Help Decide the 2016 Snow Miku Design!

I’m currently at the NicoNico offices, preparing for today’s broadcast!

Today we decide the 2016 Snow Miku Design!!!

The theme this time around is…
Winter Sports in Hokkaido! 

This theme allowed for some really original ideas and some lovely designs to come though! We also once again had a separate contest for Snow Miku’s good friend Rabbit Yukine! Tonight we find out which Miku-san will become our Snow Miku for yext uear! I can’t wait! (●´ω｀●)

Yesterday, I posted all the contenders up on my Twitter account! There are a total of four designs for Miku and four designs for Rabbit Yukine to choose from! These were chosen by both Crypton and GSC together… but the final choice between these is in your hands now!! (｀・ω・´)

 – 2016 Nendoroid Snow Miku Outfit Candidates-

1: SNOW MIKU 2016 / Saine

My design for the 2016 Snow Miku outfit! I decided on a rather stylish design that would look great with a snowboard or skis!

Her knitted hat has holes on the sides that allow her twintails to pop out! (I picture her snowboard or skis having a piano key pattern!

3: Snow Miku 2016 / Yunii

This was the first color scheme that came to mind for Winter Sports! My friend didn’t seem very convinced though… hopefully I can prove him wrong!

It’s an outfit kind of made in the image of a polar bear but still with a touch of class! The scarf includes gloves at the ends!

04: Snow Miku / Niboshi 

A design that anyone will recognize as Snow Miku with one quick look! I took things back to the classics a bit, but with some special new touches. She is wearing short pants allowing her to move about easier in the snow, It’s an outfit that would work great for snowboarding, skiing, skating…. anything!

Nendoroid Patchouli Knowledge

I had a rather busy and active weekend for the first time in ages. I guess it’s not such a bad thing to go outside and absorb some sunlight once in awhile…!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at:

Nendoroid Patchouli Knowledge!

From the popular game series by Team Shanghai Alice, the ‘Touhou Project’ comes a Nendoroid of Patchouli Knowledge, the magician with a weak constitution who keeps herself confined to the Scarlet Devil Mansion’s library.

She comes with three expressions including her standard face, a smiling face and a cute yawning expression. Optional parts include sitting parts, a book and even some glasses which suit her intellectual personality. You can also pose her holding the book to cover her mouth for a rather different appearance! Enjoy keeping the adorable Patchouli by your side!

Apologies to all the Touhou fans for the long wait!!

The adorable magician that confines herself to the Scarlet Devil Mansion’s library is joining the Nendoroids! ♡ Her cute frilly negligee outfit has been shrunk into Nendoroid size very nicely! Her lovely long hair filled with ribbons as well as her puffy hat also look lovely in Nendoroid size – the details are amazing! (σ・∀・)σ

△ The cute candy-like colors are so very colorful!

Believe it or not, this is actually the 14th Nendoroid from the Touhou Project! Let’s have a quick look through the Touhou Nendoroid history! ♪

As you can see, her nightcap can be completely removed!

Here she is without her hat, deep in concentration reading her book! She looks so lovely!! All the photos up to here have made use of her standard, calm expression… but she also comes with this one!  ♪

A sideways glance with a gentle smile! ♥︎

This expression gives her more of a mysterious charm! But she also comes with another item that fits with her library girl personality so very well!

Red frame glasses!!

Patchouli is also known as ‘The Unmoving Great Library’ and this pose captures that so nicely! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

(・∀・) “I wanted to bring out the intelligent side of Pache-san somehow, which led to these glasses being included!”

We’re joined by the figure’s planner,  Hamako!

(・∀・) “Plus to even further bring out her character, we also included sitting parts!”

Oooooooooohhhh!! (/ω＼)

The way she is sitting is so adorable too!!

(・∀・) “I thought this way of sitting suited Pache-san’s cute looks best!” 

The mixture of the childish expression and mature expression… it’s such delicious contrast!! *nom* (●´ㅂ`●) *nom*

This expression suits the glasses really well too! ♪

(・∀・) “Oh yes! There’s something I really wanted to point out about her expressions!”

Oh? What?! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

(・∀・) “The smiling face you introduced a little earlier… if you block her mouth with the book you get a pose like this!!”

Without the smile… she looks rather annoyed…!

(・∀・) “Exactly! She may only have three expressions, but if you combine them the options like this book and the glasses, you end up with all sorts of options!”

