1/8th Scale Inori Yuzuriha

There have been so many requests to review Inori!

My mailbox has been overflowing with requests! There normally are not many requests for a release review, so I was quite surprised by the number of people who wrote in requesting it!! (`･ω･´)

As usual, I’m making use of my Sony Alpha 350 camera, and I’m not using any kind of fancy lighting. (the only lighting I use are the normal office lights and the sunlight from the windows!)

From Guilty Crown:

1/8th Scale Inori Yuzuriha!

From the anime series “Guilty Crown” comes a 1/8th scale of the Undertaker’s member, EGOIST’s vocalist and heroine of the series – Inori Yuzuriha. The figure is based on an illustration by the original character designer of the series, redjuice. She is posed with an innocent expression on her face and great care has been put into sculpting her beautiful body-line and delicate appearance.

There is so much I want to say, but let me have the photos speak a bit for themselves first! (`･ω･´)

This is how she looks from the back!

With autumn here, the coloring of her outfit seems to match the season perfectly! It’s the exact same beautiful colors as the autumn leaves! The gradient is also absolutely stunning, but I’ll look into that with more detail a little bit later.

Personally I really like the parting in her hair as well – its simplistic, but still looks great! (・∀・)

Her expression is lovely!

This image is magnified quite a lot, but even zoomed in this far she still looks beautiful! The airy, transparent atmosphere that accompanies Inori is really notable on the figure!

I also love the way her lips are ever so slightly opened!! (*゜∀゜)=3

So sexy!!

You need to look over that photo a couple of times first, then read on!

Those curves are truly magnificent… I honestly think this is even more erotic than if she were completely naked… 😛

I don’t really think I need to go into more detail, but the way her breasts are kind of sticking out as well as the area beneath the navel that cuts it quite close are my favorite parts of the figure. I get the feeling that you really need to experience her in person to really understand just how amazing she looks!

Lovely inner thighs!!

I’m sure that many people would rather be commenting on her bottom with a picture like this, but personally I’m definitely a thigh person!

If we look at an example of a girl wearing a skirt, you can pretty much always make out a girl’s hip-line, but you normally never get to see the inner thighs at all – that’s just what makes these thighs so special to me!

Plus they look so smooth and soft!! (ﾟ∞ﾟ)

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that people should pay more attention to the thighs, particularly when there are knee socks involved!

A truly stunning gradient!

All-in-all, I think most fans would agree that the biggest highlight of Inori is the amazing ‘Goldfish Outfit’! The outfit is separated into a number of different parts, and is actually painted over a number of different coatings for each color – a separate process for each of the white, yellow, orange and red colors.

The front and back of each pat have different coloring, so each part would need to go through at least eight different painting processes!

Absolutely amazing! That doesn’t even count in all the stamp painting that would need to go afterwards for the black diamonds and other shapes on her outfit… you can even see there is a gradient on smaller areas like the orange on her thighs or the flaps around her hips!

It may take a long time to get the coloring done in a case like this, but I think it’s definitely worth the effort is it comes out this beautifully!

My favorite shot from today’s pictures!

The dynamic pose really makes it look like she is about to run off somewhere… I think this angle really captures her cuter side! （´∀｀）

I’m really not the best photographer, but when it comes to figures it’s all about the love of the figure! She’s finally here, so I had to try take the cutest picture I could!

Nendoroid Iron Man Mark 7: Hero’s Edition

The red lines and text are all corrections!

The production team is generally the group that applies all these changes to the figure (or the manufacturing team in the case of mass production), but sometimes just like this, the planning head of the project will fix up some of the problems himself!

A file showing all the areas that need to be improved is drawn up, and slowly but surely the corrections are applied to improve the overall quality of the figure. Once all of the corrections are done, the unpainted prototype that you can see at the bottom left of this photo is created!

Nendoroid Iron Man Mark 7:
Hero’s Edition

From the worldwide hit film ‘The Avengers’ comes a fully articulated Nendoroid of Iron Man – the hero that industrialist billionaire Tony Stark becomes whenever he puts on his powerful armored suit. A number of booster effect parts are also included to easily pose him in combat or flying poses!!

The second Nendoroid from American films, following on from Nendoroid Spider-Man: Hero’s Edition!

