Miyu Takagi Visits the GSC Offices!

Today I’ll be giving a little report about a visit we had from Miyu Takagi! The voice actor of Hacka Doll #1 from ‘Hacka Doll the Animation’ which is currently airing!!

Anyway, let’s get started with the office tour! Eh?

△ I thought I heard a camera behind me!

We have a couple of our previously released products on display at the offices, and Takagi-san seemed very determined to grab a couple of photos of some of the Fate related figures!! ♪

Anyway, let’s move deeper into the offices! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

As I’m sure many of you are aware, the GSC offices are located VERY close to the Tokyo Skytree!!


△ You can only see the middle of it out the window…

By the way, everyone here at GSC has their own choice of PC and peripherals to get work done as comfortably as possible! Not only that, but everyone also displays mountains of figures, posters, models and more really showing off the series that they love!

（´-`）.｡oO（GSC is rather free when it comes to things like this… it makes me wonder what other companies are like!)

After admiring all the desks, its time to peek into the glass-windowed company president office! (/ω・＼)

△ The illustrations on the glass were drawn by famous international artists!

Anyway, moving on… it’s time to sneak into…

The GSC Production Studios!

– Infiltration Complete! –

After discussing a little about how all the figures she had seen were all actually made in this very room and wandering around a little bit… Takagi-san found something that seemed to grab her interest!!

△ But it seems like Hamako from the planning team is trying to stop her!

“Is this… what I think it is?!”

△ She seemed quite engrossed…!

What she found was none other than…

Nendoroid Hacka Doll #1!♥︎

△ She looks so energetic and ready for some fun even without color yet!

“I want to make one too!”

△ She seemed very confident!!

Anyway, let’s move to another location with a bit more space and take a closer look! ♪

The Nendoroid was still unpainted at this point, but it is now currently being painted!!

The painted version will be coming soon, along with a look at her optional parts and alternate expressions! Look forward to them!! ★

As you might expect, the twin-tails are fitted with joints allowing for lots of fun posing!

Hmm… but who is that yellow figure behind her?!

Seen they are both ULTRA SUPER PICTURES animes… Metamoroid wooser came to join the fun! ♪

△ He looks a little off… but there is no doubting it!

wooser-sama came to find the cute gal!!

△ They were getting along great in within 5 seconds!

I even got a GIF of the two of them dancing about!!

△ So cute!

Nendoroid Petite: Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- 1st Squad

Thanks to everyone who just watched the live broadcast! I hope you enjoyed it!! Now I’m going to be taking a closer look at each of the sword boys in ORANGE ROUGE’s latest product…

Nendoroid Petite:
Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- 1st Squad!

From the popular browser game ‘Touken Ranbu -ONLINE- comes a set of six cute and small articulated Nendoroid Petite figures! The set features the five starter swords Kashu Kiyomitsu, Kasen Kanesada, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Hachisuka Kotetsu, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki as well as Yamatonokami Yasusada!Each of the characters keeps their unique personality and style, even when shrunk down into a size even smaller than normal Nendoroids! Recreate your squad in adorable size!!

Apologies for the long wait since WonFes! (´□｀｡) 

The Touken characters have been shrunk down to an even smaller size than standard Nendoroids to the approx. 65mm high Nendoroid Petite series! This first set contains six different characters including Kashu Kiyomitsu, Kasen Kanesada, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, Hachisuka Kotetsu, Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki and Yamatonokami Yasusada! ♪

Even though they are so very small, I’m sure you can see that the attention to detail on areas such as the intricate outfits, accessories and the lovely flow of each character’s hair is absolutely fantastic!! ♡

They look just as good from the back as well! (σ・∀・)σ

The different outfits and hairstyles of each character have all been captured so effectively even from the back which isn’t even visible in the original illustrations!! Each and every detail has also been polished to perfection to ensure a set of figures that fans will be proud to add to their collections! ★

Let’s take a closer look at them one-by-one!

– Kashu Kiyomitsu –

Give him all the love he desires!!