I would never expect a smile to be hidden behind that book! She really seems to be glaring at me…!! (°д°；)

But hang on…. you said three expressions?! We’ve only seen two!

(・∀・) “Her third expression is this yawning expression!”

Another super cute expression!! (´∀｀*)

(・∀・) “The calm and composed Pache-san looks lovely, but sometimes its fun to catch her off guard in a naturally cute pose like this one! Time for bed!”

She looks so defenceless…!!

Nendoroid Yuki Yuna: Hero Edition

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

When I was in middle school I was in the school drama club. I might not look like the type, but I was actually the head of the club! To this day I’m still good friends with the club members!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Yuki Yuna: Hero Edition!☆ 

From the anime series ‘Yuki Yuna is a Hero’ comes a Nendoroid of Yuki Yuna transformed into her hero form! The Nendoroid is fully articulated, allowing for poses worthy of those in the ‘Brave Hero Club’!

She comes with both her standard expression as well as a shouting expression perfect for displaying her in combat against the Vertex! Effect parts as well as her spirit ‘Gyuki’ are also included for an even more heroic battle scenes!

Hyafuuuuuu!!! (/ω＼)

From ‘Yuki Yuna is a Hero’ which is the forth and last part of the “Takahiro IV Project” comes a Nendoroid of the Sanshuu Middle School 2nd year student and  Brave Hero Club member… Yuki Yuna! ♡

She is in her transformed form with her soft, pink hair!

The ponytail at the back is also attached with a joint allowing for interesting movements! Also take a good close look at her Hero outfit!

The unique outfit has been very carefully shrunk down to Nendoroid size! ★

If you look close you can even see the patterns on the two side flaps have been intricately added on! 

Plus it wouldn’t be Yuna without her spirit cow with wings, Gyuki!

△ So very adorable!

Hmmm?

It looks like the two of them are looking at something…

△ Note the slight gradient on Gyuki’s wings, and Yuna’s big hair accessory!

Is that…?! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

 

The smartphone that spelled the end of Yuna’s ordinary life is also included as an optional part! She also comes with a hand that can hold the phone, so you can easily pose her as if sending a message with the NARUKO messaging application! (●´ω｀●)


△ The back of the hand clearly has the Hero symbol too!

Also note that this is an ‘Edition’ Nendoroid! That means that she is fully articulated!!

Perfect for taking all sorts of action poses! ♥︎

△ Her knees feature a joint for various angles of bent legs! 

The shoulder joint in edition Nendoroid is a ball joint, which means you can also easily make poses with the arm raised up! (｀・ω・´)

Plus a shouting face ideal for combat scenes is also included!

Placing her in poses fighting against the Vertex is not only easy, the poses also look so amazing and dynamic! The included effect parts even feature little petals throughout the design to create even more ambiance! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

△ The stand of the effect part is on a ball joint as well,
allowing you to adjust the angle to her fist or something else with ease!

You can really create so many fun action scenes with these fully articulated Nendoroids! I highly recommend giving them a try if you never had the chance!

Enjoy great poses while really brining out the atmosphere of the series!

When eating strawberry daifuku I love having strawberries on top as well as inside!  (๑´ڡ`๑)

Anyway, at the end of last year you may remember that I asked for photos for my 2014 Winter Twitter header! It’s a tad late, but I’m finally ready to announce my selected photo!!  (/ω＼)

A Snow Miku family together with a wedge plow on the Sekihoku Main Line. I actually wanted a photo with the snow falling, but the snow ended before I got to taking photos!

This photo was taken last year during the first heavy snow in Kantou in 16 years! The snow came well up to my knees, but I just had to go out and take some photos with Miku! I think this is one of the few photos I’ve taken that I think came out really nicely! Definitely one of my favorites!

The snow falls gently to the ground with Miku smiling like an angel as she enjoys it!  The heavy snow last year was quite troublesome in some ways… but seeing photos like this makes me remember that it can also being about great memories! ♡

I lived in Hokkaido until I was half-way through kindergarten! You’d think I’d be strong against the cold, but I’m not really!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Noel ★ 

From the anime series ‘Celestial Method’ comes a Nendoroid of the ‘saucer girl’ Noel! She comes with a variety of option parts including a leaf umbrella, a cut out panel of Kirigon and a saucer cushion. She also comes with three expressions including a smiling face, a sulking face as well as the crying face with a gentle smile that was seen in episode 11 of the anime series.

