Nendoroid Racing Miku 2018 Ver.!★

The 2018 edition of the official character of the 2018 Hatsune Miku GT Project, Racing Miku, is joining the Nendoroid series! This year’s design is illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki and has been faithfully converted into adorable Nendoroid size! She comes with both a cheerful smiling face plate as well as a bit of a mischievous winking face plate.

Optional parts include the golden staff that was included to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Hatsune Miku GT Project, as well as a Nendoroid-sized car that Miku can even ride! Be sure to add the adorable 2018 edition of the Nendoroid to your collection, and be sure to cheer for the team once again this year!

This year is the Hatsune Miku GT Project’s 10th anniversary, and this is the design that was chosen to celebrate the commemorate the anniversary year! It looks so adorable in Nendoroid size! ♥

The attention to detail on the back of her design are also amazing! Note the red straps crossing on her back and the large ribbon which even includes the sponsor logos!

Her twintails are attached with Nendoroid joints allowing them to be moved around into various different positions to match different poses!

She comes with two face plates including this cheerful smile!

As well as a mischievous expression sticking out her tongue!

She also comes with a selection of interchangeable hand and leg parts which allow you to recreate the illustration by Hiro Kanzaki in Nendoroid size! ♪

Another snow forecast has come for Tokyo! It’s so cold outside that I’m really not surprised! Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at a figure that would look great with the snow…
figma Snow Miku: Crane Priestess Ver.

2018 marks the 9th anniversary of Snow Miku, and the 2018 design was once again selected by fans through online votes between a selection of outfits all submitted to piapro by fans! This year the theme was “Animals of Winter Hokkaido”, and the winning Snow Miku design was this version based on a red-crowned crane illustrated by Taichadon! The illustration has now been converted into this figma together with Rabbit Yukine who even holds a Shinto staff!

  • She comes with three expressions including a calm standard face, a gentle smiling face as well as a face with closed eyes as if in prayer.
  • Various items that match the priestess theme are included: a kagura bell, a folding fan, a Shinto staff and a tamagushi.
  • Her hood can be removed allowing for an different appearance.
  • An alternate lower body part and alternate coat part are included to display her kneeling.
  • An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.

Let’s start with a look at the packaging!

The top features a lovely deep blue which gives the overall package a very relaxed color scheme!ヽ(*´∀｀)ノ

I personally also really love this year’s Snow Miku logo!

▲ The figma number has a “EX” which is used for event products! ♪

The package may look rather slim at first glance, but the blister pack on the inside has two layers for a rather impressive amount of parts!

There are all sorts of interesting items to play around with, but the one that caught my eye first was this one!

Kneeling Parts!! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟヽ 三 ﾉﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

The area from the chest downward are replaced to display her in this lovely elegant kneeling pose, and alternate parts for her outfit are also included in order to really complete the pose!

Another part for the back part of her outfit is also included! Quite a few parts to switch out, but it makes for such a lovely pose! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

From the back you can see the underside of her socks!

The important thing to note here is you can see they way she is curling her toes around!!! Such intricate little details in such minor areas is really what makes the figma series so amazing!! (´□｀｡)

Her entire outfit is all based on the Japanese crane, and the points of articulation on the sleeves while she is kneeling have been very carefully thought out…


You can easily pose the sleeves in a very neat pattern to match the kneeling pose, but the amount of articulation also allows for various other potential posing options! ♪

Anyway, moving onto her optional parts, she comes with a kagura bell, a folding fan and a tamagushi.

But that’s not all, she also comes with a Shinto staff that matches up with the one that Rabbit Yukine is holding! ♪

Simply select the parts that best suit your pose! ε-(o´ω｀o)

By the way, I am often displaying Rabbit Yukine balanced on Snow Miku’s hands or head, but he does come with his own little stand as well! Be sure to add the lovely priestess Miku and her adorable companion to your collection!

