Though I must say, that carrot looks a bit small… Σ(ﾟДﾟ;）

The carrot is in fact an extra part that comes with Nendoroid GUMI, to contrast the eggplant that Kamui rides! Let’s take a closer look at her prototype…

From ‘Virtual Vocalist Megpoid’:
Nendoroid GUMI!

The image character for the Virtual Vocalist Megpoid, GUMI, is finally joining the Nendoroid world! You can pose her in all sorts of poses that became popular from a number of her songs!

I know many of you have been waiting for her!! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

There have been requests for a Nendoroid of GUMI for ages, and now we are finally able to bring her to the fans!! Apologies for the long wait!

This is how she looks from the back!

Her hair has such a nice vivid green color, and even the little stand of hair coming off to the side has been faithfully kept in Nendoroid form! The tips of the hair are much darker with a gradient effect becoming lighter toward the center of her hair. Her outfit also looks lovely and detailed!

Recreate the illustration on the packaging!

Using the two bent arms you can pose her with her hands pressing the buttons on her headphones – the same pose from the Megpoid packaging! The actual illustration is a head-on frontal picture, but I decided to take a picture at a slight angle instead. She is also making use of the bent left leg part to really complete the pose!

A winking expression and ‘Kira’ pose!

I’m sure some of the fans will get the reference here, but I’m not going to expain it any further than that. 😛

This pose actually makes use of another bent left arm different from the one used in the above photo, as well as special hand parts!

You can display her wearing the goggles!

The goggles are included like this as an expression part, with the ones on her head being removable for a pose like this. This pose also makes use of a second type of bent arms, as well as the pointing hand parts to hold up her goggles with one hand, and her other hands held to her hips! You can get all sorts of poses out of the arms and hands included with her!

I also only just realized, but even though the figure is seperable at the waist, you can still clearly make out the line from her hips to her legs! Ageta-san really is an amazing sculptor!!

But there’s still more!!

A chibi expression and giant carrot!!

GUMI comes with a total of four expressions!!  Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ )

It’s always great to have more variety!! Plus she comes with a giant carrot to contrast with the eggplant used by Gackpo! She can also be posed riding on the carrot just as Gackpo could be posed riding on his eggplant! You can connect the carrot to the Nendoroid stand to kind of make it look the carrot is soaring through the sky! She looks so cute!!（´∀｀）

Nendoroid Gakupo was shipped out from GSC today!!

The Gakupo here is in fact an early sample that arrived the other day. It’s quite a bizzare coincidence that that Nendoroid GUMI is announced so close to the Gackpo’s release date!

I decided I had to try swapping the two chibi faces too!

The photo above has Kamui and Gumi’s expressions reveresed, but they still seem to suit very nicely! The sizes between the product and prototype were a little different, but at release they should be completely compatible with one and other.

Also, a quick warning about Kamui! (`･ω･´)

When you display Gakupo riding on his eggplant, support it with the arm of the pedestal to releave some of the burden from the thin legs of the eggplant. They might break if you’re not careful!

Nendoroid Hunter: Female Swordsman – Bario X Edition

How does he move so fast!!

It’s unbelieveably blurry, but in his left hand he is holding an iron ruler and in his right hand is a clear shield. 😛 This photo truly makes him look like some kind of Berserker from Dragon Quest, but that really isn’t the case at all.

By complete coincidence, a deliveryman arrived at the exact same time as the photo (he is on the right) and was quite astounded at what he saw…

But anyway, today we’ll be playing with this lovely figure!

Female Swordsman – Bario X Edition!

A Nendoroid of the female swordsman wearing the ‘Bario X’ series of armor made from the powerful ice-fanged Barioth! Display her together with the previously announced ‘Lagia X Edition’ Nendoroid and recreate some of your favorite hunting scenes from the game.

The second in the Monster Hunter series is a female! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

I’m a big fan of Monster Hunter, and I’m also a fan of female figures, so this is a whole new level of amazing for me!! I also love the way her armor looks sort of like a coat, it makes her look so regal!

