The Monogatari Series Café at the Akihabara GSC-Tetsu Café!

The GSC-Tetsu Café in Akihabara!!

I was allowed to come inside before opening time!
I guess this is one of the privileges of working at Good Smile Company! 😛
Once again a new theme café has started!
A ‘Monogatari’ Series Café!
The café includes ‘Bakemonogatari’, ‘Nisemonogatari’ and ‘Nekomonogatari’! Along with great food, there are also original goods to get your hands on as well as a display including the original character sketches and designs from Nekomonogatari!
While I was bothering the staff while they were trying to set up, I also found out that there is a certain prototype on display at the café at the moment!

All the figures from GSC’s 1/8th scale ‘Bakemonogatari’ series are all lined up together! The prototype I was looking for is also here – in the upper right corner of this photo!!

1/8th Scale Karen Araragi!
From the popular anime series ‘Nisemonogatari’ comes a 1/8th scale figure of the girl who was stung by a bee, Karen Araragi!

The figure is based on the cover illustration used for the 1st volume of the Blu-ray & DVD: “Karen Bee: Part 1”, which features Karen wearing her trademark yellow jersey. Even the huge road roller in the illustration a part of the figure, and the valiant pose has been faithfully reproduced in figure form – Karen truly looks like a ‘hero of justice’!
It’s so… big!!(((ﾟДﾟ)))
The road roller is so big that you really can’t just consider it a pedestal for Karen, it’s like a whole extra figure… if not even bigger! The size isn’t the only impressive thing though, Karen herself looks absolutely amazing too!

Her pelvis is super sexy!!

This shows just how big it is!
The 1/8th scale Kanbaru-san and Hanekawa-san can both fit on it too… plus there is probably still even enough space for someone else! The Monogatari series figures really are outstanding quality!!

The karaoke room is filled with Kaiki!
It has a kind of ominous atmosphere… but that’s what makes it so awesome! Those who make use of the karaoke room will also receive Deishu Kaiki’s business card… I wonder what it looks like!!

I decided to take a Hanekawa-san table!
Seen the café wasn’t actually open yet, I was allowed to choose whichever table I wanted! To be honest I wasn’t really a huge Hanekawa-san fan, but after watching Nekomonogatari (Black) last year I’ve definitely fallen for her…
After that I started reading the original novels of the (White) sequel… and now I’ve really come to love her!!
But enough about my thoughts, let’s take a look at the menu!

Araragi-san’s Drink!
It even has his hair sticking up off the straw!
For each drink you order you also receive a coaster of the respective character. I specially picked the Araragi-san drink because I really wanted this coaster!
As for the taste… it’s a lovely mix of blueberry and banana for a very fruity drink! It was delicious!

Hitagi-san’s Curry!
The rice and hamburger make up a crab shape! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3
The vegetables and other tasty bits are all arranged in a cute manner that suits Hitagi-san nicely! It comes with quite a substantial helping of rice and meat, so I recommend this one if you’re feeling peckish!
The curry itself wasn’t too hot, I’d say it was a nice mild curry. There were all sorts of tastes and textures to it which made it really enjoyable!

All the ‘end-cards’ from the end of the episodes are lined up on the wall!
Each was illustrated by a different illustrator, and here you can see them all together at once!
There are also a collection of materials used in Nekomonogatari to look through – there was even one of Hanekawa-san’s house that featured in the anime, it was amazing!!

Kanbaru-san’s Monkey Pilaf!
A monkey’s hand and a basketball! How very artistic! (((ﾟДﾟ)))
As far as the appearance of the dishes goes, this is my personal favorite! (I love Kanbaru too!) The rose near the front here is made from raw ham and was incredibly delicious, and the vegetables, rice and fruits all came together to make a lovely balanced meal. I think I’d recommend this one to all the girls!

