Seeing the hail in Tottori prefecture reminded me of the ‘Ice no Mi’ candy. I still remember when they came in boxes instead of packets!

Anyway! Today I’m going to be taking a look at this Nendoroid from the popular anime Girl Friend Beta…

Nendoroid Kokomi Shiina!♥︎

From the popular social game ‘Girl Friend Beta’ comes a Nendoroid of the beautiful member of the rhythmic gymnastics club, Kokomi Shiina! She comes with three expressions including a gentle smiling face, an embarrassed face as well as her well-known “Search, search!” whispering face.

Optional parts include her school bag, gymnastics equipment as well as a search panel allowing you to recreate poses from various illustrations from the game in Nendoroid size! A special voice unit with all new voice clips is also included with the Nendoroid! Enjoy your very own little girlfriend by your side!

St. Sakura Academy 2nd Year B-Class! The quiet beauty Kokomi Shiina is joining the Nendoroids!

Along with the lovely smile above, she also comes with this expression!

“A-Ah! I’m so sorry! That’s not right! I’m so embarrassed…”

A cute embarrassed expression with a touch of worry in her eyes! 

She also comes with both her school bag and a smaller pink bag to carry, to fully pose her on her way to class!

The chequered pattern on her dress is lovely and detailed, with intricate frills! The golden lining on her blazer also looks lovely- the details on her outfit are such a pleasure to see! (○´Д｀)(´Д｀●）

She also comes with her gymnastics equipment – a ribbon and clubs! 

The soft, loose feeling of the ribbon has been preserved so nicely! 

Looking at her body gives a good idea as to why she is so well-known in the rhythmic gymnastics club! She even lay off her favourite sweet goodies to help keep her proportions for gymnastics! Once she wins I’ll be sure to give her some delicious melon bread!

Anyway, perhaps the most unique thing about this Nendoroid is this rather interesting part…

A voice unit is included!!

The speech bubble beside her is the speech unit, and the lines on the front can be switched out to different lines!

That also of course means there are various lines to be said too! ♪

A total of five different lines are included on the voice unit! ♥︎
One of the line is of course the famous ‘Search, Search!’ line, but the other four lines are all included based on the ‘Voice Unit Word Collection Campaign’ run on Twitter awhile back.

Which means four of the lines were specially recorded just for the Nendoroid! (OωO )

Plus! Depending on where you order from, the voice unit might include a bonus line as well!! Orders from the GOOD SMILE ONLINE SHOP as well as from famima.com each include a unique line exclusive to the store, which also comes from the lines collected during the campaign! <○><○>

The game is well known for capturing people with the lovely voices, so it only makes sense that the Nendoroid also allows you to enjoy that part of the series! But there is lots more to enjoy as well!

She comes with various parts, allowing you to enjoy all sorts of different poses!

St. Sakura Academy 3rd Year A-Class: The Japan loving French lady Chloe Lemaire is also joining the Nendoroids!

She has a similar school uniform, but with a contrasting red color and white knee-high socks! Not to mention her beautiful blond hair! Lemaire also includes her notebook and the pen with a cute little cat character on the top! ε=(｡・д・｡)

She also includes her beret, which can easily be attached and removed! ♥︎

The beret combined with the smiling face gives her a very clear and mature looking appearance! ♪

On the other hand, this expression captures her innocent and playful side!

Chloe is well-known for her sudden spikes of curiosity, and when they come her eyes sparkle with excitement! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

I would be happy to take her to conveyor sushi everyday if I got to see this expression each time!

Oh, by the way! I forgot to mention while introducing Kokomi, but both of them come with two ‘search bar’ parts!

The standard well-known green one, as well as a special orange ‘Good Smile’ one! They are included with both Nendoroids! (´□｀｡)

Chloe also comes with a voice unit! (σ･ω･)σ

Just like Kokomi she comes with five standard lines, with an optional sixth line depending on where you preorder from!

Nendoroid Sakura Miku: Bloomed in Japan!

Sakura Miku: Made in Japan!

As everyone who was watching the live broadcast already knows, today I’ll be taking a look at the very first product to be shipped out from GSC’s new factory in Japan!

Nendoroid Sakura Miku:
Bloomed in Japan!♡

 

The very first of Good Smile Company’s Nendoroids to be ‘MADE IN JAPAN’ is a freshly designed version of Sakura Miku, with an adorable pink outfit filled with images of Spring and cherry blossoms! She is also the commemorative Nendoroid No.500!

This time around Sakura Miku comes with three expressions including her standard face, a cute absent-minded expression and an expression with an open mouth that can be used as either a smiling face or for displaying her enjoying some Springtime treats!

Along with her standard twintails, she also comes with an alternate set of braided twintails for a completely fresh appearance! Other optional parts include some hanami dango, amazake and a cup on a tray – various items for her to enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms together with you!

Ooooooooohhhh!!! ヽ(´ω｀*)ノ

Not only is she the first GSC figure to be ‘Made in Japan’, she is also Nendoroid No.500!!! ♥︎ A Nendoroid that needs to be commemorated for two different things at once!

