Today I’m going to be taking a look at:<\/p>\n

The 1\/50th<\/sup> Scale:<\/span><\/strong>
\nFull Action Model Chamber!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/span>The very first in Good Smile Company’s new mecha figure series ‘Good Smile Arms’ is an action figure of Chamber from the popular anime series Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet! The figure is 1\/50th scale, standing an impressive 19cm in height.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The various weapons from the series are included, as well as effect parts to display him hovering in the air in flying mode. He is also a fully articulated action figure allowing for nearly any pose you can imagine!<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

\nFrom ‘Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet’ comes a figure of the mecha controlled by the main character of the series,\u00a0Ledo! He is finally ready to go up for preorders! Even the pilot support system cockpit will be fully included in the design!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span><\/span>The reason he took rather long to come out for preorders is that we have been working on a new series, of which Chamber is the first! <\/strong>The series meant that some extra\u00a0preparations\u00a0needed to be done! <\/strong>(\uff40\u30fb\u03c9\u30fb\u00b4)<\/p>\n

What is GOOD SMILE ARMS (GSA)?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>GOOD SMILE ARMS is a new articulated figure series from Good Smile Company based on the theme of ‘mecha’, with a focus on preserving the intricate, sharp designs of mecha and other robotic designs while still allowing great freedom of posing though careful articulation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All the painting skills GSC has acquired though years of working on figures will also be put to use in the series, allowing for colors and textures that suit the detailed sculpting, and bring out the unique presence of mecha designs. The series will also be a larger scale compared to most articulated mecha figures, and will feature robots from not only anime, but also from various games and other media. We hope you’ll look forward to the upcoming line-up!<\/span><\/span>

Good Smile has never been very involved in the mechanical side of figures, but all that is about to change!<\/p>\n

We’re taking a big step into the world of mecha figures!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

But anyway, let’s get into actually taking a look at Chamber! <\/span>

Whilst Chamber is a 1\/50th scale figure, he still stand an impressive 19cm in height!<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Here is a comparison shot with my iPhone5 which should give you an idea for the size! (He is actually posed leaning over a bit here, so he is not at his tallest point!)<\/span><\/span>

Chamber has a very streamlined, rounded design which is very different to most mecha – even so, the design has been very faithfully converted into figure form! <\/span>
\n\"\"<\/a>The ‘Full Action’ name isn’t just for show either! Chamber features…<\/strong><\/p>\n

Over 20 points of articulation<\/span><\/strong>

\nBall joints in arms and legs!<\/span><\/strong>

The combination of joints works together so well, allowing for easy, effective posing!!\u00a0\u03b5=(\uff61\u30fb\u0434\u30fb\uff61)<\/span><\/strong>

The shoulders also feature a little pull out gimmick!

<\/span><\/span><\/strong>The beam rifle means that you can pose him from this rather famous scene!\u00a0o(\uff1b\u25b3\uff1b)o!!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nIt was at this point that Chamber proved that he was the hero of the series!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>Plus Chamber’s head part can even be opened and closed like so! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The upper part can even be completely removed, which means you really can completely recreate his\u00a0appearance\u00a0from the final episode of the TV series!<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>

I don’t want to spoil too much for those who haven’t seen the series…<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nBut this scene was just amazing! AMAZING!!<\/span>

\n<\/strong>But moving on, there is one part that I haven’t touched on yet! The Pinion Halberd! <\/span>(*\u00b4\u0414\uff40)=\u0437<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Chamber’s weapon designed for attacking large areas is also included!<\/span>

\nLedo and Chamber fought together with this weapon…!<\/span>
\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>It played an important role in the series…!\u00a0(\uff1b \u30fb`\u0434\u30fb\u00b4\uff09<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The 3D data is currently being made, but just look at the amount of detail!!<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nThe figure will be fun to play with for sure, but just looking at it will be a treat too!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Makoto Ishiwata is the mechanical designer for ‘Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet’! He has also worked on various other series including <\/span>PSYCHO-PASS<\/a>!