Even his diamond earrings have been kept in detail on the Nendoroid Petite! Also note the adorable little mole by his mouth!! (/ω＼)

– Kasen Kanesada –

His elegance has been preserved in Nendoroid Petite size!! 

Note the way his outfit flows around him, gently fluttering about!! The amount of different colors used is also incredible for a Nendoroid Petite – even the back of his cape features a different color! ☆

– Yamanbagiri Kunihiro – 

The hood over his head and the torn look at the bottom is lovely! ♪

He looks ready for a fight! The area on the right hidden beneath the cape is also faithfully sculpted and painted! Be sure to take a closer look once he joins your collection!!

– Hachisuka Kotetsu –

His golden armor and accessories around his hips faithfully preserve his graceful and noble appearance! (/ω＼)

The shiny gold appearance will be kept even for the final product! Worry not!

– Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki –

An expression that captures his frank and straightforward personality!

The spiky hairstyle and the unique look of his outfit from the top to the bottom have all been faithfully sculpted! You can even see the gun he keeps at his hips as an alternate weapon! The manly outfit looks so amazing!!

– Yamatonokami Yasusada –

This gentle smile makes it so hard to picture him saying his combat lines!!

The armor around his torso has shiny paintwork to differentiate it from the rest of his outfit! Lovely! ♡

Each of them is overflowing with amazing detail!!

Remember that each of these figures stands just 65mm in height!  (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

△ Nendoroids are about 100mm tall, making quite a big size difference!

Nendoroid Petites really are pretty much the ideal size to sit in the palm of your hand like so! ♪

△ The final products will have a standard Nendoroid Petite base and stand! ♪

Anyway, as mentioned on the live broadcast these figures are a little different to standard Nendoroid Petite sales, so take note!

Nendoroid Maki Nishikino: Training Outfit Ver.

Yesterday was ‘Health and Sports Day’ here in Japan. I’m ashamed to say I didn’t do anything particularly sporty or healthy…

Back during school my worst two subjects were physical education and maths… also cooking… in fact, most home economics classes.

But anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Maki Nishikino: Training Outfit Ver.! ♪

From the popular anime series ‘LoveLive!’ comes a Nendoroid of Maki Nishikino wearing her training outfit! She comes with both a winking expression as well as an embarrassed, upset expression for when the others are making fun of her.Optional parts include her cellphone as well as a drink to sip on when she is taking a break between training sessions! A special ‘holding hand’ part is also included for use with the ‘Ima wa Bokura no Naka de’ LoveLive! Nendoroid series.

Not only good looking, but intelligent to boot!♪

The lyrics writer for μ’s and incredible singer with a rather serious personality! Maki Nishikino is joining the Nendoroids again this time in her training outfit! Maki’s choice of outfit has a nice mixture of cool and cute colors! The hair tied up at the front has also been preserved making for quite a large change for her previous Nendoroid! <○><○>

Her first expression is this winking expression which combined with the folded arms pose creates a very confident look that suits Maki very nicely! Even her rather simply hat has been carefully sculpted – note the folds and layers on the back!

The way her hair is bunched up at the back is also lovely!! I think this kind of hair style is rather rare for Nendoroids!! ☆

I personally love the way her index fingers are pointing out! ♡ 

△ It gives her a rather smug appearance!

Her hat can also be removed allowing for a rather different appearance to enjoy! 

She comes with bent left and right legs which can be used for all sorts of things, as well as various different arm parts! I made this pose as a kind of mid-training pose! Maki might not be that great at exercise, but she still gives it her best!!

Maki is the 6th character to join the Training Outfit series! All of the first years and second years have now all been completed! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Anyway, let’s get back to Maki-chan!

Moving on to her second expression! ♪

Her second expression is quite a turn from her confident winking expression! Her second expression is an upset, embarrassed expression! (´□｀｡)

This expression is based on the scene in season one where Nontan kept taking close-up pictures of Maki-chan and she really didn’t want her photo taken! The combination of embarrassment and a slightly angry look captures Maki-chan’s personality very effectively!! ♥︎

I think I would compliment her more and more and make her even more embarrassed! It’s so cute!!