I want to change my work desk into a kotatsu! The cold weather here in Japan has been continuing for quite awhile now – I hope everyone is keeping warm!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Snow Miku: Crane Priestess Ver.!☆

2018 marks the 9th anniversary of Snow Miku, and the 2018 design was once again selected by fans through online votes between a selection of outfits all submitted to piapro by fans! This year the theme was “Animals of Winter Hokkaido”, and the winning Snow Miku design was this version based on a red-crowned crane illustrated by Taichadon! The illustration has now been converted into this adorable Nendoroid!

The hood can be attached and removed for a different look, and she comes with three different face plates including a standard expression, a wistful smiling face as well as a prayer face with closed eyes and a touch of lipstick. Optional parts include a kagura bell and folding fan to pose her performing traditional dances! A cypress stand to place the tools on as well as kneeling parts are also included to display her in prayer, and a crane made from ice is also included for her to hold in her hands.

In addition, a large base featuring a paved road and torii archway is also included to bring out the temple atmosphere, and she comes with a broom to display her cleaning the temple grounds! The snow on the base can even be removed for even more display opportunities! Enjoy the relaxed Snow Miku priestess in all sorts of adorable Nendoroid poses!

Let’s start with a look at the packaging! (っ’ω’)っ))

A clear box covered in snowflakes with a special wrapping in the centre!! The red and white design with the decorative cord make for a very elegant package!

Snow Miku is a character designed to enliven the Winter of Hokkaido. She was originally created due to a snow sculpture of Hatsune Miku made at the 2010 Sapporo Snow Festival, and has been a part of the ‘SNOW MIKU’ festival in Hokkaido every year since. The 2018 theme for Snow Miku is ‘Animals of the Winter Hokkaido’.

The design this time around was based on this illustration by Taichadon! The illustration also features on the back of the packaging! ε-(o´ω｀o)

It’s quite a different style of packaging to standard Nendoroids! ☆

Remove the center label to reveal Miku covered in snowflakes!

As you can see there are all sorts of optional parts! The blister pack comes with two different layers in order to fit them all in! ♥

▲ The torii archway and paved road really stand out!

These two parts can be placed together to make a rather large display base like so! (*´ｪ`*)

The snow parts along the edges can be removed or moved into any position you like! ♪

As she comes with a broom you can even pose her sweeping away some of the snow! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”

As you may or may not have noticed, she also comes with a rather special round base that allows her to easily be displayed on this paved area! ☆

Using this base you can pose with in all sorts of poses without ruining the atmosphere with a full-sized Nendoroid base!

As with most Miku’s you can balance the Nendoroid on her hair, but I would recommend you make use of the base both to keep your figure safe as well as have a more dynamic and stable pose!(∩・∀・)∩

The sleeves of her outfit are based on the appearance of a red-crowned crane, the Hokkaido animal that this design was based around! ☆

As usual, Rabbit Yukine is also included to be posed together with her!

Note the iconic coloring of his ears… 

… and the rather warm looking cape he is wearing!

He also comes with an alternate sitting body for different poses! Miku herself also comes with many more other parts that bring out the “priestess” side of her design, including a cypress stand, kagura bell and folding fan! The bell has real ribbons tied along the end for all sorts of posing options!

She also comes with a crane made from ice!! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

Obviously it’s not really made from ice, but makes use of a translucent material to capture that icy appearance! Even though it is even smaller than Rabbit Yukine, the attention to detail is lovely! ♪

You can even pose Snow Miku holding the crane like this! Simply find the pose that you think suits her the best!!

Nendoroid and figma Snow Miku 2018!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the designs for the Nendoroid and figma of the the 2018 Snow Miku! The theme this time around was “Winter and Animals of Hokkaido”! We received a huge number of entries, but the eventual winner was none other than this lovely design!

Thanks to everyone who voted during the live broadcast or online!!

Let’s see how the design looks when transformed into Nendoroid and figma size! (∩・∀・)∩

Nendoroid Snow Miku: Crane Priestess Ver.!

Snow Miku is all dressed up in a priestess outfit! She looks so majestic and proud while still remaining so very cute!! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

She also comes with a variety of parts that are all amazing detailed, including the kagura bell and fan above!

