachune Miku Cushion

There are two different types of cushion – the one on the left is the Hobby Shop Version and the one on the right is the FamilyMart Version! The FamilyMart version is based on the Nikuman that were sold at FamilyMart over the Summer!

The Good Smile lottery starts at FamilyMart tomorrow, however a little bit after it will also be available at other hobby stores. Watch the Good Smile Site for more information on when exactly that will be!
011
– E Prize –

Clear File & Calender Set

Each draw of this prize comes as a set of three clear files and a 2013 calander, both featuring a number of amazing illustrations from popular illustrators!

There are a total of three different sets, and you will be allowed to choose which of the three you like! A lovely prize that can be used in everyday life!
012– F Prize –

Rubber Strap Set

The top set of straps is illustrated by Putidevil-san, while the bottom set is illustrated by CHAN x CO! They’re all so cute!!

Each time you draw this lot, you’ll get a set of two straps – Rin & Ren, Miku & Luka or KAITO & MEIKO. There are therefore a total of six different options when you win this prize – and you can choose which you want!
013– G Prize –

graphig ABS

The unique and popular graphig designs have always been popular here at Good Smile!! The line-up features characters based on illustrations by Putidevil, Sanpachi, Chibo, Souno and even one based on the popular 3D model of Append Miku by Tda!

The expressions can also be switched between the different characters for those who collect a few of them!
014
– Last Draw Prize –

Nendoroid Plus Plushie:
Hatsune Miku: Santa Ver.

If you’re lucky enough to draw the very last lot, then you’ll get this lovely plushie along with your lot draw!

She is soft and fluffy, and will happily warm up your hands when you get back after a cold day! The twintails are also articulated for some interesting poses!
001
The Good Smile Lottery: Hatsune Miku 2012 Winter Ver.!

I know it was a very quick look at the various prizes, but I hope it gave you at least some idea as to what prizes you can expect! There is also one final prize called the ‘W Challenge Prize’ which will be given to 390 random entries – check the official site for more information!