She also comes with a drink to hold while she is taking a break from training! This photo captures her as you say something to her during her break! She is rather surprised that you suddenly called out to her, but at the same time looks like she might be a little happy that you did!! ★

Plus she also comes with another optional part!

Her smart phone is also included!!


△ There were quite a few scenes where she was using her phone in the series!

Whenever I see Maki-chan fiddling around on her cellphone it makes me realise that while she is a great idol, she also has a side of her that is just your everyday high school student! It makes me feel a little relieved…

We obviously all love Maki-chan as her idol self, but sometimes we also need to appreciate her in a more everyday appearance like this one!!

But anyway, with Maki complete, it means…

The hat is specially made to also fit onto Rin-chan’s head, allowing you to recreate the scene where she imitated Maki-chan in season two! ♪

Of course the Nendoroid neck joints are also almost always compatible as well, allowing you to completely swap out the body as well – with Rin-chan or any other character! (σ・∀・)σ

Be sure to give it a try once she joins your collection, or instead just enjoy Maki-chan as herself!!

Kahotan Post Office: Perfect Date Edition – Part 1

I recently changed into long-sleeve pyjamas! The mornings are just too cold for short sleeves now!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at some of the ‘Perfect Date‘ photos that I asked everyone to send in this month! I’ve already received so many!!

Here are a couple of photos from when Mikudayo- and I went out on a date to Asakusa! Asakusa at night is really an experience to remember!

Mikudayo has even more impact then the famous statues!! The store-lined streets around Sensouji are really a lovely experience at night!! (*´Д｀)=з

Recently no matter where I go, I always have my Nendoroid Amatsukaze with me! This was taken at a small park on the way to do some shopping in Nagoya. That tsundere expression as she turns around is just perfect!!

Today’s Main Feature…!

Without further ado, today I’m going to be taking a look at Phat! Company’s…

1/7th Scale Angela Balzac!★ 

From the original anime film ‘Expelled from Paradise’ comes a 1/7th scale figure of the heroine, Angela Balzac! The figure captures the beautiful curves of her body as well as her charming expression as she gazes right at you. Her combat suit has been intricately sculpted with careful attention to textures, adding even more charm to the figure. The data forms of Angela and the Frontier Setter are also included to pose beside her for even more fun!

Ooooooooooh!!! (´□｀｡)

From the original full CG anime directed by Seiji Mizushima with screenplay by Gen Urobuchi ‘Expelled from Paradise’ comes a lovely 1/7th scale figure of the DEVA’s system security third officer, Angela Balzac!

The confident smile on her face, an almost too perfect body, a very unique and attractive outfit and those beautiful long twin tails flowing behind her!! They all come together so beautifully!

There are so many different parts of her to look at that my eyes don’t know where to stop! The pose with her down on her knees together with the way to hair flows out to the sides also means the figure has a rather impressive size!

△  The ‘tight’ look around her bottom and hips as well as
the indents behind her knees are a must-see! ♪

I also want to point of the detail on her back!!

The contrast between her soft looking skin and the mechanical suit is such a pleasure to the eyes! ε=(｡・д・｡)

I would definitely leave her on display where you can sometimes get a look at her back! The sculpt is so nicely done!! ★

But speaking of a pleasure to the eyes…

If I had to pick three adjectives here… I’d go with ‘shiny’, ‘tight’ and ‘squishy’! You can really feel the pull of gravity as well!

This shot shows that a low angle is yet another great angle to take a look at her from! Another section that I personally really love would be…

Her belly button!! (/ω＼)

The ever so slight bump of her stomach is also lovely!

Although the area is covered up with the shiny white suit, you can certainly picture the soft skin on the other side with your mind’s eye! Delicious!!

