Ram (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-)

I don’t have any specific recipe that I’m good at… I often take a look at recipes online and can generally follow them without trouble, but I’ve never had a recipe that I thought I could make exceptionally well…

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at the…

1/7th Scale Ram!♡

From the popular anime series ‘Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-‘ comes a 1/7th scale figure of the older of the twin maids that serve at the Roswaal mansion – Ram! The figure is based on the 2nd volume of the Blu-ray/DVD jacket cover for the series and features Ram wearing her characteristic maid outfit while holding a deck brush out in her right hand.

Ram is in a more resolute pose when compared to Rem, but her soft-looking lady-like figure has also been faithfully preserved on the figure for fans to enjoy! The base of the figure is specially designed to link together with that of the previously announced 1/7th scale figure of Rem to display the twin sisters together! Be sure to display Ram together with her beloved Rem!

“I am Rem’s older sister. That is one thing that can never be taken from me.”

From Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- comes a 1/7th scale figure of the older of the twin maids: Ram!

She has been posed in an imposing pose holding a deck brush out with her one hand! The confidence in her pose is almost enough to make you think that she is better at cooking, laundry, cleaning and sewing… when the truth of the matter is that title goes to her younger sister Rem!

The unique tailcoat-style design of her maid outfit has been sculpted beautifully, with the frills around her neck, sleeves and the skirt area all individually sculpted for amazing detail! (*´ｪ`*)

▲ The creases on her skirt are also lovely!

But it’s not just the maid outfit that looks amazing…

The opening on her back gives you a lovely look at her shoulder blades…

From the front her modest bosom looks so very soft! Plus those armpits!

The tight-fitting socks cover up most of the skin on her legs, but you can still easily make out the shapes of the area behind her knees thanks to the amazing sculptwork! You need to slide your finger along the legs to really appreciate the various little ups and downs that have been captured so perfectly! ヽ(●´Д｀●)ﾉ

Let’s move on to her facial expression…

Those downward facing eyebrows and sullen expression… the pose captures Ram’s huffy personality at the start of the series!

I can just imagine her lashing out with some rather harsh words when looking at this expression! As you can see from the photo above, the eye underneath her hair has of course been painted in just as much detail as all the fully visible areas!

Another really well sculpted part is the soft-looking bristles of the deck brush!

▲ It really looks like it has some water absorbed in the bristles!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the 1/8th scale…

Murakumo Kai-II!

From the popular browser game ‘Kantai Collection -KanColle-‘ comes a new addition to Good Smile Company and Max Factory’s “Wonderful Hobby Selection” series of top quality figures – the fifth Fubuki-class special destroyer, Murakumo in her Kai-II form!

The figure has taken care to capture Murakumo’s charm as faithfully as possible – from her lovely long legs wearing dark stockings all the way up to the impressive long hair flowing behind her. Her 12.7cm twin high-angle gun mounts as well as the sharp appearance of the ship parts above her head have also all been faithfully included! Be sure to add the determined Murakumo Kai-II to your collection!

The latest in the Wonderful Hobby Selection from Max Factory comes a lovely 1/8th scale figure of the fifth Fubuki-class special destroyer: Murakumo in her Kai-II form!

The gentle curves of her body and the contrasting sharp appearance of her ship parts make for a figure filled with so many highlights!! ヽ(*´Д｀*)ﾉ

From the back you can see the incredible dynamic sculpt of her hair as it flows behind her!

The pose is based on her standard Kai-II illustration from the game! She stands on one leg in a rather simple pose, but the dynamic appearance of her hair makes it look like the whole figure is dashing forward! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

But anyway, let’s get back to Murakumo Kai-II! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟヽ三ﾉﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

A lovely determined smile and cute eyes with sharp corners makes for an adorable expression, and her body is absolutely stunning!! (/ω＼)

The way the outfit sticks so closely to the shape of her stomach and the detail of the creases formed from that really shows the quality of the sculpt! You get a feel for the softness of her bare skin even though it is all covered up!!

Also note the collarbone!! It also looks rather impressive!

The tights covering her legs are also gorgeous with a lovely glossy look!

The thing to note here is that the slimmer parts of her legs have a darker appearance while the thicker areas are light as the fabric stretches! ★

Her rather characteristic loafer shoes also have a lovely texture as well as a mechanical appearance to them!!

Areas such as beneath her shoes were obviously never visible on the original illustration, but they have been specially thought out and sculpted for the figure!

