Today we’ll be running this corner once again!
Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner!

(゚д゚) Letters asking about changes to products are quite hard for me to reply to… but I do pass the info onto the design team!

(゚д゚) If there is a problem with your product, please email the Good Smile Support Team at: support@goodsmile.jp

(゚д゚) If you want to let me know something without me talking about it on the blog, just let me know in the mail and I’ll be happy to keep it quiet!

Please note that whatever I write in this section isn’t official – it’s just my thoughts on matters! If you’re only looking for official news, you might want to dodge this post!

Alright, let’s get started!! (・∀・)ノ

Hello Mikatan!
I recently picked up Cirno, so I decided to send you a picture!

– Proud Young Tiger

001

“I’m the strongest, got it?!”

Is what I imagine her saying in this picture! It’s a lovely shot! The lighting is also really great! It really gives an icy feeling to the picture! I know this was your first mail, but I hope for more in the future!

To celebrate the start of Fate/Zero,  I decided to take a picture of Saber with this bridge in the background! It isn’t night, but I think the atmosphere still comes across nicely! I’m looking forward to the Fate/Zero version of figma Saber!

– Tanupon

002

Fate fans will know this bridge all to well!

figma Saber will be going on resale in December, so if you don’t have her yet, don’t miss out! I wanna go on an anime pilgrimage as well!  Hmm….

Hi there! I love reading the blog everyday!
Time really flies… I started reading your blog back in my third year of middle school, yet now I’m a first year university student. I still check Mikatan blog everyday on the train ride home!

The other day I had a day off university, so I decided to go to Kyoto with Akashi-san! I know The Tatami Galaxy finished airing over a year ago now, but I’m still a big fan of Morimi-sensei’s work, so I had to go on a little anime pilgrimage with Akashi-san

The picture is taken at Yoshida temple which is right near to Kyoto University. It was school festival season, but there was nobody over on this side, so I could take my photos in peace!

– Anonymous

003

Yet another pilgrimage photo!

I’m also a big fan of The Tatami Galaxy! This photo really makes it really feels like Akashi-san has jumped out of the anime and into real life! The light shining through the trees in the background also creates a lovely atmosphere!

I love reading your blog every day!
Puchitto Rock Shooter-chan is cute, but I wanted to let my favorite Nendoroid cheer as well, so I let Azunyan try on the cheerleader outfit! It looked so cute!! (*´ω`*)

– Yudakazu

004

Azunyaaaaan!!

The ribbons on her twin tails looks so adorable!!! If I had a cute Azunyan like this on my desk to cheer me on, I know I’d be able to get through the toughest of days!!

Hello!
I’m from Iwaki city in Fukushima prefecture. There were some Osmanthus trees flowering in my garden, and so I decided to do something with them and Gumako, seen the colors matched…

What we need at the moment, is the simple every day life right in front of us. Crying, laughing, and looking back at the good times with a smile.I just want everyone to be smiling together under this same beautiful sky. For that to happen, we all have to play a little part, and those little parts will all add up!

– Anonymous

005

Lovely complementing colors! So cute!

The orange of the Osmanthus and Gumako’s orange really match each other! She’s like a little Osmanthus fairy! :P

I’m so happy to see some mail from someone in Fukushima prefecture. I wanted to write something to cheer you on, but I just kept erasing it over and over again, unable to put my feelings into words. Just know that you have many fans that share your hobby on the other side of the monitor, and I’m sure one day everyone will be smiling together – the Cheerful JAPAN! project should be able to help the process along! :)

A picture taken for the Autumn months~
I call it, “After the Rain”.

– Leonov

006

Beautiful, as always!!

The clear sky after the rain looks beautiful! I love the way that your photos always capture the beauty of the weather so perfectly!
I wish I could take pictures like this… :P

The other day I received my giant Good Smile Seijin Plushie~ I expected it to be big, but it was even bigger than I expected!
I gave it a hug and it was so soft and fluffy! I couldn’t be happier with the purchase! ^^ Gumako is also enjoying using his long arms as a slide!