Also take note of the joints of her fingers, or even the fact that you can make out where her nails are through the outfit if you look close enough! Phat! has really spared no details this time around!! You need to sit down and take a nice long look at this figure to really appreciate all the attention to detail! <○><○>

△ Each of the fingers has been sculpted with its own charm!

Plus underneath the hands of this Angela you’ll find someone supporting her… someone looking a little troubled!

A datarized version of herself!

The blocky appearance from the series has been recreated perfectly! The body has little lines carved out along it and the hair accessories are made from a semi-transparent material – even this version of Angela is filled with details for fans to enjoy! ♪

By the way, the mini-Angela is not attached to the main figure in anyway, so you can display the two of them separately should you prefer! (・∀・)

Even the reverse side of Data Angela can be seen!

Nendoroid Kasane Teto

When ever I am hungry my stomach is always very happy to let me know by growling rather loudly. This is often in the middle of meetings… and is always incredibly embarrassing!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Kasane Teto!♪

The long awaited Nendoroid of the Hatsune Miku spin-off character Kasane Teto is finally here! Even her trademark drill-shaped twin-tail hair has been faithfully preserved on her Nendoroid!She comes with both a smiling expression as well as a sneering expression, and her beloved French bread as well as a panzerfaust-shaped microphone are also both included allowing fans to enjoy all sorts of poses from Teto’s popular songs and more!

Ooooooooohhh!! (´□｀｡)

The character who was originally announced in March 2008 as an April Fool’s Joke, the BOUCOLOID ‘Kasane Teto’ has now comes to join the Nendoroid series!!

Her mostly black uniform with red highlights that match up with her lovely red hair and eyes has been faithfully reproduced in Nendoroid size! Even the small little details like the buttons are actually sculpted – not just painted – on to the figure! ♡

The ‘0401’ numbers on her left arm are also faithfully included!

Her trademark ‘drill’ twin-tails are also looking lovely in Nendoroid size! (*´Д｀)=з

They also feature joints at the connection point that allow you to change the angle that they are pointed at! ♡

Speaking of joints, her neck is also of course articulated, which means…

You can pose her like this based on the image used for the ‘Ochame Kinou’ song!! Obviously you can then also add a few little personal touches as well!! ★

Plus there is one item that just had to be included with Kasane Teto…

Her favorite thing to have by her side – French Bread!

A special hand part is also included which allows her to hold the bread as well!!

△ The tiny bread looks deliciously baked! Golden brown!

This Nendoroid Kasane Teto was planned by Hamako, who actually has quite an emotional attachment to her!

Hamako: “When I first joined GSC, there was a period of time that I was assigned a training exercise as a part of the planning team. I had to come up with my own proposal for a Nendoroid figure. My very first proposal was in fact Nendoroid Kasane Teto! Obviously that was some time ago and this ended up as an all new proposal now – but to see the figure actually finally being made is quite moving! I wish I could go back in time and high five the younger version of me!” 

A long awaited product! I’m also told you really struggled to decide on the expressions and parts to include with her?

Hamako: “I wanted to add all different aspects of Teto… and after lots of thought I decided the one just had to be French bread, and I also thought she needed a microphone… but not just any microphone, the one seen in the song ‘Uso no Utahime’, which was made to look like a panzerfaust!”

The microphone also comes with a special hand that allows her to hold it, so you can easily display her singing into the microphone like so! (●´ω｀●)

 

Hamako: “As for the alternate expression, I really wanted to include an expression that captured her most famous line…”

 

“You really are an idiot!”

Hamako: “This is easily Teto’s most well known line, and so I decided to include a sneering expression to capture the feeling behind it!”

That upward sideways glance, mocking expression and pointing finger!!

Why do I get the feeling I’ve just been ridiculed?! (/ω＼)

Hamako: “The sneer gives off a very different feeling to her smiling expression, and it captures that playful, mischievous side of Teto that fans have come to love!”

Hamako: “Teto was started as an April Fool’s joke all those years back, so I think in that sense as well this more boorish expression kind of suits her! That and it’s surprisingly cute!”

