I’ve always been a fan of characters with a ‘woman’s touch’, so today I’m going to be taking a look at another one of Max Factory’s upcoming figures…

The 1/7th Scale ‘Benten’! ♡

From the popular manga serialized in ‘Monthly ASUKA’ magazine, ‘ZONE-00’ comes a 1/7th scale figure of the male character with a woman’s touch – Benten! The figure is based on a beautiful illustration by Kiyo Kyuujyuu – and has been faithfully recreated in all aspects! He is sure to capture the attention of whoever looks his way, and fans can enjoy keeping him by their side at all times!

Apologies for the long wait everyone!!

The lovely Benten is finally here! His pretty wings are opened out beautifully and long golden locks are all carefully positioned to create an amazingly dynamic pose!

It was a rather bold pose to undertake sculpting, but the details and design have been preserved beautifully! （*´▽｀*）

Just look at the sculpt of each of the wings, or the details on the ornaments that spiral around his legs!

The way his outfit is gently flowing around him is also stunning… it’s really a figure that you can see has had an amazing amount of attention put into it… not to mention you can really feel the love the sculptors have for the series! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

Just looking at him makes me feel all relaxed inside!!

The sculptor behind this figure is the same sculptor who brought us the 1/7th Scale Aoba – Nanako-san!♡


The amazing pose and feeling of Aoba floating through the air made this figure astounding itself… but the fact that motif items of each of the other characters in the game were included around him really made it a special figure to me!

But Benten is no exception… the detail is so astounding that the more I look at him the more I want to look!!


I grabbed this photo as the sunlight was lighting up his wings for me!

The wings are semi-transparent, so shining light on them looks really beautiful! I really love this figure so I’m going to be taking a look from every angle possible – starting with a closer look at the base! ♡

Benten stands on a log which is sitting in some rippling water! The lighting here makes the water look a bit dark, but it’s actually a rather deep green, transparent color!

Moving up just a little… look at those beautiful legs!!

I hope I captured his legs in enough angles to show you just how amazing they are…! ♪

Just to once again reiterate… as I’m sure many people unfamiliar with the character may not know…

I think that’s exactly what makes him all the more fascinating!!

That sideways glance and puckered lips… how could anyone not feel charmed by him!! (*´Д`)

What inspired you to make a figure of Benten-sama?

(・∀・) “Nanako, the sculptor, was a big fan of the manga and made a figure as part of a Max Factory internal competition… anyone could see just how much love had been poured into it!”

(・∀・) “After the competition, we wondered if it would be possible to actually release as a product and got in contact with Kyuujyuu-sensei!”

(・∀・) “Kyuujyuu-sensei illustrated a special Benten specially to be made into a figure… and Nanako was more than happy to sculpt it! It really us a figure sculpted with love!”

Looking at the illustration you can see just how faithfully the figure is sculpted! (*´Д｀)=з

(・∀・) “I know fans of Benten will enjoy this figure, but I think it’s also impressive enough to be bought by figure fans that don’t even know the series. You won’t be disappointed!”

You really do need to see the detail of the sculpt for yourself! It’s astounding!

(・∀・) “We also got in contact with the publishers of Monthly ASUKA magazine, and they agreed to publish this Benten on the back cover of the issue releasing on the 24th January!”

Finally a quick notice! The WonHobby 19 Official Site was opened today!

What is WonHobby? It’s a shortened version of WONDERFUL HOBBY LIFE FOR YOU!!, which refers to the joint booth of Good Smile Company and Max Factory at Wonder Festival. The booth at the upcoming Winter Wonder Festival 2014 will be the 19th time the joint team has taken part in the event.

Nendoroid Mayoi Hachikuji!

I live about a 10 minute walk away from my nearest station… and after being in the nice warm offices all day long the walk from the station to my house is always absolutely freezing…!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at a figure scheduled to ship out from GSC today…

Nendoroid Mayoi Hachikuji!

Mayoi-chan!! ♡（*´▽｀*）

The second Nendoroid from the Monogatari series is finally being released! The cute, loli character with a huge backpack and lovely twintails – Mayoi-chan!