I never thought we’d see such world famous heroes like these joining the Nendoroid series!

This is how he looks from the back!

Just like with Spider-Man, he also comes with a dioramic stand to display him flying above the city! You can even see the Stark Tower in the tiny little city!

The standard Nendoroid stand is also included, so you have the choice as to how you’d like to display him!

Posed with his arm thrusted out!

This is a pose that many Iron Man fans will be familiar with! He even comes with the opened out hand to complete the pose completely! Eno-kun was the leader of this project, and he insisted that this pose had to be included!

Pose him flying with effect parts!

He comes with jet effect parts for both of his hands, both his legs and even his back! There are also plans to include a special attachment to the arm of the stand that’ll allow you to support him nicely by his stomach for poses like this one!

You can even pose him in combat poses!

These jets used to fight his enemies are different to the ones that he uses to fly – when he is flying the jets are parallel to his the jets on his feet, but when he’s fighting with his arms out like this they’re parallel to the ground.

It’s amazing how cute the Nendoroid looks even though you can still place him in such cool looking poses!

The Edition series is fully articulated!

Whenever the name of the product has ‘Edition’ in it, you can assume that the figure is fully articulated and can be posed in an unbelievable number of ways!

Personally I love having the shoulders and knees as posable as they are on the edition Nendoroids – it really makes posing so much easier!

His mask can be opened and closed!

More than anything Tony Stark’s face is amazing! But the fact that you have the option to open up the mask is also great! 😛

How exactly this is going to be implemented in mass production is still under consideration, but no matter how it comes out, I’m sure the fans will be pleased to have this option!

You can even switch expressions!

I think I might get into trouble if I play around with this too much… in fact I’ll probably get into trouble doing it with even this one expression. 😛 But it seems you can have your favorite characters try out the Iron Man suit!

These were the corrections at the start!

I think I might get into trouble if I show too much of these… in fact I’ll probably get into trouble showing just this image… but I decided they should be shown to the blog readers as a special feature!

As you might imagine, it’s actually much harder to change characters like Spider-Man or Iron Man into Nendoroids compared to the normal anime characters. There were actually lots of other corrections besides the ones you see here – most of the changes are to make it keep to the Nendoroid design without breaking the balance of how the character should look. Iron Man had a huge number of changes that went on for a really long time before he was ready for release.

These corrections are for the joints!

These were written up by Takanon, the head of production for the project. Iron Man is a fully articulated Nendoroid, so there had to be a number of corrections for both the apperance and the posability of the Nendoroid.

Certainly not an easy thing to balance out, but it seems like the team did a great job in the end!! (`･ω･´)

figma Ultimate Madoka

It seems Nitouhei isn’t at his desk, so I I’m guessing he won’t mind if I just borrow this prototype quickly… 😛

I’m a member of the web team, and we sit right next to Max Factory’s planning team! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

This makes it so nice and easy to get hold of Max Factory prototypes when I need to! It’s also really nice to be beside them as they have a kind-of relaxing aura about them that seems to rub off on everyone else around them…

I’m pretty sure that aura will also stop them getting angry if I quickly borrow this prototype… at least I hope so!!  (`･ω･´)

From the hit anime series ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica’ comes a figma of the of the final form that Madoka Kaname took in the final episode of the series, when her wish was granted and she became a Puella Magi – Ultimate Madoka!

Just look at the outstanding quality!! (ﾟ∀ﾟ≡ﾟ∀ﾟ)

This picture is actually magnified quite a lot and she still looks incredible!

This is how she looks from the back!

She has that epic feeling about her that makes her seem like some kind of final boss in a game or something! The same pearl paintwork seen on both the scale figure and the Nendoroid is also used on the figma!

But even though she looks amazing, she is still super easy to pose!!

You can easily display her in all sorts of poses! There are even joints located in her giant dress allowing you to pose it billowing out like this!

She comes with a serious expression, bow and arrow!

As I’ve said before, this is definitely the most well-known pose for Ultimate Madoka! It’s quite strange how when I saw the Nendoroid in this pose I was filled with love for how cute she looked, but getting the figma into the pose actually takes some posing skill. It’s so much fun to slowly but surely create the pose you want – I felt really proud when I completed this pose!

