If you search the AppStore for ‘Rock Shooter’, it’ll pop up quickly… unfortunately you will need to search in Japanese! It seems it also needed an update, but I’ll grab that a little bit later! 😛

It’s starting up! Yay!

As it was starting the audio started playing and everyone working around me started complaining about the sound… so I quickly switched to earphones. 😛

The title screen!

The illustration is of course by CHANxCO! Normally CHANxCO is known for her chibi illustrations, but I actually love these more realistic illustrations like the background here – she is both cute and sexy!! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ

Anyway, let’s start the game!

There is actually a tutorial section that I should run through, but let me just try playing first! Even when I get user manuals for things, I tend to just ignore them and try to work things out for myself. On the bright side of things it’s a trial and error approach, on the negative side it’s just because I’m too lazy to read the manual… 😛

It’s started!!

It seems I need to defeat the enemies floating around here!
(I guess, seen it says ‘Combat’.)

After playing around a bit, I figured out I needed to touch the screen to fire shots at the enemies and clear the stage! Although now that I think about it I really don’t know how to get a feeling of the game through to everyone reading the blog, so I guess I’ll check out the tutorial anyway.

Pull back on Shooter-chan to shoot!

That’s the basic control of the game, simply pull back on the screen and shoot! Simple! This screen actually appears while loading as well, so you can read through before playing!

This is how the game looks running!

The large arrow coming off from Shooter-chan indicates the direction that she’ll fire. The distance the bullet travels depends on how much you pull back before you fire – if you pull back really far the bullet goes flying across the screen! The bullet travels in a curve, so you also need to include that into your calculations!

Stage 1-1 Clear!

When you complete a stage you get ‘G’ points. The first stage gave me 200G! You need to save these up to purchase the various items in the game!

I’ve managed to reach Stage 1-4!

Some enemies are super high up and harder to hit now!! By default you have three bullets but you can also continue as many times as you like if you don’t finish. Plus if you manage to hit the ‘Pucchitians’ on the right side of the screen they’ll drop items for you!

This is the item shop screen!

Now that we’ve got a good idea for the game I thought I’d take a look at the item screen. Here you can buy weapons as well as new outfits, hairstyles and accessories to use on your character!

The section I’m currently in is the section that requires real money to purchase items, but you can quite easily play the game without them!

Boss Fight!!

Why do I have to defeat such a cute girl!! The blocks in the middle keep getting in my way to defend her cuteness!! 😛

The pink target on the boss shows the current weak point, but each time you hit her she changes poses!!

Boss defeated! Onto Stage 2!

The next boss looks like she has a much bigger boobies!! I want to get to her, but I think the rest of the GSC staff will really get angry if I keep playing, so I think I’d better stop for now.

It’s the first time I’ve really played a game like this, but it’s nice and simple and could easily be played on the way to work or while you have a few minutes to yourself. I really want to play stage 2 now…

If it looks like something you’d enjoy, then I’d definitely recommend it from what I’ve played so far!

Bayonetta

A prototype box spotted at Uchitarou’s desk!

Whenever I see a cardboard box with handles like this, I can only assume it is a prototype – they need to be carried around a lot for magazine photographs and publisher supervision.

When we took Ultimate Madoka overseas we had a similar box which was about 50% bigger than this one, and the security at the airport was really suspicious about it, they kept asking what was inside! 😛
But anyway, inside this box was this lovely figure!

Phat Company’s:
1/7th Scale Bayonetta!

From the action game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, ‘Bayonetta’, comes a 1/7th scale figure of Bayonetta, the main character herself! The figure is a faithful rendition of a CG illustration from the game which places Bayonetta in a dynamic pose wearing a number of accessories and with pistols in both hands and on both feet!

She really has an incredible presence!

The pose as well as the use of space are both very bold, but very suited to the sexy Bayonetta! Another aspect of her amazing presence is the 1/7th scale, which is not only big but also allows for amazingly detailed sculpting work – we’ll take a look at that in more detail in the next few photos.

She looks so focused!! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ)=3

I don’t think I’d mind being hit by one of her torture attacks if I got to look at this lovely expression!! Just look how sexy her lips are as well!!

This is how she looks from the back!

