Today I’ll be taking a look at…
ACT MODE Mio & Type15 Ver2
Mio: MSK / Type15 Ver2：Toyhouse
The first ACT MODE product is Mio and the shark-shaped sacred beast Type15 Ver2 from POCO’s original work “NAVY FIELD 152”! The fully-painted complete action figure Mio includes Type15 Ver2’s Chainsaw Mode form as well as her high efficiency hoe she uses for farming as optional parts, allowing you to display her right out of the box! The sacred beast Type15 Ver2 is included as a simple plastic model kit, and can also be displayed in High Mobility Mode using interchangeable parts.。

What is ACT MODE?
ACTION FIGURE ＋ MODEROID = ACT MODE
ACT MODE is a new series that combines Good Smile Company’s action figures and plastic models into one product, featuring both the easy displayability of action figures and the affordability of plastic models in one set.
So, this product contains both a complete action figure AND a plastic model kit!
Mio is a complete action figure and features three interchangeable face plates! Her standard face was shown above, here is her smiling face!
And here is her more determined expression!
▲Face plates are easily interchanged by separating the front and back hair parts and replacing the face plate!
Type15 Ver2’s Chainsaw Mode form is also included as an optional part for the action figure.
In “NAVY FIELD 152”, Mio is quite adept at farming, so her high-efficiency hoe is included as an optional part as well!
Since the above optional parts are completely assembled, they can be used right out of the box!
As for the plastic model part of the product, the sacred beast Type15 Ver2 can be transformed using interchangeable parts!

■How did this product start?
It started with POCO’s illustration!
When I saw it, I really wanted to make her and her shark into a figure!
At the time I saw it last year, the Girl + Mecha style of product was becoming popular, so I thought it would be a perfect product for Good Smile to make.
■What is ACT MODE?
While we wanted to make products in that Girl + Mecha style, we also wanted to keep the cost down.
In order to get products of both a character and mecha to as many fans as possible, we wanted to keep the price below 10,000 yen for the set.
So in the end we settled on a system where the character is included as a complete action figure while the mecha is included as a plastic model.
By keeping a part of the product as a plastic model, we were able to keep costs down while being able to include multiple optional parts for the complete action figure part of the product.
It’s a perfect product for people who love figures but have never bought a plastic model before, and serves as a great entry point to building them.
More products are planned to join the ACT MODE series soon, so stay tuned!
