It’s amazing how a little sunlight can make both people and figures look so much more beautiful… （´∀｀）I also wish I had a room as big as this, then I’d be able to put all my figures on display so easily!

Anyway, let’s continue to ignore Uchitarou-san in this photo, and move onto taking a look at this lovely looking figure! ヽ(゜∀゜)ノ

From Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland:
1/8th Scale Meruru!

From the PS3 game ‘Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland’ comes a figure of Meruru, the main character in the game! The figure has a lovely bright and cheerful feeling to it, just like the original illustration by Meru Kishida. A figure of the 19-year old Totori that appears in Atelier Meruru is also currently in production to display alongside her!

She is so captivating, colorful and cute!! (*゜∀゜)=3

You can also definitely still feel the unique feeling from Meru Kishida’s illustration as a part of the figure! Just by taking a look at this beautiful figure I think you could turn a bad day around!

This is how she looks from the back!

Meruru’s long wavy hair looks great from the back! I wish it was real so I could feel it for myself!! 😛

The pose is based on one of the official key visuals from the game that had a nice dynamic feeling to it, which also comes across in the figure very nicely! It’s so lovely to be able to see all the different angles on the figure that you could never see on the original illustration! 🙂

Her beautiful multicolored cape!

This was definitely the part of the illustration that always drew my attention – the beautiful gradient on the reverse side of her cape!

It’s not easy to create a gradient on a figure with so many different colors, but Phat Company decide to take the challenge… and by the looks of it, it has come out looking magnificent!

Isn’t she simply adorable!?

air brushing across her cheeks, beautiful blue eyes and a wonderful smile! I don’t believe anyone could say this isn’t cute!!

The hand in front of her face also looks so soft and touchable… I almost couldn’t help trying to grab for it to feel if it really was soft…

Everyone loves thighs!

This is something I personally love to see on a figure!! Most figures with skirts tend to focus on letting you see more of the character’s bottom – which is good and all, but if you have short pants or drawers like these, it instead brings out the thighs even more!!

The back of her knees also need special mention!!

The small little depressions behind the knee look perfect! I’m a big fan of knee socks, but this figure has shown me just how wonderful bare legs figures can be… her legs are simply beautiful!!

Don’t miss the flowers and pouch!

The vividly colored flowers and pouch covered up by her hair are both very finely detailed! Even those hard-to-see areas have had absolutely no compromise!

The patterns around her neck area and on the end of her sleeves are also a great rendition of the original illustration – and look just as stunning!

Her outfit is also so cute!!

The fasteners in the middle as well as the start of the skirt both make use of a shiny silver paint that gives the impression of a different material to the rest of the outfit.

The contrast between the loose sleeves and the tight waist area also creates a lovely effect, and then we still get to enjoy her fluttering skirt – everything really comes together to create a great outfit that also shows off her beautiful body line!

A background based on the illustration!

A special little background based on the key visual is also included and can be attached near the feet – it is planned to be removable too, so you’ll be able to choose whether or not you want it there!

But background aside… I have to bring everyone’s attention to her legs once again… just look at how perfect those knees look!! 😛

A close up on the tip of her staff!

The little jewel in the middle may be small, but it’s still made from transparent plastic to great effect! This staff really suits Meruru – it has a strong presence just like its owner!

Nendoroid Petite: New Japan Pro-Wrestling Set

W-What in the world?! (((ﾟДﾟ)))

There have always been things like a ping-pong table and darts in the GSC offices… but this is the first time I’ve seen a wrestling ring! It does look a tad too small to be used by people though… ^^;

A set of three Nendoroid Petite figures of three New Japan pro-Wrestlers – Hiroshi Tanahashi, Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan! The set also includes a Nendoroid Petite-sized wresting ring!

What’s happened to GSC?! Σ(ﾟДﾟ;）

The ‘Real Person Series’ (or so I’ve decided to call it) previously included Joy-san, Kamui-san and Linkin Park… but now we have a new entry to the series… and they’re pro-wrestlers!