This is how she looks from the back!

The waist area of the coat armor is separated and fitted with a ball joint, so you can still pose the legs in all sorts of amazing dynamic poses. When you have a figure from something like Monster Hunter, you have to be able to pose it in combat poses!

There is also a joint fitted into her ponytail, which is really well hidden – you can hardly see it at all, but you can still pose the hair however you like!!

Her weapon is a one-handed sword!

The powerful sword made from the Barioth is known as the ‘Glass Valty’, and as you can see it is a very intricate sword! You can of course choose to display her with or without the sword.

Shuu-chan was in charge of this project, and he himself is apparently a one-handed sword user. If there are more Nendos to come, I hope to see a greatsword and a bow!

The fully posable ‘Edition’ series!

Just like the previous Nendo in the series, this Nendo is a part of the ‘Edition’ series which means she is articulated all over for amazing poses! There are more joints than a normal Nendoroid, allowing for much easier combat poses!

Personally I loved the extra posability of the shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles!

She comes with an injured expression!!

It’s she just adorable with this expression?!

The slight blush along with the gritted teeth and single closed eye makes for a really cute expression… even if it’s supposed to look like she is getting attacked…

A look from the monster’s viewpoint!

Hmm… I’m pretty sure if I saw someone this cute give me this expression, I’d stop attacking. Even if I were a monster. I’d just give her all my rare components!!! d(*´∀｀*)b

You can use expressions from other characters!

Using a chibi face from another character gives the Nendoroid a completely different atmosphere! Mix and match with your collection to find some expressions that suit her!

I really wanted to play around with a few more expressions myself, but Shuu-chan said she was headed off to an event display, so I didn’t have the time!!

The Nendoroid on display at TYPE-MOON Fes has finally been painted!

Yay!! I’ve been waiting for her, I can’t wait to look inside!! When Mahoutsukai no Yoru first came out I stocked up on food and spent the whole weekend stuck in my house playing until I had a massive headache.

There is nothing more exiting then getting to play one of TYPE-MOON’s latest releases! I can’t wait for a sequel!!

From famous game developer TYPE-MOON’s latest work, ‘Mahoutsukai no Yoru’ comes a Nendoroid of the game’s main character and heroine, Aoko Aozaki! Enjoy the company of the apprentice witch whenever you like, in the pose of your choice! Aoko is also known for her rather bountiful bust…

Which is even nice and clear on the Nendoroid!! (ﾟ∀ﾟ)

This is how she looks from the back!

Even though the sculpting is fairly simple, the hair has a lovely dynamic look to it. The way the hair on the side stands up is also a perfect rendition of the illustrations! As a side note, I have to say that Aoko’s skirt is incredibly short… it was really hard to get a picture not showing anything…

The pose from the key visual!

A lovely jumping pose! She comes with both bent arms and legs, so you can probably recreate the pose from the game’s packaging as well… I’ll have to try out for myself later!

She comes with a shouting expression!

Aoko is often quite cranky, so a shouting pose like this is actually very suited to her. It’s perfect to pose her shouting out orders as the head of the student council. I’m sure there are many fans of this angry side of Aoko!

Plus if use it in conjuction with the folded arms you see here, it really looks like she is angrily shouting about something! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

A chibi face for some more comical poses!

Aoko often had this expression in her dailogue with Soujurou, it has a kind of surprised and embarrassed feel to it and looks lovely!

It also has the potential to be used with all other Nendoroids, which is something I love to have with expressions.

A special magical circle pedestal!

Those who have played the game will know which scene this is from instantly – it even has edges made to look like debris! I don’t want to spoil anything, but this really is an amazing fight scene!!!

The scenario itself is amazing, but the production and music really bring everything together for an absolutely incredible scene! I just stared at the sceen with my mouth half open…

She also comes with magic effect parts!
There are actually three magic circles in one, another perfect rendition of a scene where Aoko is fighting a certain opponent! I love seeing figures in poses from the game like this, it makes me want to create a little diorama to recreate the scene even further!

