Hello everyone, Kahotan here! (@gsc_kahotan)

As I mentioned the other day, I’ve become fallen in love with ginger kuzuyu! It’s so lovely and warm and is great protection against colds! Another great preventer of colds is hot information… which I’m going to be providing to everyone today by taking a look at this figure which was announced last week on the 23rd December! (`・ω・´)

Parfom Aigis!

Phat! Company have teamed up with the garage kit dealer ‘RyunRyunTei’ Toona Kanshi to codevelop the newest generation of action figures – the long awaited Parfom series is here! The very first figure to join the Parfom series is none other than the famous 7th Generation Anti-Shadow Suppression Android from Persona 3 – Aigis!

The design has a cute chibi appearance, but also allows for all sorts of fun poses and endless playability! The series has many more characters coming up, so keep your eyes open for your favorite characters!!

Such dignified beauty…!! (*´▽`*)

This figure is the very first in an all new series of articulated figures:
The Parfom Series!

Her bottom still has some rather sexy curves for an articulated figure! The texture of her outfit is also very nicely done!! It also looks nice and tight! (*´Д`)

Of course she also comes with all sorts of weapon parts to display her in action! ヽ(*・ω・)人(・ω・*)ノ

First up we have the Rocket Punch! I recommend using it together with this valiant expression for even more effect! ♥

The details put into the effects and cartridges on the machine gun are also stunning! (゚A゚;)

Plus the magazines can be attached and removed! ♪

She also looks so powerful holding onto her rifle!

She may be powerful, but she’s also a beauty!! ♡

This face seems a little expressionless at first, but combined with the cannon and a downward angle…

It creates a somewhat sad looking expression… but also captures her determined spirit!

This“Parfom Series” definitely has a bit of a chibi charm to it, but also has an amazing amount of details, allowing for a super cute, articulated figure that can be posed how you like! They’re a little bit bigger than the figma series making them slightly easier to pose as well… they’re also not quite as chibi as Nendoroids, allowing for more detailed designs – it’s almost like a mix between the two!

I really think the series has some amazing potential… playing around with it I remember thinking it was a really great design! φ(.. )

I want to know more about the Parfom series…!

So today we’re going to be joined with Phat! Company’s Ootani-san, who will be answering some of my questions! ♪

(・∀・) “It’s great to be here!”

Some of you might remember Ootani-san from my live broadcast when he introduced the 1/8th scale Ryuko Matoi: Kamui Senketsu Ver.!

Available for under until the 5th February at 12:00JST!

By the way… for those of you who don’t know, Phat! Company is just like Max Factory in the sense that they’re really close to GSC! They work from the same offices and we’re in constant contact all the time!

They’re actually right next door to the GSC Planning Team – my desk!!

Anyway, let’s get back to my questions about the Parfom series! ♪

1) Where did the name Parfom come from? (`・ω・´)

(・∀・) “Parfom comes from the first letters of ‘Phat and Ryunryuntei Form‘ – it shows the series is a new design born from the collaboration of Phat! company and Ryunryuntei!”

A collaboration between a figure manufacturer and well-known garage kit dealer! A fairly rare occurrence I think? (゚A゚;)

(・∀・) “Parfom has been designed from the ground up together – from the original concept to the basic format design!”

– Such a lovely smile! –

2) What inspired you to create the Parfom series? (`・ω・´)

(・∀・) “Phat! company has released joint products with the figma and Nendoroid series in the past… but we wanted something that could be associated with our name directly… so we created a brand new series from scratch!”

Ooh! I see, I see! (*’д’* )
Is that when you decided to find someone like Ryunryuntei to work with?

(・∀・) “We wanted our new series to be an articulated figure… but we wanted to get some alternate view points for our new design, which we eventually requested from Ryunryuntei’s Toona Kanshi! He was actually very anti-articulation at the start though!!”

Eh…? ( ゚д゚)

Ah I get it! If you look at it from a different perspective, getting someone who doesn’t like articulated figures to help create one that even they are happy with would likely allow for a fresh design!

(・∀・) “Exactly! The very fact that he was against the articulated designs allowed us to work on removing the factors he didn’t like about them! We thought it was a great way to create something with a truly original design.”

(・∀・) “Another important thing is that Kanshi-san’s same unique sculpting seen on scale figures can definitely be seen on the mouth, hair and overall body of the Parfom design! That is definitely a nice characteristic of the series too – one that marks the fresh design!”

3) What makes the Parfom series different? (`・ω・´)

(・∀・) “The Parfom series has four main characteristics…

◆ Sculpting that keeps the atmosphere of the source.

The combination of Kanshi-san’s soft looking faces and a realistic sculpt of the mouth area and hair, together with great care to ensure no details are left out, keeps the atmosphere of the original illustration while still creating a unique Parfom look!

◆ A chibi design that doesn’t affect the sculpt.

Trial and error has allowed the perfect balance of the body while still allowing for good articulation and details on each and every part of the figure – even with a chibi design!

◆ Reduction of the ‘bulge’ around joints

Areas such as behind the knees and elbows are fitted with a half-circle joint to not only look better but also match up with the articulation axis”

◆ A special stand designed for collectors!

We’re already preparing many more figures in the Parfom line-up, and each will come with a triangular stand like this – they’re easy to display together with one and other and don’t take up too much space!”

There are also numerous holes to attach the prop into, allowing for various posing options!”

Combining the articulation together with all the different holes allows for all sorts of variation! Sometimes it’s nice to be able to move your figure into a different position to fit your pose better! ☆

4) What else is in the line-up? (`・ω・´)

– Parfom Nozomi Hoshino (On Sale!) –

(・∀・) “Nozomi Hoshino is a bit like Phat! company’s mascot character, and was also the concept model for the Parfom series! She’s also scheduled to be releasing her first CD soon!”

(・∀・) “Character design was by Shigeto Koyama, and she is voiced by Miho Arakawa! Be sure to take a look!”

You can even listen to her debut song “Trillion Starlights” on the website!

(・∀・) “We’ve actually making a commercial to celebrate the official launch of the Parfom series! It is being made by Terasolar (A new company with many of the old galaxxxy members. It’ll be ready soon, so keep your eyes open!”

Ooh! I look forward to watching it!

(・∀・) “More details will be revealed at the Winter Wonder Festival on the 9th February!”