The hood can also be removed as you can see in the photo below! ♪

Just imagine all the elegant poses you can form with this figma! The expression on her face has a lovely gentle feel to it, but also adds a bit of a mysterious air…

▲ The designs on the sleeves and the gradient on her legs have been carefully included!

Aren’t they beautiful?!

Both will also comes with lots more optional parts as well as alternate expressions, but you’ll have to wait and see what those are! (*´ｪ`*)

The reason these have been revealed is that they are currently on display at the Snow Miku Streetcar 2018 Private Viewing! ♪

The project planner for Miku, Hamako (@gsc_hama) was away on a trip to Shanghai so Akane Eiseihei (@akane_mxf ) and myself came down to Hokkaido to see the streetcar and take some photos for today’s blog! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

The design not only features photos of both the Nendoroid and figma, but also includes the 2018 Snow Miku main illustration drawn by Yasumo-san! ♪

The overall design has an elegant yet cute look with a bit of a Japanese-style design to match this year’s Snow Miku! ♡

The inside was also filled with Miku-san! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟヽ 三 ﾉﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

I even managed to capture her amazing movements on camera! ♥

This streetcar will actually be used in Sapporo, Hokkaido from the 27th November 2017 through to the 27th March 2018! Be sure to take a ride or even just a look if you are in the area!! ε-(o´ω｀o)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: V4 CHINESE!★

A Nendoroid of Hatsune Miku: V4 CHINESE – the Chinese version of Hatsune Miku known for her silvery and cute voice! The adorable design created by illustrator mamenomoto has been shrunk down to Nendoroid size ensuring she looks as adorable as possible! She comes with three face plates including a standard expression, a smiling expression and a playful expression with her tongue sticking out!

She also comes with a selection of optional parts that allow you to pose her singing, as well as a writing brush to cheer you on as you produce songs as well as a steaming basket and peach bun for some more playful poses. In addition, she also comes with an musical note hair part which can be attached for some more eye-catching poses! Enjoy the somewhat different Chinese version of Miku in your Nendoroid collection!

The electronic diva that also excels at singing in Chinese!

Hatsune Miku: V4 CHINESE has been transformed into a Nendoroid!!

The iconic details that separate her from the standard Hatsune Miku have all been captured with great care, including the twirly twin-tailed hair from the Chinese version illustration!

The smaller detail changes on her sleeves and boots that have a slightly Chinese style to them have also been included on the design! ♪

In addition, the round ring-like hair accessories and braided parts of her hair have also all been faithfully preserved on the Nendoroid design!

She comes with a total of three face plates! The first is her standard expression which you can see in the above photos, and her second is this lovely cheerful smile!

Moving onto her third face plate, we have this adorable playful face!

The sticking out tongue, the >< eyes make for a playful expression that contrasts with the mature air of her smiling expression for a very different atmosphere! ε-(o´ω｀o)

She also comes with a steaming basket and peach bun as optional parts!

But that’s not all, these parts are also included!

A musical-note shaped hair part that can connect into her hair is also included!

It connects between the front and back hair parts!

Hatsune Miku: 10th Anniversary Ver.

Today’s Main Feature!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Hatsune Miku: 10th Anniversary Ver.!

Hatsune Miku celebrated her 10th anniversary on the 31st August 2017. In commemoration of the anniversary, Hatsune Miku’s character designer KEI illustrated a brand new illustration of Miku featuring the outfit designed by manga artist Mari Shimazaki. This illustration has now been transformed into an intricate scale figure by sculptor Takayuki Kawahara, filled with 10 years of appreciation toward the virtual idol!

Her body shines with a rainbow glow, and the transparent areas of the design have all been captured on the figure, together with the meticulous detail of her twin-tails and the ribbons in her hair. The huge, iconic ribbon from the illustration has also been included on the figure, and even flows down to form the base of the figure as well.