Don’t you feel like you have to spin her around and look at her from all possible angles? The pose and design really makes me want to! But no matter what angle you look from, she is still really impressive!

A close-up on her upper body!

She certainly has an impressive bust, but I think the think that looks best to me is the way the outfit looks so tight that it seems to press down on her body!! The rose pattern on her stomach area is also very intricate!

Her weapons of choice, Scarborough Fair!

Scarborough Fair refers to her four pistols, one in each and and one on each foot, and each of them is named after a herb. The one in this image is Thyme and if you look close you can see the lovely jewel in the middle! But that’s not the only details Phat! Company made sure that…

Each gun also has it’s own separate black witch engraving on it!

Can you see the tiny black writing! It’s so very intricate!! Each gun also has two barrels, the black writing is on the lower barrel!

Beautiful hair with incredible detail!!

Such beautiful, straight hair makes me want to try and put my fingers through it! Small sections on the accessories are even made from clear parts which gives a little extra something!

The outfit has outstanding textures!

Bayonetta is just filled with highlights, but the realistic looking leather is truly incredible! The tiny little witch engravings are also simply amazing!

Chains strung all around her body!

Yet another part of her that is unbelievably detailed! Take a look at this photo together with the 5th photo in this blog to get a more complete look at them. Plus even the long red accessory in her hair has the witch engravings on it! Incredible work from Phat Company!

The pedestal is shaped like a butterfly!

What a beautiful pedestal! This comes from the fact that whenever Bayonetta uses certain abilities, butterflies would appear around her! The bottom of the pedestal is a mirror, but this particular feature might not make it to the final release, it’s still being considered.

1/8th Scale Illya: Yukata ver.

Two prototype boxes & a little chicken!

There were orange stickers with Chinese on them, so I knew for sure they had just come back from China! The chicken was left on my desk by someone, and I’m not sure who, so I decided I’d just leave it there for now! (`・ω・´)

1/8th Scale Illya: Yukata ver.

From the popular ‘Fate/stay night’ series comes a 1/8th scale figure of the innocent looking yet powerful master, Illya. She’s the second in this series following on from Saber! I love having a series of figures like this to collect and display together!

This is how she looks from the back!

The yukata is a lovely purple color, which of course is also Illya’s image color! There are also super cute bellflower prints all over! She has one hand on her hip and another up in the air in a very playful and innocent pose that suits her perfectly!

A super happy smile!

Whenever I see a happy Illya I can’t help but smile myself!! (*´∀｀*) I also love the upper arm sticking out of the yukata! It makes me want to reach out and feel how smooth her skin is…

A Berserker Mask!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟ )

She comes with an optional Berserker mask, isn’t it cute? On the prototype the mask is being held on by putty rubber, but on the actual figure you’ll be able to attach and remove it as you like!

The yukata really shows off her body line!

At least, I think so… but that’s really just my opinion I suppose. 😛 As I said with Saber before, the hip area really comes out nicely on these yukata figures!

She has a lovely pink sash!

Normally kimonos and yukatas have a towel wrapped around the body in order to make the body look more waistless. But I actually quite like the fact that I can kind of make out Illya’s waist (and small bust!) on the figure!

YuruYuri♪♪ Amusement Club Café

I missed lunch, so I really felt like stopping by the GSC Tetsujin Café…

…luckily Akihabara is nice and close to the new offices! ヽ(ﾟ∀ﾟ)ﾉ
When I arrived it was already closing time, but they let me in anyway! Yay! The Good Smile x Karaoke no Tetsujin Café can be found on the 5th floor of the AKIBA Cultures ZONE’s, just a bit off Akihabara’s Chuoudoori. I highly recommend it to anyone feeling a little peckish like me, or even if you just feel like taking a little break!

Smaller figures are lovely, but a 1/1 scale dakimakura really has a completely different feeling – it’s like they’re right there with you!

It’s huge! In the background are the letters ‘BAKYU-N!’, so you can stand inside and really feel like you’re the spotlight! Feel free to jump in and take a commemorative photo from the café!

I was given a Chinatsu table!

The mat on the table is filled with images of Chinatsu from the series, it’s lovely!! There are tables for the other characters, but the table you get is random – you just have to wait and see who you get once you arrive! (Which makes me want to come back over and over to get the other tables… :P)

The Oshiruko Float!!

