1/8th Scale Triela!

She is from the popular manga being serialized in Dengeki Daimaou – GUNSLINGER GIRL.

Apologies for the long wait!!
This was first displayed at WonFes some 2 years ago… and after a lot of fine tuning she is finally here!

This is the original illustration!

The black and white contrast is beautiful! It’s the illustration that was used for the 9th volume of Gunslinger Girl!

This is how she looks from the back!

She is wearing the tight-fitting coat that suits her so nicely! Isn’t it great that we can finally see the back of the illustration as well? The world of figures has many bonuses!!

It wouldn’t be Gunslinger Girls without the guns!

Triela stares ahead ready for anything while holding her gun closely! The actual Gunslinger Girl storyline is a bit of a sad story where these girls are made to fight, and I think the expression captured here shows both a bit of sadness as well as a kind of determination… it’s just the perfect expression for the series!

The gun is of course super-detailed!

Even the back end has careful stitching on the leather, and a slightly worn look to it. It also looks really heavy! 😛

Knees!

Normally this is about where I would attack from a lower angle, but I just couldn’t do that to the lovely Triela. (I even feel bad taking this photo of her….)

But the sculpting of those knees is incredible! They look so cute and lady-like!! They must be the absolute best knees I have ever seen on a figure!

Twin-tails!

Triela is well known for her long blond, twin-tailed hair! They are sculpted with lots of twists which give them a very dynamic feeling as if they’re blowing in the wind… I love sculpting like this!

Her coat and boots!

Triela is one of the more mature character in the corporation, and these boots really are there to prove that! The coat also has that slight ‘fluttering’ feeling to it which adds the dynamic feeling the hair gave.

A stand made to look like stone paving!

A nice stand that brings out the world of Gunslinger Girl!

Nendoroid Petite: Haruhi Summer Festival Set

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen that shape!

That cardboard box is the perfect size for some Nendoroid Petites… I’m positive!
This is Mori-souri from the planning department… he was inputting all sorts of numbers… I think he’s up to something cunning.

But anyway, today we’ll be taking a look at…
Nendoroid Petite: Haruhi Summer Festival Set!

A set of three petite Nendoroids from ‘The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’ – Haruhi herself, along with Nagato and Mikuru, all wearing the yukatas that they wore in the last episode of the Endless Eight!

This is how they look from the back!

The little bows on the back of the yukata are really cute! They are also all wearing geta, so those of you who like to see bare feet over closed shoes will enjoy this set!

First up is Haruhi Suzumiya!

She has her hands on her hips in a perfect Haruhi-style pose!

Then we have Mikuru Asahina!

She is posed in a very elegant pose, with a colorful yellow yukata that is absolutely adorable!

And finally, Yuki Nagato!

She is standing up in an almost expressionless pose ideal for Nagato! I also somehow really like the curves made between the belt and her feet, you can really make out her hips nicely! 😛

Nagato also has another little extra! ((((ﾟДﾟ)))

The mask on her head can be removed!

Just how the mask will be removed and attached is currently still under consideration, but at the very least it will be removable somehow! I kind of hope they actually make a little elastic as if it were a real mask!

From the popular doujin game series created by Team Shanghai Alice, the ‘Touhou Project’, comes this 1/8th scale figure of Gensoukyou’s oldest youkai, as well as one of the most powerful – Yukari Yakumo. She is posed sitting on a rip in space, with a gaze that seems to judge anyone who dares to look at her.

She’ll look great displayed with the upcoming Chen figure and the still unannounced Ran Yakumo figure – look forward to all three!

Thus the figure carry case was created!
Take-chan really outdid himself this time! It really has that nice home-made feeling to it. 😛

The figure I’m reviewing today takes up a lot of space, so finding something that would hold it safely was really difficult. At least now Miyan can head to the photo shoot safely!

And that figure is this one!

Strength -animation version- !

Strength featured briefly in the Black Rock Shooter anime, watching over Black Rock Shooter during one of her battle scenes.

Let’s take a closer look!

She is the same scale as all the previous BRS figures – 1/8th scale. Strength herself is quite petite and cute, but her huge arms and stand really give her a volume to boast about!

This is how she looks from the back!

Looking at it from this angle makes it look as if she is floating in mid air…! You might be a little bit worried about the stability of the figure, but don’t be – it’s in fact very securely attached by the ogre arms and the blocks on the stand.

Her giant robotic arms – Ogre Arms!

The paint work looks absolutely stunning!! The Nendoroid Orge Arms looked great, but the 1/8th scale version are on a completely different level!!