– Mirumousu

007

Thanks for the wonderful comments!

And thanks for buying the Giant Good Smile Seijin Plushie! It was actually the Cheerful product with the smallest number made, so I’m glad to see those who bought it are enjoying it! I also ordered one!! :P I’m also glad to see Gumako is having so much fun with the plushie as well!

Happy Birthday Mikatan!
To commemorate Miku’s 4th anniversary, I made a special Nendoroid Petite stage out of Lego!

I was really exited after watching the live event at Sapporo, that I build this in no time at all! Miku is such an angel I can’t wait for the 2012 Snow Miku!!

  – TV Bricksmith

008

Eeh?! The Miku at the back is also Lego?!

The stage really is great, but that Miku is also amazing! xD
Snow Miku is currently in production! I’m sure she’ll come out super cute, so look forward to it! I hope you’ll like her when she is announced…. ^^;

I love reading your blog whenever possible. The other day I got my recently released Nendoroid Minami Kawashima from Moshidora, and went out to the area in which it was set to take some photos. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, but I still think it captures the atmosphere nicely. Maybe I’ll try again sometime when the weather is better.

– Okabin

009

Oooh! It looks just like the front cover!

There really were lots of anime pilgrimage photos this time around! It’s so great to see so many! It really shows people’s love for the figures and the series! Just be careful when taking photos outdoors – they can get damaged much more easily outdoors!

My figma Touma arrived today, so I decided to take some photos! This is my second male figma after Ren, so I was quite exited! I had to display him with Misaka and the her little sisters! Here is a quick shot of the three of them!

I think my Kuroneko will arrive next month… I can’t wait for her, as well as the figma Index next year in February!

  – Chisato

010

“So unlucky!!”

The Misaka little sister peeking out from behind him is great! It’s nice to see more male characters in the figma line-up now! The quality and posability of figma figures really is wonderful!

On the 9th October I went on an anime pilgrimage to Yuwaku hot springs with my homemade Hanasaku Iroha Nendoroids. The lanterns of the Bonbori Festival are in the background of the photo! I hope you enjoy!

  – kn1

011

All four homemade Nendoroids!

They really look well made as well! Incredible! When you can make them so well yourself, it almost makes me think you won’t need the real ones! But the GSC Nendoroid of Ohana-chan is wearing her inn uniform, so I hope you’ll display her with your homemade ones!

Of all the seasonal events, I think my best is Halloween! (人´∀`).☆.。.:*・゜
Here we have a photo of Rin trying to get some Halloween candy (ice cream…) from KAITO! :P

There might be some cute little demons coming for you this Halloween, don’t forget to ready some candy!

  – Suzushiro

012

The blushing KAITO is so cute!!

It’s wonderful! The expression comes from Nendoroid Sanae, correct? It really suits KAITO! I really wonder if he’ll be willing to give away that last ice cream though….

This year’s autumn leaves have lasted a really long time thanks to the warm days! I haven’t taken photos outdoors in ages, and so it didn’t come out too well… particularly seen there were so many people around so taking this photo wasn’t easy! :P

  – Al

013

Shooter-chan surrounded by nature!

It really is a beautiful background! The seasons here in Japan are so very distinct, so it’s great to have photos that represent them so nicely like this! I really recommend that everyone takes a figure with them when going out traveling – taking a photo with them like this really looks wonderful!

I love reading your blog!
I went out to take a look at some of the winter cherry blossoms with Kudo, so I decided to send a picture of the outing! It’s getting much cooler now, so be sure to take care not to catch a cold!

– babystar

014

Winter cherry blossoms! how beautiful!

I never see those where I stay! They’re really pretty! We’ve got some photos of autumn leaves and another of cherry blossoms! It’s hard to imagine all these photos come from the same time frame! It’s really moving into the heart of winter now, and it’s freezing outside – but looking at pictures like this should warm you up nicely!