Mayoi-chan’s Swiss Cake!
It’s a snail!! The berries all around are also so cute!!（´∀｀）
Along with the swiss roll as the shell, it also has a piece of cake for the body itself, together with a couple of fruits for a truly sweet experience! There is also lots of fresh cream! Even the biggest sweet-tooths should be satisfied with this tasty snail treat!
For those who think I’m eating way too much, I only ate about half of the curry and pilaf, sharing the rest with some other staff members!

I’m always so lucky when it comes to picking things at random like this!!! The set of badges I was choosing from was the B group – if you’re looking for a specific badge be sure to come on the day that the right group is being given away. They rotate each day!

The very first Good Smile Lottery… even I am prepared to jump between FamilyMart stores! I’m sure most of you have already seen the line-up of lottery items from the live broadcast or website, but I’m going to take a quick look at them on the blog too!

Nendoroid Plus: Jumbo Hatsune Miku

She’s humongous!! I think this picture gives you quite a good idea of her size… she’s easily bigger than a small dog. If you take part in the lottery, be sure to be ready to carry this home with you! 😛

The packaging is pretty much identical to the original Nendoroid packaging, just the logo and catchphrases on the side have been altered to include the ‘Jumbo’ size! If you’re lucky enough to win her you’ll be able to enjoy this special size Miku Nendoroid whenever you like! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

Comparing sizes with Nendoroid Miku!

This size definitely gives her a very stark presence… although a somewhat different kind of presence to Dayo-san though. I think she’s a great size to leave in your entrance hall, similar to the larger threeA products or the soft vinyl Kyubey! (What is it that makes big products good for the entrance hall? :P)

She makes use of a U-shaped stand that connects at the neck. There are also supports for her twintails so even in spite of her size she stands up very stably!

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Santa Ver.

A Nendoroid based on one of Sega’s DIVA modules! It’s simply amazing how cute Miku looks dressed up in a Santa costume!!

I love the fact that her Santa hat has two little holes for her hair – it’s like the hat was specially designed for her!

She comes with two different facial expressions, bent arms and a number of optional parts to bring about the Christmas spirit! Even as a lottery draw prize she comes with so many different options to enjoy!

I’d love to have something this cute bring my Christmas presents! Her body fits into the chimney neatly for cute poses like this – just look at her little hands holding onto the sides!!!

Her hat can also be removed!

It’s quite strange seeing Miku without her hair accessories, it gives her quite a fresh feeling! She also comes with a bag full of presents which she can hold over her shoulder!

Although… I think Miku-san herself is the real present 😛

Nendoroid Petite:

A wonderful set of three Nendoroid Petites!

I can hardly believe this is a C Prize!! There are no alternate parts or anything, but the details on each of them is spectacular!

Such intricate paintwork and sculpting!

The seem to have the same details as full-sized Nendoroids even though they’re so tiny! It’s amazing!

Even the reverse side is also so detailed… just look at how amazing the area around Rin’s hips look!! I would be more than happy to get these in the draw… I think I’d even hope to get them! 😛

There are two different types of cushion – the one on the left is the Hobby Shop Version and the one on the right is the FamilyMart Version! The FamilyMart version is based on the Nikuman that were sold at FamilyMart over the Summer!

I’ve been waiting for them to be finished!!

Takamatsu from Phat Company is carrying a little suitcase, and based on the image I can just make out on it, this blog is going to be dedicated to the two and a half million IDOLM@STER producers out there!

Based on the social game released by Mobage, ‘IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls’ comes a set of cute chibi figures based on illustrations by Kengou Yakumo – the first in a new series of figures by Phat Company called the ‘Minicchu’ series. Put together your very own miniature idol unit with your favorite idols!

They’re so cute!!

Phat Company has released something absolutely incredible this time around! I’ll definitely be buying a set for myself, there is no way I could resist these!

They’re so lovely I almost feel like just ending this blog now and playing with the prototypes all day long… another hard day at work! 😛

This is how the look from the back!

You can easily make out who is who just by looking at the hairstyles!

There are a total of eight to collect, including one secret figure!

I think many will be trying to guess who the secret character is, but there are many idols in the game that it’s actually quite difficult to guess!

