I don’t think I’ve been swimming in the ocean for over two years now… mainly because I can’t swim! I can’t stand opening my eyes underwater either! I’d rather stay on the beach and collect shells!<\/p>\n

Anyway, today I’m going to be taking a look at…<\/p>\n

Nendoroid Iona! \u2661<\/span><\/p>\n

From the popular anime series ‘Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-‘ comes a Nendoroid of the Mental Model, Iona<\/p>\n

She comes with two expressions including her gentle standard face as well as a the smiling expression from the final battle. Optional parts include the ‘data rings’ that can be displayed around her, sitting parts and even a starfish! The sitting parts allow you to display Iona as if she was sitting in the bridge!<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Her neck tie comes in two different versions, one standard, and one plowing up in the wind like this! The rest of her blue sailor outfit has also been sculpted beautifully! ( -\uff89\uff6a-)<\/p>\n

Her skirt is also sculpted with a fit of a fluttering appearance. Along with her standard expression you can see above, she also comes with a gentle smiling expression that’ll warm up even the coldest of hearts! (\uff40\u30fb\u03c9\u30fb\u00b4)\u309e<\/p>\n

She really is just too cute!!<\/span><\/strong>(For the second time)<\/span><\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Yep! She’s simply adorable!”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Today we’re joined by the figure’s planner, Station Yamada<\/span>! <\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “It’s been awhile since I worked on a Nendoroid project, but I think she has come out looking so very cute…!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Her expressions really bring out her character nicely, and the design overall really works with the Nendoroid look so well! The very first photo on this blog had Iona in what looked like a sitting pose…? \u03a3(O\u03c9O )<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “That would be the first thing I’d want to bring up anyway – parts included to display Iona sitting on the bridge!”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “This allows fans to recreate the famous ‘Full speed ahead’ scene from the series!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ooh! So she not only comes with an alternate lower body part to display her sitting… but a special stand for her to sit on too! \u30fd(\uff4f\u00b4\u2200\uff40\uff4f)\uff89<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Yep! Why is it that when cute girls sit this it looks so very cute…?”<\/span><\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Thanks to the help of Sanzigen, they’re also perfectly faithful to the series!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Just look how intricate they are!!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Looking at the rings really brings out the atmosphere of the series! I can already hear the BGM playing through my head! (o\u30fb\u03c9\u30fbo)<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Iona is a Mental Model and we wanted parts that showed this, so these rings were included! On this painted prototype they are a very thin, bent plastic supported by a the prop of the base. The final method they are included may differ, but they’ll likely be based on this idea!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Hmm… Iona seems to be staring at something in front of her…
\nWhat is it? \u03a3(O\u03c9O )<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Next up we have something I just had to include… a starfish!”<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It looks so soft and squishy! \u30fe(o\uff9f\u03c9\uff9fo)\uff89\uff9e<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Unfortunately it’s rather hard when you actually touch it though… the scale of the starfish is actually slightly smaller than it should be, but we thought a smaller starfish suited the Nendoroid appearance better!”<\/span><\/p>\n

The anime series is currently bring rebroadcast on TOKYO MX and SUN-TV, and I made sure to rewatch the episode where she poked the starfish… it’s somehow so relaxing!<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “I do hope fans will enjoy having Nendoroid Iona by their side… perhaps she will also have some friends to join her soon?”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