In addition, the figure will include a 390 page A4 size commemorative book called the “Hatsune Miku Archive”, which will include the winners of the pixiv Hatsune Miku 10th Anniversary illustration contest as well as other contents to look back on Miku’s 10th anniversary. Be sure to add this commemorative figure to your collection and celebrate ten years with Hatsune Miku!

Celebrating 10 years of Hatsune Miku!

This year is the 10th anniversary of Miku-san!! We have taken her 10th anniversary design and transformed it into a 1/7th scale figure!

The figure is of based on the 10th anniversary that was specially illustrated by character designer KEI! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

The lovely Miku that we all love has been transformed with a metallic look and rainbow colors all over for a familiar yet new appearance! This version of Miku was designed by the designer and manga artist Mari Shimazaki! This was the original design!

The original illustration and design were of course amazing… but the figure has all been brought together by Good Smile Company’s very own Takayuki Kawahara!

But anyway, let’s get back to today’s main feature with a quick spin!

You can see just how large the huge ribbon on her back is, and speaking of ribbons, the rainbow-colored ribbons in her hair and glittery outfit bring so much lovely color to the figure! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”

The Nendoroid has to have some of the ribbons removed to fit in the mini-size, but the scale figure faithfully captures all seven different colors on each side! ♪

Each of the ribbons also has a glittery effect making it sparkle! So pretty!

Let’s take a look at three points that make this figure so special!

– Cuteness –

Just look at this adorable face!!

The feeling that KEI captured in his illustration has been preserved on the figure so beautifully! She looks so innocent and pure with a smile that could warm anyone’s heart! I could stare at this adorable expression for ages!

– Transparency –

If you look closely at her shoes you’ll notice that the tips are actually translucent!! In order to capture the illustration as faithfully as possible, the feet were completely sculpted first and then the shoes with a transparent layer on the outside! The inside isn’t just paint – it’s all actually sculpted!

The combination of transparency and glitter on her arm covers is also lovely!

– Shininess –

The rainbow gradient on the metallic part of her outfit has been carefully adjusted as not to be too overpowering, but still create that lovely colorful look!! ε-(o´ω｀o)

▲ Even the soles of her shoes have a metallic rainbow gradient!

Another area you have to take note of is the bottom the skirt and top of the socks!

Not only do they feature a glittery look, but the inside is also painted to make it look like the inside is glowing in order to capture the lighting effect from the illustration! ♪

The areas circled in red here have a kind of glowing effect that looks so amazing!!

It really is an absolutely stunning figure in terms of sculpt and coloring!! There is so much to see and enjoy! You really need to see her for yourself though!!

Hatsune Miku: Harvest Moon Ver. (Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku)

I only found out there were various different types of mooncakes after I started working at GSC. I always thought they were a delicious sweet treat, completely unaware that there are others that have a much more savory approach! I’ll stick to the sweet kinds though!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at the 1/8th scale…
Hatsune Miku: Harvest Moon Ver.!

From the “Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku” comes a 1/8th scale figure of Hatsune Miku wearing dressed up in outfit based on those seen at the Mid-Autumn Festival in China.

The translucent feeling from the original illustration by Chinese illustrator Rella has been captured as faithfully as possible, with a beautiful sculpt that captures her elegance. The paintwork is also a highlight of the figure, with the gentle colors of the design blending with the translucent parts to create an stunning appearance. Enjoy a moonlit light with the gentle smile of Harvest Moon Miku by your side!

“Won’t you admire the moon with me?”

This beautiful figure was on display at the recent CICF Expo event held in China, and now she is ready for preorders to open! The stunning version of Hatsune Miku based on an illustration by Rella has been transformed into a figure that captures the translucent, flowing feel of the illustration as faithfully as possible in figure form!!

The poster you can see above is based on the exact angle of the original illustration to show just how similar it is! I just had to show it off on the blog!! (∩・∀・)

But let’s move in with a closer look with the normal selection of photos!

While the figure is in a rather simple standing pose, there are still so many different things to see! First and foremost are they lovely twirls of her hair!!

If we take a look from the top you can get a good feel for the circular twirls that her hair makes as it dances downward!

