Kahotan Post Office: Autumn & Figures 2016 Edition – Part 1

Foreign words are so difficult to read!! (Which is the main reason I decided to major in Japanese history instead of world history!)

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at some of the photos that fans have been sending in to become my next Twitter header!! A big thank you to everyone who sent in photos! The theme this time around was…

Autumn and Figures!

Even though we are already a few days into October I’m still wearing short sleeves most of the time! But the mornings and evenings are definitely starting to cool down now which means I think we’re properly into Autumn now! (/ω＼)

That said, I’ve been in Autumn for ages thanks to everyone’s lovely Autumn themed photos! Every photo that got delivered to my email made me feel Autumn was another step closer!! A big thanks to everyone who sent in photos!!! Today I’m going to be taking a look at some of them!

It’s almost Halloween and I wanted to do something special, so I found some pumpkins for Elsie! It’s nothing much, but I wanted to capture that warm atmosphere you get around autumn and Halloween.

The warm colors make for such a lovely atmosphere! The fact that you can see the pumpkins hidden around her make for such a work of art! ♥

This time around its Fujiya-related! Milky and Pop Candy are nice and all, but I like things a little richer! Something like the vanilla flavoured Country Ma’am cookies♪

Taken in Singapore Botanic Garden – I wanted to take a very “cool” looking photo and I thought Rin with autumn scene is the perfect combination to do that ^^

The second year students are all together watching the sunset! I can just imagine them getting together after practice to chat and relax a bit!! (´□｀｡)

The first and second photo are of cosmos flowers, one of the most recognizable Autumn flowers! The third and fourth were taken last year when I went to Nakajima Park in Sapporo to see the Autumn leaves. You can enjoy the leaves from late October to early November in Sapporo – I highly recommend it!

I received a total of four lovely photos from Yassun, but only have two of them here – one of each! ☆

Cosmos fields are beautiful put have a somewhat fleeting feeling about them… they do capture the Autumn scenery beautifully though! The second photo with the lovely Autumn leaves as well as the reflection of them is also beautiful! The red also matches with the red on Yamato’s outfit beautifully! ♡

Such a big pumpkin in the garden!! Wow!! Miku-san is surrounded by nature like a little Halloween fairy that looks ready to jump to life!! (∩・∀・)∩

Osomatsu-niisan went out to catch some fish to appease his Autumn appetite… but it seems he wasn’t able to catch anyting and get got a bit frustrated! (；・`ω・´)

The timid and shy Yukiho Hagiwara (萩原雪歩) from the iDOLM@STER series. This figure from phat captivated me with its dynamic pose and fine detail. I tried to add a background which fits her pose.

I just got creative and took this shot at home because we don’t have autumn here 🙁
Dunno if this is valid, but it’s worth a shot 🙂

Autumn Twitter Header Image & Nendoroid More: Wood Series!

Autumn is the season of chestnut and sweet potato snacks! It’s one of those seasons where the snack section of the convenience stores calls out to me more than usual!

Anyway, now that we are into September I wanted to remind everyone that I’m currently looking for a new header image for my Twitter account! This time around the theme of the photo must be Autumn related!

Kahotan Post Office: Summer & Figures 2016 Edition – Part 2

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

I have recently become quite addicted to tokoroten! Just combine the included flavouring with lots of Japanese peppers and a blend of spices and it makes for such an amazing food!!

Anyway, today I’m going to be continuing to look at some of the photos that were went in to Kahotan Post Office! You can find the previous post below!

The theme this time around was…
Summer & Figures!!

We are already into August! Is everyone enjoying their Summer?! I have started sleeping with the air-con on, increased by daily ice-cream intake to two per day and enjoyed all the signs in stores saying they have started serving chilled Chinese noodles! I even saw a fireworks festival the other day! …on the news!

Good Smile Company will also be attending various events including the upcoming Comic Market! Take a look at the event information page for more details!

I completed my doll house in time for the Summer and snapped a photo to commemorate. There is nothing that says Summer more like enjoying some watermelon on the veranda!