The same thing goes for the area underneath her mini-skirt….! I really can’t go into much detail but let me just say that the artisan’s at Max Factory really know how to capture the feeling of different fabrics!! Be sure to take a nice close look once she joins your collection!!! I can’t say anything more than that!!

Let’s go back to the her hair again for a second! ♪

I already touched on the movement, but there is another thing about this hair that really stands out – the paintwork on the upper areas is a different color to that of the underside!! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

The underside has a slightly lighter blue to it that not only brings out the three dimensional feel of the figure but also adds an extra light and bouncy feeling to the hair as it flows behind her! ♪

The little bunches of hair tied up to the sides of her face are also faithfully included on the figure – and in lovely detail too!

Be sure to take a nice close look once she joins your collection! ♥

Last but not least, let’s take a look at the ship parts! ヽ(ﾟ◇ﾟ )ﾉ

Just look at the amount of detail!!

They are not only detailed, but also can be moved around spun around for different nuances when posing!!

Scale figures generally focus on the details more than the playability, but it’s always nice to have these moving parts for a little extra fun as well!! It’s the little things that all come together to create an absolutely stunning product! ♥

Nendoroid More: Dress Up Suits

Hello everyone!! Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

AnimeJapan has come to an end! I hope everyone who was able to attend the event enjoyed it!! Now that March is coming to an end and Spring is on the way, it’s time to start planning some cherry blossom viewing… although it’s still rather cold! I hope they manage to bloom soon!!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid More: Dress Up Suits!

The Nendoroid More series was created to make Nendoroids even more enjoyable, and the fifth addition to the “Dress Up” series is here to do just that – Dress Up Suits!

The line-up includes a black suit and an office uniform for female characters, as well as a black suit, grey vest and white shirt for male characters – plus there is one secret design to look out for! The secret design also comes with a little accessory to help create some interesting stories between your Nendoroids! Be sure to add the stylish suits to your collection!!

The expression above was once of the stickers that could be used on the blank face plate parts that were included with Nendoroid Karamatsu!

Nendoroid Emilia (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-)

This weekend is AnimeJapan! We will be at the event with all sorts of interesting activities and products on sale, so be sure to stop by!

But anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Emilia!

From the anime series ‘Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the half-elf heroine, Emilia! Her characteristic outfit has been faithfully converted into cute Nendoroid size, and she comes with three face plates including a standard expression, an angry expression as well a crying expression based on the scene from the final episode.

Optional parts include the robe she used to hide her identity as well as magic effect parts to display her casting her water magic. The spirit Pack is of course also included to display by her side! Be sure to display her with Nendoroid Rem and Nendoroid Ram and recreate your favorite scenes from the series!

“Emilia-tan is such an angel!”

A Nendoroid of the beautiful half-elf who just can’t he honest with herself – Emilia!! The unique pattern of her gentle light purple eyes, lovely long silver hair and even the cute hair accessories have all been faithfully preserved in Nendoroid size! ♥

The details of her elegant white and purple outfit are also lovely, with the frills of her skirt and around her collar beautifully sculpted!

The little end part of her hair that is tied up is actually a separate part connected with a simple joint, allowing you to move it around to match different nuances with your posing!

▲ The movement is so slight, but so cute!

Of course you can’t have Emilia without a certain spirit by her side! Which means that Pack is also included to display by her side!! ヽ(●´Д｀●)ﾉ

His lovely kitty appearance has been faithfully converted into Nendoroid size to match up with Emilia, and both his neck and tail are fitted with joints for slight little changes in pose!

Emilia also comes with a selection of water magic effect parts!

These parts can be used with the standard expression for a more gentle looking pose, or instead used with the angry expression below for a more serious battle scene!

The change from the gentle look on the standard face to the much more serious, confident look on this expression is captured really nicely!

There are a total of three water magic effect parts!

But perhaps the most amazing part…

The robe she used to hide her identity is also included in Nendoroid size!! (∩・∀・)∩

Those cute bunny-like ears make for such an adorable design!! Just look at the cute little stitching at the bottom of the ears!! This allows you to recreate even more scenes from the series!

Last but not least we move on to her third face plate…

A crying expression with a smile! (｀；ω；´)

This expression is based on the final episode from the anime series… it really brings back some emotional memories!

Anyway, as you can see Emilia comes with all sorts of optional parts and face plates to help bring out her character and create all sorts of poses from the series as well as all-original poses! ♥

Nendoroid Ruby Kurosawa (LoveLive! Sunshine!!)