She is similar to the previously released Nendoroid Sakura Miku, but the outfit has been redesigned and the joints have been changed into the Nendoroid 2.0 format, for an all new Miku with the same lovely colors! Just looking at her makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! (/ω＼)

This is how she looks from the back! ☆

The twin-tails are slightly translucent for a light, airy effect! ♪

The joints on the ends are also decorated with lovely cherry blossom accessories! Three on the front and one on the back! Her outfit itself is also covered in cherry blossom shapes! φ(．． )

(・∀・) “Let’s take a look at the optional parts!”

We’re joined by the figure’s planner, Hamako! 

(・∀・) “This time around, the sub-theme for Sakura Miku was ‘Japan’! The ornaments around her dress were sculpted was actually modelled off a kimono braid! There are also various optional parts to capture the taste of Japan!”

“A tray, dango, amazake and sake cup!”

I really like the choice of including amazake!
I love amazake!! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

(・∀・) “These are of course the traditional things to eat and drink while looking at the cherry blossoms! Although most amazake doesn’t even much – if any – alcohol, I can still just imagine Miku getting a little tipsy which looks so cute in my head! That image meant I had to include the amazake!”

I can see how it could be cute!! 

(・∀・) “You don’t even need to imagine it any more, as this expression captures it nicely!”

So cute!!! +ﾟ｡*(*´∀｀*)*｡ﾟ+

(・∀・) “She has a bit of a cat-like smile, with her cheeks glowing a lovely warm pink!”

Depending on how you look at it, this could also be used to show her enjoying the beautiful blossoms as well!

(・∀・) “She also comes with an expression with an open mouth, which can be posed to display her enjoying the dango!” 

The triangular shape to her mouth is so adorable!

I really love that super innocent look that this expression gives! ♥︎

By the way! The bent leg that can be used for all sorts of posed has been made usable on both her left and right side this time around! It makes it easier to grab certain nuances with your poses! ♪

(・∀・) “Take a closer look here too! The fold-over skirt is actually overlapping at certain areas – to look a bit like petals!”

Ah, I see what you mean!! The front part is definitely on top here!

(・∀・) “This was actually made like this as I originally wanted a design to look a bit like a kimono! We tried all sorts of different things, but in the end this petal-like dress was the result! I call it the wraparound kimono petal skirt! I’m actually really happy with the way it came out!”

Even though it’s a skirt it definitely have a slight Japanese air to it! The way the ‘petals’ are overlapping also give the outfit a very soft looking appearance! The petals also give her a much more flowery looking appearance compared to the previous pleats!   ヾ(●´∀｀●)

(・∀・) “There are certain things that match up with her older version like the cat-mouth look on an expression, but for the most part everything has been freshly made! It is after all a very special milestone in a number of ways… I wanted to make sure it felt fresh and special!! In fact, there is still one more very special part that separates her even more and gives Miku a very original appearance! Braids!!“

*ﾟдﾟ)*ﾟДﾟ) Ooooh!!! 

This… this is just… I’m speechless!!

(・∀・) “I always thought that braids would look cute on Miku, but you never see them very often! I tried sketching a few ideas and thought this looked the cutest!”

Braid Miku!! She’s so cute! Filled with Hamako’s love too!! (*´Д｀)♥︎ 

Also… this is the same open mouth expression from before but with a blossom in front of the mouth! It gives it a rather different feeling! っε=(｡・д・｡)

(・∀・) “She looks quite mature like this, doesn’t she! Even with the same expression, careful changes in poses can often create a very different experience – that’s particularly true with this Nendoroid!”

By the way… this is the first GSC product to be ‘Made in Japan’, was there any specific reason behind that?

(・∀・) “When the talks first came up, the chain of logic was quite simple… ‘Made in Japan’ = ‘Japan’ = ‘Cherry Blossoms’ = ‘Sakura Miku’! It didn’t take long for me to come to that conclusion!”

Not to mention that she also gets the privilege of becoming the 500th Nendoroid! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

(・∀・) “The 300th Nendoroid was also Miku with Nendoroid Hatsune Miku 2.0, but everything just linked too nicely together to not release this figure as the 500th Nendoroid! Miku deserves to be in the spotlight anyway!! We’ll be sure to bring you a wonderful Spring directly from Kurayoshi city in Tottori, Japan! Look forward to her!”

1/8th Scale Levi

“Hurry up and answer. What is it you want to do?”

I’m still quite addicted to the way Levi holds his teacup that became popular awhile back. Holding the cup up by the rim like some kind of crane game let’s me pretend I’m as cool as Levi sometimes!! ★

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

The 1/8th Scale:

Levi!♪

 

From the popular anime series ‘Attack on Titan’ comes a 1/8th scale figure of the Survey Corps corporal, Levi! He has been posed gracefully gliding through the air with his vertical maneuvering equipment as his Scouting Corps cape flutters behind him.

His stand is a Titan’s head which has also been very carefully sculpted to capture the striking appearance of the Titans. This single figure captures the atmosphere of the Attack on Titan world along with Levi’s character and the imposing Titan all in one for fans to enjoy!

Ooooooooooohhhh!!! ヽ(´ω｀*)ノ

With the film version having recently hit theatres, ‘Attack on Titan’ is just as popular as ever!

From that popular series comes the third in a series of scale figures from the series, following on from Mikasa Ackerman and Eren Yeager!

Levi’s cape is blowing out in the wind behind, giving him a truly epic appearance! It gives the whole figure a lovely dynamic feeling!

