Nendoroid Petite : Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000% on Display at animate Ikebukuro!

This weekend is a long weekend!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ）

How is everyone planning to spend their extra day this weekend? How about taking some figures outside for some photos? I definitely want to get to that some time but I think I’ll be spending my weekend hard at work! xD

Normally the blog would take the long weekend off as well, but…

There will be a special blog update tomorrow!!

I can’t say anything more at the moment, but check around noon Japan time tomorrow for a blog update!

I wasn’t too sure what to write today’s blog on, when Shuu-chan mentioned that he was going to the Ikebukuro animate store to take some photos of the UtaPuri Maji LOVE 1000% display. He offered to let me use the photos for today’s blog, and so here we go! I often go to animate in Akihabara, but I don’t often go to Ikebukuro so it interesting for me to see the photos too!

This is the 7th floor elevator!

While you wait for the elevator to come up and the doors to open, you get to enjoy the lovely gazes of all the princes! Apparently actually standing in front of it is quite the experience – I want to go myself now!!

They’re inside as well!?

There are even more princes inside the elevator! Ikebukuro animate is incredible!!! Not only were they at the back of the elevator, but on the side walls as well – it’s like walking into heaven for any fans of the series!

8th Floor: Videos and Games!

Games, CDs and DVDs all lined up for purchase! In the middle I also spy banner advertising Nendo Petite: Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%! Thank you animate!!

5th Floor: Character Goods!

Everything on these shelves is all UtaPuri goods?! Really?!

Seeing this many goods on display is quite the sight!!

With so many goods right in right in front me I don’t think I could help but go on a spending spree… although just looking at them all looks like it could be fun! I really want to go now…

Princes hanging from the roof!!

If all the goods aren’t enough for you, you can look up and have even more princes smiling down upon you! Just being at this animate store makes me think that no matter how tired I am I’d recover my HP and MP back to full!!

6th Floor: Figures & Toys!

Definitely the floor used by Good Smile Company the most! Another Nendo Petite advert can be found underneath the UtaPuri plushies released by Gift!

Ah! Here they are!!

Ooh, they are displayed very nicely! I’m sure they’ll be loved by lots of girls coming through the store!! These are the prototypes, and they are only on display at animate Ikebukuro. If you have time on the long weekend and you can get there, be sure to go and take a look!

We even got a quick interview with one of the staff members at the store – Ooshiro-san!!

Q1: How has the reaction to the UtaPuri campaign been?

There have been a lot more sales of the more expensive items like sheets and tapestries from the series. I’ve been wearing an apron covered in UtaPuri characters, so a lot of customers have been talking to me about it as well.

Q2: How about the reaction to the Nendoroid Petites?

They’re very popular! Lots of people have been inquiring about them, and most people that pass by the display will say they’re very cute!

Q3: What other UtaPuri products would you like to see?

I would love to see some figures of the main character, Haruka Nanami!

Ooshiro-san seems like a Otoya fan! ^^

The First Blog Title for The New Offices is…!

A Quick Look at This Month’s Rereleases!

Today’s blog has quite a few photos, so I’m just going to jump right into it today!

Today we’ll take a quick look at all the products announced for rerelease this month!

We all know that once a figure has been our for awhile it becomes incredibly to get hold of it… I’ve know there have been times I’ve just been unable to get a figure I wanted leaving me down in the dumps. If you wanted but missed out on any of these figures in the past, then don’t miss out this time around!

Shiki Ryougi Garannodou

Shiki is of course from ‘Kara no Kyoukai’, one of the the many famous TYPE-MOON series! A movie of “Mirai Fukuin’ has also officially been announced now – when I head that I was so excited that I just couldn’t sit still! (I hope we’ll see a rerelease of Nendo Shiki as well!)

What a beautiful figure!!

I am a huge Kara no Kyoukai fan, but even if I wasn’t I would want this figure – she just looks so lovely! It’s quite hard to see from this photo, but the kimono is covered is a really intricate pattern that looks absolutely stunning!

Definitely a figure you’ll regret missing if you’re a TYPE-MOON fan!

She will be rereleased in November 2012!

As you can see, the packaging was just as beautiful as the lovely Shiki! She is available for preorder at our partner shops now!

Nendoroid Saber Lion!

Another product that had one of the highest results on Good Smile’s 10th anniversary rerelease polls! Somehow her mane looks really tasty – it looks like some kind of doughnut! 😛

A rice bowl with a little lion on it is also included!