But I’m sure there are a lot of fans of the game that are also wondering if a certain other character is going to be joining Aoko… I think any fan would want to see this character join Aoko!!

Nendoroid Alice Kuonji is on her way too!!

Unfortunately I can only show you her back today, but I’m sure we’ll be able to take a closer look at her very shortly! But even just looking at her back there is so much I want to say about her…

Will she come with her cape and hat? Will she come with sitting parts? (I want to have her sitting next to the fighting Aoko Nendoroid!), will she come with her little robin? I’m really not sure what parts she’ll come with, so we’ll have to just wait and see!!

Nendoroid Alice Margatroid!

From Team Shanghai Alice’s popular Touhou Project game series, comes a Nendoroid of the magician who lives in the Forest of Magic, Alice Margatroid! The puppets allow you to pose Alice showing off her ability to control puppets in battle – just one of the many interesting situations you can recreate in Nendoroid form!

This is how she looks from the back!

The stand is a rather unusual type for a Nendoroid – it is just held at the toes, but still allows her to be posed in all sorts of interesting poses! Alice’s beautiful blond hair with the red band in it are also sculpted so cutely!

She also has this lovely smiling face!

Alice comes with two lovely smiles for you to choose from. This part is even ideal for combat, as Alice always knows she is stronger! 😛

She also comes with a bent arm which you can use like this to make it look like she is brushing her hair back!

You can have her hold it in her right hand, and you can also swap out shoulder parts to pose her with her arms opened out!

A special arm and shoulder part are included to create this pose with her arm forward. It’s quite hard to see in this photo, but her right arm is also quite far forward while holding the grimoire. If the left hand was put down the arms would be crossing.

Nendoroid Princess of the Crystal

I’m sure many of you will recognize these numbered penguins!

Animal figures in anime style are so cute! As much as I love the characters themselves, I have to say I also adore these cute little creatures!

Although, they’re most certainly not the only cute figures we have today… because today we’ll be taking a look at this lovely figure!

From Mawaru Penguindrum:
Nendoroid Princess of the Crystal!

A Nendoroid of the mysterious character that Himari changed into when she put on the penguin hat – The Princess of the Crystal! The skirt, scarf and frilly parts on her arms can all be removed allowing you to pose her all the stages of the famous transformation scene as well!

This is how the packaging looks!

As you can see, she comes with all sorts of extra goodies to play with! The packaging is actually slightly bigger than the standard Nendoroid packaging – its the same size as the Cheerful Miku packaging. Penguins #1, #2 and #3 are also all included!

The twin tails coming out from the hat are fitted with Nendoroid joints! They move in all sorts of directions for interesting poses!

She can also stand on her own without a stand!! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ*）
Plus it’s not just balanced, she is actually very stable! I’m sure you could even bump the table and she still wouldn’t fall down!

A shouting expression and her huge skirt!

These parts are actually to recreate the famous ‘Imagine!’ scene with her hand up in the air, but I decided to use the bent arms which give her a more angry appearance! There are two skirts included – one that is closed up and this one which is opened out.

Her hat can also be removed!

Of course in terms of the storyline, the hat shouldn’t really be able to be removed, but as a figure anything is possible! Using the face with closed eyes also makes her look a lot more like the gentle Himari!

“Lets initiate the survival strategy!”

With all the parts that are included, you can recreate all the different parts of the transformation scene! At the end you can have her like this, with all the frills of her outfit removed!

Plus just like in the show, you can have her stand atop the penguins!

Something I never took a look at on the prototype…
They’re triple laced!!

I’m amazed to see something like this made to such detail on the Nendoroid!! As you can see, the arm stand has a little extra attachment that allows you to pose her standing on the penguins!

A truly adorable Princess!

The expression is the crying expression from Nendoroid Sakura Miku! I wanted to recreate a more Himari-chan like pose, but then I found out that Himari’s eyes are actually purple when she isn’t transformed! But I guess seeing the Princess of the Crystal like this is just as cute! (`･ω･´)

Nendoroid Sakura Miku

…is Miku’s 5th year anniversary!

