Lately I’ve been wanting to make some again, but it’s so stressful when it’s time to flip them!

Anyway, today I’ll be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Yotsuba Koiwai

From the internationally renowned manga “YOTSUBA&!” comes a Nendoroid of the energetic and free-spirited Yotsuba Koiwai! She comes with a total of 5 face plates including a standard expression, a smiling expression, a mad expression, a crying expression and a vacant expression.

For optional parts, she comes with her teddy bear Juralumin, her bag, a paint can and a paintbrush. Yotsuba can also be posed hugging Juralumin. Sitting parts are also included for even more adorable display options.

Be sure to add the girl who makes every day the most enjoyable day, Yotsuba, to your collection! Display with Nendoroid Danbo (sold separately) for even more fun!

“What are we gonna play today?”

From Kiyohiko Azuma’s popular manga “YOTSUBA&!” comes a Nendoroid of the curious 5-year-old who lives with her dad: Yotsuba Koiwai!

Her unique hairstyle, round face and energetic eyes have been carefully recreated in Nendoroid form! ☆

Her teddy bear Juralumin is also included as an optional part! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

▲When the Nendoroid is actually released, Juralumin will be supported by a special stand and support arm! (The hole in the back is for the support arm.)

Seeing Yotsuba cry while tightly gripping Juralumin… ( ；∀；) I just want to run over and comfort her!

Yotsuba’s occasionally shown blank expression. ◎

Those pure, wondrous eyes. They have a strange power to them.

As you may have noticed, sitting parts are also included, allowing you pose Yotsuba exactly how you’d like! ヾ(´∀`*)ﾉ

(My personal favorite is her crying expression!)

Nendoroid Danbo

From the internationally renowned manga “YOTSUBA&!” comes a Nendoroid of the cardboard costume Danbo! The ecological, earth-friendly robot has been carefully brought down to Nendoroid size.

Same as in the manga, Danbo’s eyes light up with a flick of a switch on the side of the cardboard robot’s head. Display with Nendoroid Yotsuba Koiwai (sold separately) to enjoy “YOTSUBA&!” even more!

The 10th anniversary of Snow Miku! We present this special memorial version of Snow Miku to you.

2019 marks the 10th anniversary of Snow Miku, and the 2019 design was once again selected by fans through online votes between a selection of outfits all submitted to piapro by fans! This year the theme was “Princess of the Hokkaido Winter”, and the winning Snow Miku design was this version based on illustrations by -L F-! The design has now been converted into this beautiful Nendoroid!

Her unique twintails have been carefully sculpted to give them a whimsical appearance. She comes with three face plates including her gentle standard expression, a curious blank expression and a lovable smiling expression. A freestanding figure of Rabbit Yukine is included as well. Kanan Matsuura: Blu-ray Jacket Ver. (LoveLive!Sunshine!!)

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

Kanan Matsuura: Blu-ray Jacket Ver.

From the anime series “Love Live!Sunshine!!” comes a 1/7th scale figure of Kanan Matsuura based on the illustration that was used as a jacket illustration for one of the Blu-rays of the first season!

Kanan smiling face is turned toward you as though speaking to you. You can feel her laid back personality. Kanan’s flowing hair has been carefully sculpted, presented with a detailed level of gradation.

The outside of her wetsuit features a glossy appearance, while the different texture of the inside is also clearly displayed. The contrast between this and her bare skin is just one of many highlights of this figure! Be sure to add her to your collection!

Nendoroid Shinya Kogami (PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System)

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Shinya Kogami

From the anime film series “PSYCHO-PASS: Sinners of the System” comes a Nendoroid of the former Enforcer of the Public Safety Bureau, Shinya Kogami. He comes with three face plates including his sharp standard expression, a shouting expression and a smoking expression.

He comes with his revolver, assault rifle, dog tags, cigarette and zippo lighter as optional parts. Be sure to add him to your collection!

On the Other Side of Love and Hate

The muscular and sharp former enforcer Shinya Kogami has been transformed into an adorable Nendoroid!

Everything from his unique hairstyle and toned body, to his sharp gaze and composed demeanor has been faithfully recreated! (ﾉ｀・∀・)ﾉ

He comes with several optional parts including his revolver and assault rifle!

 

Combine with his shouting expression to create intense scenes and situations!

By the way, the holster on his right thigh can be changed to be display his revolver holstered or unholstered!

A fitting smoking expression is also included for heavy smoker Shinya, as well as a strong though sorrowful standard expression! (｡･д･)ﾉﾞ

I wonder what he’s thinking about while gazing at his zippo lighter like that!

Nendoroid Shintaro Midorima (Kuroko’s Basketball)

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Shintaro Midorima

From “Kuroko’s Basketball”, the ace of Shutoku High, Shintaro Midorima, has been transformed into a Nendoroid! He comes with three face plates including his composed standard expression, his gentle smiling expression and a surprised expression.

