I’m visiting a secret location with the GSC advertising team!

Why exactly am I doing so? Well… I’m here to watch some filming of a certain rather impressive creation of the GSC team! So let’s head inside and get started!

Four of them bringing it out together!!

The life-size version of the bike Saber-san rides!

The bike is based on the V-MAX type of bike, but this one has been altered to look just like the one Saber rides in Fate/Zero – a complete 1/1 scale rendition of the bike!
Apparently it weighs an incredible 300kg!  ((((ﾟДﾟ)))

The ‘Saber Motored Cuirassier’!

This is the name given to the bike by Gen Urobuchi, the original author of Fate/Zero – who gave it a name specially for our product! Thank you!!

The bike’s design is by Namaniku Attakai, who works as a character designer at Nitroplus!

The bike scene hasn’t appeared in the anime as of yet, but I can’t wait to see it!

Let’s get ready for some pictures!

The angles and lighting need to be perfect to make the Cuirassier look as awesome as it possibly can. Just as with when taking pictures of figures, you need to carefully adjust these things for the perfect picture!

Now we can get started!!

It’s not like they were recording any audio or anything, but somehow I just felt like I should keep quiet :P. The atmosphere really gets somewhat tense while the filming is done… I guess that just shows how serious everyone is about this!

The team who made the bike also added in this feature!!

It lights up with the flick of a switch!!

This side also lights up!!

Plus they light up a lovely blue color – Saber-san’s image color!! The blue also compliments the black color of the bike very nicely… it looks so nice!

But why is it being filmed so professionally…?

The bike will be in a TV commercial!!
It will debut on the 24th December (Saturday) during the final episode of Fate/Zero!!

The figure will also of course be making an appearance!
Make sure to look out for it!

Time for a quick break!

Working so hard during these freezing December months –  a break is necessary once in awhile! This project involved quite a lot of people – of course the GSC staff, but also the bike design team, the video editing team and various other people!

The bike is currently on display at the Matsudo GSC Cafe!
Anyone is allowed to sit on it!

From the 22nd it will be on display in Akihabara!

We’ve spoken to Volks, and you will be able to sit on the bike at the Volks Showroom as well! (If it gets too busy, those who preorder the figure will get preference.)

However, the Goodsmile x Tetsujin Cafe will only allow those who preorder to get on to bike. The store is just too big for a staff member to be watching it all the time! Sorry!

New images of the Bike Saber!!

I’m sure a lot of you have already seen it, but there are probably a couple who haven’t had the chance to take a look yet, so I’ll be taking a quick look in today’s blog!

The photos are beautiful as they are taken by a professional!

I just wanted to take a look on the blog as soon as possible, and the second prototype was still busy with coloring. I was told just to wait it out, but instead I can use these professional images in the meantime!

Saber & Saber Motored Cuirassier!

From the popular anime that is currently airing, ‘Fate/Zero’ comes this lovely 1/8th scale figure of Saber wearing a black suit on a motorbike. The pose is taken from one of the illustrations in the light novel! As I said back when I looked at the uncolored prototype…

Just for the sake of this product, the bike was also given a name by the original author of the novel, Gen Urobuchi! ((((ﾟДﾟ)))

By the way – this scene hasn’t aired in the anime yet. But those who have read the original will know it’s definitely one of those scenes that will stick in your memory!!

As you can see, the bike she is riding is no ordinary bike…! I don’t want to spoil too much, but here is a quick spoiler-free wiki quote:

The bike was originally based off a ‘V-MAX’ bike!

It was changed both visually and practically just for Saber!!

I’ve mentioned it before and will go into more detail at the end of the article – but GSC has actually created a full-size version of the bike! 😛 I’m really not very knowledgeable when it comes to things like cars and bikes, but I’m really impressed to see a this bike come out from just an illustration!

Simply put, it’s unbelievably detailed for a 1/8th scale figure!

I actually meant to save comments like that for when I do my own photos and more personal review… but just look at the tony screws at the bottom there! They are not even a millimeter in size!

A very determined looking Saber-san!

The sculpting is done by Takayuki Kawahara (Kawapon), the same person who did Saber Lily ~Distant Avalon~!!

But I’m sure you could tell that just from the quality!

By the way, Kawapon is currently working on the second prototype coloring with a fever… 🙁

The bike itself makes use of 3D data, but is then adjusted by hand afterwards! Both Kawapon and Oda-P (who was head of planning for the figure) are both huge bike fans! It really shows in the result as well!

A look from the reverse side!

Nevermind the bike – Saber herself is also incredibly sculpted! It looks fantastic! I can’t wait to see the painted version with my very own eyes!!

As I’ve mentioned before… GSC has made a full-size bike as well!!

You’re even allowed to sit on it!

You’ll be able to ride on Saber’s bike yourself!!! Could there be anything better for a fan of the series!!? You can sit on it and say… “I am Saber!!” 😛

Ah-ha! I found a table tennis set under the table tennis table!!

… but more importantly, I also found a prototype figure to play with!
The table tennis table that was donated to us from Nitroplus currently has the role of a staff meeting place! Once in awhile you’ll hear a game being played late at night, and the sound really travels when the offices are so empty. 😛

The forth figure in the Saber series sculpted by Akira Toda (Principality of Kaguisuchino)! This time is the the Saber from the fighting RPG game, ‘Fate/EXTRA’ – a 1/8th scale Saber in a lovely red outfit!