The best thing about figures – you can look at your favorite characters from any angle you want to!

Another cool thing about the arms is that you can see exactly how they would move from their design… I can just picture them moving now!!

A close up on her face!

She has a much more loli face when compared to the other BRS girls… it’s very cute!! The hood covering up her mouth also adds a nice mysterious feeling!

Her lovely long tail in all it’s glory!

Strength-chan has a long bone-like tail quite similar to Dead Master’s horns. The detail on the tail is also incredible to look at!

I also really like the bare skin from her back over to her arms…

Her beautiful armpits! Aren’t they stunning!?
I still remember Dead Master’s bare back very fondly… but…

This no-sleeve look really is something as well!

Black Rock Shooter: Character Charm Collection 03 – King Saw will be going on sale soon!
I got a sample, so I’ll play around with it for a bit… 😛

figma Black Gold Saw can even hold it!
It’s metal so it really shines… it makes her look very classy!

The charms are actually fairly heavy for figmas to hold, but Golden Saw’s hands are fairly large so she can hold it quite nicely. ^^
It also comes with a chain, so you can of course use it as an accessory as well!

It obviously looks good to display 1/8th scale figures together with each other… but differing scales can also look quite nice together!

Is it just me, or does the picture above have a distinct yuri feeling about it?

Spring! The season of cherry blossoms!

It’s finally started to warm up a bit here in Matsudo now! I actually got hit by a cold and fell behind on work a little…

By the way, isn’t the background above gorgeous?It was made by Tarou Shuu, a newbie here in the production team! It’s available at the Good Smile Cafe’s photo booth, so go make use of it if you have the time!

Anyway… today we’ll be taking a look at…
1/8th Scale Yuri!

She is the leader of the SSS group that is trying to rebel against god in the anime ‘Angel Beats’!

As I previously introduced on the blog back on the 7th of December…

With the help of the 3D data provided by Sanjiken,
Yurippe is sculpted using 3DCG!

The picture above isn’t a photo – it’s the 3D data she is sculpted from! The world really is evolving!

However, the final touches and coloring are all done by Good Smile’s sculptors. Getting them to look over the final product is a sure way to check it keeps up to GSC standards!

Her wavering hair and frilly skirt give the figure a nice natural feeling…
Plus those thighs are beautiful!!! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

A cute face with an unwavering smile!

The smile suits Yuri so perfectly – you can really feel her determination coming through it!

Her adorable outfit is also very detailed!

The unique design and scarf around the breast area are definitely some of the highlights! You can also see the SSS crest on her left sleeve – with such fine detail you can even make out the writing on it!

She’s definitely cute from the front… but somehow I really like the way she looks from behind too! I think it might be those delicious thighs. ^^;

A clear stand with the Angel Beats! logo!

Some of you might think it’s a little bit too plain, but there is in fact an upside to the stand not being that spectacular…

Yurippe will be sold for just ¥5,800!
Lots of shops will probably have discounts and specials as well, so you might even get her for cheaper!

As a side not though, I don’t think clear stands like this are bad at all. Obviously I love the details on stands like those in the Bakemonogatari series, but these classic stands have a special charm to them as well… at least in my opinion.

Dead Master -animation version-

A new box of figure samples has arrived!

I was just about to go check what was happening with the production team too… what good timing!

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

Dead Master -animation version- !

She is the character who faced Black Rock Shooter in combat in the anime version of Black Rock Shooter!

The previously released ‘-original version- had a ‘calm’ feeling to it, while this -animation version- focuses on a more dynamic pose!

This is how she looks from the back!

Even from the back this version of Deadmaster looks like she is ready to strike! I really expect her to jump up at any second…!!

That gaze just draws you in!

It’s a very different feeling to the eyes that were on the original version… The long twirls in her hair have also been beautifully sculpted!

Her open back is just as sexy as always!

The nape of her neck also needs a special mention!! The long slender neck with her beautiful white skin contrasts with her black outfit wonderfully!

The much needed low-angle shot!

Once again the contrast between her black outfit and snow white skin is stunning… the shiny effect on her high heels also looks really nice.

The pose in mid-spin looks great!

You can make out her whole body line through her twisting clothes… it adds some nice spice to the figure! It also makes me want to try and picture whats beneath those clothes…

The stand is made up of skulls!

The BRS figure series is well known for it’s stands that help to recreate the atmosphere of the BRS world. This one brings back Deadmaster’s famous skulls as part of her stand… and as per usual the detail is absolutely incredible for a stand.

1/8th Scale Tsubasa Hanekawa

Time to find out who guessed correctly…!