Hi, Mikatan!
My name is Kent, from Toronto Canada.
Long time reader of your blog and first time writer.
I’ve always enjoyed your photos and your imagination. ^o^

My “Fate/Kaleid liner プリズマ☆イリヤ” Puchi just arrived last night.
I’ve conceived this crazy idea ever since I saw her on display at the Wonderful Festival Winter 2011 so I thought I share with you. ^o^
You’d have to excuse my terrible photography skills… I didn’t have enough light in the room and I was using a compact Sony WX-7. : (

Thanks again for always sharing such wonderful pictures on your blog!

– Kent

015

A message from Canada!

I’m so happy to see messages from all over the world! It’s so wonderful to know that even if we’re on the other side of the world, we are all connected by our love of figures!! I’m getting much more mail from overseas now, and I couldn’t be happier about it!! Your photography skills aren’t terrible at all! Even without enough light they’ve come out looking great, and super cute!

This is quite an old photo, from the day of WonFes.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get to the event myself,  so I was at home, watching as analogue TV came to an end in Japan, as well as watching the Nico Live of the event. I watched the whole Live WonHobby from morning to late evening, it was great – thanks!

  – mopunari

016

The end of analogue TV!

We were all busy at WonFes, so I had no idea how they were going to show the final bits of analogue TV! I’m glad I got to see from your photos!
Thanks for watching the live show! Now that I think back on it, I wonder if I’ll ever be in Tokyo Tower again that late at night! ^^;

After reading your blog on the 20th, I remembered what made me get into figures as well. Just like you, I was amazed at how the 2D world came to life in the 3D world through figures. It’s now been over ten years since I started collecting figures, and I’ve got a load from all over – my precious treasures. They’re always there for me when times are tough!

In particular, I’ve fallen in love with GSC’s Nendoroid series, great quality at great prices!

My parents often ask me why I collect figures, but I don’t need to answer that with anything more than that they are my precious treasures, and I don’t intend to stop collecting anytime soon! I’m looking forward to many more figures from GSC in the future!

  – Yoshiyoshi

After reading your blog titled ‘What is it That Makes Figures so Amazing?’, I decided to mail you about my very own reason for starting to collect figures – and that would be this very blog! Mikatan Blog! I started reading Mikatan blog after becoming interested in Vocaloid, which got me to meet all sorts of great people as well. I’m really grateful to Vocaloid for that! My personal favorite figure at the moment is figma Rin-chan!

I’ll be reading more and more of your blog to find out about and grab more and more lovely figures! I can’t wait for your next update! (@・ω・@)

  – Akane

Figures really are an incredible work of art!!! They’re so finely detailed and well made, and no matter which angle you choose to look at them from, you can’t help admit that they are works of art!! I mean, you get people who see panties on a figure and think badly of them, and yet art textbooks are filled with naked paintings! It’s unfair! :P

I just need to look at some figures everyday to help me get through the day. They’re so wonderful!

I really appreciate the work that all the people put into creating these works of art. I even wish I could become one of them! If only…

I absolutely love Mikatan Blog! I’ll be looking forward to all your posts in the future!

  – Mon (๑╹◡╹๑)

My favorite figures are those from the Bakemonogatari series! Particularly Hitagi Senjougahara! (・∀・)ノ
The figure really captures the feeling of the anime wonderfully – she is so beautiful! It’s great to see your favorite characters sculpted into such perfect figures! I really agree with your thoughts that figures are works of art! No matter who looks at a something beautiful – it’s always going to be beautiful!!

Ever since I was young, I always enjoyed fine art such as sculptures and what not, and then two or three years ago when I became interested in anime, that interest transferred to the figure world. I hope one day I’ll be able to be called a sculptor myself!

  – Enu

I received lots of mail related to the blog post What is it That Makes Figures so Amazing? from the 20th October.

I really enjoyed reading through everyones mail, thanks for the great response! It’s hard to put my feelings into words, but let me just put it like this – I’ll repay you by making sure GSC brings out more and more wonderful works of art! In the hopes that we can get even one more figure fan to join us!

That brings this Kuroyagi-san’s Letter Corner to an end!

Thanks to everyone who sent in mail!!
I read through every single on of them!

As always, I’m always looking for more mail from readers!