My very own original pose!

I think I deserve a pat on the back for this one, I really think it came out nicely! This is of course the prototype, so I couldn’t do any fancy acrobatic poses… I actually made this pose just by moving the shoulders, elbows and knees!

It’s amazing how dynamic she looks – I can almost see her just springing to life right in front of me! I can’t wait to play around with the actual release when I won’t need to worry too much about breaking anything… 😛

The gentle smiling face is also included!

She only comes with these two expressions, but I think it’s more than enough!

Just like the Nendoroid, her wings are actually attached to the reverse side of her hair, allowing you to easily pose them at all sorts of different angles! In the photo above you can see the wings can be posed very high up – she has been very carefully designed to ensure that the hair never gets in the way!

A cuter, more magical girl-like pose!

It’s really so easy to make lovely poses like this with the figma series! The arm of the stand connects to her back behind the dress, and while it does keep her very stable, it also makes is very easy to change the angles around!

Plus you get to stare into her depths of space inside her dress whenever you want to attach the stand! 😛

She’s quite small when compared to the 1/8th scale version, but just look how similar she looks even as a figma!! Max Factory have really outdone themselves this time around!!

Nendoroid Ultimate Madoka: Full Review!

Premieres in theaters today!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*）

Yesterday I gave everyone a quick glimpse at the painted Nendoroid, but I wanted to give the full review on the same day as the premiere!

She was only just seen as a non-painted version, so I think a lot of people were surprised to see the fully colored prototype so soon! The Good Smile team has silently been planning for this day for some time! 😛

Anyway, let’s get on with the review!! (`・ω・´)

From Puella Magi Madoka Magica:
Nendoroid Ultimate Madoka!

From the hit anime series ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica’ comes a Nendoroid of the form that Madoka Kaname took in the final episode of the series, when her wish was granted and she became a Puella Magi – Ultimate Madoka!

She’s finally here━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━!!!!

Is there anyway to describe how cute she looks?! The ability of the Nendoroid’s chibi design to bring out cuteness is astounding! She’s just too cute!!!

She’s similar to the scale version, but has her own little charm that makes you want to stare at her all day long!!

This is how she looks from the back!

Just as with the scale figure, the volume of her hair and skirt are really impressive! The entire outfit is also coated with a lovely pearl paint that changes color depending on how the light is reflecting off it!

You can see just as much effort went into the Nendoroid version, even if she’s a fraction of the size of the scale figure!

Let’s move onto the optional parts!
A determined expression, bow and arrow!

Using the included bent arm parts you can recreate the famous arrow firing scene from the anime series! – it must be the most well known pose for Ultimate Madoka! The determined expression looking ahead to ensure she hits her target really completes the pose! Isn’t it adorable!!!

Both her wings make use of a clear gradient effect!!

The wings are actually attached with joints to the inside of her hair, which means you can move them into a huge range of positions! You can move them up and down easily, but also have some control of how far forward or back they are as well!

Next up is her staff!

This is actually her bow before it transforms, you can pose her with either the staff or the bow! You can see the differences quite nicely by comparing this photo to the previous one. She also comes with an extended left arm which lets you pose her holding the staff out like this!

It’s quite hard to tell, but her waist is also articulated! ( ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

I was a little worried that it might get in the way of some poses, but the inside of the skirt has more than enough space for that to not be a problem. It is the void of space after all! 😛

A gentle smile and clasped hands!!

Only two expressions are included with her, but the stunning outfit and optional make up for that! She also comes with some clasped hands to pose her in prayer… I wonder what she’s wishing for?! (I’m trying to avoid spoilers here :P)

The magical symbol circle!

The same beautiful purple gradient that was used with the 1/8th scale figure has also used on the Nendoroid, but the Nendoroid version can also be moved to all sorts of angles like this!

The support of the stand is separated into two parts, and the magic symbol circle can be inserted between the parts, giving you some control of where it is displayed!

This is how it looks placed at her feet!

It looks like she is walking along the magic symbols! The gradient and transparent effect of the magic circle looks really nice when you look at it from the bottom like this – particularly with the right light! It actually makes me want to shine a light directly onto it to see how it’d look!