I can just imagine the bells jingling in the wind and the smell of mosquito repellent! Hiei is really enjoying the ideal image of Summer in Japan here!!

I went on a trip to New York and visited the fountain that appeared in the LoveLive! movie. Rin-chan and Kayochin are enjoying some ice cream by the fountain!

No matter where you go in Summer it’s always so very hot….
It’s days like that that I really enjoy some ice-cream together with Snow Miku-san in a nice air conditioned car. I’m glad that Snow Miku seems so cheerful even through the Summer! (^^♪

Because I couldn’t go to the beach, I made a beach diorama for my Nendoroid Sakura and Tomoyo to enjoy the summer.

I also haven’t had the chance to go to the beach this year, but just looking at Sakura-chan and Tomoyo-chan enjoying the beach makes me feel like I’ve also enjoyed a lovely time at the beach!

Just looking at the photos I could often hear the cicadas crying… I could smell the sea and feel the warmth of the sunlight through everyone’s photos!

I went down to enjoy the green of Summer at the local park with Sakura-san. Nature really is beautiful in the Summer!

Sakura-san with her hair blowing in the wind! She looks so beautiful!! Places with lots of green also often have nice shade which make for the perfect place to sit and relax on a hot Summer day! ε=(｡・д・｡)

Nendoroid Levi, Nendoroid Levi: Cleaning Ver., Nendoroid Yukimura Sanada enjoying some delicious Summer fruits!

July and August are the months for watermelon and melon, Yukimura went and harvested them and Levi cute them up for everyone! You can see just how happy Yukimura is to see the cut melon!! Or perhaps he was just impressed with Levi’s cutting skills! Cleaning Levi was invited by Yukimura on the way in and is just standing on the side watching over the cutting.

After this they all enjoyed the watermelon and melon together, Yukimura went back to his training and Levi went back to cleaning up.

I took Yukata Miku with me to a temple in Uji known for its hydrangeas – Mimurotoji! It really was just a sea of beautiful hydrangeas!

I also tried the mixture of Snow Miku and hydrangeas and it looked a lot better than I expected so I took some photos of her too!


Under B sent in two different Miku & Hydrangea photos, but I couldn’t decide which one I liked so I decided to add both of them! The deep, gentle colors of the flowers really match with Miku nicely! ♡

I saw the rain clouds up in the sky this morning and realised we’re well into the rainy season now!

We’re already close to half-way through June!!

A Japan-Taiwan Collaboration Video Project – Thunderbolt Fantasy!

In Taiwan, these glove puppetry performances are known and enjoyed by young and old alike. Nitroplus’s Gen Urobuchi will be working together one of the most well known puppetry series producers in Taiwan, ‘PILI’ to create a unique collaboration series – a martial-arts fantasy series with both Japanese and Taiwan culture incorporated in the design and story – Thunderbolt Fantasy! Good Smile Company will take part in the project as an adviser to the sculpting of the puppets!

Look forward to the unique series featuring a blend of Taiwan’s traditional culture and Japan’s unique content!

The theme this time around is ‘Spring and Figures‘!

Spring is in full bloom so I take Nendoroids with me outside more.

Last year when I was moving jobs overseas I had a long weekend to go see the sakura!

It was also the time I had just got my new Sakura Miku-san, so I took her out with me to enjoy the sakura together! Whenever I see Spring overseas, I always think to myself that Spring in Japan is definitely the most beautiful. This year I’m sure I’ll get some more Spring photos with my Miku! (^_^)

I went on a trip to Kyoto for the Touken Ranbu collaboration, and the plum blossoms at Kitano Tenmangu were just starting to flower so I took a photo of them together with Mikazuki-san! I think he is quite happy to see them!

I’m sending a photo of Nendoroid Rin Shibuya which I took while I was on vacation up north of the Philippines (side note: I live in the Philippines as well, but I live in the central area of Luzon. This was taken in Northern Luzon) on the first week of January.