Like the previous figures, his  vertical manoeuvring equipment has damaged paintwork to show the struggles he has been through!

Also just like the others, the contrast between the sharp metal objects and the soft pale skin looks amazing!! The intricate little creases on his shirt are also very nicely done!  ヽ(ﾟ◇ﾟ )ﾉ

The holder area by the side of his ribs and the detail on his belt buckle really show how much detail has been put into this figure! Both the sculpting and the paintwork have both been done with great care!

Plus just look at the detail here!

Levi is known to hold his blades backhand which has of course been faithfully preserved on the figure! Just look at those lovely thin fingers and neatly trimmed nails!! ♡

To think that such graceful hands cut down Titans in an instant…

Levi really is the best of the best!! 　

Personally I really like this angle… ♥︎

Based on the way you look at it, you could easily take this as Levi posed busy kicking… ‘someone’!! <○><○>

Plus… he looks a bit like a certain figure skater as well…!

(・∀・) “That is exactly what I thought!”

I thought you would! Chanshuu-senpai!!

(・∀・) “They’re definitely complete opposites in terms of personality, but as soon as I thought it once I just couldn’t stop  comparing them…!”

Hmm! Let’s check with the sculptor, Akatsuki and see that side of the story! Both me and Chanshuu-senpai are reminded of a certain famous figure skater… did you have anything in mind while sculpting him?

(｀・ω・) “…not really!” 

Ah! I…I see! Σ(･ω･ﾉ)ﾉ！

(｀・ω・) “But sometimes while working on figures I unconsciously start heading toward a more realistic sculpt… perhaps all his appearance in the news influenced by work…?” 

Anyway, Levi has been released by a number of different companies now, what makes this Levi special

(｀・ω・) “I tried to capture Levi in the heat of battle! That powerful presence that everyone comes to love! The addition of the Titan Head base adds even more to that effect of battle!”

The base was quite a shock to me at first! Mikasa and Eren also came with special bases – a roof and chimney respectively, so I expected something similar, but Kyojin, the planner of the figure as well as the publisher decided that Levi needed something a little different! (°Д°；≡°Д°；)

(｀・ω・) “By the way, this Titan head was modelled off the Titan that appeared in episode 9!”

The Titan that was taken down by Levi’s spinning cut!!

(｀・ω・) “That’s the one! I was actually going to give him a more comical look, but the publisher insisted on something more… dark, and realistic! This was the result!”

The somewhat transparent skin showing his veins beneath looks just like it did in the anime!! (((( ;°Д°))))

Looking from above not only gives a good look at Levi’s cape flowing around him, but also gives a distant look down at the Titan’s head!

By the way!! 

Levi’s cape can also be attached and removed whenever you like!

Without the cape you get a much closer look at his petite build!

The scarf at his neck and his jacket which are normally covered up by the cape have also been sculpted in full detail! You can see the ‘Wings of Freedom’ emblem in lovely detail on his back and arms – the manoeuvring equipment is also much more easily visible! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

His left thigh with belts gently pressing into his skin also sneaked into the photo!

If we take a look from a lower angle without the cape… ♪

You can even see up inside his jacket!!

Even these areas that you normally never have the chance to see have been carefully sculpted! Wonderful work by the sculptor, Akatsuki! ♪

Enjoy the calm and collected Levi from all sorts of angles!

I really hate bugs… my worst would have to be mosquitoes! They seem to love my blood as when Summer comes around I am always covered in bites… (꒦ິ⌑꒦ີ)

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

The 1/8th Scale…

Michelle K. Davis!

From the popular manga with an anime series under way, ‘TERRAFORMARS’, comes a 1/8th scale figure of the young sub-leader of the Mars Exploration team, Michelle K. Davis. She has been sculpted in her Officer spacesuit.

The figure shows Michelle half-transformed with mutated fingers and antenna extending from her head as she stands as confident as ever. The base itself brings out the atmosphere of the series, and the corpse of a Terraformar is also included to lay by her feet, bringing out even more of the TERRAFORMARS universe for fans to indulge in!

From the popular anime and manga series ‘TERRAFORMARS’ comes a 1/8th scale figure of the valiant and beautiful Michelle K. Davis!

The beautiful body and serious personality of the U-NASA Mars Exploration Team’s sub-leader have all been faithfully sculpted for fans to enjoy!! ♡

The figure captures Michelle midway though her transformation! 

Michelle’s power base is the paraponera, together with the camponotus saundersi powers she obtained through surgery – both species of ants, which explains the look of her hands and the antennae on her head ! <○><○>

Her serious expression captures both her confidence and her determination to destroy the Terraformars! To get revenge for her father!! 

This is how she looks from the back!

The long Anti-Mars uniform fluttering in wind has been painted with a beautiful shiny white! You can see in an instant that this is no normal set of clothes!

I personally love the area around her hips and thighs!!

Michelle has tough, powerful looking legs, but she still has lovely curves at her thighs and bottom! They look so soft and touchable with the tight material pulling on them!! The creases in the fabric all over have been sculpted in amazing detail, but even with those creases you can still make out the shape of her beautiful body beneath the fabric!!

This area is also almost certain to catch your eyes…

The tight fit of the outfit shows off the shape of her breasts beautifully!

The figure certainly doesn’t show much bare skin, but that does not mean it doesn’t have all sorts of opportunities to be sexy!