I was actually a little worried I wouldn’t really like this one, but it was actually incredibly good!! It is quite sweet, but not too rich, and the ice cream is a lovely palate cleanser!

There was a little concern about people being able to pronounce the Japanese name, ‘Gomoku Gorakubu Gohan’, but it seems most people aren’t having trouble with it. 😛

Support Regarding Nendoroid Snow Miku: Fluffy Coat Ver.

A quick message for everyone who reads the blog…

Thank you for your continued support of Good Smile Company products!

We have already sent a mail out to everyone who purchased Nendoroid Snow Miku: Fluffy Coat Ver. regarding the defects that occurred in production. Along with all the delays that occurred, there were still defects to come through, and I wish to apologize for all the problems this product has caused to our customers.

As mentioned on the GSC site, we will be taking the following actions to help remedy this problem.

– Defects on the mike stand, shovel parts, twintail joints and hair ribbon –

At the end of September, a mike stand/shovel part set, two twintail joints and a hair ribbon will be sent to everyone who ordered this product from the GSC Online Shop.

These will be sent to everyone who ordered Miku, whether you experienced defects or not. We will send you an email to inform you as soon as these replacements are sent.

Nendoroid Alice Margatroid

The 10th Nendoroid from the Touhou Project:
Nendoroid Alice Margatroid!

From Team Shanghai Alice’s popular Touhou Project game series, comes a Nendoroid of the magician who lives in the Forest of Magic, Alice Margatroid! The puppets allow you to pose Alice showing off her ability to control puppets in battle – just one of the many interesting situations you can recreate in Nendoroid form!

This is how she looks from the back!

The stand is a rather unusual type for a Nendoroid – it is just held at the toes, but still allows her to be posed in all sorts of interesting poses! Alice’s beautiful blond hair with the red band in it are also sculpted so cutely!

She also has this lovely smiling face!

Alice comes with two lovely smiles for you to choose from. This part is even ideal for combat, as Alice always knows she is stronger! 😛

She also comes with a bent arm which you can use like this to make it look like she is brushing her hair back!

You can have her hold it in her right hand, and you can also swap out shoulder parts to pose her with her arms opened out!

The bent left arm you see here is different to the one in the above image – there are two different types allowing for more posing options!

Even more extra parts for crossed arms!

A special arm and shoulder part are included to create this pose with her arm forward. It’s quite hard to see in this photo, but her right arm is also quite far forward while holding the grimoire. If the left hand was put down the arms would be crossing.

They are so tiny! Super tiny!! They each have their own little pose and the heads can also be moved to the left and right. You can also swap the weapons between them!

REAL STEEL: MIDAS!

It seems we have a robotic guest today!!

… and a rather large one at that! He has had a long trip from America to Japan, so I think he should come and relax at my desk for awhile!

From the film ‘Real Steel’:
REAL STEEL: MIDAS!

From the film ‘Real Steel’, comes another figure from threeA – this time it is the robot used in Underworld fighting matches, Midas! His shining golden body and red Mohawk styled hair are both faithfully recreated in figure form, and his body is also covered in scratches and dents from all his previous fights. The joints are even filled with cylinders and wires for a truly realistic appearance!

He is way taller than the monitor… the paintwork also makes him have a really heavy and metallic appearance! This is actually a prototype model – it’s quite unusual for us to get hold of threeA’s prototypes!!

Real Steel
In 2020, human boxers have been replaced by robot boxers. Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) is a former boxer who owns such a robot, Ambush, competing in unsanctioned matches and in exhibitions with it. At a rural fair, Ambush is destroyed by Black Thunder, a bull belonging to promoter Ricky (Kevin Durand). Having made a bet that Ambush would win, Charlie now owes Ricky $20,000, which he doesn’t pay before leaving.

So simply put, these robots fight in the place of humans, and Midas here is one the enemies of the main character! (`･ω･´)
I won’t say much more as I don’t want to spoil anything, but apparently he has quite an important role in the film! Σ(ﾟДﾟ;）

You can pose him sitting down!