Plus she also comes with chopsticks and a leg of meat to help you pose her in some interesting situations. This lovely version of Saber was sculpted by none other than Hiro-san! He makes both scale figures and Nendoroids so well…!!

The rerelease version might also be changed to an arm-type stand instead of the one that you see in these photos, but there might be some problems that arise in manufacturing so we’ll have to see! As soon as there is a definite answer I’ll let you know!

figma Marisa Kirisame & figma Reimu Hakurei!

The figma Touhou series! Great figures along with a load of extras to play with! Both Marisa and Reimu are going to be available once again! Ooh, just look at Reimu’s cute little belly button in that photo!

That’s to their large skirts its really easy to put them in great poses very easily, so I highly recommend these two to any new figma collectors as well! Don’t miss out again!

Kiritsugu Emiya/Zero & Saber/Zero!

These two were released in 2008 by Max Factory and are going to be refined and rereleased with modifications to the expressions!

You can choose to either display her with Excalibur or without it. I love having small little options like this!

A very relaxed expression!

A very suiting expression to the Zero version of Saber, wearing her black suit from the series! I can just hear Ayako Kawasumi’s lovely voice saying “Madam!” when I see this figure.

Kiritsugu has his Thompson Contender!

It wouldn’t be a Kiritsugu figure without his beloved gun! This was made from Batayan from Max Factory – they are some really impressive figures!

Or have him hold a cigarette instead!

With just a quick switch of his hand the pose seems to change from a combat scene to a much more relaxed scene! I’m really not sure which way I would want to display him!

A real mischievous expression!

What a wonderful pose!! Those dull eyes with those lovely cheekbones and stubbly beard are all so wonderful!

Any Kiritsugu fan should enjoy this figure, but even just as a really awesome looking male figure he is great!

Kiritsugu Emiya/Zero and Saber/Zero will also be re-announced shortly on the GSC site!

1/7th Scale Tomo Asama

As I’ve mentioned a number of times before, GSC and Max Factory are now both working from the same offices!

…which means I can get hold of prototypes easier!

The Max Factory planning team is right next to the WEB team that I’m located in, so it’s really just a few steps away to try and get hold of some Max Factory goodies, just like this one!

From Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere:

Tomo Asama!

From the anime series ‘Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere’ comes a 1/7th scale figure of the only daughter of the Asama Shrine and Tori Aoi’s childhood friend, Tomo Asama!

She has one of the most appealing bodies of anyone in her class, which has been carefully sculpted in a sexy pose looking over her shoulder with a blushing expression.

This is how she looks from the back!

I’m sure most people who see her will quickly have their eyes drawn to certain parts of her body (in my case I couldn’t help but want to stroke her thighs).

But once you take a step back and admire the entire figure you’ll notice that there is a lot more to her – for example just take a look at her beautiful hair, her wings or even her futuristic sandals!

Her body makes a lovely S-shape!

She has such a sexy body and on top of that the outfit she is wearing makes it look all tight and touchable as well! It’s almost a sin how perfect she is! 😛

The red stockings also catches the light so nicely – just look at the way it shines off her thighs!

A lovely embarrassed expression!

As you’d expect from Max Factory, the overall quality is outstanding! The way her face is turned to the side along with the embarrassed look on it really gives off a wonderful feeling!

This must be the most erotic shot!

I honestly expected the photos after this one to give off more of a naughty vibe, but in the end I think this one has a very raunchy feeling to it.

The positioning of both her hands are key – the right hand is up supporting her breasts, while the left hand is down below supporting her… bow. 😛

What an incredible hip-line!

I personally find that looking at the hip-line from the back looks best with a slightly upper view. As you can also see from this shot, the wings on her back can be removed – if you don’t want to have any part of her body blocked with the wings then you can remove them whenever you like!

A wrapped up Tori is also included!

Tori is the main character in the series, who ends up wrapped up in cloth like this during the series. Definitely a bonus that fans of the series will enjoy! I wish I could use her thighs as a pillow like him!!

You can even create this rather interesting situation with a few exchangeable parts!

Apparently there was a scene like this in the original novel, so Machida-kun really wanted to make it possible to create it with the figure! It’s great that even though she is a scale figure you have quite a few different ways to display her!

Nendoroid Ricotta Elmar

This is Tori Bird’s desk!

He was out at the Type-Moon Festival over the weekend!

You can see he is a Type Moon fan with the Shiki Nendoroid on display right at the back of the photo! I can’t wait for the new Kara no Kyoukai chapter, ‘Gospel in the Future’ – it’s got cat ears!! 😀

There is also a prototype box at the front of the desk!