This project came to life when Bushiroad’s president Kidani asked Aki to make figures out of the New Japan members! Aki made sure the request was met as soon as possible! 😛

Just to let everyone know… I know nothing about pro-wrestling!

I’m sorry, but please bear with me if I do or say something strange about your favorite member!! I’ll try to learn as I go along!! ^^;

First up, Hiroshi Tanahashi!

Let me start off my asking Google what the real Tanahashi-san looks like….

Ooh! He’s really good-looking!! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

His Nendoroid Petite version definitely adds a little cuteness, but all of his characteristics are visible on it too – the streaked hair looks just like his photo!! Plus even in Nendoroid Petite size you can see he has the right build to be a pro-wrestler!

Next up, Satoshi Kojima!

Kojima-san has a rather mischievous appearance to me! If you look close you can even see the ‘COZY’ letters on the plaster over his nose! I also love his soft-looking cheeks!!

And finally, Hiroyoshi Tenzan!

Tenzan-san looks really strong… I think it must be the ‘Tenzan Mask’ he is wearing that makes him look so formidable – and just look at the detail on the mask!! The mask can also be removed, as you’ll see shortly!

A championship belt is included, and the Tenzan Mask can be removed!

Tanahashi-san has the golden championship belt around his waist here, but you can attach it to any of the three of them!

Tenzan’s mask can also be removed to expose his real face! The gradient in his hair is really impressive, particularly for a Nendoroid Petite!

Half a wresting ring is included!

I’m sure a lot of people will be wondering why it comes as half a ring only… but there are reasons for this! Displaying them like this lets the figures stand out more and takes up much less space! (`･ω･´)

In other words, the half-size ring makes a really nice pedestal to display all three of the Nendoroids on together!

You can also create a full ring!

Placing two halves together creates one complete wrestling ring! It takes up a lot more space, but definitely creates a much more authentic display!

I’m sure many people might be wondering how you can put two halves together without messing up the sponsor logo in the middle… but don’t worry!

The reverse side of the center mat has the alternate side of the logo!
010The ring changed to a GSC Version!

There are actually going to be two different versions of this product – this one will is the Karuwaza Online Limited Version, which features an alternate ring and pants for each of the characters! ヽ(゜∀゜)ノ

Plus this version also comes with a GSC Belt as a bonus extra! The GSC belt definitely adds a little extra cuteness compared to the championship belt! 😛

The full wrestling ring!

While the Bushiroad ring is blue, the GSC ring is orange! The ring almost seems like self advertising now… 😛

I don’t think we’ll be seeing a pro-wrestling ring with many other products in the near future, so it’s definitely quite a unique extra!

Nendoroid Fate Testarossa: Blaze Form Edition

I posted this photo on the blog!

The thing is… this prototype was actually never put on display at WonFes! But now four months later she can finally have her debut on the blog!!

She has really come out looking absolutely adorable, so I think fans will really be able to look forward to this one!

From the popular ‘Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A’s’ comes a fully posable Nendoroid of Fate Testarossa! Be sure to display her together with the previously announced Nanoha Takamachi to recreate various battle scenes!

She’s a part of the fully posable ‘Edition’ series! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

The Nanoha series is well-known for its gorgeous and flashy action in battle scenes, and with the fully posable Nendoroids you can recreate all your favorite scenes perfectly – just in Nendoroid size! Of course, you can also come up with your very own original poses for her!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her body isn’t the only thing that is fully posable – even her cape can be moved around to the left and right! You can pose it completely spread out for some really dynamic poses!

Other small things like the black ribbon in her hair or small little ankle joints can also be moved around, allowing you to craft amazingly customized poses!

Bardiche: Assault Zanber Form!

You can’t have Fate without her trusty intelligent device, Bardiche! The previously released normal Nendoroid Fate came with Bardiche in Axe form and Scythe form, so this time he was included in Zanber Form instead!

But weapons aside, isn’t she just adorable?!

The Nendoroid size really creates such a cute and unique balance!

A pose for the shouting expression!

This is my attempt at a mid-air pose!
It came out quite nicely, if I do say so myself!