This kind of recreates the scene from the opening theme! It’s quite a profound thing to display these two together at the same time, isn’t it…

The Madoka series has spanned over scale figures, Nendoroids and figmas now, and I think this Nendoroid will look great displayed with any one of them!

The scale figure has an amazing presence, but the Nendoroid certainly isn’t anything to scoff at!! Looking at them both together is truly a sight to behold!

The 1/8th scale Ultimate Madoka is well into production now, and will be released soon!

Rin Tohsaka: Yukata ver.

I got hold of yet another prototype today!

I’ve been searching for this figure that was on display at Machi Asobi!

She actually needs to be sent off to China as soon as possible, so Nagaizumi from management told me I had to be quick with my photos! Talk about putting on the pressure…

FREEing’s:
1/8th Scale Rin Tohsaka: Yukata ver.!

From the popular ‘Fate/stay night’ series comes a 1/8th scale figure of Rin Tohsaka wearing a lovely yukata! She is posed sitting relaxed on a bench with the wind gently blowing through her hair.

The yukata is a deep red to match with Rin’s image color, and features prints of camellia flowers and butterflies. A mosquito repellent ‘pig’ is also included to display alongside her, to really recreate the atmosphere of a summer festival!

Rin is finally joining the series!!!!

Ever since this series was on display at WonFes, I’ve been waiting for her!

This is how she looks from the back!

Rin is looking up at the fireworks in front of her! She looks so relaxed with that one hand on the bench!

Her lovely round hips are also a point to note – as I mentioned when I reviewed Saber, the best thing about yukatas is that they really bring out the curves of the body!

Just a peek of her legs!

This is definitely the kind of thing I love to see on figures, and I’m sure there are at least a couple of others out there that love it as much as me! Being able to sneak a peek on an area that should be covered up by her clothes is amazing!

For example, getting a glimpse of a girl’s cleavage because she’s bending down, or a glimpse at her thighs from a gust of wind!

If a girl is wearing a mini-skirt, seeing everything from the knees down is perfectly normal, you wouldn’t think anything of it… but when she’s wearing a yukata and you get a glimpse of the leg like this, it somehow seems a lot more appealing, doesn’t it? 😛

At least I know that FREEing understands me! I want to send a round of applause to their beautiful work!

A lovely expression with upturned eyes!

The pose and expression suit the ‘Always Elegant’ phrase that accompanies Rin. She might even be a little more mature looking than normal…

Seeing her so relaxed and happy… I’d be glad to help her with anything she asked of me!

A shot from the waist up!

Her posture is lovely! The fingers resting on her thighs are also beautiful!

Her yukata is red to match with Rin’s image color, and has lovely prints of camellia flowers and butterflies – a gorgeous combination that really suits Rin! The black sash brings the whole outfit together nicely as well!

The bench and mosquito repellent ‘pig’ are included!

A lovely set of optional parts that bring across the summer festival atmosphere! I think you could quite easily use the mosquito repellent ‘pig’ with Nendoroids or other figures as well!

The three yukata girls displayed together!

They look gorgeous displayed together!! The mix of standing and sitting poses gives a nice balance when displaying them all together, I love the mix of poses! (I wouldn’t mind if they were all standing, but I like being able to display them in front and behind of each other like this, instead of all just in a line!)

Sakura hasn’t had her fair share of figures, but this time FREEing made sure to include her with the set!

Saber Alter will also be joining the yukata series!!

Ooooh!! I want Saber Alter in her yukata!! I want her right now!! That sulking expression is just perfect for her as well – it’s so cute!!!

Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois

Some gigantic box has found it’s way to my desk!!

Another prototype *･ﾟﾟ･*:..:*･ﾟ(n‘∀‘)ηﾟ･*:..:*･ﾟﾟ･*!!

As I mentioned yesterday, the prototypes are very contested at the moment, but it seems a fairy by the name of Kahoyama managed to get hold of this one for me today!! Thank you!!

The figure is actully in pieces here and I’m a bit worried as to whether or not I’ll be able to put it together correctly… but I’ll give it my best shot!

From DOG DAYS:
Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois!