Anyway! I’m sure everyone is waiting for a better look at the rather realistic looking Terraformar at her feet!

If you’re a little squeamish, you might want to scroll over this part quite quickly!!

The last words of a Terraformar!

Most of his body has been cleanly removed, leaving his upper body and head, foaming at the mouth! ヽ(´Д`;ヽ≡/;´Д`)/

If you look close you’ll also see there is water leaking from his eyes which are unable to focus…

It’s really weird because I don’t really want to look at it, but it’ so well made that I can’t take my eyes off it!!

The Terraformar is not even attached to the figure’s base, so you can place it wherever you like!

The inside has also been sculpted!

This level of eww is quite unusual for a GSC figure!

Anyway, let’s get back to Michelle herself! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

“We’re leaving, Akari. You’re… not a good follower. You’re a good man!”

I really loved that scene!!

figFIX Conan Edogawa & figma Criminal and ‘The Perfect Insider’ Set Building!

Every Spring I always look forward to a new Detective Conan movie! I get goosebumps whenever I hear the movie’s theme song!! It’s even better that it changes slightly each time!!

The last movie featured the Tokyo Skytree, where the GSC offices are located! I got all excited when I saw the silhouette preview in the previous movie!! I can’t wait for the new issue of the manga to release on the 18th December!

Anyway, as I’m sure many of you may have guessed, today’s blog will be about this item from FREEing!

figFIX Conan Edogawa & figma Criminal!

From “Detective Conan” comes a set featuring a figFIX of Edogawa Conan as well as a figma of the ‘Criminal’!· figFIX Conan Edogawa features an articulated head, as well as optional parts that allow him to make his signature pointing pose or wristwatch tranquilizer gun pose!
· figma Criminal comes with a rifle, knife and various other dangerous weapons allowing for all sorts of poses!
· Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
· An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.

Detective Conan is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, and both the main character ‘Conan Edogawa’ as well as the popular ‘Criminal’ silhouette from the series!

The pose above captures both the ‘You’re the culprit!” and the ‘There is only one truth!” poses!

The characteristic shape of his head, his blue jacket and his shoes have all been faithfully kept in place! ♪

The way he looks from the back looks exactly like the original manga!

Conan is a part of the figFIX series, while the Criminal is a part of the figma series. The two are however sold as a set! 

However, something to note is that while normally the figFIX series is static other than an articulated head, Conan also features interchangeable parts for a could of different poses! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

Along with the pointing pose from above, you can also choose to pose him using the wristwatch tranquillizer gun!

The left and right arm parts are both completely interchangeable, so changing the pose is quick and easy!

Additionally, he also comes with standard straight arms! ♪

The arms together with the neck articulation allows for simple poses to serious looks like this!

Anyway, moving on we also have figma Criminal!! ♪

This one is a standard figma with all the normal joints for all sorts of poses, but he also comes with a multitude of weapon parts to enjoy! (σ・∀・)σ

Including the rifle above, he comes with a total of six different weapons to choose from!

I can see so much playability with these parts!! <○><○>

Personally I found the rope parts rather interesting, so here we have the Criminal holding them with an evil grin on his face!

He looks so nefarious!

Just looking at it makes me hear the Criminal’s theme from the soundtrack play through my head! Along with the evil grin above, he also comes with an angry or panicked expression!

I made this pose in the image of when Conan reveals him to be the bad guy! You can also use it with the weapons as a rather frightful shouting expression!

His toes are even separately articulated for tip-toe poses!

I’m sure he will be a load of fun to display alongside other figmas too!! ( ´ﾉД｀)

Now for a rather interesting bonus!

The other day, GSC went to help with the filming of an episode of the TV drama, ‘The Perfect Insider’ (Subete ga F ni Naru)!

Summary:
Due to Professor Kita’s suggestion, student Moe Nishinosono (Emi Takei) and Associate Professor Sohei Saikawa (Gou Ayano) head to Professor Kita’s research institute. There, various experiments have been conducted in a low temperature research room. During the night a murder takes place. Two graduate students are found dead in the low temperature research room. How did the killer enter the closed research room and how did the killer leave the room?

But how did GSC help out with the filming of a drama? In the episode that airs today as well as next week’s episode, GSC went to help out with the making of the set! Some fans may have already noticed the GSC logo in the preview from the last episode!!

Today I’m going to be showing a few photos of the set building!

Last month. Somewhere in Kantou.
(*Not actually Yokohama)

I joined the advertising team to help out with setting the stage for the episode’s events… events that take place at a ‘Modeler’s Festival’!

Various other companies also came by to help out with the set!

We brought around thirty figures which were used on the set!

 

One of the newcomers to GSC this year, Yoshii (@gsc_yoshii) put them together most efficiently!

In the time it took me to put one figure together she had done three… but slowly but surely the display came together…

Each figure was arranged by series, and carefully placed to be at a good eye-level for filming! The filming staff made a few changes on the recording day, but this is how the display looked on the day of filming! 

Ooh! This setup lets the filming take place in between the figures! 

I wasn’t there on the day of filming, but they were kind enough to share this photo with me for the blog! Thank you!!

Not to mention that Katagiri Masato’s actor Makoto Sakamoto seemed to love our products!!

He looks so cute looking over all the figures…!!
Perhaps it’s just me, but that short cut, black hairstyle looks adorable to me!!