For optional parts, he comes with a basketball, his lucky stuffed bear and a can of red bean soup. Have fun recreating scenes of him on and off the court! Be sure to add him to your collection!

“My limit… I passed it long ago.”

“Man proposes, God disposes.” The stoic shooting guard Shintaro Midorima has been transformed into a Nendoroid! ★

His long eyelashes, orange Shutoku High uniform and flowing green hair have all been recreated to perfection! ♪

▲It’s a bit hard to see here, but his number “6” is faithfully shown on his back!

Take a look at what’s in his hand, too! ٩( ᐛ )و

Yep! You can see his left hand is taped and he is holding his stuffed bear!

Midorima, a believer in Oha Asa’s horoscopes, comes with one of his lucky items as an optional part!◎

The attention to detail taken in sculpting the little bear is another highlight! ★

In order to enjoy recreating scenes of Midorima on the court, he also comes with untaped hand parts for holding the basketball as well! (*´꒳`*)

Final Post of 2018! A Look Back on the Year with Aki-san!

As with most years, I’ll be talking with Good Smile Company CEO Aki-san to close out the year!

Around the start of this year, the company GOODSMILE FILM was established!

While we didn’t call much attention to it, we did add an anime publishing company to the collective Good Smile Company. Responsible for planning and creating anime.

This season, GOODSMILE FILM had a hand in the making of three shows: GOBLIN SLAYER, IRODUKU: The World in Colors and Merc StoriA: The Apathetic Boy and the Girl in the Bottle!

Our associated joint holding company ULTRA SUPER PICTURES works with affiliated anime production studios (TRIGGER / Sanzigen / Liden Films, etc.), while GOODSMILE FILM works with outside studios to make anime. It’s great that we’re working with more and more companies. It gives Good Smile Company more options to work with great people in the industry.

 Then, in Spring, Good Smile Arts Shanghai was established!

It’s the Shanghai branch of Good Smile Company. The company was born out of a necessity to meet the demands of the Chinese market, while wanting to create a team present in the actual locale.

Recently you may have seen the Good Smile Arts Shanghai logo on some product pages for products from Chinese contents!◎

Yes, I would be thrilled if you took a look at that section and thought, “Ah, this is Good Smile Arts Shanghai!” It is with that revitalized feeling that I want our customers to view our products.   The aim of Good Smile Company is to bring Japanese works to the world, while the aim of Good Smile Arts Shanghai is to bring Chinese works to the world and the aim of Good Smile US is to bring American works to the world. Of course, one of our goals is expanding our market, but we also want to bring content and creators from each area out into the greater world through figures and merchandising. From those three positions, we hope to be a driving force in spreading content throughout the world through merchandising.

On top of all of this, last month Good Smile Partners was also founded!

Fundamentally, Good Smile Partners is an investment company, but to simply say we’ll invest and then profit isn’t quite right… The mentality we want to take with Good Smile Partners is that of co-creation. Of course, Good Smile Company is involved in the planning, manufacturing and sale of figures, but we work on a variety of other projects as well. We wanted to take that collaboration and investment aspect of the company and create Good Smile Partners.

So you’re saying that rather than venturing out into a new business, the goal was to take an existing aspect of Good Smile Company and split it into an easier-to-understand, separate company?

Yes, Good Smile Company generally speaking creates products, while Good Smile Partners will be creating new teams and new companies. Through this we want to slightly expand what Good Smile Company is capable of doing. We have talented people working at this, so if you have any ideas, please take a look at our Good Smile Partners application form!

While our 2018 has been filled with new business, it’s been filled with new products as well! ♪

Capsule Toy Series

 We started pushing the Pioykuru line and other capsule toys this year! We challenged ourselves in making a bit more of an accessible product line-up. Originally born from ideas within the company, we’ve been able to achieve an incredibly diverse line-up. Through capsule toys, we’ve been able to work with series’ that are difficult to turn into figures, such as “Tanuki and Kitsune” and “Puyo Puyo”. Thanks to the hard work of the people in charge of this product line-up, we’ve been able to create an environment where we can take on these challenges. We’re still working on developing the line-up, so it’s easy for us to take action when we hear things like “I want this kind of product!” from fans!

While increasing the variety of Good Smile products, new ways to play with our products have been developed as well! Such as Nendoroid Doll, a series that had its first release this year!

⇒What is Nendoroid Doll?

Thanks to everyone’s continued support of the Nendoroid product line, we’ve been able to branch out in creating the Nendoroid Doll series. With your own customizations and arrangements, you can create a Nendoroid special to you and also create new ways to play with your Nendoroids. The more we can create those fun opportunities for our fans, the happier I’ll be.

There’s also Nendoroid dolls of established characters and outfit sets available. (`・ω・´)

Speaking of dolls, this year marked the first release of a product of the Harmonia bloom brand!