This pose actually has her upper body in the reverse direction of her lower body, but that made quite a nice dynamic pose! Making your very own poses like this is really one of the best things about fully posable Nendoroids!

Closed-eyes and cape removed!

What a peaceful expression… it makes me feel all relaxed just by looking at it! Fate-chan is so cute!! The cape can be removed too… I’m really not sure how I’d want to display her! She looks great in so many different poses!

I’ve been focusing on the posability, but another thing to notice is the different outfit used in the movie version of the series – the sculpting and paintwork are all so detailed! Just look at the belt buckle or the triangle at the tip of the shoes – they are simply outstanding!

Displayed together with Nanoha!

Many of the parts and expressions of Nendoroid Nanoha Takamachi : Exelion Mode Edition had been sent off to China, but I managed to pull together enough parts to pose her together with Fate!

As was announced awhile back, Nanoha’s releasd date has unfortunately been delayed until December – apologies to anyone who was looking forward to getting her this month!

She’ll be ready shortly, so please be patient just a little while longer!

Sega has been hard at work preparing the PS3 version of Hatsune Miku Project Diva F for today!

The first live play-test in the world!

This is going to be a lot of fun!! Plus I also hear we’ll have someone from Famitsu at the broadcast as well!!

Maybe I’ll be picked to be the very first person to test the game, that would be incredible! This really isn’t the right time to be a host of a the show, I want to be the tester!! There will be a ton of brand new information too, so if you’re a fan of the game don’t forget to tune in!

– FamilyMart Time –  

This Winter there will be another FamilyMart x Hatsune Miku Project! A detailed campaign report!

In Summer the FamilyMart x Hatsune Miku projecy was a huge sensation! I ended up going to FamilyMart much more often myself… 😛

Perhaps that means we’ll be finding out what special food, snacks and goods will be coming to FamilyMart this Winter?!

Ooh! This is also super exiting!! The specials they had on during Summer were wonderful! I wonder if Miku Dayo’s food of choice will be making appearance…?

Revealing all the prizes for the GSC Lottery!

In Summer we helped out the Miku Lottery with a 1/8th scale FamilyMart Miku and Nendoroid FamilyMart Miku, but this Winter we’ve decided to create a full GSC lottery instead!

From Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse:
Nendoroid Yui Takamura!

From the popular anime series which is currently airing, ‘Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse’ comes a Nendoroid of the First Lieutenant of the Imperial Guard, Yui Takamura, wearing her armored TSF pilot outfit! You can recreate all sorts of scenes ranging from her everyday life to impressive combat scenes!

The BETA soldier is also outstanding quality, even in chibi size!!

His face actually looks quite cute… 😛 It’s quite hard to see on these photos, but there is even a slight gradient used on his feet!

The BETA soldier really shouldn’t be getting all the attention!

Yui’s armored TSF pilot outfit is a perfect Nendoroid-sized rendition, and it’s so incredibly detailed! Her hair sticking out slightly on the sides is also faithfully recreated in Nendoroid size, and makes her look cute from any angle!

First up, a saluting pose!

She comes with both a right arm and a left hand part to pose her in a formal saluting pose as you’d expect from someone brought up in a samurai family!

When I look at this picture it really seems like she is saluting me which makes me feel nervous for some reason… 😛

The arms and wrists on the BETA soldier are also articulated! It almost looks like he is saluting together with Yui, which ended up looking a lot cuter than I expected

Facing off against the BETA with a Japanese sword!

The Japanese sword are the pride of the Imperial Guard, and Yui comes with special right arm parts to wield one! By switching out to a different arm parts you also have a couple of different posing options – the bent arm makes her look ready to strike, while the straight arm makes it look like she is swinging the sword downward!

Fighting with a blood-stained expression and pistol!

Yui has been injured in combat! It’s quite a painful sight, but it’s an expression that definitely suits the Muv-Luv universe!

Her eye color actually matches a certain magical girl’s eye color quite nicely… I wanted to try this expression on her, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it in the end… it looks too painful! ・゜・(つД｀)・

A pot filled with meat and potato stew!