I’ll be sure to keep these photos safe in my ‘Precious Stuff’ folder!

Anyways, to get back on track! While I was helping set up I decided I need to sneak around and take some photos! _(°ω°｣ ∠)_三_(°ω°｣ ∠)_三

However! I can’t show those as the episode hasn’t aired yet!

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Senbonzakura Ver.

Can you believe that we are ready in the last month of the year?!

I was in in shock at that revelation for awhile… but today I’m looking at a product that let me stop worrying about such trivial things! ♪

Today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Hatsune Miku: Senbonzakura Ver.♡

A Nendoroid of Hatsune Miku based on the outfit she wore in the song ‘Senbonzakura’ by Kurousa-P! She comes with a gentle smiling face as well as an energetic winking expression for various different different poses.

In addition, the cherry blossom streamer and cherry blossom themed bicycle seen in the original music video are also both included! Using the included special included parts that attach to her feet, you can display her without the need of the support arm in her classic ‘shooting’ pose while looking over her shoulder!

Oooooooooooohhhhhh!!! ヾ(´∀｀*)ﾉ

From the popular Vocaloid song ‘Senbonzakura’ comes a special version of Miku-san wearing a school cap, miniskirt and lovely long sleeves – an outfit that blends east and western styles in a mysteriously beautiful way!!  ♡♡♡

I really love the Senbonzakura outfits, so I’m very glad to see a Nendoroid version of this Miku be made as well! I’m also really happy to see that all her accessories and ornaments have been very carefully sculpted on the Nendoroid version! (*´Д｀)=з

This ‘sakura oonusa’ or ‘cherry blossom streamer’ was something very memorable from the music video, so of course it is included as well! You can make out each of the blossoms, and a slight gradient is applied from the top down to the bottom for an even more beautiful appearance! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

Plus just look at her adorable shoes!!

They are an interesting blend of high-laced boots and geta sandals, which have been faithfully shrunk into Nendoroid size!! This is the kind of interesting design that really brings out the Senbonzakura universe! ♪

As I’m sure most of you have noticed there is another delicious little treat… you can see her stomach sticking out slightly!!

The school cap with a cherry blossom crest can be removed! ♪

Removing the hat gives her a more feminine appearance!

The overall coloring of the Nendoroid also keeps that slightly retro, darker palette of colors from the music video! It gives her quite a different appearance when compared to most Nendos!

 (・∀・) “She comes with another important item from the music video too!” 

We’re joined by the figure’s planner, Hamako!!

 (・∀・) “Which would be… this!!!“

Oooooooooooooooohhhhh!!! (´□｀｡)

It has jumped right out of the music video into the Nendoroid universe!!

(・∀・) “Yep! The rather antiquated bicycle with a cherry blossom theme!”

Plus Miku can actually be posed riding it!!!

It still requires the Nendoroid stand to be attached on her back while the bicycle supports her weight… but it looks lovely nonetheless!! φ(．． )

(・∀・) “There aren’t specific sitting parts for the pose, but she does come with special arms and hands to display her holding the handle bars! These parts also make the most nice and stable! There is also a little attachment part to hold the bike up by itself, so you can just as easily pose the bike beside her instead!” 

But… but Hamako-san! I can’t focus on the bike at all!!!
Not when Miku is winking at me with such a cute expression!! 

(・∀・) “Isn’t she adorable! This lovely winking expression is also included!”

The previous smiling face had a very lovely gentle feeling to it which I loved… but this winking face has a whole different kind of charm! ☆

I- I don’t know which expression to choose!! (´□｀｡)

(・∀・) “Well.. maybe knowing you can make this pose from the song will help you make up your mind!!”

Whaaat!! I can make this pose even in Nendoroid form!!! (*´Д｀)

It’s so cute!! She’s just so cute!!!

As you can see her twintails are fitted with Nendoroid joints allowing for even more of a dynamic appearance as she spins around!  ♪

(・∀・) “By the way, she comes with special leg parts to display her in this pose!”

A left leg part with a special little attachment part (the pink area in this photo) isincluded. Together they make the purple section which will be included as a single part on the final product! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

(・∀・) “This pose let’s you see the ‘Ichi’ or ‘One’ written on her back very nicely!”

Hmm! This ‘ichi’ is written in hiragana (いち) instead of the usual kanji! (壱)

(・∀・) “That’s right! While the actual version in the PV is written in kanji, the LINE stamps and version in the 3DS game ‘Hatsune Miku Project Diva 2’ all make use of hiragana… we thought it suited the cuter Nendoroid design better!”

It does somehow seem a little cuter to have the chibi-sized versions written in the rounded hiragana instead! ♥︎

Nendoroid Kyoko Toshino

My favorite flavors of Sakuma drops are mint and chocolate! I always love the sound the candy makes coming out of the tin container! ♪

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a closer look at…

Nendoroid Kyoko Toshino♡

From the anime ‘YuruYuri Nachuyachumi!’ comes a Nendoroid of the flamboyant member of the Amusement Club who always sets the pace of the group – Kyoko Toshino! She comes with three expressions including her standard smiling expression, an expression with sparking eyes for her encounters with rum-raisin ice-cream as well as the American comic-based expression that even appeared in the original manga!