I always mess up what day of the week it is after a long weekend! It doesn’t feel like Tuesday today at all! Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Ruby Kurosawa!

From the anime series ‘LoveLive!Sunshine!!’ comes a Nendoroid of the Aqours member Ruby Kurosawa wearing her outfit from the song ‘Aozora Jumping Heart’! She comes with both a sparkling smile as well as a troubled expression.

A selection of different parts are also included which allow you to pose her in different dance poses from the opening theme of the anime series! Be sure to enjoy her together with the other members of Aqours! ♪

The clasps on her suspenders make use of a metallic paint to capture the texture nicely! ☆

Nendoroid Tracer: Classic Skin Edition (Overwatch)

It’s starting to warm up here in Japan but it’s still rather chilly for this time of year! I hope the cherry blossoms bloom soon!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Tracer: Classic Skin Edition!

From the globally popular multiplayer first-person shooter ‘Overwatch’ comes a Nendoroid of Tracer! The Nendoroid comes complete with a variety of optional parts to add effects for her abilities, interchangeable bent legs, and hair options that can cover up her eyes to recreate her iconic poses from the game!

Also included are Tracer’s trademark pulse pistols, along with open hand parts to pose her as without her guns, like when she activates her recall ability. Equip her pulse bomb to pose Tracer activating her ultimate ability! The Nendoroid is fully articulated, allowing her to be posed in many different ways, and has been carefully sculpted and tuned to ensure that the joints do not stand out, keeping Tracer’s unique appearance in tact. Be sure to add the first of the Overwatch Nendoroid series to your collection!

From the multiplayer first-person shooter that has become popular all over the world ‘Overwatch’ comes the first Nendoroid from the series: Tracer!!

When she was announced back in February it was quite the surprise announcement, so I’m sure many fans were quite excited!! (；・`ω・´)

From her trademark orange-tinted goggles to the slightly boyish hair style with its soft and bouncy appearance on top have all been faithfully converted into Nendoroid size! ♪

The details on her outfit have also been carefully sculpted, including the unique open collar area as well as her rolled-up sleeves! There are so many aspects that make her so unique as a Nendoroid!

The difference in textures between the various parts of the figure are reproduced with glossy and matte paints to bring out the shine on certain areas! ☆

Another thing to note is that Nendoroid Tracer is a fully articulated Nendoroid with flexible joints in her elbows, knees and more allowing for all sorts of posing opportunities! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟヽ三ﾉﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

Perhaps the best thing about this is that even though she is so highly articulated she has also been very carefully sculpted and tuned to ensure that the joints do not stand out but still keep her unique appearance in tact!

Nendoroid Tracer comes with both the lovely innocent smiling face you can see above, while the second is a more relaxed smile which you can see below!

You may have also noticed there are holes on her hands in the photo above – this is in fact so that you can pose her with her hands open while still holding her pulse pistols as if she had just activated her recall ability!!

On that note, she also of course comes complete with her Pulse Pistols! Not only that, but her Pulse Bomb ultimate is also included for even more fun!!

She also comes with effect parts to recreate her blink ability which are not shown in my photos, but you can find them on the official product page!

Another fun little feature is that her front hair is attached with a joint which means…

You can pose her blowing her hair out of her eyes like she does in her heroic highlight intro! The face plate with her mouth in a blowing position is also included! ♥

The sculpt of her lips is quite different to most Nendoroids – it has a more defined appearance to better suit the original design! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”

Nendoroid Arisa Ichigaya (BanG Dream!)

Today’s Main Feature!

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Arisa Ichigaya!

From the anime series BanG Dream! comes a Nendoroid of Poppin’Party’s keyboardist, Arisa Ichigaya! She comes with three face plates including a standard expression, a smiling expression as well as a bit of an embarrassed angry expression.

Optional parts include her keyboard allowing you to display her performing live, as well as a keyboard case allowing you to display her on the way to and from practice. Be sure to display her with the previously announced Nendoroid Kasumi Toyama and recreate all sorts of different situations in Nendoroid size!

The Poppin’Party keyboardist who isn’t very honest with her self and tends to have a bit of a sharp tongue: Arisa Ichigaya is joining the Nendoroids!! ♥

She is the second Nendoroid from BanG Dream! following on from the previously announced Nendoroid Kasumi Toyama!

But let’s get back to Arisa for now!