Congratulations Miku-san!! I hope that your next year brings you even more lovely fans!!As usual, I even grabbed a cake to celebrate! Every year I’ve got a cake to celebrate, but this year there is a little gift to Miku as well!

This special figure was officially announced on the GSC website today! (`･ω･´)

Nendoroid Sakura Miku!

It’s Miku wearing an adorable pink outfit created with the image of cherry blossoms! The design is based on an illustration by Putidevil, which has been converted into Nendoroid form with careful attention to the meticulous use of color in the illustration! Now everyone can enjoy their Spring with Sakura Miku by their side!

A while back I did an article introducing her to everyone, but she has gone through a number of improvements since then!

Even the smallest details are really adorable – I’ll be taking a look at them along with the various optional parts! (ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

This is how she looks from the back!

The cherry decoration is absolutely lovely! The shiny effect makes them look really delicious too! The reverse side of the headset, which wasn’t even visible in the original illustration, has also been beautifully sculpted!

While you can’t see it here yet, the stand is planned to be a standard Nendoroid arm-type stand.

Beautiful cherry blossom on her hair!

There are pink and white blossom prints, and the white ones have a stunning white gradient applied to them! I can’t imagine how much stamp printing each one of these will take to produce…

Also to match Putidevi’s illustration, the edges of the sleeves have been changed to be more rounded!

She also comes with a crying expression!

This expression makes it seem like Miku is sad that the blossoms are falling from the trees… it’s so cute that it was actually hard for me to switch to a different expression after putting this one on!

The cherry blossom flower in her hand is also included!
You can even switch hand parts and let other characters hold it, if you’d like!

A normal headset and cherry hair accessories!

This allows you to display Sakura Miku exactly the way she looked when she was first released as a charm! The headset and accessories are not the same part though – you can mix and match between the parts you saw above and create the exact Sakura Miku that you like! Just take a look at the upcoming photos, you’ll see some different combinations of the various parts!

Sakura Miku enjoying a rice cake!!

She is sitting on a tower of cushions enjoying a delicious rice cake wrapped in a cherry blossom leaf! The illustration was originally done by Putidevil at the Sakura Miku café that was held at the Akihabara GSC Tetsujin Café!

The sculptor, Maruhige, even made the cushions able to be piled up like this to completely recreate the illustration!

A cherry blossom pedestal is included!

How exactly Miku will stand while on this pedestal is still under consideration, but just balancing her on it for now looks wonderful! An adorable cherry blossom fairy!! 😛

The pedestal makes use of clear parts as well as a gradient effect!

This is show it looks from the side!

Sakura Miku might not come with quite as many extra parts as other Nendoroids nowadays (although that’s not to say she comes with too few…), but a huge amount of effort has been put into Sakura Miku herself! A lot more work has gone into perfecting the Nendoroid itself compared to normal Nendoroids, and I think that shows just by looking at the detail you can see in this photo!

Unfortunately it does also mean the price is a little bit higher than a normal Nendoroid, but I’m confident that everyone who grabs her will be more than satisfied with their purchase!

The contrast between the ‘Winter’ and ‘Spring’ colors makes for a very lovely scene! I think displaying the two of them together is ideal!

Nendoroid Sasara Kusugawa: Valkyrie ver. & Nendoroid Petite Maryan

It looks like Tsukki is fighting something!

At first glance it might look like he is playing with Saber-san,　but he and the rest of the manufacturing team are actually inspecting some test samples in the window-side meeting room!  The green mat on the table is to measure the sizes are all right!

But anyway… we all know that Tsukki shouldn’t be playing with figures anyway – that’s my job!

From ‘AQUAPAZZA’

Nendoroid Sasara Kusugawa: Valkyrie ver.
& Nendoroid Petite Maryan!

From the PS3 version of the 2D fighting fight ‘AQUAPAZZA’ comes a Nendoroid of Sasara Kusugawa wearing Valkyrie armor. The armor has carefully been shrunk down to Nendoroid size while still keeping the amazing detail, and she also comes with her equally impressive halberd!