Her twin tails are of course attached with ball joints allowing you to position them to match any poses! Plus she also comes with the cute expression for when she stammers! (｀・ω・´)

The eyes are definitely cute… but the way her tongue is sticking out is simply adorable!! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

The huge backpack can also be removed!

This means you can recreate the scene where she has lost her backpack and doesn’t remember where she put it! (σ・∀・)σ

This is how she looks from the back without the backpack!

Another highlight for me is the detail that has been put into the backpack!
I love the cute round shape of the backpack, let alone all the cute accessories!

When you pose her crouching down with her backpack, you can balance her securely with the included little stand here!

Simply attach it into the bottom of the backpack! (o・ω・o)

If you then attach the backpack onto Mayoi-chan… you’ll see just what a lovely stand it makes for her!! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

What’s this? A strange yellow creature is headed toward her!


wooser is sniffing around for the gals of the future!

I decided to borrow an expression from Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Yukata Ver. Natsutsubaki to pose her with wooser!

It looks like she’s about to try and eat him!!? (ﾟＡﾟ;)
I’m fairly certain wooser would enjoy that though! ♥

Various expressions suit Mayoi-chan really well, but…

Personally I love this winking expression the best! (｀・ω・´)

You really get a good feeling for Mayoi-chan’s optimistic and playful personality!!

I found another super cute use for the stammering expression too! ( -ﾉｪ-)

By the way, as I’m sure some of you have noticed, Mayoi-chan comes with two straight bars along with her standard Nendoroid stand.

These allow for various different poses when displaying her with the backpack attacked! Just attach the other end of the bars into the bottom of the backpack at the height that suits you better!

She also comes with a number of alternate hand parts for all sorts of poses from the series – just look at them all! ♥

Have the adorable Mayoi-chan by your side in the pose you prefer!

Nendoroid Chris Yukine

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

Tonight is apparently going to be Tokyo’s first snow of the Winter, so I’m rather anxious and fidgety!

The Japanese word for snow is ‘yuki‘, so to celebrate the potential snow I’m going to be taking a look at a Chris Yukine figure! ♡ She’s shipping out from GSC on the 16th January!

Nendoroid Chris Yukine!

The third Nendoroid released equipped with a Symphogear System, ready to sing and fight against the Noise! Her slim build yet ample bust have been faithfully shrunk down into Nendoroid size! ＜●＞＜●＞

*Bounce* *Bounce* ♡ (*´Д`)

You can also see her lovely thighs! What a brilliant outfit! （( -ﾉｪ-)

But there is much more volume to this figure than just her bust!

She also comes with a number of optional parts which can be put together to pose Chris firing the ‘BILLION MAIDEN’ Gatling Cannon!

Also included and perfect for combat scenes…

Just like the previous Nendoroids in the series, a Nendoroid-sized Noise figure is also included to pose with the character!

Other weapon options include the miniature missile launcher, ‘MEGA DETH PARTY’!

Missile parts to pose her firing the missiles from the launcher are also included! ♪

But that’s not all! I think this weapon breaks the size-record for all weapons in the past – the
‘MEGA DETH QUARTET’ missile launcher is also included!!!

The huge missile launcher is included for both her left and right side! (｀・ω・´)

As expected of the ‘Large Capacity Gatling Girl’! ★

As she comes with so many huge weapons, a special stand is also included to display them all on!

The normal Nendoroid stand is 6cm x 6cm, but Chris’ is 8cm x 8cm! (The normal size stand is also included if you’d prefer to keep all your Nendoroids on the same size!)

You can actually get a good idea of just how much she comes with by looking at the size of the box she comes in – it’s rather large compared to the normal Nendoroid box size!

Not only is is larger in width…

It’s also longer than the average box! Of course the blister pack inside is just as impressive… and even comes in two layers! (ﾟＡﾟ;)


In my review of the prototype, Oda-P mentioned this…

(・∀・) “Honestly it was hard to include all these weapons… but we just couldn’t resist!!”

Looking at how large the box ended up becoming… this was definitely no joke! A third season of the anime has also been announced now… so we have a brand new story to look forward to soon!