The lovely little twirls of her twin-tails have been captured so beautifully in Nendoroid size, and both sides are connected with a joint allowing for various different nuances when posing! ♪

Her school uniform also looks lovely with the pleated skirt and golden buttons… such lovely attention to detail really makes her a treat for the eyes! Plus we can’t ignore the fact that even in Nendoroid size her bosom is rather impressive!! (●‘∀‘●)ﾉ”

Arisa also of course comes with her keyboard, and as you can see the various keys and adjustment dials have all been included for a lovely rendition!

▲ It has been shrunk down to Nendoroid size, but there is still a ton of detail!

Even the back has a logo and name for a realistic design! (∩・∀・)∩

▲ A pointing hand part allows for her to reach out to her fans during a concert!

She also comes with a keyboard case which she can carry on her back!

The puffed-up look of the expression makes her look so cute, if maybe a little immature!

Nendoroid Atsuko Kagari (Little Witch Academia)

Even if I could use magic I don’t think I would ever be able to ride on a broom. Just the other day one of my friends even told me they don’t think I’d be able to float more than a few inches off the ground…

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Atsuko Kagari!

From the anime series ‘Little Witch Academia’ comes a Nendoroid of the witch apprentice who looks up to Shiny Chariot – Atsuko Kagari! She comes with three face plates including a cheerful smiling expression, an expression with sparkling eyes for when she gets excited about magic as well as a flustered expression that captures her personality perfectly!

Optional parts include her staff, broom and the Shiny Rod, and she even comes with rabbit ears to recreate the scene where she failed to cast transformation magic. Be sure to add the always excited and cheerful Akko to your Nendoroid collection!

“My magic is a heart that has faith!!”

A Nendoroid of the character who saw a show by Shiny Chariot which made her decide to become a witch – Atsuko Kagari, perhaps better known as Akko!! ♥

Her eyes filled with curiosity, lovely smile and semi-long hairstyle with cute bangs have all been faithfully converted into Nendoroid size! Her Luna Nova Academy uniform has also been faithfully preserved in lovely detail for fans to enjoy!!

In her hand she can be seen holding her magic wand, but the wand can also be posed holding another item that has to be included with any witch! ヽ(●´Д｀●)ﾉ

Which is of course her broom!!

In addition, this photo also shows off the first of her alternate face plates which is a face with sparkling eyes! This captures Akko when she gets all excited before flying magic classes!! ♡

Plus as you may have noticed, her witch hat can also be removed allowing for even more posing opportunities! Once the hat is removed the hair at the back can be attached with a ball joint allowing you to move it around for different nuances!

She can also be posed flying on the broom!

Which brings us to her third face plate – a flustered expression perfect for when she makes mistakes in her magic! Another part which is perfect with this face plate is…

Akko comes with bunny ears that slip in-between her front and back hair parts which allow you to display her not quite transforming correctly with the animal metamorphosis spell! They might even fir on certain other characters for even more fun possibilities! (∩・∀・)∩

Akko is so straightforward and honest with her feelings and they really come out on the Nendoroid! You can just imagine her talking about Shining Chariot with this lovely sparkling smile on her face as she holds up the Shining Rod with pride!!

Nendoroid Ushio Kai-II (Kantai Collection -KanColle-)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Ushio Kai-II!

From the popular browser game ‘Kantai Collection -KanColle-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the 10th Ayanami-class destroyer in her upgraded form – Ushio Kai-II! She comes with three face plates including a standard expression as well as an uneasy expression and a crying expression that both match up with her apprehensive personality.

Her ship parts, camouflage patterns, turrets and even the little animal print on the belts around her legs have all been faithfully captured in Nendoroid size! She also comes with effect parts to display her firing her turrets and torpedoes allowing you to pose her in battle scenes! A bag filled with roasted sweet potato is also included to bring out the feeling from her limited Autumn illustration in the game! Be sure to add Nendoroid Ushio Kai-II to your collection and give her the confidence she needs to succeed!

The 10th Ayanami-class destroyer in her upgraded form is joining the Nendoroids! Her cute sailor uniform, headband, twirl in her hair, gentle eyes and of course her ship parts have all been faithfully converted into Nendoroid size!

▲ The little ship parts around the edges of her skirt are also included!

TThis is how she looks from the back! ♪

The camouflage patterns on her ship parts as well as the belts around her legs have all been preserved in Nendoroid size! She is a little work of art!

Along with all these details and ship parts she also comes with two lovely alternate face plates! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

The first of which is this uneasy expression!