Optional parts include parts that allow you to pose her enjoying her rum-raisin ice cream as well as parts which display her taking the poses of ‘Magical Girl Mirakurun’! She even comes with long-sleeve parts to recreate her Winter uniform! Be sure to display her with the previously released Nendoroid Akari Akaza!

Ooooooohhhh!! ヽ(ｏ´∀｀ｏ)ﾉ 

Apologies for the long wait since Summer WonFes! 

She was seen the other day at the Miyazawa Model Exhibition, the beautiful blond haired Kyoko Toshino in her Morino Summer uniform! ★

Her smile conveys her never-ending cheeriness and high tension perfectly!

In her right hand she is holding Magical Girl Mirakurun’s magical wand too! The vent left and right legs even allow for a cute jumping pose to display her pretending to be the magical girl herself! Another very important item included with her is her dessert of choice – Rum & Raisin ice cream! 

To show just how much she enjoys it, she also comes with an expression with sparking eyes! ☆

Note the sparkles as well as the kitty teeth! ♥︎

The ice cream can even be removed from her hands….

Just look how tiny it is!! The detail is amazing!!  <○><○>

This is a one yen coin, which is only 20mm in diameter!

Even the raisins inside the ice-cream tub have added on! I love details like this!!

(・∀・) “An expression that was received with quite some interesting reactions even inside the company!”

(・∀・) “Just the reaction I was expecting! This is the expression from the 11th volume of the manga – where Kyoko-chan was drawn in American comic style!! At first I was going with all three expressions to be rather cute, but the publisher specifically requested this expression to be added!!” 

This is… definitely a first in the history of Nendoroids!

(・∀・) “It’s also an expression that will remain in fan’s memories for some time to come!”

If you take a cute pose with this expression the results are quite… scary!!

(・∀・) “Such a cute uniform with such a serious, good-looking expression!”

Ah, speaking of her uniform! Nendoroid Akari Akaza was in her Winter uniform, while I notice Kyoko is in her Summer uniform!

(・∀・) “That’s right! But Kyoko chan’s sleeves have been made so that they can attach to Akari-chan, allowing you to pose Akari in her summer uniform!”

Nendoroid Suzuya & Nendoroid Kumano

I’d pick a croquette over a sandwich on most days!
I like the more moist feeling that comes with them!

But anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…

Nendoroid Suzuya &

Nendoroid Kumano!

The SuzuKuma pair are being announced simultaneously!

The matching blazers of the Mogami-class cruisers just had to be released together!

I’ll be taking a closer look at both of them today, starting with…

Nendoroid Suzuya!

“Suzuya is on the job! Just leave it to me!”

From the popular browser game ‘Kantai Collection -KanColle-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the third Mogami-class heavy cruiser, Suzuya!

Suzuya comes with cannon parts to fire upon her enemies, as well as a Type 0 Recon Seaplane to display her as an aircraft cruiser, helping to ensure she won’t lose to Kumano! A Destroyer I-Class is included for her to fight against, along with parts to display her being shot at! Special parts for holding hands with Kumano are also included.

Suzuya has a bit of a high-school student feel to her, which comes out in the posing of those hand parts! The expression and pose bring out her character very nicely! (‘-‘*)(,_,*)(‘-‘*)(,_,*)

The above expression is her standard expression, but she also comes with this gentle smiling face!

Suzuya’s bright and confident smile! Her knee-high socks made in the image of the deck of a ship are also faithfully included! ♪

(・∀・) “Be sure to take a nice close look if you pick her up!”

We’re joined by the Nendoroid’s planner, Admiral Kyojin!!

(・∀・) “If you’re wondering what she is holding, that would be an aircraft cruiser. The Type 0 Recon Seaplane by her side is also included to pose taking off from the cruiser parts or flying around her!”

The little details on the hand attachment are really amazing! ε=(｡・д・｡)

This is actually the first time that an enemy ship has been included with a KanColle Nendoroid! He looks rather cute and comical in Nendoroid size! ♥︎

(・∀・) “The expression seen above is included as Suzuya’s more comical expression – it’s made in the image of her ‘Ugh! Yucky!’ line from the game!”

(・∀・) “She also comes with battle effect parts, but for a little change in pace that matches with the above expression rather well, she comes with parts that show her getting shot at instead of shooting!”

The effect parts attach like a bracelet onto the part, so you can attach it onto any arm parts! φ(．． )

Moving on… 

Nendoroid Kumano

“Good day to you! I am the heavy cruiser, Kumano!”

From the popular browser game ‘Kantai Collection -KanColle-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the fourth Mogami-class heavy cruiser, Kumano!

Kumano comes with various turret parts to let her sink her enemies with ease and grace, as well as a Type 0 Recon Seaplane to display her as an aircraft cruiser! She also comes with a sandwich – her choice meal for lunch! A dresser with a mirror is included to display by her side to show her high-class taste and ladylike charm! Special alternate hair parts to pose her holding hands with Nendoroid Suzuya are also included!

The pose above suits her so perfectly! ♥︎

Her lovely chestnut brown hair is tied up in a ponytail at a very high point which is fitted with a Nendoroid joint to match your posing! ♪

Let’s take a look at some unique points here!