Let’s take a closer look at the idols!

First up, Kirari Moroboshi!

Each of the idols in IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls has a certain type – either cute, cool or passion. Both the Minicchu figures here as well as the Nendoroid Petites coming from GSC have a nice balance of the different types! Kirari here is a ‘passion’ type!

Each of the idols also comes in a six different rarities in the game – there is ‘Normal’, ‘Normal+’, ‘Rare’, ‘Rare+’, ‘S-Rare’ and ‘S-Rare+’. The characters have different outfits depending on which rarity you have!

This series makes use of outfits from the ‘Normal’ and ‘Rare’ cards!

There are two more passion types:
Natalia and Nina Ichihara!

Natalia is an idol from Brazil known for her tanned skin and Nina Ichihara is a nine year old idol who wears cute animal outfits – here she is wearing the fluffy sheep outfit from the ‘Rare’ card. I always thought the card was cute, but she looks even cuter in figure form!

Next up, the cute-types:
Anzu Futaba and Kanako Mimura!

Anzu-chan became a meme in the Japanese Internet as ‘AnzuChang’, which was actually how I first found out about the game! Even though the figure is so tiny, you can still easily make out the writing on her shirt which reads ‘If you work, you lose’ – it really gets her lazy personality across to everyone! Her long twintails are also lovely!!

Kanako-san is based on the ‘Normal’ card which features an illustration that shows off her great body! Just as with the illustration, you can see her arms are holding up her very impressive bust! Wonderful!!

Shuu-chan from the planning team really loves Kanako, and is trying to make all of his front members Kanako in the game! 😛

Finally, the cool-types:
Kaede Takagaki and Rin Shibuya!

Kaede has lovely hair that curls in at the ends as well as two different colored eyes – the figure is based on the ‘Rare’ card! The unique color of her hair was adjusted multiple times with lots of input from the publishers to ensure it came out perfectly! The sculpting also manages to keep the wonderfully mysterious aura about her!

Madoka & IDOLM@STER Themed Cafés at the Akihabara GSC & Tetsu Café!

A visit to Akihabara!

One place you have to visit is the AKIBA Culture Zone’s 5th Floor: The Good Smile & Karaoke no Tetsujin Café!!

I heard some rumors that there were some lovely collaborations going on! The café actually opens at 11AM, but I asked if they’d let me in a little early to get some pictures for the blog… (`･ω･´)

In front of the register is a sales corner!

Ooh! It looks so much more impressive since the last time I was here!! There are all sorts of goodies, from bigger things like T-shirts and tapestries down to much smaller items such as rubber straps! Obviously there are a load of figures on sale as well!!

There are also some exclusive goodies!

They all comes from Puella Magi Madoka Magica – the pink one on the left is a tea caddy, the black one on the right is an accessory case.

The store display cases!

These display cases obviously have GSC related figures on display, but you can also find some figures from other companies on display as well! There are so many figures to enjoy!

In this photo we have a history of the Nendoroid Petite IDOLM@STER figures! Otanaka was in charge of them, and you can really see just how much he must love the series!!

Nendoroid Petite: Cinderella Girls!

I put these up on the blog the other day and we got a load of feedback from them! I really can’t wait to see the colored versions of them! I also really hope we’ll see Kirarin in the line-up as well!!

The popular customer comment books!

There were a tradition that have been passed down from the Matsudo Good Smile Café! Seeing so many books filled with customer comments makes me feel all happy inside! If you visit the café, be sure to add your own comments or illustrations to the book!

The store is filled with cute goodies!

There are huge tapestries hanging from the ceiling – just by looking up you may very well see your favorite character looking down on you! There really are decorations throughout the café, so be sure to have a look around in every corner if you come visit!

From Shiny Festa: Honey Sound:
“Vault That Borderline!”

A drink based on image of ‘Honey Sound’, a delicious cranberry drink accompanied with a slice of apple. Includes a coaster or badge.