Saving the best for last… she also comes with parts to recreate the scene where she protects Hibiki and Tsubasa! Her swansong expression as well as the laser cannons from the scene! (｀・ω・´)


So many parts, sure to satisfy any fans of the series! （*´▽｀*）

Having so many different options to choose from really gets me all excited!! ♪

Plus… although it was hidden at the time of announcement… she also comes with special hand parts that allow her to be posed holding hands with Hibiki and Tsubasa! (｀・ω・´)

The three of them look so lovely together! ♡

1/7th Scale Cerberus!

I spent my whole long weekend shut in my room! It’s definitely the best way to relax for me! Anyway, today it’s back to work… and today I’ll be starting the week off with an amazing item from Max Factory…

1/7th Scale Cerberus!

From the popular social game ‘Rage of Bahamut’ comes a 1/7th scale figure of the popular Demon-type character, Cerberus! The figure is based on the Legendary Card ‘[Tricepticanus Magica] Cerberus’ illustrated by popular illustrator Mushimaro, and the unique atmosphere created by the card has been faithfully converted into figure form!

Cerberus’ innocent expression and beautiful body are ready to charm anyone who comes her way, and her unique purple outfit as well as the golden ornaments that adorn it have been sculpted with the finest of detail. The gradient of her hair and skirt have also been fine-tuned to create a figure that fans will be proud to own.

From the popular social game ‘Rage of Bahamut’ comes a figure of the ultimate mixture of mature sexiness and innocent cuteness!

Her tight fitting shiny metallic outfit contrasts with her silky smooth skin to wonderful effect! ♡

From behind you get a good look at her shoulder blades, as well as the long flowing part of her outfit you find below them!

The two flowing pieces of fabric together with her twin tails both give the figure an amazingly dynamic appearance! ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ

The two doggies in her hands are also amazingly detailed!

The hair looks so soft and fluffy!!
I can’t fight the urge to try and ruffle it up! ε=(｡・д・｡)

The bizarre contrast of the cute little dogs with the sexy outfit is somehow super appealing to me!! (｀・ω・´)

I’m sure everyone has also noticed the sexy little belly button by now – not to mention the ribs you can just make out beneath her armor!

The curves down from her hips to her bottom is also fantastic! ＜●＞＜●＞

Looking at a slight angle really brings out the naughty look on her face!
It’s so cute!! (*´Д`)

Max Factory really never let me down!! Every single part of this figure is so detailed you almost can’t help but stare! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

The generous amount of skin she is showing off is lovely… but the outfit is also so amazing! It’s simply filled with amazing sculptwork!

(・∀・) “It’s not just the sculpting! We also focused a lot on the colors and paintwork!”

Today we’re joined by Max Factory’s Kaneko Nitohei!

(・∀・) “The metallic look of the outfit as well as the overall use of color was closely supervised by the illustrator, Mushimaro! We redid things over and over until we were all satisfied with the result.”

Ooh, I see! The use of gradients on the back of her outfit and hair is also such a lovely blend of colors!

(・∀・) “Personally I’d like to point out this area on her legs!”


(・∀・) “The purple at the knee changes over to a different, darker purple from the calves and down! This area isn’t even visible on the original cards, but with help from the illustrator we kept everything just the way is should be!”

The golden lining on her feet also matches up with the rest of the design beautifully, giving her a really beautiful appearance!

(・∀・) “There is also a Rage of Bahamut Anime coming soon, so I hope everyone will keep their eyes out on both that and the figures!”

‘Monogatari’ Series Cafe: Second Season!

I keep realizing that I have the Otorimonogatari OP ‘Mousou Express’ stuck in my head, and so today I’m going to be taking a look at the ‘Monogatari’ Series Café: Second Season which started today! ♡

Here is my seat for today!

All the heroines from the show are decorating the table beautifully! The two that are covered up in this photo can be seen here! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

With the second season, the characters all seem to have a new set of charms to accompany their characters! I already want to rewatch through the whole second season! ((o(´∀｀)o))

So… what should I order today?

Today I’m joined by a Nendo shipping out from GSC from the 16th January…

Nendoroid Mayoi Hachikuji!