From DOG DAYS:

Nendoroid Ricotta Elmar!

From the fantasy anime set in the world of Flonyard, ‘DOG DAYS’ comes a figure of Ricotta Elmar, the genius inventor! Pose her hard at work inventing new things, or instead on the battlefield as an artillery expert!

What an adorable outfit and expression (*´ω`*)

I love those giant buttons on the hem of her shirt!

This is how she looks from the back!

As you can see from this picture, her cape can be completely removed, leaving her lovely little tail showing from the back! I love being able to change small parts of the outfit like that!

Let’s move onto the optional parts!

Firstly, books with arms to hold them!

As you’d expect of a genius inventor like Rico, she has a lot of books to read up on! You can also pose the legs like this to make it look like she is walking along with the books!

A determined face and saluting pose!

Using the bent right arm together this with expression makes it look just like she is saluting! If I had her in front of me while working, I think I’d be inspired to get through all my work for her! 😛

A crying expression and white flag!

Aww!! That expression is so sad, but at the same time it is absolutely adorable!!!

The cape has small openings around the shoulders to allow you to pose her with her arms up like this even while wearing the cape!

Emblem Arts effect parts and cannons!

Rico might be a more scholarly type, but that doesn’t mean she can’t take part on the battlefield as an artillery expert! She comes with effect parts for her Emblem Arts magic as well as four miniature cannons to fire on her enemies!

Each of the cannons stands on its own, so you can put them wherever you like!

I’m still having trouble remembering where everything here on the 17th floor is, but at least I’ve managed to find something for today’s blog. The first review with pictures taken in the new offices will be…

From ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’:
Nendoroid Spider-Man Hero’s Edition!

From the world famous ‘Spider-Man’ series comes a fully posable Nendoroid of Spider-Man in his outfit from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’. All the finest details of his outfit have been added in Nendoroid size!

Who would have thought Spidey would make it into the Nendoroid world! Plus he is a part of the extra special and posable ‘Edition Series’! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ )

He is made to be fully posable so you can recreate all of your favorite action scenes and poses from the films or comics!

This is how he looks from the back!
As you can see he makes use of an amazing texture!

It really looks (and feels?) just like the texture of Spider-Man’s costume! This was done by first sculpting the Nendoroid from a normal material, and then applying the spiderweb design using 3D data afterwards. The cooperation between a normal sculptor and a 3D sculptor shines once again!

A diorama pedestal is also included!

A completely new kind Nendoroid stand! It lets you pose him swinging from his web above the night streets of New York! The arm included with the stand is much longer than normal to allow for midair poses like this one!

The diorama is really nice quality as well!

The use of the gradient to create the night light effect is really pretty! You could also use this stand with any other Nendoroid that make use of an arm-type stand, which could make for some interesting scenes!

You can pose about to shoot out his web!

It just wouldn’t be Spider-Man if you couldn’t pose him like this! You can also create the pose of him swinging just like this by placing his thighs, knees and ankles at the right angles. Even for me who is normally terrible at making poses, this wasn’t too hard to accomplish!

Or even pose him shooting the web!

This is done with a quick swap of his hand parts to another set which is shooting out the web! Now it really feels like Spider-Man! Great job, Eno-kun!

You can choose to pose him with both hands shooting web like the above picture, or of course just use one for a swinging pose!

Good Smile Company Has Moved to the Skytree! (･∀･)ﾉ

Skytree East Tower 17th Floor!

GSC, Max Factory and Phat! Company have all moved to this floor of the Skytree! (`･ω･´)

I accidentally caught Aesop-san running across the hallway, but it gives everyone a good feeling for the size of the passage! Apparently late at night the standard entrance is closed which makes it seem like quite a dungeon at times, the size also adds to that – trying to remember where everything is here on the 17th floor is still a bit foreboding….

But Oonoshi has created a map of the new offices!
Phew! The snacks are not too far!! But anyway, today I’ll be running around the offices to take some photos while taking a look at this map!

This is the main entrance!

It’s just a little to the right after you get off the elevator. There is a phone placed at the entrance for guests to contact the relevant department from the entrance.

We received lots of flowers!

The Good Smile face at the back is made of flowers as well! It’s so cute!! Because it was three companies all moving at once, we ended up with a huge number of flowers!

The offices look like a flower store!

I really love flowers, just looking at them when I come past makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! A big thank you to everyone who sent flowers to congratulate the company!