I’m sure many of you knew exactly who it was… she was even displayed during WonFes! (`･ω･´)ゞ

The 4th figure in the 1/8th scale Bakemonogatari series: 、

Tsubasa Hanekawa!

The previous figures from the series include Hitagi Senjougahara, Nadeko Sengoku and Suruga Kanbaru. Now the ‘girl enchanted by the cat’, Tsubasa Hanekawa is set to join them!

First you need to take a look at this picture…

The pose is again based on a DVD jacket image!

This is the front jacket of the 4th volume of the DVD/BD series, ‘Tsubasa Cat’. As always, you can see how incredibly close the figure is to the original illustration! That downward gaze is beautiful!

Let’s take a look from another side!

Keeping with the previous figures in the series, all the small extra parts and the stand are all beautifully detailed.

The school desk and chair, plus her shoe, show this off nicely!

The desk and chair are in fact made from 3D data, so they are disturbingly similar to a real table and chair! We’ll take a closer look at them at a later stage!

Now from another angle!

You can finally see the other sides of the illustration that were never visible before… such is the power of figures!! This picture was taken at a slightly higher angle than the illustration was at.

I have to say that the way she is sitting on the table on her knees creates a really sexy pose!!

Turn her a little bit clockwise!

These photos really give Tsubasa a nice mature feeling. It’s amazing how much she changes with just a little change in the angle of the picture!

She really is beautiful!

Her big shiny eyes look amazing on the figure, and the round glasses only add to her charm!

Alright, now it’s time onto some more risque photos!

First up… her finger tips!

Figures from anime often follow the ‘no wrinkle’ method to create a more anime-style look, but Tsubasa’s hands have a nice realistic touch to them. I also love the way her pinky is slightly apart from the other fingers!

Those are… big…!

And completely unrelated, but the wrinkles in her clothes are also really impressive!

My personal favorite shot!

Everything just adds up to such a sexy pose… from the missing right shoe to the slightly opened up legs… plus the hand holding her skirt down….

It’s what you’d see if she was in front of you on the stairs or escalator! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

If you try hard enough you might even get to see a little bit more!! 😛

Of course it even comes with the kitty strap attached. Just look at the detail!

They simply replace her normal fringe part – so you can pick whichever version you prefer! The cats on the desk are the cats included with figma Aya Kagura: School Uniform version. You can add them in for an even cuter effect!!

Tsubasa-nee with no glasses!

Ooh… she looks even more mature now! You can also remove the glasses on the normal hair – so the choice is really entirely up to you.

Which means you can have cat ears with glasses too!!

This figure series really does put a lot of work into the extra and stand!

This time the stand is a table and desk…

Just look at the quality!

It really looks like it’s made out of wood! There is no way this was hand painted!

But then… how was it painted…?

It’s printed on with a printer!

This new printer can print directly onto figures!
Unfortunately if the area is too thick or has too many curves it won’t work nicely… but for things like the chair above, it’s perfect!

1/8th Scale Nessa

Yet another new figure to play with! (･∀･)ﾉ

The label on the box reads ‘handle with care’… They just have to add to the pressure…

But I shall not be stopped! I need to play with her!!

1/8th Scale Nessa!

Nessa is a character from the fantasy adventure anime, Fractale directed by the famous Yutaka Yamamoto! She’s a mysterious girl who came out of a bracelet left behind by another character, Phryne.

Some of you might not be aware, but…

The figure is based of Hidari’s original character design that featured in ‘Shisou Chizu Beta vol.1″!

This is in fact the original design of Nessa! Don’t you think the purple hair looks really great on her!? The red-haired Nessa from the anime is super cute, but the purple hair gives her a more mature look!

The first thing you notice is how incredibly dynamic the posing is! Her robe is fluttering all over!

It’s quite a challenge to create a figure like this that doesn’t actually have any part of the figure touching the ground, but this one has been done beautifully.

Nessa’s innocent smile!

Plus she has such beautiful eyes!! You can really feel the purity and innocence of Nessa’s character through the figure!

She has some very unique clothes!

The way it opens out at the breasts and slides down to show her shoulders really adds a nice sexy appeal to the figure… plus if you look closely at where the sleeves are drooping down you can see a little gap showing off her armpit! Excellent! 🙂

Even her toes are carefully detailed!

The way her shoe is half falling off is strangely captivating… I really like this photo. Whilst I am a fan of bare feet, something half-way there like this is probably even better in my opinion. (I hope some people agree with me… ^^; )

Her silky smooth back and neck!

