In most cases the adhesive accelerator won&#8217;t be needed, but it will make things easier.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><strong>As long as you have glue, a craft knife and a toothpick, you&#8217;re set!<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size:small;\"><strong> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong><a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/5\/b\/5ba7f46b.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/5\/b\/5ba7f46b-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"017\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"331\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong>Place a drop of glue on a secure surface that won&#8217;t melt.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nJust like last time, I&#8217;ve simply used some tape, but you can use whatever you can find. Just try to make sure you don&#8217;t get any glue on the desk or your hands.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ameba.jp\/ucs\/entry\/srventrypreview.do#\"><\/a><a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/8\/3\/8397b4a8.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/8\/3\/8397b4a8-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"018\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"359\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong>Take something long and thin and spread the glue out.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThe image above is actually using a brass wire, but a toothpick will work just fine.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong><a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/5\/3\/535ca54d.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/5\/3\/535ca54d-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"021\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"356\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nPlace the joining area into the glue and spin it around. <\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nBe careful though &#8211; you need to get glue only on the sides of the shaft and NOT on the base. It&#8217;s quite hard to explain in words, so let me give you a picture:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ameba.jp\/ucs\/entry\/srventrypreview.do#\"><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border:0 none;\" src=\"http:\/\/img151.imageshack.us\/img151\/3651\/gscengjointexplain.png\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\u30d5\u30a3\u30ae\u30e5\u30a2\u30e1\u30fc\u30ab\u30fc\u30fb\u30b0\u30c3\u30c9\u30b9\u30de\u30a4\u30eb\u30ab\u30f3\u30d1\u30cb\u30fc\u52e4\u52d9\u3000\u300e\u30df\u30ab\u30bf\u30f3\u30d6\u30ed\u30b0 -\u677e\u6238\u99c5\u304b\u3089\uff11\uff10\u30de\u30b9\u9032\u3080-\u300f\" width=\"500\" height=\"397\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong>You want the glue to be on the pink area,<br \/>\nbut NOT on the blue area!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you get the glue on the base it&#8217;ll result in the shaft sticking out too far. Basically you&#8217;re just trying to make the diameter of the joining area &#8216;thicker&#8217; with glue.<\/p>\n<p>This series of blogs is actually being written with the help of Oda-P-sensei, but while doing watching him do this, I could only think to myself&#8230;<\/p>\n<div style=\"line-height:14px;\">\uff3f\uff3f\uff3f_<br \/>\n\uff0f\u3000\u3000 \u3000 \u3000\uff3c<br \/>\n\uff0f\u3000\u3000\u2500\u3000 \u3000 \u2500\u3000\uff3c\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000 &#8220;Hmmm&#8230;<br \/>\n\uff0f \u3000 \uff08=\u30fb=\uff09 \u3000\uff08=\u30fb=\uff09\uff3c\u3000\u3000\u3000 If that was me&#8230;<br \/>\n|\u3000 \u3000\u3000 \u3000 \uff08__\u4eba__\uff09\u3000 \u3000| \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 I&#8217;d be getting glue on all the wrong places!&#8221;<br \/>\n\uff3c\u3000\u3000 \u3000\u3000 \uff40 \u2312\u00b4\u3000 \u3000\uff0f<br \/>\n\u30ce\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000\u3000 \u3000\u3000 \u3000\uff3c<\/div>\n<p>If you&#8217;re worried like me, then you can do the more secure method below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ameba.jp\/ucs\/entry\/srventrypreview.do#\"><\/a><a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/a\/f\/afe5d534.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/a\/f\/afe5d534-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"022\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"353\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:medium;\">&#8216;Paint&#8217; the glue on by using the tip of a toothpick!<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nYou still need to be careful not to get the glue on the base or too high up.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:#ff0000;font-size:medium;\"><strong>This method should also be used for smaller parts.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nIt&#8217;s considerably easier to apply the glue using this method instead of just applying it to the joint directly. (Although it&#8217;s also slower.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ameba.jp\/ucs\/entry\/srventrypreview.do#\"><\/a><a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/4\/d\/4ddacb07.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"pict\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/4\/d\/4ddacb07-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"022\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.ameba.jp\/ucs\/entry\/srventrypreview.do#\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:x-large;\">Complete!<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\">You can see the area around the bottom is slightly thicker now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/0\/3\/03194028.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/0\/3\/03194028-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"023\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"313\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:medium;\"><strong>If you put too much glue on, you simply need to shave some off with the craft knife.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nJust make sure the glue has dried completely before doing so. Whilst it does depend on the type of glue, normally the craft knife will easily slice through the glue, so be careful not to cut yourself in the process.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:xx-large;\"><a href=\"\/en\/imgs\/c\/6\/c6d3d624.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/en\/imgs\/c\/6\/c6d3d624-s.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"024\" hspace=\"5\" width=\"480\" height=\"381\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:xx-large;\">Finished!<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nBy making the shaft slightly thicker it fits into place just like new!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\">I made use of a stand in this example, but you can use the same method for any kind of connecting joint. As always, just be careful not to get glue on the figure itself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size:small;\">Next time we&#8217;ll be looking at dealing with scuffed paint! <\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"font-size:medium;\">(\uff65\u2200\uff65)\uff89 <\/span><\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\">It&#8217;s a little more complex then the previous two&#8230; but even so, it&#8217;ll be up on the blog if you want to give it a try!<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s all for today!<br \/>\nI hope to see you all again tomorrow!