Yep! Once again I’m not alone! I brought a friend to keep me company!
I’m not… alone!! (´；ω；｀)

Anyway, today I’ll be ordering the recommendation of Kimuraya from the café team… the Fringe-Girl Set!

I also decided I needed some dessert, and since Mayoi-chan was with me, I decided it should be the Mayoi Hachikuji (Adult) Purification Plate!

But which drink should I pick…?

Mayoi looks like she wants the ‘Deishu Kaiki’ drink, so I’ll go with that one!

As usual with every order, you will also get your hands on some unique goodies! There are three different placemats, 20 different badges and nine different coasters!

Only after I had ordered did I realize just how cute the Mayoi-chan coaster is!! I was a little upset that I didn’t pick that drink… but I’ll have to come back and get it at a later stage! (｀・ω・´；)

Anyway, while I’m waiting for my food and drink, let’s take a look at what is on display this time around! Starting with the ceiling! ★


Beautiful tapestries line the ceiling, filled with everyone’s favorite characters! ♡

Those two cute loli girls are looking right at me!! (*´Д`)

The inner side walls are filled with scene cuts from each of the different arcs!


 

 

The walls closer to the entrance have the Monogatari series figures on display!

I also heard a birdie say there might be a new Nendoroid on display soon…!
( -ﾉｪ-)Sssh!

But there are also other goodies to see, including all the latest Blu-rays, T-shirts featuring Hajime Ueda’s illustrations! You can even see the full page adverts that were in the Yomiuri newspaper! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

Plus the projector on the back wall is playing the promotional videos of each of the Monogatari series! Please note that photos and filming of the video screening is not allowed!

Phew… after wandering around the café…

It seems my ‘Deishu Kaiki’ drink has arrived!

I-It’s certainly an interesting color…! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

At first glace it does look a bit muddy… but the tropical flower and lemon on the top definitely brighten things up a bit!

But how does it taste…?

. .. … …. ….. Delicious! ♪ (o・ω・o)

It has a rather Southern taste to it… kind of a Blue Hawaii cross orange juice taste!

Although it looks muddy, it actually has a clear, refreshing taste! ♪

Ah! My Fringe-Girl Set has also arrived!

This set includes hijiki rice as well as some warm udon noodles! They all taste super good… warming up the body and the mind! ε=(｡・д・｡)

As it includes both rice and noodles… it’s also nice and filling!!

Two dried plums included! I hadn’t eaten these in ages… they were sour, but tasty! Anyway… let me go grab my badges while waiting for my dessert! ☆


For each item you order from the menu, you receive one coin to use in the capsule machine! I ordered three items so I get three badges!

There are a total of twenty different designs! I got these three…

They’re all rather dark!!

I love the close up on the eye!

By the way… the placemat I received with my meal is on display at my work desk right now! ♪

I love those Nadeko’s evil glare at the bottom!! Nom Nom!!

Anyway, let’s get onto the dessert! ★

Puffed grain, candy floss with sugar candy and candy apples! Definitely reminds you of a certain scene from the series… and also gives off a lovely festival-like feeling! ♪

I made sure to give some to my Nendoroid Mayoi-chan too!


I actually think this was the first time I’ve ever eaten a candy apple while not at a festival!

The dessert also includes a coaster featuring the adult Mayoi-chan! The selection of sweet goodies made for a lovely dessert! I recommend it to anyone who visits! ﾍ(ﾟ∀ﾟ*)ﾉ

There are still so many other options on the menu I didn’t get to try today… but I’m sure I’ll be back before the end of the month!

Nendoroid Komari Kamikita

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

My first shrine visit of the year was Yasaka Shrine! Kyoto is definitely where I feel most at home! Unfortunately the fortune I pulled for the year was ‘Bad Luck’, but I tied it up at the shrine so all should be good! (´；ω；｀)

But I can’t let my guard down yet! I need to ensure my bad luck doesn’t come true, and I’ll do so my following the ‘Theory of Spiral Happiness’! By helping people around me to be happy, I’ll become happy myself!