Add the cute diva born from an April Fool’s joke to your collection!

Nendoroid Joker: Villain’s Edition

Today’s main feature!

“You… you complete me.”

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan) Today I’m going to be taking a look at a product that went up for preorder earlier today:

Nendoroid Joker: Villain’s Edition

From the popular DC Comics film ‘The Dark Knight’ comes a Nendoroid of the Joker based on the highly acclaimed version of Joker played by Heath Ledger. He is also the first ever villain from a live action film to join the Nendoroid world!

His eccentric yet twisted face paint has been carefully shrunk down into Nendoroid size, and he comes with both a glaring expression and a twisted smiling expression that certainly can’t be compared to any previous Nendoroid smiles! The back, left and right sides of his trademark purple coat are all movable allowing you to easily pose anything from his signature standing poses to casually cracking a joke. Optional parts include a knife, stacks of money and a joker playing card, allowing you to recreate various different situations as well!

Oooooohhh! (´□｀｡)

The Nendoroid is based on the acclaimed version of the Joker from ‘The Dark Knight’ played by the late Heath Ledger. His unique appearance has been preserved while also shrunk down into Nendoroid size! ★

He is also the first ever villain character from an American comic series to join the Nendoroid series!!


△ Even as a Nendoroid he looks rather intimidating!

Not only is his characteristic face somehow Nendorofied, the unique wavy hair has also all been preserved in the sculpt! I think this kind of hairstyle might be a first for a Nendoroid! ♡


△ Note the one part loose from the rest showing the side of his forehead!

Also note that even the lining of his jacket is painted a different color to the main purple! The skirt, neck-tie and waistcoat are also all visible, showing off the Joker’s stylish dressing sense in lovely detail even in Nendoroid size! (●´ω｀●)

△ The clothes really look layered on through the sculptwork! ♪

Also take note of his fingers!!

Those curls in the fingers capture the Joker’s bizarre personality in a way that I just can’t explain! It just suits him so well!! The flaps of the left, right and back of his purple coat are also movable allowing you to pose him with slightly different nuances! ヽ(゜◇゜ )ノ

△The intricate sculpt of his hair together with the long coat come together
to create a really amazing appearance even from the back!

Of course the ideal Nendoroid to display with the Joker is the previously released Nendoroid Batman: Hero’s Edition!

The Joker comes with both a knife and a Joker playing card which he can be displayed holding to recreate various scenes from the film! ε=(｡・д・｡)

He also comes with…

Three stacks of money!!

Not quite the pile you might remember, but at least it’s a start to get your imagination going!! He also comes with an alternate expression that is sure to make you hear his sinister laugh in your head…

A sinister smiling face!

It might be a ‘smiling’ expression, but it certainly isn’t like most Nendoroids that have smiling expressions!! 

By the way, the money parts are not connected together and can be placed in any way that you can balance them! You can even place them in his hand if you’re careful!

I looked at this expression for a little too long and broke out into a bit of a cold sweat… (´Д｀；)

I wasn’t really looking at what I was taking photos of as I was too scared to meet his eyes… 

He may be one of the most evil villains in the DC Universe, but you can’t deny there is something about him that really draws people to love him all the same!! Be sure to add the adorable twisted Joker to your collection! ♥︎

Nendoroid Hotaru Ichijo

I think I failed at getting dressed this morning. I had no idea it was going to be so cold outside today!! I should definitely have worn more layers…

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Hotaru Ichijo!♡

From the slice-of-life comedy anime ‘Non Non Biyori’ comes a Nendoroid of Hotaru Ichijo also known as ‘Hotarun’! She comes with a mature smiling expression, a childish crying expression and the daydreaming expression she often had around Komari-senpai.

As a 5th year primary school student she comes with her ransel backpack, and she also comes with two of her self-made Koma-chan dolls – one to hold up in the air and another to hug! A special background sheet to recreate more scenes from the show is also included. Be sure to display her with the previously released Nendoroid Renge Miyauchi, who will also be available again at the same time as Hotaru!