As you can see, she is just as detailed as ever!!
Let’s take a closer look!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her dress and skirt are whirling up in a very bold pose that gives a very sexy atmosphere to the figure!
Take a close look at her hips in this picture!
There is a tiny gap between the petticoat and the skirt where you can see a little flash of skin!!

Toda’s wonderful sculpting! She’s beautiful!

Her mouth is just slightly open, and if you look up close you can just make out her teeth! I’m sure there are those that like open mouths like this on their figures and those who don’t – but such fine sculpting can’t be ignored either way! It looks incredible!

One more look at that stunning face!

While I was taking the photos, I wanted to capture her cutest points in the best possible ways which means I normally don’t take multiple photos of the same area, but this was a special occasion! Plus this red Saber gives off such a different atmosphere if you just change the angle slightly like this. She really is stunning!

Her weapon, Aestus Estus!

The beautiful scarlet long sword is gripped tightly in her hand, painted with a lovely gradient that makes it all the more lovely!

I know that on first look, your eyes are drawn to her breasts instantly… but there are other lovely things to see in this photo as well!

For instance, that lovely lacing!!

Such fine detail for a 1/8th scale figure! As usual I’m super impressed by Toda’s sculpting, but at the same time I feel sorry for the production team… I imagine it is going to be quite the task getting this mass produced…

Her sexy back showing off more skin!

The nice little gaps show off her shoulder blades as well as the back of her waist! Her skin looks so soft!! Just how far down the opening at her waist goes… will be a surprise for you when you get the figure for yourself. ^^

Her lovely thin legs!

The contrast between her armored boots and the soft looking skin is really sexy! The armor has a kind of mixed gold and silver color that looks absolutely wonderful too!

↑ Take a look at the lacing here too!!

The gold edging itself is amazing itself, but the little details above the gold lining is also stunning – I hope you can see it in the photo! This is all around the dress, so it must have been really difficult to get it looking so wonderful!

Her petticoat also has a transparent effect to it!
It’s lovely to see how close the figure is to the original character!! 🙂

Today we’ll be looking at a figure you can grab soon!

The 4th figure in the 1/7th scale Fate/stay night series:

Rin Tohsaka -UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS- !

Rin is a heroine from the movie ‘Fate/stay night – UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS’ – she fights in the Holy Grail War to succeed her deceased father – and now she is available as a beautiful 1/7th scale figure!

The figure here is a sample product and will be exactly what you’ll get if you choose to buy her…
 
She is absolutely fantastically made!!
 
She is based off Rin from the film, so it’s slightly different character design from the Rin used in the original FSN game, but the quality of the sculpting and production is unrivaled!

This is how she looks from the back!

As the subtitle of the figure states – ‘UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS’ – the base is littered with swords – all can be removed if you wish!

But just look at the divine sculpting of her hair!!
It’s simply unbelievable… the detail is stunning!!

The one and only Rin!

What a wonderful era to live in… I am able to enjoy figures as lovely as this one… As a fan of her, I can honestly say this is a figure I’m very pleased with!

Rin’s lovely thighs!

Noone in this world could not love such lovely thighs! If there is someone, they simply need to be taught what is right and wrong! 😛
The line from her hips down to her thighs is also a must-see… it’s beautiful!

A close up look at her body!

Rin is looking to the side, so if you take I picture straight on I’d miss a close-up of the front of the body – which as you can see looks great!  The way her skirt is fluttering up gives the perfect ‘just a little more’ feeling. :P. I think this is in fact my best shot for today!

Her hands have replaceable alternatives!

Her right alternative hand is holding the Azoth sword, and the left is holding her red gems!
 
Plus the original hand is holding per pendant, so that gives you the option to hold three different things, as well as the choice of an empty hand – just pick the two that you think she looks best with!

I don’t recommend it… but…
She can even the swords from the stand!

Shuu-chan, the new member of the GSC planning team, is practicing his pose imitation!

At Good Smile, all employees must start off with this training! (Just kidding :P)

Anyway, today we’ll be looking at:

Saber Alter ~Vortigern~!

A lovely 1/7th scale figure of the knight tainted by a black shadow, ‘Saber Alter’! She is posed at the point of slashing down with her sword in a wonderfully dynamic pose!

Let me start off with this…

This is an incredible figure…!!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her huge skirt fluttering up in the moment is just beautiful… everything about this figure has really grabbed me! It’s stunning!

Her armor has a nice metallic paint coat!

That shiny look is wonderful! The red lines are all done by using stamp printing – I think each piece would be done separately and then put together… but there are over 10 parts just in this photo… it must take ages! (By the way, if you’re not sure what stamp printing is, check out Part 4 of my Factory Field Trip!)

A face ready to take on anybody!

It has just the same feeling to it as the original illustration by Takeuchi-sensei!

The base features little stalagmites around her feet!

The Good Smile Team Production team really is good at what they do… even the base has some beautiful touches to it! The base uses the area in front of the holy grail where Shitou and Kotomine fight their final battle as a motif for it’s design!

It was quite tough to get it all into one picture nicely. 😛

But Vortigern isn’t just big…

It has gradient coloring on clear plastic!

It starts getting clearer and clearer from the center to the tip! Isn’t it pretty!?

She can hold other things too!

As long as the handle is long, then she should be able to wield it! Some other staff members said I should find a broom for her. ^^;