The best thing about the twirls is that they are so gentle which match with the overall feel of the figure, while still providing a dynamic feeling to the figure!

The original illustration obviously was only ever in two dimensions, which made transforming this into three dimensions was not a simple task, but the artisans over in the production team have brought out a sculpt that looks beautiful no matter what angle you choose to look from! You really need to see the sculpt in person to really appreciate it!

Also note the details on the very top!

Can you see the little sprinkles of gold on her hair?

This silver dist is included to recreate the light of the moon as it shone on the top of her head on the original illustration! The ever so slight gold effect is to incorporate this golden light on the design of the figure as well!

The long ribbon-like part of her outfit is made from transparent parts to capture the original look, but also have the golden dust for that shiny reflection! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

All this and all I’ve really spoken about is her hair! There is still so much to enjoy about this figure! Just look at all the different layers of her outfit which have each been intricately detailed! ε=(｡・д・｡)

The frills at the very bottom of the dress are also individually sculpted in lovely detail!  ((´д`●))三((●´д`))

The pearl paintwork together with the sculpt that makes it look like it really is a soft fabric… it has such a mysterious yet eye-catching appearance!

Even though the figure isn’t painted with very flashy paintwork, there is something about it that just makes her so very charming! She just draws you in!! I don’t know how else to explain it!

Depending on the angle you choose to look from, the expression can change between being rather cheerful looking to having a much more wistful look!

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Magical Mirai 5th Anniversary Ver.

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Hatsune Miku:
Magical Mirai 5th Anniversary Ver.! ☆

From the “Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku” comes a new Nendoroid of Hatsune Miku based wearing the outfit used for the 2013 Magical Mirai key visual illustration! She comes with three face plates including a standard smiling face, a more serious smile with her eyes looking to the side as well as a cute smiling expression with a slight blush and closed eyes.

Optional accessories include her trademark hat as well as her magic wand sculpted in beautiful detail. She also comes with colorful magic effect parts to display her performing magic, as well as parts that allow for a cute sitting pose! A special background plate drawn by the illustrator CHRIS is also included to really bring out the magic! Be sure to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Magical Mirai by adding this magical Miku to your collection!

A Nendoroid to celebrate Magical Mirai’s 5th anniversary!

One of the original designs for the Magical Mirai version of Hatsune Miku has finally been transformed into a Nendoroid! ♥

⇒ PRODUCT DETAILS

The cute magician-esque top hat and outfit have all been adorably shrunk down to Nendoroid size!

▲ The star accessory is attached to the hat with a ball chain!
It swings around adding to the cuteness!

▲ The tailcoat jacket looks great from the back! ( *¯ ³¯*)

The Nendoroid also comes with a background plate that was specially illustrated by the original illustrator, CHRIS!

A special attachment part is also included which allows you to easily display the sheet as a backdrop for Miku-san! As a side note, if you can’t seem to find the background sheet be sure to take a look at the back of the inner sheet of the box – that is where you will find it!

▲ The panel has a protective sheet on which you will need to peel off!

Another thing to note is that the inside of the packaging for the Nendoroid features the of the 2013 Magical Mirai main visual! You could even use this as another backdrop for the Nendoroid! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

▲ Instantly makes for a more colorful display! ☆

The box itself features large holographic effects and a very cute design, so be sure to give it a good look too! ♥

Two different layers to store all the parts in! The Nendoroid base is also slightly larger than normal Nendoroid bases! ♪

By the way, the ribbon attaches to the hat using Velcro!

You can choose to remove the hat entirely, just the ribbon, or instead use both!

The Nendoroid also includes an alternate sitting part which allows you to display her sitting down like this!

The various interchangeable parts allow for so many options!

The other item that really stands out in the blister pack is of course the colorful magic effects!!

These effect cards come with their own little stand which allows you to place them wherever you need some Miku magic! (∩・∀・)∩

If you are very careful with your posing you can even pose her sitting on the effect parts like this!

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: 10th Anniversary Ver.!