It would seem the BETA soldier is very keen to get some… he must know that Yui makes a delicious meat and potato stew! The first time I saw the BETA I thought those bumps on the side of him were a little strange… but I’ve somehow really come to like them now.

She also comes with an embarrassed expression! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

This expression shows off a bit more of her cute, softer side!

Nendoroid Dead Master: TV ANIMATION Ver.

Is that… BRS Arcana!?

In last week’s blog I let everyone know about the new BRS social game – it’s title is ‘Black Rock Shooter Arcana’!

The game is up and ready to be played as of today! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

I can’t wait to try it out for myself… but before that I want to review this lovely new Nendoroid for everyone!

From the TV ANIMATION BLACK ROCK SHOOTER:
Nendoroid Dead Master: TV ANIMATION Ver.!

From the popular Black Rock Shooter anime series with Blu-ray and DVDs already up for order comes a figure of BRS’s rival, Dead Master, in her new design used in the anime series. She also comes with her huge weapon, the ‘Dead Scythe’ so you can pose her in dynamic poses and action scenes from the series!

That’s not to say the original version isn’t lovely, but the details on her sleeves and petticoat on this version are simply outstanding! She also comes with a variety of parts to play with, so let’s take a good look at them!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her sexy outfit with an open back is also a part of the anime version’s design!

The other thing I think is very noticeable is the green that makes up Dead Master’s image color. It’s a lovely fluorescent green that really looks pretty when you see it on the prototype – I just don’t feel that the photos do it justice though… you need to see it in person!

Her giant weapon, ‘Dead Scythe’!

Dead Master-chan is well-known to wield this frightening weapon, and the design on it has also been altered in this version! The blade area has a metallic look to it that makes it look gorgeous!

She can also hold the scythe behind her!

By having her hold it horizontally with her left hand you can create a rather unique pose with the scythe behind her back! The wrists can be rotated, so you can also have the blade pointing forward!

Her veil can also be removed!

She never actually removed the veil in the series, however the figure gives you the option to display her exactly how you want to see her! There are so many different ways to enjoy Dead Master-chan!

The veil is made from semi-transparent plastic which was praised a lot by the other staff members around the GSC offices!

Her throne is also included!

This is a really incredible extra part!!

The multi-layered throne can be used as a pedestal to display Dead Master-chan! It’s so big that it’s almost like getting an entire extra Nendoroid!!

Along with the throne, she also comes with special lower body parts that allow her to sit on the throne! Just look at the way she is looking down upon all of us… it’s wonderful!!

The back of the throne looks like this!

The reverse side is just as impressively sculpted as the front!

The very back of the chair has a very interesting design of two of Dead Master-chan’s horns crossing over each other, not to mention the cute little tail that lays at the back of the chair on the floor! Even these small details that most people would probably never even notice are so finely detailed!

Bonus Shot!!

This really makes her look like a true shut-in! 😛

I also got figma Kaiji to sit on the throne… any character without too much breadth should be able to sit on it! It’s a special throne that gives anybody who sits on it a slightly more evil ambiance. ^^;

Shuu-chan is using his special move… apparently…

It looks more like he’s blocking up the passageway in the GSC offices… But which character’s special attack is he trying to recreate here?

The answer is in the prototype that I’ll be taking a look at today!

Nendoroid Akiho Senomiya

From ‘ROBOTICS;NOTES’, the third game in 5pb’s scientific adventure series, comes a Nendoroid of the robotics club chairman, Akiho Senomiya! You can display her in many popular poses from the game as well as poses that really show off her cheerful attitude! You’ll also be able to change her outfit using an AR application!

Hmm? Change her outfit using an AR application? It would seem Shuu-chan has been working on some other things besides just figures! I’m looking forward to seeing this…

This is how she looks from the back!

Akiho’s big, fluffy-looking ponytail as well as the braids on the inside of the ponytail have both been sculpted beautifully! The pouch on her hips that shows that she is the chairman of the robotics club is also very cute!

