I’ve always been more of an aquarium person that a zoo person. I’m not really an animal person at all though…<\/p>\n

Even so,\u00a0I’m perfectly happy to have something like this by my side! Today I’m going to be taking a look at…<\/p>\n

ZOIDS IRON KONG<\/a>!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Iron Kong is a Gorilla-type ZOID, one of the rare ZOIDS developed in the image of wild species. It is well equipped for leading the charge into battle with its superior hand-to-hand combat, high-speed and manoeuvrability. The three spinning saws equipped on its arms allow it to move through almost any terrain, allowing it to cut a path through the Helic Republic for friendly soldiers.<\/p>\n

threezero has sculpted this Iron Kong based on the designs found in the publication ‘ZOIDS concept art’. They have kept all the finest details, but shrunk the design down to 1\/72nd scale, which makes the model stand 26cm in height. The weathered paintwork gives the figure a truly metallic texture, making it look incredibly realistic.<\/p>\n

The figure also boasts over 50 points of articulation, including his mouth, arms, the spinning saws, his fingers and parts of the backpack. Two pilots are included and can ride inside the cockpit, and the cockpit and eyes also feature a light-up effect.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

threezero’s newest figure certainly keeps to their style with a powerful, epic looking model with loads of posability!<\/span><\/p>\n

I still remember the days when all the boys were addicted to ZOIDS! I’m sure they must be having a nostalgia attack seeing the epic Zenebas Empire ZOID in such amazing detail! The design itself comes from the publication called ‘ ZOIDS concept art! \u2605<\/p>\n

Let’s see what it looks like from the back!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The six\u00a0cylinder parts you see here can even spin around! (\u03c3\u30fb\u2200\u30fb)\u03c3<\/span><\/p>\n

threezero’s products move around in so many different ways, I’m always amazed when I get my hands on them! There is so much fun to be had!\u00a0\u2606<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Just like the previously released ZOIDS SHIELD LIGER<\/a>, <\/b>the sculpting and paintwork really make it seem to be made from metal, while the damaged paintwork gives a truly convincing worn down\u00a0effect!\u00a0<\/span>\u30fd(*\u30fb\u03c9\u30fb)\u4eba(\u30fb\u03c9\u30fb*)\u30ce<\/p>\n

Each of the saws placed on his arms can also be spun around!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I can just picture the ZOID tearing through anything that gets in its way!\u00a0<\/span>
\nAs you may have noticed, the mouth can also be opened and closed! (*\u00b4\u0414\uff40)=\u0437<\/p>\n

Not only that, but the head is also fitted on a joint which also allows the neck to slide\u00a0back and forth!\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

You can match\u00a0the head to\u00a0all sorts of poses! \u2665\ufe0e<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The model is approximately 260mm in height, 260mm in width and 320mm in length. It is a 1\/72nd scale.<\/p>\n

Compare size with a 1\/12th scale figma…\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b>Can you imagine how big a real ZOID must be?!<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Each of the fingers are also fitted with joints which allow for poses like the above! It’s really incredible how much freedom you have to pose such a large product!\u00a0<\/span>\u266a<\/b><\/p>\n

Here\u00a0is the size compared with a Nendoroid Petite!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nendoroid Petite Mikudayo fits nicely in its palm!<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Plus as if all the previous parts about the head were not enough… the cockpit can also be opened and closed (\uff40\u30fb\u03c9\u30fb\u00b4)\u309e<\/p>\n

The sliding effect as it opens and closes is really fun too!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You can’t see that well here, but if you look close you’ll even see the inside of the cockpit has a chair in place for the pilot! \u266a<\/p>\n

It also features an LED lighting effect in the eyes!! <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

As if the sheer volume of the model wasn’t enough they still even add things like light-up effects to make him look even more amazing!<\/span><\/p>\n

The photo above definitely has a kind of primal feeling to it as well… I think he’s about to charge…!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I think my battle posing needs some work…