The various optional parts allow you to recreate all sorts of scenes from the series! She even comes with a special ‘saucer’ part to display with her! Be sure to greet her with a warm smile when she joins your collection! ♪

From ‘Celestial Method’ the popular anime series written by Naoki Hisaya of ‘Kanon’ fame, with characters designed by QP:flapper, comes a Nendoroid of the mysterious but adorable little Noel!♪

Just looking at her smile makes me feel all warm inside!! ♡

Plus she comes with various parts to make her even cuter! ε=(｡・д・｡)

I’m sure most of you already know what this is! 

She comes with a leaf umbrella!! (σ・∀・)σ 

I can’t think of any character that would look better with a leaf umbrella!

I still think the scene where she picks a leaf and holds it over Nonoka was just too adorable! Seeing a little girl like her stretch out like that is so cute!!  *nom* (●´ㅂ`●) *nom*

Those who agree with me about the cuteness will be happy to know that some Nendoroid Plus items featuring a Nendoroid illustration of her holding the leaf umbrella are shipping out from GSC on the 26th January! ♪

A truly indescribable level of cuteness!

The panel is planned to be made from cardboard.

We’re joined by the figure’s planner, Kyojin!! 

(・∀・) “She also comes with a Nendoroid sized Kirigon panel to put her head through!”

THAT IS ADORABLE!

I can’t wait to try putting some other Nendoroids in for some photos! ♥︎

(・∀・) “The size takes the Nendoroid base into account and should work with most Nendoroids without problem!” 

You can recreate the entrance to the ‘Shiihara’ souvenir shop! ♪

When I think of this panel together with Noel, the first thing that comes to my mind is episode 7! It was a very memorable scene!

(・∀・) “Which means that we just had to include parts that would let fans recreate that as well!”

 

“Monster-san…”

The Kirigon panel that Noel and Souta fixed!

In other words…. three different Kirigon panels are included!

 (・∀・) “Also, while the smile Noel gave after she had fixed Kirigon was lovely… we certainly couldn’t forget about the sad face she had while she was worrying about him! That was the image this expression was made in.”

Ah, that must be the ‘sulking face’ in the product description!

She really does look ready to burst into tears! It makes you wish you could jump to her side and give her a hug! (/ω＼)

(・∀・) “You can also use the expression to recreate this scene from episode 6!”

The saucer cushion!! ∑(ﾟДﾟ) 

The expression really conveys that she isn’t quite happy with it…

Plus you can actually balance her on the stand and place her feet forward for a cute pose like this!

The way the cushion is sculpted also really makes it look like it should be soft to the touch! It’s hard to believe it’s made from hard plastic! ♡

(・∀・) “There is still more!” 

…? What more could there be?! (((( ;°Д°))))

(・∀・) “How about this?”

Oooohh!! The Saucer!!

(・∀・) “It’s the most important part of the story! It had to be included!”

The dome looks a bit like a big marble chocolate! It’s so pretty! ☆

As you can see from the image above, her twintails also have joints in them to match with more dynamic poses!

The saucer is actually rather large as well! Σ(･ω･ﾉ)ﾉ！

(・∀・) “While we had to make a few changes for it to be included with the Nendoroid in this size, we did keep it looking as close to the original as possible! The top and bottom even have different patterns on them as they should – be sure to take a closer look if you decide to pick her up!”

Plus the saucer will come with a special attachment part to allow you to display it floating up in the skies! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

By the way… I just noticed we’ve only seen two expressions.

(・∀・) “I can’t say too much as I don’t want to spoil anything… but anyone who has seen the series knows this is another expression that just had to be included.”

Nendoroids are great fun to play with and look at… but they can also be a great way to remember the storyline of an anime sometimes! Nendoroid Noel is filled with fun and is sure to remind you of the lovely storyline again and again! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

WonHobby 20 Products Revealed!

The WonHobby 20 website is now open!!

I sense WonFes is getting closer…! Today I’m going to be taking a look at the WonFes items that were revealed on the website today! (σ・∀・)σ

But before that… this is WonHobby 20!! I can hardly believe there have been so many WonHobby exhibits!! For those who don’t know, WonHobby stands for ‘WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU!!’ and refers to the joint booth between Max Factory and Good Smile Company at the Wonder Festival event!

We’re working on some special extras in the booth to make the 20th anniversary booth a lot of fun for everyone! ( -ﾉｪ-)

Let’s take a look at what figures will be available!

The aircraft carrier from the depths of the sea.