A bright red drink that gives off a really nice tropical feel! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ )

It has a very refreshing taste that I think would be perfect after a day of walking around Akihabara! In particular, I think the flavor will go down very well with the girls!

From ‘Shiny Festa: Funky Note’:
Ami, Mami & Hibiki’s Funky Carbonara

Carbona was Hibiki’s standard food in her hometown of Okinawa, and this carbonara has been specially made with the image of Ami & Mami in mind! A thick carbonara with a touch of ham. A place mat and badge are also included.

Ooh! I was expecting standard carbonara, but this is more pike a soup pasta! It’s going to start getting chilly over the Winter now, and I think soupy foods like this will be great for those cold days! And I have to say, after giving it a little taste, all I can say is that…

It’s delicious!!

I thought it was a little bland at first, but the sauce and ham blend together for a truly magnificent flavour! Just the soup alone is really delicious!!
008From Shining Festa: Groovy Tune:
Miki & Takane’s Honeymoon Dorayaki!

Two dorayaki desserts, one with a uguisu-green bean paste to represent Miki and the other with an adzuki-red bean paste to represent Takane. Both also have an IDOLM@STER symbol on the cake area! Includes a coaster or a badge.

Producer-san!! An IDOLM@STER symbol on the dessert!

I want to put that symbol on all sorts of other things as well!! As far as the actual dorayaki go, the ice-cream and paste are so lovely and sweet! They taste amazing! They’re also quite big, so if you’re hungry I’d definitely recommend considering them!

You’ll have to pick which one you want, I decided to go with the coaster myself… mainly because that gives me more of a chance to get into the IDOLM@STER Shining Festa Release Screening!

Before the day of the event, you need to get your hands on either the place mat or coaster from each of ‘Honey Sound’, ‘Funky Note’ and ‘Groovy Tune’

In other words, you need to get the red, yellow and green variations of either the place mats or coaster! That means you can have for example, a red place mat, a yellow coaster and a green coaster! For more information, be sure to check out the GSC & Tetsujin Café website!

From Puella Magi Madoka Magica:
Kyubey Curry ~You Have the Power to Change Fate~
(Puella Magi ver.)

The famous Kyubey curry that left queues outside the Matsudo café has finally returned! It has a slight difference to it though, it’s the ‘Puella Magi’ version, which has a pink curry instead! It certainly looks very cute, but how will it taste…?

Yep, delicious!!

I was told it was a relatively hot curry, but has a lovely strong flavor so it didn’t bother me at all! I actually think it would be the perfect curry for a cold Winter day! There is also a ‘Witch ver.’ of the Kyubey curry which also comes in an extra large portion and a mega portion for those who are hungry!

You can pick from four different designs each featuring a different character! It’s so cute that I almost don’t want to drink it!! A lovely coaster is also included!

On the side of the stage you’ll now find these small tables! Of course it’s great to come with friends, but there are some times that you just feel like visiting alone! (quite a lot of times in my case :P)

You’ll find some capsule machines near the register!

Capsule toys from IDOLM@STER, and they are only ¥200 for a spin! You can also use them before or after paying, so feel free to make use of them!

The Madoka Magica characters are joining the chibi square ‘graphig++’ series of figures! These look like so much fun to collect!

The films recently premiered in a number of countries, how many of you managed to see them? Myself, Oonoshi from the web team and Masu from Max Factory went to Ikebukuro th watch the first movie, but he hadn’t reserved seats and they sold out while we were on the way there!

Fortunately we quickly changed our plans and went to Saitama, where we managed to enjoy the movie!! It was really close though… a few seconds later and we might have missed out! It just goes to show how important reserving seats are!!

Homura Akemi and Madoka Kaname!

They have such a simple design, and yet all the important features of each character are still nice and visible. The large headed design also give them such unique balance!

Madoka has kind of droopy eyes that look so cute! Homu Homu even has the Soul Gem printed into the back of her hand – it’s so tiny!!

Sayaka Miki and Kyouko Sakura!