Not to mention that Tanegashi Machine 3 is included! It’s so cute!

I’ll have him playing around in the background of my photos, so don’t forget to take a look at him too!

Akiho is always so full of energy, and this dynamic pose really gets that across nicely! You need to twist her hips quite a lot to get her looking like this!

She is wearing a fairly simple looking school uniform, but even so, the sculpting of the blouse and skirt also have a dynamic feeling to them that makes poses like this look great!

Display her in poses from the game!

Using the smiling expression and bent arm you can pose her like this!

Although the anime is currently airing on Fuji TV’s noitamina block, I’m sure many of you know that ROBOTIC;NOTES was originally an Xbox360 and PS3 game – this was one of the poses that Akiho took in the game! I really love posing girl’s with hands on their hips – it looks so cute!

Akiho also comes with her showy glasses!(*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

This is to allow you to pose her reciting the famous line of a certain other anime character! She doesn’t actually wear the glasses, you have her hold them in front of her face as you can see here!

A determined expression and Poke-com!

If there is one thing that has to be included with Robotic;Notes figures, it would have to be this Poke-com! Akiho comes with an extra arm part holding the Poke-com, which even has the screen looking exactly like it did in the game!

Plus with the bent leg parts, you can display her performing maintenance on Tanegashi Machine 3! (・ω・)ﾉ

You can also use the bent legs with any other poses as well! Shuu-chan was the head of planning for this project… he was also the planner for Nendoroid Kanna Tanigawa… a crawling pose and then a kneeling pose… I guess this is showing just what kind of poses Shuu-chan likes to see… 😛

“Tanegashi Accel Impact!”

This is Tanegashi Machine 3’s special move, where he rolls around on the wheels attached to his back!! The pose Shuu-chan was making at the start of this blog was an attempt to mimic this pose!

It doesn’t actually move, but the arms, legs and neck are all articulated and he comes with his own little stand, so you do have quite a lot of ways to display the little robot as well!

figma Black Gold Saw: TV ANIMATION ver.

A messy desk means a messy mind… it also means there are lots of documents and things to blur out in photos!
Nitouhei is normally a very easygoing guy, but if it’s needed he’ll work late into the night – I think I’ll reward his hard work by playing with that prototype he left on his desk!

From the anime series ‘Black Rock Shooter’ comes a figma of Saya Irino’s other self, Black Gold Saw! She comes with a standard expression, a glaring expression and the joyful expression she sometimes shows while fighting. Her weapon of choice, ‘Kingsaw’, is also included.

I think that every time I see a new figma from the BRS series, it reaches a whole new level of quality! The parts I liked the most I’ll highlight a little further into this blog, so read on if you’re interested!

This is how she looks from the back!
The gradient on her hair looks wonderful!!
The figma series are also fully articulated – you’ll notice that softer materials are used in certain areas to ensure that they don’t get in the way of posing, meaning that you can easily place them in all of your favorite poses from the series!

This gives you a feel for her size!
She is actually a little bit bigger compared to most other figmas. Even at this size the amount of detail that has gone into the sculpting is incredible!!

Kingsaw’s design changed in the anime!
This version has a lot more jagged teeth along the edge and makes her look a lot more threatening… it’s also absolutely gigantic! Posing her holding Kingsaw suddenly gives her a whole new presence that looks absolutely amazing!
Plus she also comes with three different expressions!
This is the ‘joyful’ expression she sometimes has when fighting!
Seeing someone with a weapon like that and a smile on their face gives me shivers down my spine… 😛

It’s so much fun to pose her!
The sculpting is amazing that no matter how you pose her she seems to look incredible! There are a couple of articulated figures that limit your ability to pose quite a lot – it really feels great to be able to pose her however you like!

Just look at this sexy body!
She’s a palm-sized figure, but still fully articulated and even keeps a really sexy appearance! Even with a zoomed in photo like this, she still looks just as great as a scale figure!

You can see even more than you might have bargained for! Max Factory really do give the most amazing detail to the smallest of things, which is what I love about them!