Her arms and neck look very thin… but it really suits her perfectly. Her twin-tailed hair has also been sculpted in such a cute way!

Her robe actually has two layers!

This really shows off just how close to the original the figure really is! Now I just hope the production team can get the same quality on the final release!

1/8th Scale Nadeko Sengoku (Part 2)

Today I’ll be continuing my review of the cute Nadeko!

The second figure in the Bakemonogatori series:

1/8th Scale Nadeko Sengoku!

As I mentioned yesterday, the pose above is based on the jacket cover of the 4th volume Blu-ray & DVD box for series. Here is part one if you missed it: 1/8th Scale Nadeko Sengoku (Part 1)

It features Nadeko with her feet wading through water, some old Japanese torii archways, beautiful autumn leaves… it’s a figure filled with beauty!

But she actually comes with another secret!

She comes with optional leg parts!

For all those who would prefer to display Nadeko’s entire body, these are the extra parts included for you! Plus the fact that she is bare foot also adds to the charms of her school swimsuit!

We also can’t forget her adorable hat!

Yesterday’s bust-up shot from didn’t include the hat, so today has to include it! Removing and putting the hat on is simple, so you can easily switch whenever you want!

This version of Nadeko really has a strange kind of erotic feeling to it…. ^^;

Personally I think it’s because…

– She might be wearing a shirt over it, but underneath you know there is a school swimsuit there!

– The embarrassed expression on her face while holding her shirt out!

Those are the two reasons for the erotic feeling… in my opinion at least…

This is how she looks from the back!

When you use the leg parts with the feet Nadeko suddenly seems to have much more of a presence! Her left foot has a little transparent piece to connect her to the stand, but the right foot can be spun and placed in any direction.

She has a little slack bag on her hip!

Also, I couldn’t really get a good picture of it, but…

The gap created where her thighs and the swimsuit meet is stunning!

If you buy her be sure to take a look, it’s a wonderful sight!!

Hmm… I’m starting to think that people involved with Bakemonogatari are going to get annoyed with me if I continue with all of these shots… sorry! I really do love Bakemonogatari! I’ve bought every single one of the DVDs!

The yellow and brown give a kind of mature feeling to the box, and suit the autumn feeling of the figure.

1/8th Scale Nadeko Sengoku (Part 1)

The GSC Office is finally getting back into the swing of things…

Which means I’ll start getting product samples again!!
We are of course trying to send all new products out to as many regions as possible, but under the circumstances there may be some areas that will have delayed delivery – if it’s not there on the release day just be patient…. it will reach you eventually!

The GSC Offices are currently out for the planned black-outs!

My desk is about half in the dark, but that’s not going to stop me from taking photos… the lighting might be a little different to normal, but the figure is super cute so I don’t think it’ll make too much of a difference… I’ll take some extra pictures instead!

The 2nd figure in the Bakemonogatari series:

1/8th Scale Nadeko Sengoku!

Nadeko is from the popular anime series ‘Bakemonogatari’! The pose of the figure is based on the jacket cover of the 4th volume Blu-Ray and DVD covers of the series. It shows Nadeko wading through some water with an adorable smile beaming across her face in a relaxed autumn atmosphere.

She is the second in a series of figures, following on from Hitagi Senjougahara, and just like her predecessor… she is filled with extra parts and a stunning base to boot!! Σ(･∀･)

It doesn’t matter what angle you look at her from… she looks great from any angle! It’s wonderful to see more figures that build an entire scene like this one!

Just like Hitagi, the stand is just as amazing as the figure itself!

Her jacket and hat can both be removed!

Nadeko is easily embarrassed so she tries to hide behind her jacket and hat… which looks fine on her, but…

But she looks even cuter without them!! (;ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

Just like Hitagi’s skirt, even the inside of Nadeko’s jacket has been completely painted!

The area where the the jacket connects to her however is kept the same color to make sure that the different color does not rub off onto the actual figure.

A cute bashful smile…!

Aww, she is trying so hard to hide her embarrassment, but she just can’t hide those frowning eyebrows!!

Autumn leaves on her shirt!

Plus look at the detail of the creases around her breasts! They are perfect! Obviously the leaves on her shirt have the same stunning paint work as the other leaves.

There is a snake inside the clear base!

It looks like he is just at the surface of the water, twirling around Nadeko’s legs….! I can’t believe the amount of thought that must have been put into this figure!

The base is made of clear plastic, but if you look close you’ll notice it also has a lovely gradient effect to it. There are also bright gold leaves floating all over the water, and stunning ripples moving out from Nadeko’s legs. It all comes together to create a really stunning scene!