From the popular anime series with a second season on the air, ‘DOG DAYS’ comes a 1/8th scale figure to follow on from Princess Millhi – Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois, the the leader and Princess of the Galette Lion Army Territory! She is posed in the epic pose from with ending theme of the series, wielding her sword and shield ready for battle!

It’s such a lovely contrast to the gentle pose Millhi was in!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ )

I’ve taken a picture of the two of them together at the end of the post, so you’ll see them together soon!

This is how she looks from the back!

You can’t really tell from the front, but when you see her from the back you can see just how wide her cloak spreads out!! It almost seems to big to be a 1/8th scale figure!!

She looks ready for anything!

With her sword and shield drawn she’s ready for battle… and the smile on her face shows just how easy she thinks it’ll be!

The sculpting of her hair flowing behind her is incredible… just as incredible as her beautiful bust! Of course I’ve got a close up of that for everyone!!(´∀｀)

Yep! Truly magnificent! (ﾟωﾟ）

I think the forward-bent pose of the figure is the reason she looks so amazing. You can quite literally see the gravity pulling down on her chest here. ^^;

I think an angle like this is one of the best ways to show off some skin while while still wearing clothes. 😛

Her lovely thin waist and hot pants!

The more you look at this photo the more you’ll appreciate it… it’s not really visible if you look straight at her, but just with a slight angle change you can really enjoy her body’s curves!

Trying to see parts of the figure that you can’t quite see easily means even more to me than having a completely naked figure! You just don’t get the same kind of excitement if everything is already visible for you!

Her sword, shield and armor!

Whenever I review a figure I think I focus on the skin too much, but just look at the detail on the armor and weapons too!

The paintwork on the armor in particular really makes it look heavy and realistic, as if really were made from metal!

Nendoroid Asuna from Sword Art Online!

I managed to get hold of a prototype!!

Prototypes are all very contested at the moment – between needing their second painted version done, going out to events, going out for photography or needing to be put up on the blog… it’s quite hard to get hold of them!

Every figure goes through a number of adjustments after all the departments have had time to discuss it, but whenever I’m running behind on a blog, someone will always bring the figure through to me to review… thanks everyone, and sorry for the trouble!!

Anyway, today we’ll be taking a look at this Nendoroid!

Nendoroid Asuna!!

From the popular anime ‘Sword Art Online’ comes a Nendoroid of the beautiful Knight and subleader of the Knights of the Blood, Asuna! Recreate all your favorite scenes from the online world of Sword Art Online!

The Nendoroid of the master cook and powerful fighter is based off the anime’s design – doesn’t she look beautiful?! (･∀･)ﾉ

This is how she looks from the back!

The braided and tied up hair looks so cute in Nendoroid form! There is also a joint in the back ponytail for extra posing options! Her outfit is wonderfully detailed with lovely paintwork – the boots, sword and scabbard are all painted with a shiny silver.

A smiling face and Menu Window!

Just look at that angelic smile! I want her to be my bride, not Kirito’s!

Sword Art Online is also known for it’s game menus that the players can open up to use items, add friends and various other things. This menu is included with Asuna, so you can pose her together with it!

Lambent Light!

Asuna’s primary weapon is this blade known as Lambent Light! You can pose her simply enjoying herself with the sword like this, or make use of the bent arms and leg to recreate the famous pose from the key visual of the series.

I’m certain Yuri-chan will add a photo of that pose on the GSC website once she is officially announced – so take a look at it there!

Lambent Light while using skills and a serious face!

Those who like having two different options of swords will be glad to see this version is also included. She also includes a scabbard with a sword in and one with it drawn! Various hand parts that allow her to hold the swords at a number of angles, which together with the bent arm parts provide you with a number of different posing options.

Although most Nendoroids are only posable at the hips, Asuna has joints at her hips as well as two areas around her chest for even more posing options! Unfortunately because she is a prototype I can’t play around too much with posing… I’m too worried I’ll break something. Even so, I think this picture came out quite nicely!!

graphig++ Fate/Zero 1!

The characters of Fate/Zero are joining the chibi square series of figures, graphig! There are a total of seven characters to collect, including Saber, Irisviel von Einzbern, Archer, Kirei Kotomine, Waver, Rider and one secret character!