It’s called ‘Black Rock Shooter Arcana’!
When you started the ‘Arcana’ application, a mysterious black haired girl was waiting for you…

Inside the popular communication tool known as ‘Rails’ you’ll find a ‘Rail friend’, who will accompany you on a number of quests. While investigating these quests you’ll come across a number of mysteries such as the black haired girl, the Tarot and the Arcana…
I’m not sure if it means the actual application, or if there is an application inside the game called ‘Arcana’. But anyway, it seems like a game that mixes around gaming elements with elements from the real world! I’m very interested to see what exactly these ‘quests’ are!

Painting a Nendoroid Expression Part 4: Preparing to Apply Color

Nendoroid Expression Painting: Day Four!

Today I’ll be borrowing a room from the production team!!

I’ve been working at my own desk up until this point, but the fumes from the thinner have been affecting me more than I expected, so I decided to move to a room that’s designed for things like this!

It means I’ll be working around a number of strange machines and tools, but I don’t mind confined areas, especially when I can get down to work on something I enjoy! (`・ω・´)

This is where we left off last time!

I had just finished the borders of the two eyes! I actually made a few more alterations after I was done with the previous blog… 😛

This is so much fun!

I had to keep working until I thought it was the absolute best I could do!

Soak a bud in water and clean off unwanted marks!

After a number of changes the paint tends to cling onto the face a bit, but you can just use some water (not thinner) on a cotton bud to clear away the unwanted paint.

You’ll probably be quite surprised as to how dirty it can get while you’re working on it. This photo is actually Hiro-san cleaning it up for me – but I am doing all the actual paintwork myself! (`・ω・´)

Now it’s time to move onto the next step!

At the moment we have enamel paint on top of lacquer paint (1). Now I’ll be spraying on a thin layer of clear lacquer to ‘save’ the borders!

By doing that, the paint at (2) will not cause any problems with the painted lines at (1)!ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

Lacquer clear, lacquer thinner and an airbrush!

These are all available at model stores – although I’m sure many of you are worried about how hard it will be to use the airbrush…

A spray can that does the same job!

You can use this just as it is, so you don’t need to go through the effort of getting the airbrush ready! As a newcomer to all this, I think it’ll be much better for me to use the easier option…

Secure the expression with a clip!

Make sure the clip is securely in place with some elastic bands or tape. I’m borrowing a clip normally used to apply surfacer, that’s the only reason it looks all gray – so don’t worry about that.

Right, let’s get started!!!

I’ve spent about 20 hours painting these lines on, so I’m really nervous now… I don’t want to mess the whole thing up now!

There is a technique to the spraying!

・ Don’t press the sprayer down too hard! Just half way is fine!
・ Hold it about 20cm away and spray, moving left and right 2~3 times!
・ Make sure to cover it completely, and also try to ensure it is evenly distributed!

If you spray too close you’ll end up applying too much, so make sure you are far enough away from the expression when spraying! (Although, if you’re too far it won’t coat properly at all, so you really need to try and find the perfect place.)

You can’t just spray it all quickly at once, or else the enamel paint will dissolve! Σ(ﾟДﾟ;）

If you remember from before, the eye borders are made with enamel paint, and lacquer will cause it to dissolve. But to help avoid this…

Dry with a hair drier after each layer!

Repeat this process about three times!

You don’t finish the coating all at once, but instead repeat this spray/dry process a number of times. By doing this, you can avoid having the eye borders dissolve from the strength of the lacquer!

This is an example of a failure!

I was scared to try on Miku first so I tested the distance I should be spraying at on this expression first. This example only used a single coat of of lacquer clear, but because of that the coating was too thin and the enamel thinner caused the eye borders to dissolve…

You can’t spray on too much, and you can’t spray on too little… it’s a very fine balance that requires a great amount of care!

Ooh! I think I’ve managed to get it right!! Yay!! Now I’ve got my layer of lacquer on top of the eye borders!

Of course that means I can no longer change the borders! (((ﾟДﾟ)))

Mixing the color for the white of the eyes!