The sculpting of Kyouko’s ponytail needs a special mention here! It manages to keep the square feeling of a graphig figure so nicely, while still keeping the shape nicely! It’s quite hard to see from this angle, but Sayaka’s cape is also faithfully reproduced in graphig form!

Somewhat irrelevant, but I have to add that I really love these two characters!

Kyubey and Mami Tomoe!

Kyubey looks so adorable like this! His body and tail are so cute! 😛

Mami-san’s slanted hat, bust size and hair accessory are all faithfully represented on the graphig! It’s so nice to see all your favorite characteristics on a chibi figure like this!

graphig++ figures can swap expressions!

As you’d expect, the head can be detached at the joint found in their necks, but you can also detach the hair and face separately!

Unlike the others Kyubey doesn’t really have a separate hair part, but inside the Kyubey head is another Kyubey head! There is in fact a reason for this…

It allows you to exchange expressions for completely bizarre situations like this!! I think we ought to be quite scared of this Madoka…

Plus you can kind of use the outer head as a… hat?

Unfortunately if remove the hair, you also remove the side on the sides, so it looks a bit strange in that regard. You could always buy two sets and try repainting the one. 😛

You could also use it giant Kyubey mask instead!

They’re ever so slightly bigger, and definitely have a strong presence! They’re definitely a very convenient size to display beside you on the desk!

I think I’ll place them on the top of my monitor! They’ll look so cute there!

There are only two days until the Madoka Movie premieres! Today I’ll be taking a look at another two little witches that are joining the Nendoroid Petites!

From the hit anime ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica’ comes a set of two Nendoroid Petites as an extension set to add to the original Madoka Nendoroid Petites! This second extension set features the the Witch’s Underling as well as Walpurgis Night!

First up, the Witch’s Underling!

A very gentlemanly beard and butterfly legs are the highlights of this particular witch. He appeared in the first episode of the series!

The effortless floating appearance and the way he is resting his arm on his giant head are both lovely! The white cloudy face area also looks so soft and puffy!

Next up, Walpurgis Night!

Those of you who watched the series to the end will know this Witch appeared in the last episode! The very unique appearance and coloring has all been shrunk down to Nendoroid Petite size perfectly!

The neck is fitted with a Nendoroid joint, and you can really give her an sinister presence by playing around with the angle her neck is at!

The cogs that really give Walpurgis-san her unique appearance are so cute, and so finely detailed! It’s quite interesting to look down at her from this angle!!

Now for a bit of trivia… this set of Witches are actually both seen in the final episode!

The Witch’s Underling was actually in the last episode too!!
You’ll have to try and find where exactly he appeared for yourself though!

A set of earphone jack accessories from ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie’! The set includes earphone jacks fitted with the soul gems with weapons of Madoka Kaname, Homura Akemi, Mami Tomoe, Sayaka Miku and Kyouko Sakura. There is also a Kyubey earphone jack to have him dangling off your smart phone, or have the dessert witch biting down on your phone instead!

Aniplex will be in charge of distribution and sales for these, but GSC was involved in the planning and production!

They’ll be randomly available in sealed boxes for ¥800 each!

My lucky number one was Sayaka’s Soulgem!

Oooh! The transparent parts look lovely!! Although I can’t help feel a little bad starting into her soulgem…。 ｡･ﾟ･(ﾉД`)･ﾟ･｡

The weapons can be removed from the hook if you just want the soulgem!

My second was Madoka-san’s Soulgem!

Madoka’s soulgem comes with a clear Kyubey!! Plus his tail is separated so that it swings around!! I think I’ll take it off and use it as a keyring instead! 😛

Just look how cute his little front paws look!! His rounded face also looks so cute atop the phone!!

The tail is fitted with a ball joint, so you can move it to whatever angle you like!

The ever-popular Dessert Witch!

I got the one I wanted, but this one was the most popular among staff members, so I thought I’d review it as well! It really looks makes it look like he’s munching on the iPhone!!