Nendoroid Aircraft Carrier Wo-Class

The Aircraft Carrier Wo-Class from KanColle is finally joining the Nendoroid series, carefully preserving the unique design and form of the mysterious vessel in Nendoroid size! The Nendoroid also features special light-up effects, allowing you to switch the color of the eyes on her head piece between three different colors!

She also comes with her staff as well as three small planes to fly about around her. She also comes with a more comical glaring expression for a less serious pose! Be sure to display her together with the other KanColle Nendoroids and recreate the fierce battles of the KanColle seas!

Nendoroid Sayaka Miki: Uniform Ver. &
Kyouko Sakura: Casual Ver. Set

Nendoroid Sayaka Miki and Nendoroid Kyouko Sakura are back as a special set, wearing their school uniform and casual clothes respectively. They each come with two expressions, and Sayaka comes with her school bag while Kyoko comes with an apple and snacks to munch on, allowing for a number of different scenes from the series!

As a set they are also specially made to look great displayed with each other!

· She comes with a standard expression, an injured expression and a gentle smile with a blush.
· Optional parts include her bow, her arrows based on famous aircraft and some ice cream, her favorite treat.

· His bandana comes in two forms: one hanging from his neck and another tied up around his mouth.
· A cloth, duster and broom are all included to help him clean.
· Alternate front hair parts for Levi, as well as some bonus alternate front hair parts for Mikasa are both included!

I stopped sleeping with plushies a good ten years ago, but I still remember hugging my emperor penguin plushie every night for a very long time!

Anyway, today I’ll be taking a look at a product going on sale tomorrow:

The return of the mysterious yellow creature who lives on the Internet!

Lovely and yet filled with darkness… seems to act cool but actually just apathetic… the mysterious yellow creature is back! wooser’s not-really-heartwarming series of short animations has returned, as he continues to strive for nothing but his own desires.

Just like the first season, the awakening arc DVD features a needlessly impressive staff line-up, and contains all 12 episodes of the season! It also includes mini plushies of both Ajipon and The-Creature-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named as extras! Don’t miss out!

Adding The-Creature-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named to a certain wooser staff member’s desk brings out more of the series than ever before! A lovely size to hold and nice and fluffy too, making it perfect to hug while watching though the DVD… or take out with you! Or just keep on display! So many different ways to enjoy the mysterious creature!

(・∀・) “New Product Time will feature some rather interesting figures! The figma Racing Miku 2013: EV MIRAI ver. which debuted at NicoNico Chokaigi, as well as the 1/7th Scale Mikuzukin are both scheduled to be shown during the broadcast!”

They’ve both been on display at events in the pat, but this time around we’ll have Max Factory introduce them in detail for everyone! (o・ω・o)

(・∀・) “I also believe we’ll be hearing about FamilyMart and animate’s upcoming products and I hear GSR will be announcing something too!”

Mikasa Ackerman!

From the popular anime series ‘Attack on Titan’ comes a 1/8th scale of Eren’s childhood friend, Mikasa Ackerman! She is sculpted in a dynamic pose based on the cover illustration of the 2nd volume of the Blu-ray and DVD.

The detail seen on her vertical maneuvering equipment and the textures on her outfit show off just how intricate a scale figure can be, allowing fans to enjoy Mikasa from all sorts of angles! The limited edition ‘DX Ver.’ includes a special base made to look like one of the buildings in the series, to bring out the ‘Attack on Titan’ atmosphere even more!

I get the feeling that Mikasa will be up for preorder soon, so let’s take a nice close look at her! (｀・ω・´）

The first thing you’ll notice is the amazing detail of the sculptwork!!

From the creases in her outfit to the detail of the vertical maneuvering equipment… you can even see the damage on it!

(・∀・) “Also take a look at all the different textures on the figure!”

We’re joined by the planner of the figure, Kyojin!!

(・∀・) “The sculpting itself is certainly very intricate, but the different textures of the skin, fabric, leather and equipment are all brought out with special paintwork and techniques too!”

The dynamic pose is filled with energy too, she is captured in such an epic moment! (ﾉ｀・∀・)ﾉ

The combination of the sculptwork and textures really brings out a realistic feeling to the figure! （*´▽｀*）

(・∀・) “This Mikasa was based on the cover illustration of the 2nd anime DVD/Blu-ray! We went through many, many fixes and alternations before getting her to this state!”

Oh? What sort of changes were needed?

(・∀・) “Most of the changes were to ensure that the pose looked right from various angles. The illustration she is based on was obviously only ever viewable from one angle… but when you can look from 360 degrees there are a lot more things that need to be taken into account!”