I can just imagine her whispering “I-I’ve found an enemy ship…“

The expression really brings out her personality nicely, and those sunken eyebrows make me wish I could jump to her side and protect her!

If you combine this expression with the turret and torpedo firing effect parts you can pose her in battle against her enemy with a bit of a worried look on her face! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟヽ三ﾉﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

▲ From this angle you can see the little bunny mark on her turret!

Plus as I’m sure you’ve noticed the barrels on the hand-hold turret can be moved around to better match your poses!

Moving onto her third face plate…

A crying expression! (/ω＼)

Maybe not quite crying… but she really looks like she is about to burst into tears!!! It’s just too adorable!!

In the pose above she is also crossing her arms over her chest similar to the way she looks in her half-damaged illustration, which is actually where this expression originally comes from!! Somehow it makes me feel like I’m doing something to her that I shouldn’t be doing…

If you move the arms out of the way not only do you get to see her chest a little better and you’ll also notice that there is a nice gap between her top and her skirt for a little peek at her belly button!

▲ Even as a Nendoroid she has rather impressive curves!

The figure is so much fun to look around from all sorts of different angles! Even if she is looking at me about to burst into tears which I do feel a little bad about!!

Plus as always with the KanColle Nendoroids she also comes with food parts! This time around its a bag of roasted sweet potatoes! ♥

Hatsune Miku V4X (Character Vocal Series 01: Hatsune Miku)

Today I’m going to be taking a look at the 1/8th scale…
Hatsune Miku V4X!

A 1/8th scale figure of Hatsune Miku V4X, the upgraded voice synthesizer that allows for more natural and expressive singing! The figure is based on the main illustration for Hatsune Miku V4X done by iXima which features Miku in a beautiful, elegant pose! Her youthful body line has a lovely soft appearance which contrasts against the sharp appearance of her twin-tailed hair. Be sure to add her to your collection and enjoy the charm of the all-new Hatsune Miku!

The cute electronic diva is back in a brand new outfit!

The Hatsune Miku voice synthesizer software was upgraded into an easier to use version that allows for even more varied, beautiful singing options and released as Hatsune Miku V4X! This figure is based on the main package illustration for the upgraded Miku-san!!

Her futuristic outfit makes use of both translucent parts and metallic paint to bring out different textures all over the design!

▲The lower layer of the dress frill is translucent with the one above having a metallic appearance! Such amazing detail!!

You can also easily see the difference in thickness of the material between the skirt and her much thinner top, and both have been sculpted carefully including all the creases and wrinkles to give them that realistic fabric appearance.

The top also matches with the shape of her body nicely to show off her lovely curves! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

▲ Her chest may be on the reserved side in terms of size, but the details of the sculpt gets full points!

The gentle, floating appearance of her thin hair is so detailed as it winds around her, and the twist in her hips and shoulders has also been captured beautifully!

Be sure to take a closer look at the careful sculpt of her body including those gorgeous thighs once she joins your collection!!

This it the promotional poster for Miku!

According to her planner Hamako, the idea was to create an effect similar to that on a fashion magazine! As Miku-san is standing in such a model pose it suits very nicely!!

I was also asked by her to compare the 1/8th scale figure Hatsune Miku rereleased back in 2011 as a fun little comparison… so here we go

▲Her initial release was 2008, so there are around 9 years between the two!

While there are a lot of changes in style, the charm to her design has never faded!

* As a side note, Hatsune Miku is a final product while Hatsune Miku V4X is a prototype, so the actual size of the final product will differ!

The original Hatsune Miku also made use of metallic, glossy paint to bring out that futuristic appearance!♪

In comparison, this time around Miku has a more mature appearance! She’s all grown up! ♥

▲ There is something about her that makes her look so elegant! A gentle, calm kind of charming. (*´ｪ`*)

Also take a look at her lovely long legs!

The paintwork to show the stretch in her stockings is perfect!!

Areas such as behind the knee have a much darker look, while the thighs and calves have a more see-through appearance! It really captures that well-fitting appearance nicely through the paintwork! The metallic paintwork on her heels are also stunning! (/ω＼)

The illustration has Miku’s hair looking relatively flat by design, and the figure has been tuned to capture a similar feeling!

The sculpting is a part of it, but the subtle changes in color with darker colors on the inside to create a shadow that help to bring out that appearance on a 3D plane! ε=(｡・д・｡)

Not to mention the tips of her hair have that crystalline appearance through the use of semi-transparent parts! They look so beautiful!! ♪