From the super relaxing slice-of-life series ‘Non Non Biyori Repeat’ comes a Nendoroid of the mature transfer student, Hotaru Ichijo!

Her gentle looking smile and elegant appearance have been faithfully preserved in Nendoroid size!! Her frilly Western-style clothes have also been sculpted so adorably! They definitely give her a more grown-up appearance! (●´ω｀●)

But no matter how old she may look, Hotarun is only a 5th year primary school student! Take a look from the back and you’ll see…

She has her red primary school backpack!

The backpack connects into the hole that the Nendoroid stand would normally connect into, and then has a special vertical stand that connects into the bottom!

△ This alone is more than enough to keep the Nendoroid steady!

However, there are still more optional parts to come!

One thing that had to be included with Hotarun…

A Koma-chan Doll! ♥

The little doll of Komari-senpai hand-sewn by Hotaru is also included for her to hold by her side!! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

But that’s not all…

Another larger doll with a different expression for her to hold up!!! <○><○>

In other words she comes with two dolls in different positions and with different expressions for a variety of posing options! ★

△ The one doll is actually quite a lot bigger than the other! ♪

Plus she also comes with the perfect expression to hold the dolls! Her daydreaming expression!! っ(/ω＼)

She looks like she is in absolute paradise with this look on her face!! You can feel the love toward Komari-senpai!!

In addition, she also comes with a daydreaming background plate and adaptor to display it behind her! In other words, you can recreate this scene in its entirety!! ♡

△ Note that the Komari-chan in her arms can’t be removed from the arm!

The larger of the Koma-chan dolls comes with her very own little stand to allow her to stand by herself too!


△ The head can also be spun around for slightly different nuances!

But you can enjoy more than just Hotarun’s happy side! She also comes with an expression that shows that she can sometimes be a bit of a crybaby! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

The third expression is a crying expression! 

The unsure looking wobbly mouth, furled eyebrows and tears ready to drop from her eyes make for an expression a little more suited to her age! If you compare it to the smiling expression it looks like she aged a couple of years in a second!

It’s the kind of expression that makes me wish I could rush to her side and tell her that everything is going to be alright as soon as I see it!!

So many different parts that really bring out various different sides of her character so effectively!! Be sure to add the cute Hotarun to your collection! ♡

Painting Nendoroid Kashu Kiyomitsu’s Nails

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

My body has cycles that make me want to eat dango. I don’t need anko inside or anything – just standard three-color dango are delicious!!

Anyway, today I’m going to be doing a special blog in commemoration of Nendoroid Kashu Kiyomitsu’s release!! Today we’re going to be painting some nails!!

But what can we use to paint the tiny nails of a Nendoroid?

Today I’m going to be introducing two different methods with the help of Eco-shi from the production team and Hamako from the planning team! っ(。・ω・)ノ

Let’s get started!!

 

1) Marker Painting

– Items Used In this Section –　

· Bulldog clip
· Red Permanent Marker (Extra Fine)
· COPIC sketch 0 or sketch C00
· COPIC sketch R17
· COPIC ciao R59
· COPIC ciao R46

Note, you don’t need all of these pens! Simply choose the one that you think will suit you based on the info below!

The bulldog clip is used to hold the hand parts in place! This makes the work much more stable and keeps it nice and still while drying. A peg or something similar may also work if you can’t find a clip!


△ I’m using a standard product sample which should be the same as yours!

The first marker I’ll be trying out is a Red Permanent Marker! 

Hamako: Permanent markers are easy to get hold of and make a nice primer. The pen is hard which makes it easy to paint as well. The color is a little bit too light though…

Next we use some more artistic tools!

The COPIC ciao R46!★

 

Eco-shi: The ‘sketch’ series has many more colors, but the ciao series uses less ink which works better for intricate work like this. You can do tiny little sections at a time without too much trouble… but the tip is soft so do be careful not to apply too much pressure!