Plus a clear version of the cuter version of the Dessert Witch is also included – it’s a bit hard to see in this picture….

This is how it looks from the back!

The final version will apparently allow you to hang the cute Dessert Witch from the tail of the earphone jack part! Looking at the big round head from the back really makes me want to pet him… I might lose my hand though…

You can also change the positioning!

I was quite impressed with this! In order for the witch to fit neatly on a variety of phones, the jack can be moved around! Great thinking, Oda-P!

It takes a little while to get the knack for it, but you can just turn it into the position you need!

Four AnkouEX Figures from ADVENTURE KARTEL!

My desk is being invaded by giants!!

Leaving your desk in the GSC offices often leads to pranks like this…

Often you’ll find the poses of your figures have been changed, or someone has left some treats ot scribbles for you. Today I came back to this army of prototypes, so I better get started reviewing them!

They are really humongous!

Today I’ll be taking a look at the figure in the middle here!
The AnkouEX figures from ADVENTURE KARTEL!
From the ‘ADVENTURE KARTEL’ series comes a number of different figures of the Ankou Sentry built to fight against the large Zombs, AnkouEX. The AnkouEx is a larger version of the Ankou Sentry with a number of bags hanging at his waist, each figure truly gives the overwhelming presence they deserve! To give you an idea who is who in this photo…

・ The Ankou Sentry on the left is a good guy!
・ On the rightis a Zomb, the bad guys!
・ The middle one was made to fight against large Zombs!
・ The little doughnut animal has nothing to do with them!

At least, that’s how I’ve been told the ADVENTURE KARTEL universe works! I hope I haven’t mixed something up horribly… I’m sorry if I have!

The Hoodzomb is already available!

This is a sample and it really shows off threeA’s the apperance and texture of the clothes on their figures! I love the way the color is faded on the bumps and wrinkles of the clothes!

The boots are also so detailed!！

Even the sole of the shoe is sculpted! The stitching along the shoes is also incredible, but it’s quite hard to see in this photo unfortunately. I don’t think many people realize just hoe incredibly intricate threeA’s figures are!

But anyway, after that quick detour let’s get back to the AnkouEX series!
First up is the C.O.S.D version!

Apparently the thing covering his head is part of a ‘Ghillie Suit’, basically it’s a camoflage suit to keep yourself hidden from your enemies! Although, I think it just makes him stick out even more when he’s on my desk… 😛

He has so many bags at his waist!

They’re the perfect size to hold a Nendoroid! Which goes to show just how big they are! The bags also have really detailed clips that actually work to hold them closed! You can see on just below Miku’s hand in this picture.

This is how it looks from the back!

That big rounded back and huge flat feet really give him a nice stable feeling. He also stands out nicely and is quite easy and fun to pose! I think he’ll look great at the entrance to a home!

The Ghillie suit hood can be removed!

You can even put it on some other figures like this! I think something like this must be quite rare in the figure world… it could be used for a figure survival games! 😛

Next up, the SHADOW SECURITY version!

That painted smile is lovely! The ‘Shadow’ name also suits his black body nicely. The zips on the clothes can open and close on all four of the figures as well, so you can display them with the chests showing for a slightly different feel!

The rim of the hood has a wire!

Such incredible attention to detail! It keeps the shape of the hood nicely so you can still see the face through the hood! This is the only one of the four that has a hood like this.

The body has a lovely rusted look!

Even though you’d never be able to see this area with the coat on, it’s still so detailed!! I think it would be quite difficult to remove the coat entirely, but it might be worth a try.

As a side note, the staff in the offices were quite entralled by the ‘nipples’ on the figure… what a lovely place I work at! ^^;

These two are essentially the same figures, but the left features a dirtier look while the right is the cleaner version. Among the staff the dirty version is actually more popular, and I think I personally agree with that sentiment as well… I want one for myself!

A lovey texture and embroidery!

It really looks and feels just like leather, and the jacket really has all puffy like you’d expect! It’s very soft to the touch as well – it feels amazing!

This is how it looks from the back!