As it is a prototype I couldn’t be too bold with the posing, but I had to try a few interesting poses seen he is so very posable! First up I made a sitting pose, which actually makes him look very relaxed… it’s actually quite cute. 😛

Now into a fighting pose!

Midas is a robot that fights with a boxing style, so I tried placing him in a boxing pose… although I’m really not that great at making good poses for figures like this… If you do decide to grab him, I’m almost certain anyone will be able to make more interesting poses than me. 😛

The palms are fitted with joints!!

Midas is holding my precious snacks in his giant hand! You can open and close the hand and have him hold all sorts of things!!

The Mohawk looks exquisite!

When you look close up on the body you can also see a number of tattoo-like markings all over – they are so incredibly detailed!

The closer you look the more detail you can see, and when you realize just how much detail there is it is almost unbelievable!

The rusted paintwork and wires!

threeA is really well known for their incredible paintwork – just look how amazing the joints around the hip area look…

Plus the wiring around Midas is all put in place on the figure just as it looked in the film! It really adds to the robotic feeling of the figure!

Even the toes are articulated!

Once again this is the prototype, so I really can’t play around with the joints too much… but there are joints in the arms, legs, hips, shoulders and as you can see even in the toes! They really stick into place nicely as well, making it easy to get the figure into the poses you want!

The eyes can light-up!

There is a switch on the back of the head to light up his eyes! It is quite a pricey product, but the amount of incredible detail shows you exactly why that is!

Ambush will be going on sale soon!

The blue robot on the left is ‘Ambush’ – a robot that the main character of the film uses at the start of the story. Enokun managed to get hold of an early sample, so we can pose the two of them together!

The two giant robots together!

My desk is actually quite large so I don’t know how well you can judge their size here, but compare them to the keyboard and monitor – they really have an incredible presence!

Also to go a little off topic… I really can’t help but think Ambush looks just like one of the enemies in Dragon Quest…

Nendoroid Princess of the Crystal

I’m sure many of you will recognize these numbered penguins!

Animal figures in anime style are so cute! As much as I love the characters themselves, I have to say I also adore these cute little creatures!

Although, they’re most certainly not the only cute figures we have today… because today we’ll be taking a look at this lovely figure!

From Mawaru Penguindrum:
Nendoroid Princess of the Crystal!

A Nendoroid of the mysterious character that Himari changed into when she put on the penguin hat – The Princess of the Crystal! The skirt, scarf and frilly parts on her arms can all be removed allowing you to pose her all the stages of the famous transformation scene as well!

This is how the packaging looks!

As you can see, she comes with all sorts of extra goodies to play with! The packaging is actually slightly bigger than the standard Nendoroid packaging – its the same size as the Cheerful Miku packaging. Penguins #1, #2 and #3 are also all included!

This is how she looks from the back!

The twin tails coming out from the hat are fitted with Nendoroid joints! They move in all sorts of directions for interesting poses!

She can also stand on her own without a stand!! (*ﾟ∀ﾟ*）
Plus it’s not just balanced, she is actually very stable! I’m sure you could even bump the table and she still wouldn’t fall down!

A shouting expression and her huge skirt!

These parts are actually to recreate the famous ‘Imagine!’ scene with her hand up in the air, but I decided to use the bent arms which give her a more angry appearance! There are two skirts included – one that is closed up and this one which is opened out.

Her hat can also be removed!

Of course in terms of the storyline, the hat shouldn’t really be able to be removed, but as a figure anything is possible! Using the face with closed eyes also makes her look a lot more like the gentle Himari!

“Lets initiate the survival strategy!”

With all the parts that are included, you can recreate all the different parts of the transformation scene! At the end you can have her like this, with all the frills of her outfit removed!

Plus just like in the show, you can have her stand atop the penguins!

Something I never took a look at on the prototype…
They’re triple laced!!

I’m amazed to see something like this made to such detail on the Nendoroid!! As you can see, the arm stand has a little extra attachment that allows you to pose her standing on the penguins!

A truly adorable Princess!

The expression is the crying expression from Nendoroid Sakura Miku! I wanted to recreate a more Himari-chan like pose, but then I found out that Himari’s eyes are actually purple when she isn’t transformed! But I guess seeing the Princess of the Crystal like this is just as cute! (`･ω･´)