Oda-P said I could just use white, but I decided I wanted to mix a little bit of blue in anyway! (I guess we’ll find out if it was a good idea later…)

Painting the white of the eyes!

Of course with my amateur skills I didn’t manage to paint them neatly within the borders…

The white here is clearly going over the borders – but this is exactly why we sprayed the lacquer clear on top of them! Now we can simply use enamel thinner to clean up the areas where the white is crossing the borders, and it won’t affect the eye borders at all thanks to the layer of lacquer.

Complete!!!

I’m finally getting somewhere with my expression!! It’s so much fun to slowly but surely make progress like this!!

Although as I paint the color inside, the differences between the two sides becomes more and more clear… (‘A`)

In fact it already looks completely unsymmetrical…

But this is the best I can do right now, and I’ll be sure to see it all the way through!

I’ve really had a lot of support from all the sculptors here at GSC, and I’m very grateful for all their advice and help! If there was anything I didn’t understand they would quickly come to my rescue and give me some directions when I was worried about something.

I hope that everyone reading through these posts is enjoying them as much as I’ve been enjoying trying to do this myself, and I’ll be continuing this special corner the next time I have some free time!

Based on the social game released by Mobage, ‘IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls’ comes a set of cute chibi figures based on illustrations by Kengou Yakumo – the first in a new series of figures by Phat Company called the ‘Minicchu’ series. Put together your very own miniature idol unit with your favorite idols!

They’re so cute!!

Phat Company has released something absolutely incredible this time around! I’ll definitely be buying a set for myself, there is no way I could resist these!

They’re so lovely I almost feel like just ending this blog now and playing with the prototypes all day long… another hard day at work! 😛

This is how the look from the back!

You can easily make out who is who just by looking at the hairstyles!

There are a total of eight to collect, including one secret figure!

I think many will be trying to guess who the secret character is, but there are many idols in the game that it’s actually quite difficult to guess!

Let’s take a closer look at the idols!

First up, Kirari Moroboshi!

Each of the idols in IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls has a certain type – either cute, cool or passion. Both the Minicchu figures here as well as the Nendoroid Petites coming from GSC have a nice balance of the different types! Kirari here is a ‘passion’ type!

Each of the idols also comes in a six different rarities in the game – there is ‘Normal’, ‘Normal+’, ‘Rare’, ‘Rare+’, ‘S-Rare’ and ‘S-Rare+’. The characters have different outfits depending on which rarity you have!

This series makes use of outfits from the ‘Normal’ and ‘Rare’ cards!

There are two more passion types:
Natalia and Nina Ichihara!

Natalia is an idol from Brazil known for her tanned skin and Nina Ichihara is a nine year old idol who wears cute animal outfits – here she is wearing the fluffy sheep outfit from the ‘Rare’ card. I always thought the card was cute, but she looks even cuter in figure form!

Next up, the cute-types:
Anzu Futaba and Kanako Mimura!

Anzu-chan became a meme in the Japanese Internet as ‘AnzuChang’, which was actually how I first found out about the game! Even though the figure is so tiny, you can still easily make out the writing on her shirt which reads ‘If you work, you lose’ – it really gets her lazy personality across to everyone! Her long twintails are also lovely!!

Kanako-san is based on the ‘Normal’ card which features an illustration that shows off her great body! Just as with the illustration, you can see her arms are holding up her very impressive bust! Wonderful!!

Shuu-chan from the planning team really loves Kanako, and is trying to make all of his front members Kanako in the game! 😛

Finally, the cool-types:
Kaede Takagaki and Rin Shibuya!

Kaede has lovely hair that curls in at the ends as well as two different colored eyes – the figure is based on the ‘Rare’ card! The unique color of her hair was adjusted multiple times with lots of input from the publishers to ensure it came out perfectly! The sculpting also manages to keep the wonderfully mysterious aura about her!

Bonus Shot!

The prototypes all came in this lovely looking case! Opening it up looked so colorful and cute that I had to take a picture! I feel like I should make my own transparent case to carry around my favorite figures too! （*´∀｀*）