The capsule toys, Nendoroid Doll and Harmonia bloom are all product lines that have been managed and implemented by relatively younger members of the planning team! The person in charge of the “Harry Potter” series products is quite young as well. I think it’s great, young people have a lot of potential and create interesting products.

Is there anything else you were interested in this year?
(By the way, last year’s answer was “Kizuna AI”!)

I think SSSS.GRIDMAN has been very interesting! It’s been exciting to look forward to every week, and every episode seems to give you a lot to think about. It’s fun to watch it alone, and I think it’s also quite fun to then discuss it with others. I sincerely look forward to it every week. I’ve really been wondering how the series will end in the last episode, so I’ve made sure to not get any information about it from the people involved with the series or from anyone over at TRIGGER! I can’t wait for the last episode.

Ah, really? I can’t wait! There’s been a lot of excitement for it in general at the company, so much that we’ve even planned “SSSS.GRIDMAN” toys. I hate to pick just one series out of all of the great works that have come out this year, but for me it’s been one of the most captivating works I’ve seen this year.

Finally, what are you hoping for in 2019?!

2019 will finally see the release of Nendoroid #1000. Although right now, Nendoroid #1000 is still a secret. In some way, I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported us all the way to Nendoroid #1000. I hope our fans attentively watch the new ventures, new companies and new products we have coming in 2019 as well. Next year also marks a memorial year for contents that we’ve been involved with for a long time, so I hope to be able to make it an exciting year while expressing my gratitude to them.

How was your year, everyone?

I think one of my most memorable parts of this year was being able to work with the Takarazuka Revue! ◎

From the anime series with a movie releasing on the 4th of January, “Made in Abyss”, comes Nendoroids of Riko and Reg!

They’ve been brought down to Nendoroid size while maintaining their characteristic appearances from the show!

These are the second and third Made in Abyss Nendoroids following Nendoroid Nanachi! (๑•̀ㅁ•́๑)

Nendoroid Akane Shinjo

From the anime series “SSSS.GRIDMAN” comes a Nendoroid of the kaiju-loving Akane Shinjo! She comes with three face plates including her innocent standard expression, a mischievous smiling expression and her weary expression!

For optional parts she comes with everyday items like her juice box and smartphone, along with her utility knife, headphone/glasses front hair parts and bare leg parts to display her as though in her room. Her models of the Ghoulghilas and the Dévadadan along with a monitor with Alexis displayed on it! Be sure to add her to your collection!

From the popular anime series “SSSS.GRIDMAN” comes an adorable Nendoroid of Akane Shinjo!

Her cute poses and expressions have been captured in Nendoroid form!

There’s a bit of a gap between the typical Akane and this expression.

Next, we have her utility knife, headphones/glasses front hair part, and bare leg parts.

Let’s take a look at these parts one-by-one! First… her bare legs!

The bare leg parts provide a bit of a different aura than her stockings!

Though small, Akane really sculpted it well!

Nendoroid Sho Fu Kan (Thunderbolt Fantasy Sword Seekers 2)

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Sho Fu Kan

From the martial-arts fantasy glove puppetry series “Thunderbolt Fantasy Sword Seekers 2” comes a Nendoroid of the vagrant swordsman Sho Fu Kan!

He comes with three different face plates including his dignified standard expression, a chibi expression based on the character drawn by Yuupon as well as a beautiful expression based on the actual glove puppet used in the series!

Optional parts include his dull-edged sword, his umbrella and the Maken Mokuroku scroll. Be sure to add him to your collection!

The vagrant swordsman who traveled from Seiyu to Tori, “Jin Muho”

From the currently airing Thunderbolt Fantasy Sword Seekers 2 comes a Nendoroid of Sho Fu Kan!

Everything from his characteristic hairstyle to the fine details of his mild-colored outfit has been recreated with great care!

▲The metallic appearance of his hair decorations and the feathers in his hair are another feature! ( `･∀･´)σ

With the included interchangeable parts…

…you can display him with his sword drawn, like this!

His dull-edged sword, also known as Namakura Gatana, is included! As you can see, it is in fact quite dull! ( ・ﾉｪ・)

He also comes with his umbrella! ◎

Those of you that have seen Thunder Bolt Fantasy Sword Seekers probably recognize this umbrella…

Yes! This umbrella is based on the umbrella that was torn during the battle in the first episode! ( ；∀；)

There are other Nendoroids that come with umbrellas, but this might be the first ripped umbrella!

Based on the character illustrations by Yuupon, his chibi expression face plate goes quite well with the part, I think!

▲I love the spirals in his eyes! He’s so cute!

Same as with Nendoroid Lin Setsu A and Nendoroid Betsu Ten Gai, an expression based on the actual glove puppet used in the series is also included!

While Sho Fu Kan’s standard expression shows off his dignified and friendly appearance, this one is more suited for when he is facing down enemies in battle! (∩・∀・)∩