1.  The turret’s shoulder strap is made from leather!

The bendability helps make sure that the strap doesn’t get in the way of poses, but still looks nice! Nendoroid I-401 also featured this! ♪

2. The main body and ship parts are connected with two Nendoroid joints!

This means you have full control in all directions of where the ship parts are, which helps prevent the hair and ship parts colliding and getting in the way of poses!  (Nendoroid Suzuya also makes use of this!)

Thanks to everyone’s love for the series we’ve made a load of KanColle Nendoroids now, and through their releases we’ve noticed that there are often problems with the ship parts colliding with the hair parts and preventing certain poses – thus we decided to create a way to prevent these problems from occuring, which was this double Nendoroid joint!

Anyway, let’s move onto the optional parts! (σ・∀・)σ

Kumano also comes with the aircraft cruiser parts and plane!

Her expression combined with these parts come together for a very confident and reassuring pose that suits Kumano nicely! ★

The Type 0 Recon Seaplane flying by her side helps bring out the atmosphere even more! (｀・ω・´)ゞ

But Kumano isn’t all about combat! A fancy heavy cruiser built in Kobe needs something like this too!

A dresser with a mirror!! (*´Д｀)♥︎

The pink curtains on the side give it a cute and elegant look! ♪

(・∀・) “She also comes with this expression, perfect to pose with the dresser!”

/ “Oh my! It’s already 3AM! How can this be!” ＼

Hmm? So… how are they doing it then…?

(・∀・) “We came up with a plan! Kumano comes with special hair parts that allow for them to be posed as close as all Admirals know they should be!!!“

These two parts help close the distance between the two!!  <○><○>

The interlocked hand parts are included with Nendoroid Suzuya, while the alternate hair parts are included with Nendoroid Kumano! (｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

Definitely makes grabbing both of them all the more worth it!

Japan’s First Red Bull Air Race – Chiba 2015

I’ve never enjoyed flying as the air pressure change in the plane always gets to me… I have found that special earplugs do help out a lot though!

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at something rather different that was announced yesterday!

The Red Bull Air Race Chiba 2015!

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship’s 2015 Championship 2nd Race will be taking place in Japan for the first time!

Red Bull Air Race Chiba 2015Dates:
16th May 2015 (Preliminary)
17th May 2015 (Official Race)
Should the 17th have poor weather, the race will be delayed to the 18th May.

Location:
Kaihim Makuhari Park (Chiba)

Details:
FAI (The World Air Sports Federation) accredited aeroplane championship race. This will be the second of eight races around the world. The races will be done by 14 top race pilots.

The important thing to note is that this is Japan’s first time ever hosting a race! It has been held at various famous cities around the world, and now if finally coming to Japan as well!

Good Smile Company is working together with Chiba City and the Race Committee to make the first ever race in Japan one to remember! Good Smile Company’s CEO Aki has been named the executive producer for the tournament! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

My name is Aki Takanori, the CEO of Good Smile Company. I am proud to announce that I have been given the title of executive producer for the Red Bull Air Race Japan tournament, giving me the privilege of taking part in the first ever Air Race to be held in Japan. While Good Smile Company’s main business has always been making anime, manga and game figures, we have also been taking part in the SUPER GT race as the “Hatsune Miku GT Project”, involving us all sorts of management on the car racing scene as well. Our team made was crowned the champion of the GT300 series this year.

Along with motor-racing, I’ve always been very interested in the extreme sports run by Red Bull and have been keeping an eye on them with great enthusiasm. When I heard the Air Race was looking for possible sites for the tournament, I thought that Japan would be a wonderful place to hold one of the races, and glad that we could make it happen. I will be doing everything in my power to make Japan’s first ever Air Race tournament a race to remember!

GSC will be actively taking part in the running of the event!

We want to make it an event that fans all around the world can enjoy! But before I continue this speech, perhaps I should first address… what exactly is an Air Race? (°д°；)！

What is the Red Bull Air Race?

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is an official World Championship, accredited by the FAI – The World Air Sports Federation.

Since it was officially launched, the Red Bull Air Race World Championship has become globally renowned as the fastest and most exhilarating motor-sport on the planet.

Devised by the Red Bull sports think-tank, the initial goal was to create the most advanced aerial challenge the world had ever seen; what has evolved into the Red Bull Air Race we know today has far exceeded any original expectations.

It is a visual spectacle unlike any other. A combination of high speed, low altitude and extreme manoeuvrability make it only accessible to the world’s most exceptional pilots.

12 pilots are competing in the Master Class category in eight races across the globe for the title of 2014 Red Bull Air Race World Champion. The objective is to navigate an aerial racetrack featuring air-filled pylons in the fastest possible time, incurring as few penalties as possible. Pilots can win World Championship points at each race and the pilot with the most points after the last race of the season becomes the Red Bull Air Race World Champion.

To summarize! The Red Bull Air Race the world’s fastest three dimensional aeroplane race! A race where you have to think both horizontally and vertically! (´∀｀)

I had never heard anything about it before, but after watching some videos from previous contests I realized how thrilling it can be!! It’s really like watching a movie more than watching a sport! Check the official site below for some videos! ヽ(*・ω・)ノ

Yesterday there  was a press conference that announced all of this, and I had the privilege of sneaking in for some photos myself! (σ・∀・)σ

In front of the conference hall was the Red Bull Car!! ∑(ﾟДﾟ)

Everyone had lovely introductions and passed on their opinions and thoughts regarding the upcoming competition. Things such as safety and why Chiba was chosen were also discussed!