These are the meeting rooms!

It’s a bit hard to see from these pictures, but the circles on the doors have a Good Smile mark on them! In the past we’ve had far too little space for meetings and some staff would sometimes end up having meetings on the floor – but now we have much more space!

The inner meeting room has a beautiful view!

Both of the side walls are made from glass, so you can see very clearly! I’m fairly certain this room will become the most popular meeting room!

This is left from the entrance!

Each staff member has a locker which is what you can see all lined up here! We need to store documents, figure samples and goods so there really is a need for this much space! No matter how much space there is it never seems like enough!

This area is free space at the moment!

The chairs and tables from the old Good Smile Cafe are being used here by the window for staff to get together and have smaller meet ups. The sun shines through the window which I bet will feel great in the Winter months!

By the way, these photos were half taken in the afternoon and half in the evening, which explains why the saturation is so different between pictures… sorry about that!

These are all desks for the staff!

All the staff besides the sculptors are all together in this area to work! Running from one end of the desks to the other is actually quite tiring – perhaps the new offices will lead to me getting a bit more exercise!

We have lots of shelf space above the desks!

How each staff member chooses to make use of their desk space and shelf space is entirely up to them! I’ve made a threeA corner, a Miku corner and a Panda corner! (`･ω･´)

The prototype storage area!

Easily one of the most important areas!!! (ﾟДﾟ;）

Next to the prototype shelves there is a giant fridge or ice maker or something. I’m really not sure why, so we’ll just ignore that for now. 😛

The president’s office has glass windows and tatami mat flooring!

You can see a faint outline of the actual Skytree tower just outside the window! The windows are all fitted with blinds, but the view is just too nice to block it off with blinds! I’m situated at the WEB team’s section, which is the closest to the president’s office! (・∀・)ノ

Time to infiltrate the studios!

The passages to each room always have glass windows like this so that all of the staff can always see other staff – it really brings everyone together nicely!

This is GSC & Phat!’s Studios!

This is where all the sculptors are hard at work making new figures for everyone! I’ll need to go through very quietly to make sure I don’t bother them…

A silver pipe stretches across the room!

These pipes suck in all the unclean air and replace it with clean air! It’s (kind of) like Nausicaä!

Sculptors hard at work for WonFes!

Yep! Even with all the excitement of moving, we can’t forget that WonFes is coming up this month – easily one of the busiest time for sculptors here at GSC!

The 3D Team’s room!

Most of the pedestals and bases for figures are made here, plus there are more and more full digital figures being made as well now! They pair up with a sculptor to get the best of both techniques and create beautiful figures faster than ever before!

The small room next door has a couple of interesting machines!

The blue vinyl sheet at the back gives the room a strangely imposing feeling…

This is the ‘Digital Wax’!

It’s a high-end 3D printer! It basically prints out 3D data directly from the PC! One of these machines is rather expensive (probably the cost of a few cars) but this one has definitely been put to good work! I hope we can get a second one for even more 3D printing sometime…

This is an example of what it can do!

When it is first printed it comes out a blue color, but this one has already been coated in a surfacer. The lamination layer that is considered the weak point of 3D printing is hardly even visible at this point!

This machine is the ‘Perfactory’!

I introduced this machine in a previous article some time ago, it is also a 3D printer. I think I should do an article that explains the difference between this one and the Digital Wax at some point… I’m really not sure what the difference is at the moment!

The storage room for sculpting tools!

There are all sorts of tools I’ve never even seen before in here! To think that there figures are made from just these tools and the skills of the sculptors!

Aesop-san is now taking me…
to the Max Factory studios!

I hope I’m not interrupting anything too important. Every room requires a security card to enter and exit, so if anyone forgets it they are locked out completely!

Here we have Max Factory’s studio!

Max Factory have been always had their studio in North Matsudo – it is their first move in ten years! It was the first ever move for the Max Factory staff, so I’m sure it must have been quite a lot of work. (This was the 4th move for me!)

The lovely figures are all created here!

It’s amazing to see everyone hard at work up close! I think I’ll have to sneak in here and watch over people’s shoulders when I have some spare time…! 😛

Even more mysterious machines!

At the back you can also see one of the sculptors, Kitade, jumping up for the photo! Everyone here at GSC and Max Factory are such nice people, I’m really glad to be working here!

MAX Watanabe-san!

Yesterday was his 50th birthday! Happy Birthday MAX-san!! The staff all got together to celebrate his special day! Seen we now work in the same building and same floor, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other! (*´ω`*)

GSC, Max Factory and Phat! Company will all be giving their best from their new base!