Today I’ll be introducing a Nendoroid of the cute girl who taught me the happiness spiral theory…

Nendoroid Komari Kamikita! ♡

From the popular anime series ‘Little Busters! ~Refrain~’ comes a Nendoroid of the spirited girl who loves candy and fairy tales – Komari Kamikita! She comes with three expressions including her standard expression, a gentle smiling expression as well a chibi expression.

Her cute twin-tails as well as the long ribbons that tie them up can be posed at various angles, allowing for various dynamic poses. She also comes with sitting parts allowing you to recreate the scene with her legs curled up to the side, based on one of the popular illustrations from the original game! Komari-chan also comes with a donut and sucker to satisfy her love for sweet things!

Be sure to display her with the previously released Kudryavka Noumi and Rin Natsume!

She’s SO CUTE!! ♡♡ （*´▽｀*）

The optimistic, rather carefree character is finally joining the Nendoroid series! She’s the third Nendoroid so far, following on from Kudryavka Noumi and Rin Natsume!

“This way! This way!”

The ribbons that tie up her two cute twin tails are articulated for all sorts of different ways! Combined with the various expressions she can take quite a number of different poses!♡

By this I don’t just mean her twin tails are articulated – the ribbons themselves are separately movable themselves! This option was added in by her sculptor, Hidetoshi Nishibu! (｀・ω・´)

Hidetoshi was also the same sculptor who made Nendoroid Natsume Rin… you can real feel his love for the series! ♥

Her skirt has also been included in perfect detail… and while I can’t go into too much detail, there is even some extra detail on some areas you’ll have to check when you get her for yourself!

She also comes with a chibi face… I can just hear her “Hawawa” voice playing through my head when looking at this expression! (｡・д・｡)

Display her together with Rin-chan to recreate various scenes from the series! ♪

I think I personally want to nominate ‘hawawa’ and ‘gununu’ as the two cutest onomatopoeic words! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Just looking at me makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! This is what it means to have the power to make others happy!!

(・∀・) “Yep! She comes with some sitting parts to pose her sitting eating sweets just like in the series!”

Ooh! Not to mention she’s barefoot!!

It’s quite unusual to see a barefoot Nendoroid… sometimes they come with swimsuit options, but a barefoot Nendoroid in a school uniform is definitely rather rare! ( -ﾉｪ-)ｺｯｿﾘ

(・∀・) “Not only that, but she also comes with another piece of candy that can make everyone happy…!

Ooh! If I use this together with her standard expression…! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

When looking at this expression from straight ahead it looks pretty normal… but somehow when looking at it from above it looks like she’s staring right back at you… the upward gaze somehow has a rather sexy look about it…! (Maybe it’s just me… :P)

That aside… those bare feet really are lovely!!

A certain yellow creature happened to hear me talking about bare feet and came to join in on the fun! ( -ﾉｪ-)

wooser may have a fairly dark heart, but the angelic Komari-chan is happy to share her candy with him!!

It looks unbelievably epic, and includes fully articulated wings, legs and torso! The cockpit features lights and the mouth area can even be opened and closed!

The metallic looking appearance is fantastic!

Even though it looks rather shiny, threeA’s classic damaged paintwork is still definitely noticeable too!

The wings can also be folded up to the side like so! ☆

I’m sure I’m not the only one that thinks this picture looks a bit like a cute little penguin…! I don’t normally get the chance to play with huge figures like this as GSC doesn’t make them itself… but I’d love to play around with this model a bit! (/ω・＼)

Snow Miku 2014: The ‘Spell Book Stand’ Revealed!

I must admit I’m still stuck in holiday mode a little… but that’s not going to stop me from bringing everyone some new Snow Miku information!! (｀・ω・´)

I’m sure from the title and first photo you already have an idea of what I’ll be showing today… the very first look at the special stand included with the upcoming Nendoroid Snow Miku: Magical Snow Ver!

The Spell Book Stand!!

Oooh!!! It’s adorable!!! （*´▽｀*）

The product description for this Snow Miku says that she includes a ‘special spell book stand’ and I’m sure many wondered what that would be – it really is just that, a stand that looks just like a mystical spell book! You can see that compared with the Nendoroid itself, the book is rather large too!