But that’s exactly what makes figures so amazing! You can enjoy them from whichever angle you think looks best! (； ･`ω･´)

(・∀・) “We paid particular attention to the twist of her body and angles of her legs to try and capture the same unique feeling of the original illustration!”

With Nendoroids, the focus is simplifying the character design in a cute way while still keeping a good balance of information… but on a scale figure the focus shifts into making sure the pose looks natural from any angle while keeping a more realistic appearance. The use of space also needs to be kept in mind all the time with scale figures – just like any other form of art! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

(・∀・) “My personal favorite part of Mikasa is her expression!”

Her confident eyes show off her valiant side, but her feminine side is still preserved beautifully! ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ

(・∀・) “Yep! Mikasa is known for her prowess in battle and ability to remain calm no matter the circumstances… but we can’t forget she also has a very loving feminine side, particularly when it comes to Eren! Whilst the pose definitely focuses more on the ‘fighting’ Mikasa… we wanted to try and add a bit of her cuter side too!”

A figure that allows you to enjoy her as a hero or as a beauty! Simply lovely! ♡

No matter which angle I look from… I always love what I see!!

I think personally I like a lower angle like this, with Mikasa looking down on me!

(・∀・) “The careful attention to the overall balance of the figure has made for a truly amazing product… I know that everyone will be very happy with her once they see it for themselves!”

Plus Eren will be following soon! This makes me super excited for him!

(・∀・) “This product will comes in two versions… a standard version and a deluxe version which includes the special base!”

Oh yes! I’m sure everyone has already noticed the amazing roof base in the photos above! Note that it is only included with the DX ver.!

The base is designed to look just like one of the houses in the series! The detail put into it is also super impressive!! The weathered, deteriorated look has been captured so nicely! (*´Д｀)=з

(・∀・) “Seen it’s only included with the DX ver., we tried to really give it a deluxe feeling! We really wanted something to bring out the atmosphere of the series more and decided this was the perfect way to do so! It does cost a little more, but I definitely recommend it to collectors and fans of the series!”

The theme this year around is ‘Grass, flowers and trees in Hokkaido’s Winter”! Snow Miku’s pet Rabbit Yukine will also be returning this year, once again as a separate design of the same theme!

The final design will not only be used for a Nendoroid, but will also be the official design used for the SNOW MIKU 2015 event! ♪

Hatsune Miku TYPE 2020

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

I’ve only been up Tokyo Tower once when I was rather young… and even though the GSC offices are right next to the even higher Skytree, I’m so used to it now that I often feel like I’d rather climb Tokyo Tower! (；´∀｀)

Anyway, today I’ll be looking at a product that shipped out from GSC today:

The 1/7th scale:
Hatsune Miku TYPE 2020!

Oooh!!! (*´▽｀*)
What a beautiful Miku-san!! ♡

The stunning Miku who sings the 7th Dragon 2020 opening song has been sculpted in all her beautiful glory, and is now ready to be released!

Amazing volume!

The huge, long twintails really give the figure an impressive size… the packaging is also rather large! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

Let’s move somewhere else for a better size comparison…

Just compare her to the size of my laptop…
It’ll help you realize just how impressive the size is! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

The outfit also is so unique and stunning… the light and airy feeling of the outfit design comes out on the figure so nicely!

The twirling of the twintails also give the figure a very dynamic feeling!

The bold and open pose together with such intricate details… I could stare at her forever!

She is literally detailed down to the fingertips! ヽ(ｏ´∀｀ｏ)ﾉ

Displaying her with Samurai (Katanako) and Hacker (Chelsea) from the same series will undoubtedly look amazing too – the designs match together so well!

The use of space between the twintails and arms also works so well! It’s really a work of art! As expected of Max Factory! (=ﾟωﾟ)ﾉ

Her eyes simply seem to suck you in…
Plus just look at that collarbone… and those armpits!!

Take a look at the lacing around her chest area… there is no way to explain just how intricate it is! Her lips also feature a slightly glossy paintwork! (ﾉ｀・∀・)ﾉ

Her face from the side is also beautiful! You get a lovely look at her body’s perfect curves as well as her lovely fingers from this angle! ヾ(｡｀Д´｡)ﾉ

A look from the side also shows slightly more skin… the beautiful outfit still has a sexy side to it too! ( -ﾉｪ-)

Be sure to take a nice long look from all sorts of angles once yours arrives!