Hatsune Miku celebrates her 10th anniversary on the 31st August 2017, and her special 10th anniversary illustration has been transformed into a Nendoroid to celebrate! The original character designer of Hatsune Miku, KEI, has worked together with the designer and manga artist Mari Shimazaki to create a vivid illustration to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku, which has been faithfully shrunk down into Nendoroid size!

Her colorful body, the iconic ribbon on her back as well as the ribbons in her hair have all been included to capture the more characteristic details of the 10th anniversary version. She comes with two face plates including a lovely smile based on the original illustration, as well as a cute winking expression for all sorts of adorable poses. Be sure to add the commemorative Nendoroid to your collection – the perfect item to celebrate Hatsune Miku’s 10th anniversary!

The 10th anniversary of Hatsune Miku! A brand new start!

The original VOCALOID2 Hatsune Miku software was released on the 31st August 2007 meaning the electronic diva has been around for a good 10 years now! This Nendoroid is based on the illustration that was drawn to commemorate the 10th anniversary and features various new details compared to the original!

First off, lets take a look at the colorful ribbon on her back!

The ribbon makes use of a translucent material together with very vibrant colors which makes for such a lovely and colorful appearance! The bottom parts of the ribbon are also fitted with joints ensuring that the ribbon won’t get in the way of certain poses!

Her outfit also features a special paint job! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Metallic with a rainbow gradient!

Doesn’t she look simply spectacular!!

Even in tiny Nendoroid size the outfit also features creases for a more realistic look that also shows off Miku’s sleek curves!

The headset and necktie also make use of translucent parts in order to capture the feeling of transparency from the original illustration! ☆

Moving on to her second face plate: a winking face!

So cute!! 100 Points!!!

The slight blush on her cheeks together with the wink and a slightly open mouth make for such an adorable face plate!! Not to mention that she also comes with hand parts that can be placed together to form a heart!!

The combination of this expression together with the colorful 10th anniversary design makes for such a playful appearance!

Racing Miku 2017 Ver. (Hatsune Miku GT Project)

There is only one week left of August! I’ve hardly had time to enjoy the summer and Autumn is already starting to sneak up!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Racing Miku 2017 Ver.!

A full scale figure of the official character of the Hatsune Miku GT Project “Racing Miku” in her 2017 version. The adorable fairy Miku illustrated by popular artist Tony has been transformed into a figure with careful attention to all of the details of her original design.

The figure makes use of multiple translucent parts in order to being out the see-through feel of the colors on the original illustration. The curves of her flexible, healthy looking body have all been captured to create a figure ready to charm both fans and newcomers alike! Be sure to add the fairy-sized Miku to your collection!

A Scale Figure of the Fairy Racing Miku! ♡

The official character of the 2017 Hatsune Miku GT Project has been transformed into a cute scale figure!

The Nendoroid and figma versions of Racing Miku 2017 Ver. are both only available to personal sponsors of the racing team, but the scale figure is available as a standard item and will be available at all the normal stores!

The soft coloring of her green outfit has been captured beautifully, and all those translucent frills look so adorable!! ♪

The different layers of frills make use of different colors!

The frills are not the only part of the figure that make use of translucent parts though! Her hair also gets more transparent toward the ends while also featuring a slight yellow-green gradient to faithfully capture the original illustration by Tony!

Plus the wing parts also of course have a see-through appearance! ★

The fact that there are so many parts of the figure with a transparent look gives the whole figure such a light and airy feeling that matches the fairy theme nicely! (´□｀｡)

Also take note of her lovely body!

She has a very slender build, but there is still something about the skin that makes her look so soft and touchable! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

If look quote close you can even make out the shape of her rib cage underneath her chest! Amazing sculptwork! Not to mention the see-through center which gives you a nice look at her belly button!

▲Also note the creases in the outfit due to the twist in her hips!

Another of my personal favorite places to look on figures…

By the way! This figure is actually a full 1/1 scale figure!

The reason for this is that this year’s Racing Miku is a fairy, and fairies are not that big!! Here she is compared with an iPhone 6S!