It also appears to have such a lovely texture! It’s like a classic leather binding! If I ever entered a magic school this is exactly the kind of book I’d expect to find in their libraries! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

But with all that said…
How exactly is this book is a ‘stand’ for the Nendoroid?! (´・ω・｀)

(・∀・) “Allow me to explain!!”

Once again we are joined by Hamako from the planning team!

(・∀・) “This spell book can in fact open up like this!”

Oooh! It opens!! Σ(ﾟ∀ﾟﾉ)ﾉ!!

(・∀・) “The book has a hole to attach a Nendo prop, just like a standard Nendoroid stand!”

It’s like she is popping out from the book! So cute!! ♡

It also gives the Nendoroid quite an impressive presence with the sheer size of the base! No wonder it’s called a ‘special’ stand!

(・∀・) “But that’s not all! This stand has another secret!”

W-What…?!

What do you mean by another secret…?

(・∀・) “Take a look! ☆”

It opened up even more!! (ﾟ∀ﾟﾉ)!!

(・∀・) “Yep! The book has a secret area which can be used to store things in!”

From the outside it just looks like a magical tome, but it functions as both a Nendoroid stand and a storage container! You could even keep Snow Miku’s spare optional parts inside!” ♥

(・∀・) “We actually struggled quite a bit to get this looking ‘book-like'”

Oh yeah! Is the book actually made from leather?!


(・∀・) “Not quite. It’s actually made from paper that has undergone a special process to give it this unique leather-like appearance!”

Paper! How can paper have such a realistic leathery look!
Technology nowadays sure is amazing… (；´∀｀)

(・∀・) “Well as I said, it wasn’t easy… we went though many, many tests in order to get the quality and texture right. The first sample that came from the factory looked like crocodile skin… it was more of a wallet than a book!”

But through trial-and-error, it ended up as this ‘leather’ bound book! ε=(｡・д・｡)

(・∀・) “Yep! We also made a few other small book-like adjustments, like adding thin lines on the side to show all the pages, and adjusting the inside area to better match the cover!

Not to mention the shiny gold imprint on the cover!
It makes it all the more magical!

(・∀・) “When the final sample of the gold imprint came through, it looked just like a real spell book! I was so excited!”

I can see just how much you enjoyed working on this special stand and I’m sure everyone will love it! It ensures that this year’s Snow Miku is just as impressive in size and extras as last year’s! ♥

Today we start off with Rensouhou-chan! ♪

But I think everyone would rather have this part in focus!

Today I’ll be taking a look at…

figma Shimakaze!

Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

It’s been a little while since she debuted on the December Kahotan Station… but she’s finally ready to be announced on the GSC site! I heard that she was being released soon, so I specially went and asked Max Factory if I could borrow the prototype for a review! (・ω<)★

Not only is the Shimakaze herself adorable… the figma also comes with three differently sized Rensouhou-chans!

A small one!

A medium one!

and a large one!

The biggest one of them even has articulated arms and legs for all sorts of fun poses! The triumphant expression is also so cute! It kind of makes me wish the Nendoroid had that expression too!! (*´Д`)

But don’t worry… the super popular expression that was included with the Nendoroid is also included with the figma – her embarrassed ‘damaged’ expression!

…a damaged body isn’t included with the figma… but that can easily be fixed with a little imagination!! (｀・ω・´)

I can see it!! I can see her cute damaged appearance in my mind’s eye!! ♥

The next section I’d like everyone to pay attention to…!


The line from her thighs up to her bottom!!

The same base figma everyone has come to love… yet with the most soft, touchable appearance ever! It looks amazing!!

The way her knee-high socks are a little tight on the skin just adds to the effect! （*´▽｀*）

She’s absolutely delicious!! ♡

But there’s much more to her than just the thighs and bottom…! (｀・ω・´)


Her stomach area is also simply fantastic!

I know that on first glance it’s hard to stop your eyes from wandering to her cute bottom… but her hips and stomach are fully exposed to enjoy to your heart’s content!

The way the stomach is sticking out ever so slightly also makes it seem so soft… it’s hard to resist trying to touch it!! Having a little bit of skin sticking out like this is always better than being completely flat in my eyes!

