I just got back from Hokkaido with a bit of a cold… I hope everyone is keeping warm as Winter draws closer!<\/p>\n

As I’m sure many of you know, the Good Smile site was recently updated!<\/p>\n

<\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\nThe top page is filled with everything that makes up GSC at any point of time! There’s all sorts of information to look though from products to news to Twitter feeds!<\/p>\n

Although… it looks a little more complicated than before…<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m sure many of you like me thought that when you first saw it… but I had some words with GSC’s Web Team member Oono-shi<\/span> on how to navigate and use the new site! Let’s get him here so he can explain to everyone else too!<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Go ahead! Ask whatever you want!”<\/span><\/p>\n

What made you decide to update the Good Smile Website?<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “GSC is releasing more and more products and attending more events than ever before… we needed a better way to show more information!”<\/span><\/p>\n

On the old site there was sometimes so much released at once that even I ended up missing some of the info…<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Exactly! New info always appeared on the top page, but it was often pushed down so quickly… We wanted to show more recent information in a more eye catching way!<\/span><\/p>\n

So the main theme of the updated site is to show is the ‘now’ of Good Smile Company over all aspects?<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “That’s the main idea behind the top page! In particular there are three points we focused on with the update!<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Sorting Options: Choose the Information You Want!<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\n(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “The top page features all the ‘now’ information of Good Smile… but for those looking for specific information, you can sort it quite easily with the buttons along the top left!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Oooh!! I see! ((((\uff9f\u2200\uff9f(\u3002_\u3002(\uff9f\u2200\uff9f(\u3002_\u3002<\/p>\n

So if you’re only really interested in the latest products you simply click the ‘Product Information’ sort button!<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Yep… that will cause the site to sort out all the product info like this…”<\/span><\/p>\n

\nOoh! That looks much easier to work with! It also makes it much easier to find the info I want to see! \u266a<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Alright… let’s move onto the Nendoroid listing page.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\nAll the Nendoroids lined up in announce order! The horizontal lists make it easy to see each product… the newer products also have a larger thumbnail I see!<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “This is just one way to look though products though. If you prefer you can also switch to the detailed view with the buttons on the right! Give it a try!” <\/span><\/p>\n

\nOoh! The thumbnails all grew in size and now also include some information about the figures!!<\/span><\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Yep! You can compare info quite easily in this view!”<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Improved Product Pages!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\nI’m told the product pages have three main changes, let’s take a closer look!<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “First is of course the image layout, you can simply scroll down your screen to see all the images easily!”<\/span><\/p>\n

But you can still click the images for the pop-up if you prefer the old experience as well! I think I prefer being able to see them all at once though! ( \u00b4\u8278\uff40)<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Next is the related products… they now bring out products of the same series instead of just the same category!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ooh! So fans of the series can see what other figures exist with ease! \u2606<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “And finally… take a look at the section circled in red!”<\/span><\/p>\n

\nImage sharing icons…?<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Yep! On the new site you can share each image separately, and a Twitter card will even appear on Twitter!”<\/span>

\nOooh! I can use this!!<\/span><\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “Ah, by the way… Madoka’s second release<\/a><\/span> is still up for order until tomorrow the 20th November at 21:00JST! Don’t miss out!”<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Improved Search Options: Search by Category, Company or Release Date!<\/span><\/strong>
\n<\/a>\"\"<\/a>
\n(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “In the past you could only ever search by a single word, which pretty much meant you had to know the product name to find it… but now there are a few more options to search for the products you want!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Definitely some useful changes! I remember searching for Racing Miku and being rather surprised at how much came up once… (\u00b4\uff1b\u03c9\uff1b\uff40)\uff8c\uff9e\uff9c\uff6f<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “I hope the new options allow for at least a little easier searching! We intend to look at alternate sorting and display methods in the future!”<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope to see sorting options like the ZOZOTOWN website!! \uff9f+.(\u25d5 \u03c9\u25d5 )\uff9f+.<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “As more products are released we’ll continue to improve options as we go along!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Hmm… after speaking with Oono-shi I can definitely see the improvements over the old site! (\uff40\u30fb\u03c9\u30fb\u00b4)\uff7c\uff6c\uff77\uff70\uff9d<\/p>\n

(\u30fb\u2200\u30fb) “The site will still be improved and fixed up where problems arise from here on out! We’re also listening to feedback and will be changing things accordingly! Keep an eye out for future updates!”<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