I was walking  near the seashore and I just couldn’t resist taking the shot (it was really a beautiful place)

I called this the perfect date because it isn’t that often that you get to see the beach. Plus, you can take some time for yourself to do some “Soul Searching” just so you can find what your purpose in life is.. Or something along those lines. 😛

Kahotan Post Office: Winter Edition – Part 2

I had some akashiyaki over the weekend for the first time in ages and was reminded of their deliciousness. The fluffiness is like a ball of happiness! *nom* (๑´ㅂ`๑) *nom*

Anyway, today I’m going to be continuing the Kahotan Post Office from last week! You can find the last part of this blog over here: Kahotan Post Office: Winter Edition – Part 1

The theme this time around was ‘Winter & Figure‘!! A big thank you to everyone who took the time to send me their photos! Every single one of them captured Winter so nicely in various different situations! As I have already announced over on Twitter, the photo I selected for my Twitter header was this lovely photo from Ooga!

She fell asleep while waiting for the Admiral to come home. This is definitely my best photo I have taken this year.

It’s the perfect sign of Winter for me!! I can just imagine how she must have slowly become more sleepy while for the Admiral to come home, until eventually giving in! Just looking at her puts a smile on my face! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

I went on a date with Miku-san to see the Autumn leaves on Arashiyama in Kyoto. The sceney filled with Autumn colors was beautiful, but Miku-san was just as beatiful. My friend also brought a Nendoroid along when we came, so I guess this was actually a double date!

I’m finally starting to recover from a slight cold I’ve had over the past few days! I hope everyone is taking care as it gets colder!!

I couldn’t think of anything to photograph for the winter theme, but just then my local shopping center brought in the Christmas lights! I decided to take Akitsushima-chan to go see them and take photos! Rensouhou-kun also came along!

Nothing says Winter more than Snow Miku! I took this photo awhile back when Kantou had quite a huge snowstorm! Even Snow Miku was surprised with the amount of snow!! ( ꒪⌓꒪)

A photo taken at a date spot I went to in Da-nang, Vietnam with Snow Miku! I wasn’t sure if this suited the Winter theme or the Dating theme – but the lights in the background give a nice Christmasy feeling, so I decided it worked for Winter!! (^_^)

The lights reflecting off the water have a really mystical feeling to them!! ♥︎ The Christmas light season has really started in all sorts of places now, I need to go out and see some for myself some time as well!!

For me Winter always means it is time for a big clean-up of the house! So I decided to pose Suzuya and Kumano doing some Winter cleaning! You can just imagine Kumano saying something like “Me? Clean? No way!” but I’m sure she’ll help out in the end!

This is a photo I took back in July when she arrived, right in my own home. I took this photo because I’ve always imagined Snow Miku in a pose like this.

I’m a Canadian and my brother and I love collecting Nendoroids! (Particularly Touhou Nendoroids in my brother’s case!)

This Perfect Date photo was taken in my brother’s ‘Nendoroid Zone’! My Suiginto-tan and his Shinku-chan are enjoying a tea time date! My brother tells me the scenario, and I arrange the figures and take the photos.

Today is the 11th November! Pocky Day! The Nisekoi girl’s decided to cosplay as magical girls and enjoy some Pocky together! I dressed Marika up as Nagisa seen their voice actors were the same… it turned out way cuter than I expected!

The other day I went to Machi Asobi and decided to take my Nendoroid Yamto with me. We climbed Mount Bizan and just before the summit there was a lovely filed of cosmos flowers… I decided it was Yamato’s time to shine and I took her out for some photos.

It ended up as such a lvoely background for her! I really felt like I was out on a date with Yamato-san! ^^

I’ve only ever really enjoyed my figures at home, but seeing all the outdoor photos from other people made me decide to take Eren out for a bit myself! I’ve taken photos in all sorts of different places, but when I got into my hotel I thought the nightscape looked really beautiful so decided to take a photo there too! ♪

The lights in the room made reflections so I had to turn out the lights and had quite some trouble taking the photo, but I think Eren came out looking awesome in the end! I hope you think so too…! (^-^;