From the popular anime series, “Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%’ comes a set of the princes to join the adorable Nendoroid Petite series of figures! There are seven to collect including one secret character!

Each of the characters is posed in a way that really brings out their personality so you can keep the princes by your side whenever you like! ♪

We had a quick look at them yesterday, let’s take a closer look now!

This is how they look from the back!

Even from the back you can see all the unique characteristics of each of the princes! Just look at Tokiya’s pointy hair from the back! A lot of them even have a gradient applied to their hair!

The three from A-Class!

One of the best things about the Nendoroid Petite series is that it is quick and cheap to get hold of a whole collection of characters! They’re just ¥500 for one, so you can grab each for just one coin!

The three from S-Class!

They’re all wearing the same Academy’s uniform, but each of them wears it in a different way – the sculptor must have had to sculpt all the bodies up from scratch! That did give us figures that each have their own special something though!

I can hear everyone shouting that on the other side of the monitor…. ^^;
I’ll be taking pictures of each prince displayed with another prince so you can get a better look at each of them!

Tokiya Ichinose and Otoya Ittoki!

When you display two of them together like this it really makes it seem more like the characters are actually there! The best thing about figures is that you can actually touch them and place them wherever you like – they’re really there!!

The actual stands on the product version will be much smaller, so you’ll be able to pose them even closer than this. You could display them in a display case, or just keep them by your side and change their positions each and every day!

Masato Hijirikawa and Ren Jinguuji!

The two sons of big families! Seeing the two of them together makes me want to get hold of a small melon bread extra to recreate the purchasing scene…

The necks, arms and shoulders are posable!

That means the face can be moved around left and right and the arms can be moved up and down to create a slightly different feeling for different scenes! Even though they’re so small there are so many options to play with! (`･ω･´)

Natsuki Shinomiya and Syo Kurusu!

As I mentioned yesterday, Syo-chan’s hat can be removed and attached whenever you like! Natsuki, Otoya and Tokiya all have a very thin gold lining on their jackets which looks spectacular – seeing such amazing detail on such small figures always impresses me!!

Their expressions are also very detailed!

Finally an entire set of Nendoroid Petites that are all male! I think that UtaPuri fans will be very satisfied with the amount of detail that went into them – I know the expressions went through a ton of adjustments over and over again to get them looking perfect – they each really grasp the character’s personality!

Nendoroid Petite : Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 1000%

The Skytree—!!!

GSC, Max Factory and Phat! Company have finished their move to the Skytree! (`･ω･´)

This is a picture taken from the president’s office! Quite an impressive view!!

We’re still settling down at the new offices, but we are starting work up again today. I’ll post a blog all about the new offices once everything has settled down a little more, but in the meantime I’ll take a look at this prototype that I grabbed before the move even started! (I’m glad I did, as I’d never be able to find them in the mountains of boxes at the moment!)

Nendoroid Petite :

They are each about 6.5cm in height – just compare them to the size of the mouse and keyboard and you’ll get a good idea of the size. There is of course also a secret character!

Otoya Ittoki from A Class!

He is posed holding his headphones in one hand with a lovely smile that shows off his cheerful personality! I also love the way his tie is a little loose!

Masato Hijirikawa from A Class!

The eldest son of the Hikirikawa Group! This was the first character I finished the game with, so he has a special place in my heart! I love the argyle pattern on his jersey!

Natsuki Shinomiya from Class!

The warm atmosphere that Natsuki brings about is captured with the Nendoroid perfectly! I have this urge to try to take his glasses off, but we’ll have to wait for the final product to see if that’ll be possible! His rather difficult to sculpt hairstyle has also been shrunk into Nendoroid form nicely!

Tokiya Ichinose from S Class!

He is sculpted with his arms folded in a very stylish pose! I think all of them are sculpted incredibly, but Tokiya really seems to capture the character the best of them all! (There are lots of Tokiya fans at GSC who were very glad to see how he came out! :P)

Ren Jinguuji from S Class!

As soon as I could just hear him saying ‘Lady’ in my head… Ren has a fairly mature looking pose that suits him well. The long fringe and slightly open shirt are great!

Syo Kurusu from S Class!

Syo is super cute in the series and even cuter as a Nendoroid! His hat can be attached and removed for some extra posing options as well!! I think I’ll feel happier everyday having that straight-forward gaze and lovely smile next to me at my desk.