Seeing the brand new looking bags on the clean version looks really different compared to the other versions! The slightly duller clothes also contrast with the caramel and yellow body bery nicely!

015This is the Dirty Swine Mode version!

I think this version really shows off what threeA is all about! They do look great together though, so you can compare the two! By the way, doen’t the mark on the back of their hands remind anyone of something?

The mark really looks just like the GSC Cafe logo! Even the color is correct!! It must just be a coincidence, but even so it’s quite cool!

Nendoroid More: Clip Stand & Suction Stand

The GSC newcomer’s blog that started back in June!

I’m not sure how many of you ever look a look, as it was only ever in Japanese, but this blog was actually started with the eventual goal of creating more fun ways to display figures!

They looked at a number of different options including special figure display cases and shelves, but all of those ended up getting… well, shelved.

However, the next set of ideas were given the go, originally based on this lovely illustration!

A very detailed illustration!

It might be quite a simple illustration, but it certainly gets the point across quite nicely! The scribbles on the left are apparently supposed to be showing magnets in use which are somehow making the Nendoroid float up in the air… needless to say there were a couple of ideas that were scrapped. 😛

Nendoroid More: Clip Stand &
Nendoroid More: Suction Stand!

These new stands bring Nendoroid fans a brand new way of displaying their favorite characters! Display your Nendoroids in places you never even considered using before!

Each stand comes with joints for both Nendoroids and Nendoroid Petites, so you can display any of your favorite characters from either series!

White, Pink and Mint!

I was only able to get hold of the white prototype, but I did get a few seperate parts to take a look at the colors as well.

The colors are pastel pink and mint, but they don’t stand out too much which is perfect to make sure that not too much is taken away from teh figure! I personally hope to see an orange and a transparent version at some stage!

Let’s try out the suction stand!

I simply connected the Nendoroid to the stand, and then stuck the suction cup onto the glass window! One of the biggest problems for figure collectors is a lack of space , and this helps a bit by letting you display some Nendoroids in all-new places!

This is how it looks from the side!

You can move the arm around to display her at whatever angle you like! The connector onto Cirno is yellow on this prototype version, but it will match the rest of the stand on the final version.

I tried to create a flying pose!

Characters with wings will really be able to be posed in mid-air now!

Of course you could always pose her in a flying pose with the normal stand, but to have her displayed high up like this gives it a whole new kind of appeal! It’s also a  really fun way to display her!

Cirno really seems to be enjoying herself too. 😛

Display your Nendoroids up high!

Although, I’d be too scared that they might fall, so I don’t want to put them too high up… if you really want to be safe, you could even just use them like this:

Stuck onto the desk!

This is actually an amazingly stable way of displaying Nendos!

It also allows you to change the pose around easily, and without taking up more space!  ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

It’s sometimes quite frustrating to get the characters into the right pose and then attach the stand, but I think this makes it considerably easier, plus the suction cup can be moved around as many times as you like, so when you get bored of having a Nendo in one place for too long, you can easily move it some place else!

Moving on, let’s try the clip stand!

Now Cirno is flying off from the side of my laptop! The clip area on the stand is made from a special material to ensure it won’t leave and marks or scratches on whatever you want to attach it to!

Keep Nendos with you wherever you go!

Take out your PC at a lovely café and then quick and easily clip a Nendo onto the side! Even while you’re in a boring meeting, you can keep a Nendoroid right in front of you to keep you happy!

The arm itself is very similar to the suction version, so you can also move it around into the angle you want. The way I’ve used it here also allows for a mid-air pose, showing just how much space you can save!

They are both great and fun new ways to display your favorite figures. The ‘More’ in Nendoroid More is to show that there is even MORE fun to be had when displaying your figures! It’s a first for GSC to release a product like this, but I’d really recommend you try it for yourself!

Personally I can’t wait to have a side of my wall, and the area around my PC covered in Nendoroids and Nendoroid Petites! Both the stands will only set you back ¥500, so be sure to give them a try!!