This is how she looks from the back!

Everything about this Nendoroid is amazingly detailed! The armor, helmet and shield all have a lovely metallic paint, and the painting of each different part is gorgeous!

When I asked Tsukki about how it’ll work in manufacturing, he said there will have to be loads of different masks to ensure all the colors are separated neatly! (`･ω･´)

A shouting face ideal for combat scenes!

AQUAPAZZA is a fighting game, so an expression for fighting scenes had to be included! You can also see there is a lot of gradient paintwork all over the figure that simply looks spectacular!

The top of her halberd can be detached and placed backwards so you can have her hold it in the opposite hand as well!

Closed eyes and wings for powering up!

In the game, you can have Sasara places the top of her halberd in the ground and use a skill that powers her up, just like this! An expression and beautiful clear wings to complete the pose are also included!

The pose should actually have the halberd completely vertical, but you can pose her like this as well!

Effect parts for swinging the Halberd!

This part was actually based on a once-off part Oda-P once made as a prize for the Saber Posing competition.

Normally you’d only see this in 2D, but as a figure you get the full force of the 3D scene! I’ve always wanted effect parts like this for weapons, so I’m very happy with this particular part!!

In the AQUAPAZZA game you get to select a second character that allows you to preform ‘Partner Assist’ attacks. I think it goes without saying that Maryan-senpai is best for Sasara! 😛

It’s incredible that you get an entire Nendo Petite along with that incredibly detailed armor Sasara is wearing!

Nendoroid Black Rock Shooter: Anime Ver.

Everyone in the new offices has a little shelf above their desk to keep some documents or figures – we refer to them as the aerial shelves! However, Koyamada’s shelf has a little section for me which contains figure samples that need to be reviewed on the blog! It allows me to grab products from the team nice without any hassle!

Today we’ll be taking a look at this lovely figure:
Nendoroid Black Rock Shooter:

From the anime series that aired on Fuji TV’s ‘noitaminA’ block, ‘Black Rock Shooter’ comes a Nendoroid of Black Rock Shooter herself! You can enjoy the epic battles of the Black Rock Shooter anime in Nendoroid size!

This is how the packaging looks!

Three huge weapons are included (all made from 3D data, so they look incredible!) , a completely separate head part as well as a variety of hands and arms to hold all the weapons!

After I was finished with my photos, this picture really came in handy while I was trying to put each of the pieces back into the blister pack. 😛

The Rock Cannon can be deployed!

Everyone knows Shooter-chan best with this weapon – the Rock Cannon, and it can even be deployed just like it did in the series!

I was a bit worried that due to the details and articulation that this wouldn’t come out as nicely on the final product – but it opens up perfectly, just as it did on the prototype!

Shooter-chan wearing her hood!

With a quick swap of her head parts you can recreate the popular hooded scene from the anime! Of course you can also switch to any expression while she has the hood up as well, and you can even attach the blue flame and the hood on together.

The arm stand also allows for some interesting acrobatic poses like this one!

The Rock Cannon in Gatling mode!

I-It’s enormous! But even so, Shooter-chan can still hold it quite comfortably! This is of course the scene where Shooter-chan was blowing up macarons!

This is how she looks from above!

The cartridge clip even has the blue lines along it just as it did in the show! It’s these small little details that are probably a huge amount of work, but thats what gives it the Good Smile quality!!

Big weapons are sure to suit others too!

I could only think it’d look great with Mami-san! But unfortunately Mami doesn’t come with arm parts to hold the cannon, so I had to just balance it alongside her.

This Gatling cannon was actually added after special request from Aki himself.

Mix and match some expressions!

It looks like Shooter-chan is taking a quick little break on her Rock Cannon! It’s so cute!! The expression here is from Nendoroid Kurisu Makise – both Shooter-chan and Kurisu were illustrated by huke, so it actually suits quite nicely!