While the permanent marker is easy to get hold of, if you want a more accurate color than COPIC markers are for you!

COPIC’s items are often found on sites like amazon if they’re not available near you!

Also note Eco-shi’s posture to prevent shaking!

Painting something so small is probably harder than you think! Placing your arms at an angle to the table like this gives good support and allows for more stable work! ♪

The two of them are trying their nail painting, so now it’s my turn!

COPIC sketch R17!

Gah! I already painted on too much… (/ω＼)

I guess I was rushing too much with the confidence that Eco-shi had given me…

But I have no need to worry! There is a solution to this!!

COPIC sketch C00!!

I actually bought this thinking it was a pen to mix COPIC colors, but it worked out that if you paint this onto the red area…

… give it a quick wipe with a tissue, and…

＼ Back to Normal! ／

This will get some red stains on the top of the COPIC sketch C00, so be sure to wipe the tip off as much as possible as well! ☆

△ If you leave even a little red in it will stay that way forever! Be sure to wipe it clean!

Note that the ideal COPIC pen for this is actually the ‘0’ colorless blender pen, which I only found out after writing this article! The above pen will work as an eraser though as long you you wipe it down with a tissue as soon as it is applied!

Anyway, let’s try that one again! (σ・∀・)σ

The two left fingers are painted with the COPIC ciao R59, the two right fingers with the COPIC ciao R46!

I made so many little tiny touches that the colors look a little irregular… I really am too clumsy for this!!

Compared to the permanent marker, the darker shades of the COPIC markers do match with the skin color a little better to me! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

By the way, the permanent marker can also be removed by the COPIC sketch C00, so it’s nice to have just in case!

Consensus: If you want nice deep colors use the COPIC markers, if you want a quick and easy job use a permanent marker!

2) Enamel Paints

– Items Used in this Section –

· Bulldog clip
· Fine Paintbrush
· 2x Paint Dishes (Paper Cups also work!)
· TAMIYA Color Enamel Paint Thinner (X-20)
· TAMIYA Color Enamel Paint Red (X-7)
· Cotton Swabs

This version is much closer to the actual way figures are painted!

First mix up the paint with a toothpick!

Then move some of the paint into a tray with the same toothpick!

△ The paint trays are just like palettes, so a paper cup or something similar also works!

In the second paint tray add some of the paint thinner! ε=(｡・д・｡)

Soak the paintbrush in the thinner and then brush it through the paint.

Add a fair amount of paint to the brush, and then carefully dab and brush onto each finger carefully!! ٩(๑òωó๑)۶

△ Eco-shi… so fast and accurate!!

If the paint spreads out too far, clean the brush and then dip it into the thinner from before and clear away the unnecessary paint with a gentle swipe!

△ “A second chance makes things much less stressful” – Clumsy Person.

Once you&re done be sure to clean the brush for next time!

By the way, when painting with enamel paints make sure to ventilate the room!!

It’s not a bad idea to place something on the table and wear an apron just in case!! ♪ Also note that enamel paint takes some time to dry! If you’re in a hurry you can rush the drying a little with a hairdryer!

But wait! We never used the cotton swabs! (/ω＼)

Eco-shi: If you make a big error or decide you don’t like the color, just dip the swabs in thinner and wipe off the paint entirely.

Here we have a comparison of all the different methods! From the left: Permanent marker, COPIC, enamel paint!

The shiny look of the paint definitely looks nice!!

If you feel like investing some time into the nail painting then I definitely recommend it!  But the markers certainly don’t look bad – especially from a distance! Simply select the option that suits you the best and give it a try!! Note that through either method the paint will likely fade over time, so you might need to do a little touch-up once in awhile!!

Here we have my COPIC painted Kashu who now sits beside me at my desk!! (●´ω｀●)

I painted the COPIC ciao R59 and COPIC ciao R46 on multiple times… giving a strange kind of shiny look!


△ This may or may not be the effect of layering COPICs on each other