Her stomach area is simply fantastic! (I had to repeat myself…)

The hips connecting the fine stomach to the lovely bottom are also beautiful! So shapely and charming!! ε=(｡・д・｡)

Looking from the front you get a good look at her cute belly-button! ♪

I don’t know if I’m going to be able to part with this prototype…
I want to sit and play with her forever!! ー(/ω・＼)

… but Kaneko Nitohei-san from Max Factory came by asking for it to be returned… so I was a good girl and gave it back…. for now! ★

Definitely a figma that fans will enjoy having by their side!

Happy New Year! Wishing Everyone a Great 2014!

Happy New Year!!



A happy 2014 to everyone, and I hope you will support GSC and Kahotan Blog throughout the year once more!

Good Smile Company’s New Year holiday officially ends as of today, and thus I am back to start up the first blog for 2014!

As it was the first day of the New Year, we also had a New Year’s Greeting Meeting this morning! Speaking of greetings… did you notice that the first images of today’s blog were in fact stamps?

Special one-of-a-kind rubber stamps made all by myself!

Our story begins on Christmas Eve…

It’s nearly Christmas… I mean, New Years!

I want to add something onto the blog that has a New Year theme to it!
My ideas were making mochi, or making New Year stamps…

Eventually I settled on making stamps!
(As I figured making mochi would be rather hard without any help…)

So today, the first blog of 2014, will show how I made these New Year Stamps!

With the new year I decided I have to try more and more new things, and I hope some of you will watch over me as I go through with them! (｀・ω・´)

1) Think of a Design for the Stamp.


First up, you need to come up with some ideas for the design of the stamp!

As you can see, I got a little distracted at times…!

At one point I wanted to make a horsey stamp as well, but I was forced to give up on that idea when I realized I couldn’t draw a horse…

2) Copy the Final Design of the Stamp.

Once you’ve decided on a design, get some tracing paper and draw the final version of the design on it as accurately as possible! I’ll be starting with the 2014! φ(*’д’* )


W-What have I done…?

The cute smile mark I had in my head has come out looking rather… eerie. I’m sure I’ll be able to fix it up later on!

Then simply press the tracing paper onto the stamp to transfer the design to be carved out! (I’m making use of a special ‘rubber stamp kit’, which can be found at various handicraft stores as well as on amazon!)

Press hard to help the design transfer over!

I-It’s so pale!!

But I’m not worried! For I have a permanent marker by my side!! (｀・ω・´)

Phew! That’s made it much clearer, and also allowed me to fix up the smile mark a little bit! the eerie grin looks a little bit more like a ‘good smile’ now! ♡

3) Slowly but Surely Carve out the Design.

Now that the design is in place, all that’s left is to carve it out and create the stamp!

In the photo above I have an impressive line up of tools… but to be honest I only ever used the one on the far left… ^^;

Here you need to carve away all the white areas, leaving the black areas marked with the permanent marker!

Hmm… It’s harder than I expected to do this neatly…

Whilst slowly carving out the design and remembering my days in kindergarten carving potato stamps… I looked out the window to see Mt.Fuji beside the Skytree…! ♥


What an auspicious sight!

The Skytree was still in Christmas mode at the time… but I had already moved completely into New Years mode!!

More than enough inspiration for me to complete my stamps!

D-Done! Mission Complete!!

And… it’s completely dark outside now!!

It’s already dark out and I’ve only just finished the first stamp!

As a little break, I decided to test out the ‘2014’ stamp before moving on!


Ooh! It’s looking good!

Even the smile mark is still looking like a rather gentle smile! Yay!

Next up is the ‘Kahotan’ (カホタン) stamp! (ﾟＡﾟ;)

The design is already complete!

I just need to transfer this onto the rubber stamp set…

… and I’m done!

And thus my first attempt at rubber stamp creation comes to an end!

The results…

I must admit it took a lot longer than I expected… (´；ω；｀)

I’m fairly well known to be quite clumsy in the offices, but no matter how long it may take me, I’m going to do my best to challenge myself to new things this year!