Nendoroid Mirai Suenaga

Kyojin-san is playing with a miniature car!

Kyojin-san has been on the ‘Wonhobby News Watch’ for the past three months and the ‘Live WonHobby TV’ broadcast, but he is actually a member of the planning team as well!

I also think he has a prototype for me to take a look at…

From ‘Culture Japan’:
Nendoroid Mirai Suenaga!

From Danny Choo’s TV show, ‘Culture Japan’ comes a Nendoroid of the show’s mascot character, Mirai Suenaga! She comes with the expression you see above based on an illustration by Nao Shirahane as well as expressions based on the Moekana card illustrations by Ikkyuu!

This is how she looks from the back!

The petticoat just visible under her skirt, braided hair at the side and expression all look just like the original illustration! Mirai’s friend ‘Retrokyu’ is also included and can be put on display floating beside her!

A big smile and a Japanese flag!

Definitely a pose that suits the ideals of spreading Japanese culture overseas! She also comes with two hands to hold the flag up just like this.

That carefree smile is also adorable! You can’t help but smile yourself!

A miniature itasha is also included!

Ah-hah! This must be the car that Kyojin-san was playing around with in the first picture! The car will come blank with a set of decals allowing you to customize the itasha however you like!

In the image Mirai-chan looks like she is riding in the car, but all I’ve done is removed her legs and placed her in the car – it looks quite fitting though!

Retrokyu fits in the car quite comfortably :P. The round design of Retrokyu really suits the way Nendoroids look – plus it’s super cute!

A Moekana Ver. Smile and Moekana!

The super popular ‘Moekana’ cards illustrated by Ikkyuu for learning hiragana! Another smiling expression based on Ikkyuu’s illustration is also included along with an arm holding a Moekana card!

A 1/8th scale pack of 50+ Moekana!!

They come on a sheet to be cut out, but to think you get a full set of Moekana is amazing!! The 6 cards you see above are also included as bonus cards – Sonico-chan is so cute!!

The expressions are great for swapping!

I decided to try swapping expressions with Haji-Miku-san! The Moekana expression will definitely work with pretty much any character!

The upset looking Mirai-chan in the back is also quite interesting. ^^;

Nendoroid Akari Akaza

I was in Osaka from the 10th to the 12th of August to help setup for the WonFes Japan Exhibition Tour! (`･ω･´)

(Although I can’t help but think I didn’t really help out all that much…)

I’m sorry she wasn’t at the event!!

Akarin was being used back at the Tokyo headquarters… but I thought I’d take a look at her today to make up for not having her at the event!

Nendoroid Akari Akaza!

From the anime with a second season currently airing, ‘YuruYuri’ comes a Nendoroid of Akari Akaza wearing her Nanamori Middle School uniform and striving to get noticed as always!! She comes with all sorts of extra parts allowing you to make many cute poses including the famous ‘Akariiin’ pose!

This is how she looks from the back!

The Nanamori uniform has a lovely design even from the back! I love the different shades of red – they really seem to suit the Nendoroid design too!!

The hole in her back is of course for an arm-stand to hold her up for display!

You can recreate the title call scene!

This is definitely one of the poses that just had to be included!! A winking expression, bent arm and pointing finger are included to make it possible. The short sleeves are also articulated for slightly varying poses!

Using the included bent leg and pointing finger parts you can recreate her rather embarrassing self-introduction scene!

Akari lost something rather important…

This is from the scene where Chinatsu takes Akari’s first kiss and leaves her in this dazed state. The expression makes her look like she has really lost all hope!

A separate hair bun part is included that allows you to pose her like this lying down with her bend her head just slightly to the left! You can tell the head pf this project was quite dedicated to making her amazing!!

Having her stand-up with the expression is quite scary!

Hair bazooka!!

You can even pose Akari firing off her hair buns as they did in her delusions. Just remove the hair buns and add the smoke, effect parts and hair buns in that order!

The smoke parts actually have a joint on them and can be moved up and down, so you can even choose the direction they are firing off at!