There was also a lovely lady handing out Red Bull to everyone!

I also got a two-shot of Muroya-san and Aki-san together! ★

Good Smile is set and ready to challenge all new things!!

Ranko Kanzaki: Anniversary Princess Ver. ~Mad Banquet~

Ranko Kanzaki: Anniversary Princess Ver. ~Mad Banquet~!♥︎

The popular IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls social game has reached its third anniversary and also has an anime series coming in January 2015. From that game comes a 1/8th scale figure of Ranko Kanzaki wearing her ‘Anniversary Princess’ outfit from the game’s 2nd anniversary.

The figure captures the enjoyment Ranko feels while on the live stage with a beautiful smile and dynamic pose. Her outfit has also been sculpted in great detail, down to the intricate roses that adorn various parts of it. Her rather unique mike stand has also been faithfully included. The Mad Banquet version also includes a much larger base in the image of an altar! Be sure to add this brazen Ranko to your collection!

Ooooooooohhhhh!!! (´□｀｡)

The beautiful Ranko Kanzaki has been sculpted into a very bold and detailed figure by Phat! Company!!

It is an item that is filled with love from its planner, Takamatsu-shi (@Phat_stuff)! Apparently he wrote up the draft for the figure’s design almost the same day as the illustration was revealed! That’s what I call dedication! ♡

The figure as a whole creates an amazing atmosphere, but the details of each of the smaller parts of the figure are is where she really shines!  ☆

Just look at the sculpting on those roses!!

Each and every petal on the roses has clearly been attentively worked on to create an amazing appearance! It adds a lovely sense of reality to the outfit 
(・∀・) “Don’t forget about the feathery part behind her skirt!”

We’re joined by the figure’s planner, Takamatsu-shi (Phat)!

(・∀・) “The feathers on the back of her skirt have been made translucent, making the stylish skirt have a slightly lighter appearance!” 

I can just picture her on stage with the lights flashing about! The translucent, shiny look definitely helps out with that image! (σ・∀・)σ

… the crimson light is too bright!!

I can’t see Ranko… (/ω＼)

 (・∀・) “The large effect behind her wasn’t completely drawn in the original illustration, so part of it was made though out own original interpretation!” 

The effect is unbelievably large! Much larger than you’d normally expect on a scale figure! It must have been quite the challenge to include!

(・∀・) “It was… but this was a product that we really wanted to put everything we had into! We couldn’t completely bring out Ranko’s charm if we didn’t pull out all the stops! I wanted to do everything I could to make her special – not only as the planner, but as a fellow producer too!”

It shows too! I can see that love was poured into this figure!

(・∀・) “Ranko’s goth-loli fashion is in full force here! The outfit is filled with frills, ribbons and roses darted all over!” 

Her long stockings covered with rose prints are also delicious! The gather of her outfit around her breast area also really brings out the texture of the fabric really nicely! ♪

The frills of her sleeves are also so very thin! So thin and yet they still look so soft and frilly! (((゜д゜;)))

Even though my mind knows that they are made from a hard material, my eyes can only interpret those frills as fluttering in the wind as a soft fabric! I could spend all day looking at each of these littler frills individually and being impressed with each one! 

But moving away from the lovely soft looking outfit, the sharp and solid looking fence around her back gives some nice contrast! ♪

Compare the sharp fence to the soft looking thighs behind them!

But… what is that mound at the bottom of the mike stand…?!

(・∀・) “You might not be able to see it from the front, but the mike stand is nicely supported by a pile of beautiful purple roses!”

Even though it’s normally hidden from sight… so much extra effort has gone into it!! (*´Д｀)=з

(・∀・) “The mike stand is far too epic to just end without being rested on something equally awesome!”

Every little part has had so much careful thought put into it! She is fun to look at from any angle!! (●´ω｀●)ゞ

(・∀・) “Exactly!! You can remove the fence around her for a closer look if you prefer!”

Ooh! The feathers look amazing from this angle!!

The large ribbon on the back also has a lovely pink rose on the knot! っ(｡･ω･)ﾉﾞ

(・∀・) “This area was also never seen on the original illustration, but as there were so many roses on the front we decided she needed at least one on the back too!”

A great decision! d(●´ω｀●)

The outfit makes use of a rather dark palette, which makes the rose stand out all the more beautifully! Such a lovely combination of colors! ♡

Another thing to take note of is just how large Ranko is compared to other 1/8th scale figures!

I decided to measure the diameter of her stand… it comes to 21cm!

(・∀・) “By the way! The other figure in this photo, Mika Jougasaki: Charisma Girl Ver., will be shipping out next month in December!”

Mika herself packs quite a large volume, but even she is slightly smaller when compared to Ranko!!  <○><○>

Anyway, I’ve taken a look at Ranko from all sorts of angles now… but now I want to focus on the areas I like the best!

This is my favourite angle!

A good look at her lovely armpits and all the creases along her outfit! 

But that’s not all by any means… there is just so much to look at at once!! My eyes don’t know where to look first!!

Be sure to take a long, hard look when she arrives in your collection! (｀・ω・´)

(・∀・) “We really put everything we had into this figure! It’s a bit of a challenging item for Phat! company, but we will be seeing it through to the very end in the best quality possible for all the producers out there waiting for her!”