REAL STEEL: MIDAS!

It seems we have a robotic guest today!!

… and a rather large one at that! He has had a long trip from America to Japan, so I think he should come and relax at my desk for awhile!

From the film ‘Real Steel’:
REAL STEEL: MIDAS!

From the film ‘Real Steel’, comes another figure from threeA – this time it is the robot used in Underworld fighting matches, Midas! His shining golden body and red Mohawk styled hair are both faithfully recreated in figure form, and his body is also covered in scratches and dents from all his previous fights. The joints are even filled with cylinders and wires for a truly realistic appearance!

This is how he looks from the back!

He is way taller than the monitor… the paintwork also makes him have a really heavy and metallic appearance! This is actually a prototype model – it’s quite unusual for us to get hold of threeA’s prototypes!!

Real Steel
In 2020, human boxers have been replaced by robot boxers. Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) is a former boxer who owns such a robot, Ambush, competing in unsanctioned matches and in exhibitions with it. At a rural fair, Ambush is destroyed by Black Thunder, a bull belonging to promoter Ricky (Kevin Durand). Having made a bet that Ambush would win, Charlie now owes Ricky $20,000, which he doesn’t pay before leaving.

So simply put, these robots fight in the place of humans, and Midas here is one the enemies of the main character! (`･ω･´)
I won’t say much more as I don’t want to spoil anything, but apparently he has quite an important role in the film! Σ(ﾟДﾟ;）

You can pose him sitting down!

As it is a prototype I couldn’t be too bold with the posing, but I had to try a few interesting poses seen he is so very posable! First up I made a sitting pose, which actually makes him look very relaxed… it’s actually quite cute. 😛

Now into a fighting pose!

Midas is a robot that fights with a boxing style, so I tried placing him in a boxing pose… although I’m really not that great at making good poses for figures like this… If you do decide to grab him, I’m almost certain anyone will be able to make more interesting poses than me. 😛

The palms are fitted with joints!!

Midas is holding my precious snacks in his giant hand! You can open and close the hand and have him hold all sorts of things!!

The Mohawk looks exquisite!

When you look close up on the body you can also see a number of tattoo-like markings all over – they are so incredibly detailed!

The closer you look the more detail you can see, and when you realize just how much detail there is it is almost unbelievable!

The rusted paintwork and wires!

threeA is really well known for their incredible paintwork – just look how amazing the joints around the hip area look…

Plus the wiring around Midas is all put in place on the figure just as it looked in the film! It really adds to the robotic feeling of the figure!

Even the toes are articulated!

Once again this is the prototype, so I really can’t play around with the joints too much… but there are joints in the arms, legs, hips, shoulders and as you can see even in the toes! They really stick into place nicely as well, making it easy to get the figure into the poses you want!

The eyes can light-up!

There is a switch on the back of the head to light up his eyes! It is quite a pricey product, but the amount of incredible detail shows you exactly why that is!

Ambush will be going on sale soon!

The blue robot on the left is ‘Ambush’ – a robot that the main character of the film uses at the start of the story. Enokun managed to get hold of an early sample, so we can pose the two of them together!

My desk is actually quite large so I don’t know how well you can judge their size here, but compare them to the keyboard and monitor – they really have an incredible presence!

Also to go a little off topic… I really can’t help but think Ambush looks just like one of the enemies in Dragon Quest…

It’s the famous creature from the internet, wooser! Good Smile previously released a plushie of him… but these look a little different!

Kahoyama-chan was in charge of this project, and she is modeling them for us as well! They are definitely noticeable, but not too big that they become a nuisance.

This just makes it easier to take wooser with you no matter where you go! Hang them from your bag or even hang them from the ceiling – the options are endless!!

They are the perfect size to act as super fluffy stress balls! wooser and Darth wooser are 100% willing to absorb all your stress from a busy day! 😛

You can place them in shoes or slippers like this to make sure they don’t lose their shape! They look like some kind of creatures coming out of a cocoon, it’s cute! 😛