Each figure is about 5cm tall! A perfect size to display on your desk!

This graphig series from COSPA is actually very popular with the GSC staff!!

The neck and arms are posable!!

Just with these little bit of posing you can make all sorts of poses! You can even display them holding hands like this!

They cost just ¥500 each!

They come in sealed boxes, so you’ll have to wait and see which character you’ll get – they’ll be released in February!

The GSR & Studie with TeamUKYO 2012 Sponsor courses are coming to an end soon!

Puella Magi Madoka Magica – Extension Set 02 & Earphone Jack Accessories!

More and more witches appearing at the treats table!!

If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you’ll have to go back and read yesterday’s article. (`･ω･´)

There are only two days until the Madoka Movie premieres! Today I’ll be taking a look at another two little witches that are joining the Nendoroid Petites!
002Nendoroid Petite:
Puella Magi Madoka Magica – Extension Set 02!

From the hit anime ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica’ comes a set of two Nendoroid Petites as an extension set to add to the original Madoka Nendoroid Petites! This second extension set features the the Witch’s Underling as well as Walpurgis Night!

Just like the first set, the set of two costs ¥1,200! (`･ω･´)
Plus this set also comes with a special serial code!!

First up, the Witch’s Underling!

A very gentlemanly beard and butterfly legs are the highlights of this particular witch. He appeared in the first episode of the series!

The effortless floating appearance and the way he is resting his arm on his giant head are both lovely! The white cloudy face area also looks so soft and puffy!

Next up, Walpurgis Night!

Those of you who watched the series to the end will know this Witch appeared in the last episode! The very unique appearance and coloring has all been shrunk down to Nendoroid Petite size perfectly!

The neck is fitted with a Nendoroid joint, and you can really give her an sinister presence by playing around with the angle her neck is at!

This is how she looks from the top!

The cogs that really give Walpurgis-san her unique appearance are so cute, and so finely detailed! It’s quite interesting to look down at her from this angle!!

Now for a bit of trivia… this set of Witches are actually both seen in the final episode!

The Witch’s Underling was actually in the last episode too!!
You’ll have to try and find where exactly he appeared for yourself though!

Earphone Jack Accessories

A set of earphone jack accessories from ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie’! The set includes earphone jacks fitted with the soul gems with weapons of Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, Mami Tomoe, Sayaka Miku and Kyouko Sakura. There is also a Kyubey earphone jack to have him dangling off your smart phone, or have the dessert witch biting down on your phone instead!

Aniplex will be in charge of distribution and sales for these, but GSC was involved in the planning and production!

They’ll be randomly available in sealed boxes for ¥800 each!
They’re only going to be on sale at theaters showing the film, so if you’re interested you’ll have to grab them while you’re seeing the movie! Let’s see which one I’m going to get first…

My lucky number one was Sayaka’s Soulgem!

Oooh! The transparent parts look lovely!! Although I can’t help feel a little bad starting into her soulgem…。 ｡･ﾟ･(ﾉД`)･ﾟ･｡

The weapons can be removed from the hook if you just want the soulgem!

My second was Madoka-san’s Soulgem!

Madoka’s soulgem comes with a clear Kyubey!! Plus his tail is separated so that it swings around!! I think I’ll take it off and use it as a keyring instead! 😛

Just look how cute his little front paws look!! His rounded face also looks so cute atop the phone!!

Somehow I’m having to fight the urge of pulling him down… 😛

The tail is fitted with a ball joint, so you can move it to whatever angle you like!

The ever-popular Dessert Witch!

I got the one I wanted, but this one was the most popular among staff members, so I thought I’d review it as well! It really looks makes it look like he’s munching on the iPhone!!

Plus a clear version of the cuter version of the Dessert Witch is also included – it’s a bit hard to see in this picture….

This is how it looks from the back!

The final version will apparently allow you to hang the cute Dessert Witch from the tail of the earphone jack part! Looking at the big round head from the back really makes me want to pet him… I might lose my hand though…

You can also change the positioning!

I was quite impressed with this! In order for the witch to fit neatly on a variety of phones, the jack can be moved around! Great thinking, Oda-P!

It takes a little while to get the knack for it, but you can just turn it into the position you need!
